@@EverydayChris our tire rotation went great day. The Tesla Service Tech arrived on time and it took about 15 minutes to rotate the tires. Cost was $65 and well worth it. He also checked the tire pressure and filled them up slightly as I was down to 40 -41 PSI back up to 42 PSI - A great Tesla Service experience today.
My tires rotation experience is pretty interesting with Tesla... For some reason, Tesla always say that my tires were good whenever they show up to do it. I got uncomfortable when it was over 12k and they still say that it did not need a rotation even though the manual stated to rotate them every 6k miles. I ended up taking them to a tire shop for them to rotate the tires there. I have a RWD M3 SR+
Maybe you don't drive a lot? Mine was, the guy was very friendly and looked at the tires for threads and asked how often do i drive the car. He said I did not need to rotate. Replace the O valve or someting for the trunk and there was no charge
The constant SW updates would be great if the updates would make driving better. I have my tesla for a few years now and I think the driving automation is rather getting worse than better. I already shut down all automatic systems, just because they don't work as they should.
4:09 the "miles" display is NOT based on anything other than the amount of charge the battery has. Driving habits and historical range are not a part of the display at all. Trip range, super charging planning, and the energy tab account for these things. But the "miles" shown by your battery are simply the number of Kilowatt-hours multiplied by some magical EPA number. Whether you drive exclusively in school zones or do literally nothing but drag race, that number will never vary for any reason other than your actual state of charge.
it shouldn't be designed to add so much hustle for customers. The vehicle should intelligently remind customers when to charge and automatically disconnect the charger when it's at the right battery level.
This is my main concern with Tesla. Not charging to 100% and not letting it get below 20%. So really 60% battery usage. The consent babying it for the life of ownership isn’t a good thing at all. This and build quality. Soon as they increase range and have better quality control I’m going to snag one
Every single lithium ion battery ever used does this kind of stuff to maximize the battery life. They could reprogram your display so 20% battery reports as 0% and the battery management shuts it off and report 80% battery as 100%. Or you can just be a big boy and decide for yourself. It's just like tires; you can choose how often you rotate, how often you check air, cornering hard, etc. All of it plays into lifespan. If you had a gas engine and revved hard to redline every second it was running it will have shorter life, too. Prius batteries are almost impossible to recharge to 100% or discharge to 0%. Apple does exactly what I suggested in battery charge state. It's your choice. Samsung reports actual capacity and lets you control things.
Your comments about surpercharging are misleading. I have two M3s that are almost 100% charged using superchargers or equivalent 3rd party. New in 2019, they each have under 8% degradation. Here's the secret. "Supercharger" can be anything from 70Kw to 350Kw.. If you think back a way, the Chad adapter sold was rated at 50Kw.. but the reality was 40-45Kw.. that low of a charge rate wont hurt the battery at all. nor will 70Kw from the older urban chargers. The home chargers are anything from 6Kw to 20Kw . So based on my real world experience between 3 different teslas, charging upwards of 70Kwh on a daily basis is not detrimental to the pack. The pack is designed to handle 125KW to 250Kw on a newer supercharger so half of that or less is a no brainer. AS with many things, details matter :)

@@ViktoriaKLSK Thanks, I'm still not sure how some things work so I've just been googling away haha. It's fun to have a car that has me discovering new things all of the time though.
Great videos but your use of double negatives in your graphic overlays is kind of confusing... the tip starts out "DON'T NOT" which looks like a dire warning NOT to do something, but the actual tip is something you should be doing. While it's grammatically correct, it's not great visually.
Is there a way to tell which type of battery we have? Also, I recommend adding the Tesla app to another phone (spouse, work phone, etc.) so you don't have to worry about getting locked out. Great video Chris.
I dont understand why tesla owners dont just put solar panels & some lifepo4 batteries & they can basically drive the car for free as long as theres sun hours in the state.
An EV uses much more electricity than any portable solar panels can generate. At best if you were to cover your car’s roof and hood with solar panels you would barely make 1 kWh of charge at high noon. 1 kWh would only keep your AC running on low. Note that most residential whole roof solar only generates about 50 kW on a good sunny day. That is barely enough to fill up an empty EV (base model 3 = 50 kW) and leave nothing for your home appliances.
"Dont not..USE the charger" "keep it plug in"??? please clarification, not sure what you mean- long periods of time with no charging-->should you keep it charging(plug in) or should not? thanks.
For the tire service i was told by my co workers that you only need to service your tires as far as flat tires or rotation only at tesla at it controls by the computer is this true? I heard too that once you get a flat tire it cost about 1k to replace 1 tire as they have to recalibrate everything and reprogram it to the computer?
@@EverydayChris but if you ever get a flat tire and needs it to be replaced how much did you or will be paying? They told me 1k each per tire. Thank you
Maybe I'm misunderstanding it but you said don't completely charge your batter but then soon after said to leave the Tesla plugged in...would that not completely charge the battery or have a similar effect of fully charging the battery? Little confused here
You should set a charging ceiling (let's say 80%) to your Tesla with NMC battery so you can never "completely charge your battery" even if you leave your Tesla plugged in.
Great clip! Thanks! After my first incident (can't open car using my phone), i'm carrying a real Tesla access card in the wallet together will all other cards; ordered additional set of cards, program one extra and keeping at home. BTW, if you have two Teslas, you can program access cards to work on any your car.
That’s a nice video, very nice! I would choose BMW - it has beautiful and stylish design, unique playful character and always fun to drive! In my opinion electric cars would never feel the same way - because it’s not a car YOU drive, it’s a car that drives you…
The cost of power at times can be quite high. I own a Rivian RT1 quad motor, and I want to point out that during the cold winters in New England, the battery's performance decreases significantly compared to the summer season. My fiancé's Tesla also experiences the same issue. You may have to keep your vehicle on charge all the time since, let's be honest, if you live in an area with cold winters and use the heater, you will get a much lower range. However, you can preheat the interior to save power as heating the interior consumes a lot of energy. Also, disabling regenerative braking can help in driving on snow and ice since black ice and regenerative braking can be a deadly combination and decrease your range even more. But, if you live in NH & FL the warmer region like me, you can enjoy your car with a full battery all the time.
when everyone owns a Electric car do we have enough juice for everyone to charge 🤔, for now in the summer we got black out because everyone use Ac at home the same time .
I took my first trip in my new long range Model Y. In the first 150 miles it slammed on the brakes at least 15 times. Tesla tells me that there is nothing wrong with the car, that they are aware of the issue, and that they are working on a software fix. Phantom braking has been an issue for several years and still no fix. Wish I knew about this before I bought the car
I’m seeing lot of irritating noise when I drive my Tesla YLR. Some of the parts or something always give moving noise on the roads. Especially if there are any low uneven roads. Did anyone face such issues? And tesla fixed them?? Thanks
Chris, When you were speaking about Predictive energy usage and range it left me with a question. Does Tesla's predictions take into account elevation changes? My Wife has a Volkswagen ID.4 and it struggles with planning charging stops in my area because it's not accounting for extra range loss due to the changes in elevation we have out here. Tesla software is so much further along than everyone else, I wonder if it has taken that into account.
I've only supercharged for 2 yrs and about 2x a week. I still have same battery mileage no problem
yeah, the double negatives are driving my crazy too.. The trip tab part? I was like what

There are so many things to look out for! Sounds like only for the IT savvy but if you're not, there will be even more problems?!
I know lots of non tech savvy people with Tesla's.
@EverydayChris which radar detector brand/model do you have? Also, can you let me know how you mounted the device under your rear view mirror?
Check out my other videos!
Thanks a lot for these tips, just got my model 3 a few days ago so it's a lot to take in. This was really well explained and very easy to follow.
I have mine now like 4 weeks and before i got it and the first week i was looking at so many videos that started to make me sick…so yes its a lot to learn and take in…id say sort the charging thing cause its the most important then just stop watching these for a while amd go on youtube now and then to check specific things….this took my anxiety way down….😂 hope helps ypu too
@@ViktoriaKLSK Thanks, I'm still not sure how some things work so I've just been googling away haha. It's fun to have a car that has me discovering new things all of the time though.
Awesome video dude, thanks!!!
Great videos but your use of double negatives in your graphic overlays is kind of confusing... the tip starts out "DON'T NOT" which looks like a dire warning NOT to do something, but the actual tip is something you should be doing. While it's grammatically correct, it's not great visually.
Thinking about buying a Model S Performance. Which is the best option 2018, 2019 0r 2020?
Newer is always better
U just answered my question about the tire repair. Good looking.
Is there a way to tell which type of battery we have? Also, I recommend adding the Tesla app to another phone (spouse, work phone, etc.) so you don't have to worry about getting locked out. Great video Chris.
Agreed! LFP's for the 0-100% Charge screen and the others is 4680's
@@EverydayChristhat didn’t answer the question tho!
I dont use the card key anymore but its in a holder on my keyring with the rest of house keys so its always on me anyways…
"Dont not..USE the charger" "keep it plug in"??? please clarification, not sure what you mean- long periods of time with no charging-->should you keep it charging(plug in) or should not? thanks.
Yes so use the charger and keep it plugged in! Haha
Def not true. I went to Costco and Americas and so does everyone else no issues. Same with flats. Only if you use foam you need a new TPMs sensor
@@EverydayChris but if you ever get a flat tire and needs it to be replaced how much did you or will be paying? They told me 1k each per tire. Thank you
I'm curious about the clear roof, has no one shared if it gets too hot due to the direct sun? Anyone put a dark tint on it? Looking to buy my first m3
@@JohnFatCat I appreciate the reply. This makes sense, I'll be sure to do that.
First off, studies and testimonies have shown that Tesla Super charging DOES NOT DAMAGE YOUR BATTERY!
Yup, this is the reason why I finally decided to get a Tesla.
Why so angry friend?
A new subscriber- soon to be a new tesla owner.. thank you for this informative video
Did you get your Tesla?
if you'r not in the U.S, Myanmar and Liberia you need to change from kilometers to percentage
Thank you for your tips… more power to your UA-cam 🙏
You're so welcome!
Helpful. What do you mean by ‘letting your battery go to sleep at different states of charge?”
Like let it go to deep sleep at 60%, 40%, 30%, then charge it back up to 80 by the end of the week etc
Great clip!
In my opinion electric cars would never feel the same way - because it’s not a car YOU drive, it’s a car that drives you…
haha nice
lol, I would bet you never drove a MYP😂
although I liked the look of my 2020 X4 m40i better than MYP I have zero regrets
Awesome Video. Very Useful and informative. Thanks So Much!
So this stuff makes you the Tesla mechanic. Pretty cool!
Something people forget is when you get a Tesla. You will be hated by super macho “men” driving work trucks.
thanks bro great advise
I don't have a wall charger at home, my mom won't let me have it. She says it'll make the electrtic bill to high.
It will
Would the electric bill get to high even if I have solar panels?
That’s not true it depends where you live. I’m paying 12 cents per kw and it raised my electric bill forty dollars for constant every day charging.
I have seen that as soon as I switch on AC (in summer), the battery starts draining super fast. Have you also seen the same?
Have not!
when everyone owns a Electric car do we have enough juice for everyone to charge 🤔, for now in the summer we got black out because everyone use Ac at home the same time .
lfp is recommended to go 100%
I took my first trip in my new long range Model Y.
Yes it does and winds and speeds
@@EverydayChris awesome. Thanks so much for the reply
