As a viera rper, I enjoyed this. I gave him the name Rhal Arda before they released the naming conventions. So Rhal is his city name and he took his old clan as his surname. I haven't come up with a name for his forest name and when asked, he says he doesn't even remember it anymore because it's been so long since he's gone by it. He had barely finished training when Garlemald invaded the area and he fled in fear. Now he lives in Coerthas because the weather reminds him of home.
IMO, playing a Viera isn't really as rigid as people may think, because the isolation of villages may have lead to differences in development, culture, and dialect.
I tend to keep to myself while playing so don't get, and don't hunt for, a lot of RP opportunities but love the naming conventions of the Viera. Decided to name my character Gale Ornedwesfv with him picking the name Gale because he really liked the stronger, warmer winds of Lindsa Lominsa compared to his home in the mountains and if i'm wanting to alt tab or need to go afk i'll usually keep him near the closest cliff to enjoy the breeze
Aaaaa thank you so much for the kind words! X3 I really want to use the lil scree again soon! It's had some tracking issues lately haha I appreciate your support! ;o;
I've been considering making a male Viera, though I'm definitely struggling to come up with compelling reasons as to why a male Viera would turn their back on their culture and the duty it imposes on them to explore the world beyond. That, and/or, to find information to draw upon about how many Viera can be found from outside the wood, civilizations they can be found in, and for how long they've been able to be found in the wider world. (Outside of the information that ~5% of Dalmasca's population are Viera.) Would be helpful to have more ideas as to where they might hail from and how many generations of them have existed since. Far easier to conceive justifiable motivations for deciding to become an adventurer if you weren't born/raised in the culture that would normally shun/forbid it.
Adjacent to this, I wish we had more info as to where Erenville came from and how he came to become a Gleaner. Would potentially grant a *lot* of insight into the above.
Yeah I would honestly love a bit more context to the viera overall. We've gotten small snips and pieces, but nothings truly expounded on it in great detail. I would suggest if you would like to see another male viera within a questline, give the sage jobs quests a shot! They do have a tiny bit more info about male viera! Not much, but we take what we can get currently. XD
@@AlienneAshford Yeah, I was surprised and confused to find that I apparently never actually did the Sage quests, despite having Sage at 90. Gonna have to have a go at that!
You could go with the simplest call to adventure, which would be Hydaelyn literally calling your character to leave the forest and save the Source. Another scenario would be for a male Viera that has centuries to perfect their skills and learn their forest, but became ever more curious about the outside world. And due to a solitary life, he could leave and enter the forest without anyone knowing and use his skills for adventuring to make gil and explore. Lots to explore with that one, like maybe he gets caught re-entering or his one friend finds a souvenir obviously from outside the forest.
male viera ninja seems like an RP match made in heaven
They rock the gear too! X3

I'm happy you liked it! ^0^ I really like the flexibility that can come with the Viera. The dual names can be spun into so many different fun ways! X3
While I am not a role-player, I do love to have a backstory for my character and who they are so thanks for this.
Im glad you liked it! Even when I didnt RP I always loved doing backstories as well x3
I’m not sure how I ended up on a video where the great serpent of ronka gives an overview of Viera lore for rp purposes, but I am here for it
The great serpent screes for all! Welcome welcome! XD
I love the naming convention. It means my name "lala punter" can be considered a lore friendly name.
It does allow for freedom within reason; although such a name may not be taken quite seriously amid Rp.

It really does give them an open slate to become broad and diverse! one of the things I love about them so much! X3
I'm enthralled by this video, as this is something that I've wanted to showcase on my channel.
Absolutely awesome video!
Thank you! Im glad you enjoyed this! I've still got a couple I need to add to this series, like Lalafel and Hrothgar! ^o^

Im thankful that you enjoyed it! yeah that was a neat little tidbit of info that was new to me as well! Love learning new things while making these x3
You're really cute with the scree, I like the presentation and tone of voice. Hope you grow bigger!
Aaaaa thank you so much for the kind words! X3

Subbed, very helpful and informative!
Thank you!!!! IM glad this was able to help you out!
Right on, Alan!
AaAaA thank yah Kreeen!
Since wood warders use bow would that basically be the main weapon/style for them?
Hrm - from a tribal perspective I would say Bows, Spears; maybe axes would be their primaries!
