So - important to note as it apparently didn't come off clear in the video. The examples of mixed race children often take after their mother is a statement about the ones we have seen thus far in game (which may be subject to just straight up not wanting to make custom head models). It is NOT a hard rule. This came about in-part from this video being hard to keep a in-universe point of view when viewed by others. For a good summation of everything shown in game as well as statements from the developers - we highly recommend everyone check out MirkeMenagerie's blog here: mirkemenagerie.tumblr.com/post/177360426969/hello-i-found-your-blog-from-a-forum-because ~Archivist Lanverlais
So that comment of they take after their mothers is universal rule of thumb of the natural world and for good reason. As human we don't have to really worry about this. From my few years of living next to a dog breeder, who had in the past breed different sized dogs in the past had told me that regarldless of the size the babies usually takes the body and most of the size from the mother. The reason is that the mother needs to give birth so regardless of the seed, the egg is the most relevant part of the equation. This in a fantasy game is silly to consider but I think is a grounding element that even most other fantasy media follows.
I thank you for this. I've been so conscious about that rule about interracial children inheriting their mother's traits, since I've wanted to HC my WoL's children also inheriting their father's traits more. It's good to know that it is not the hard rule.
I think the major reason why the child takes after their mothers race because the idea of one of the smaller women giving birth to a giant Roegadyn baby is horrifying

The whole plotline of the Studium deliveries for gatherers in Endwalker is about helping a Hyur assistant hook up with an Aura professor she's secretly in love with.
Hadn't done that one but a student npc commented that his friend would attend class early if a certain Professer Jinba would be teaching that day in the studium. Since there is only Mikoto Jinba and her twin sister who is exiled from Sharlayan. I am guessing the student is crushing on Mikoto herself. Too bad she wants Cid.
I just finished that quest line last week and oh my goodness I loved it so much. Having the warrior of light acting as a matchmaker/wingman is so wholesome and hilarious at the same time.
I can thnk of several examples, the Lalafell girl from the CUL questline that is clearly lusting for the Miqote man, the recent couple from the BTN/MIN quests in Sharlayan, and apparently Tataru is VERY popular with the men no matter where she goes. She even had a Garlean soldier pining for her.

Little disappointed that there was no mention of the couple that brought this very topic to light for a lot of us: the treasure hunters from the Wanderer’s Palace quests. They specifically commented that they were outcasts more because of their crossing of racial lines than their same-sex attraction.
@@TheEorzeanArchives No worries! Just something I was looking for and didn't see. And in Pride Month, no less! *feigns fanning self* But seriously, love the content.
I always found that a bit ironic since iirc we meet way more interracial pairings across the game than same gender ones. In fact, those two are the only ones I can think of.
Given how many Interracial pairings and how few homosexual pairings we have in the game, and the impression I got that these two are a bit odd, I always wondered if that wasn't just them not understanding that others have a problem with their homosexuality rather than interraciality. It is so normal to them, it simply never occured to them that could possibly be a problem to others. A throwaway line that was intended to be funny by the questwriters. As there is no continuation that I know of we will likely never know.

Now the question is: in his earlier years Thancred going for all the ladies....could this lead to a story line where a horde of little Thancreds of all shapes and sizes make their appearance?
Hasn't been long enough ingame. About 2 years if I'm not off the mark. Explanation below. Ameliance says in her Custom Deliveries intro that she's been sending the scions money for years. Plural. And we all know she was sending her money their way for her children's sake. Alphinaud joined in ARR and Alisae even later. That means even if she was speaking colloquially with a really conservative estimate, it's been close to two years. As for a liberal estimate, that's much harder to pin down.
My assumption is the mother/father rule only happens cross-race. Clans are still the same race so the typical RNG genetics occurs where dominant/recessive traits are happening.
So - the mother/father rule isn't really even a rule. It didn't come off as clearly as we had hoped that we were merely commenting on the well known examples that we have in game. A pinned comment has been added to make this more clear.
There is a Roe male in the Gold Saucer with a male Hyur child (if I remember right.) to add to the possible adoptions or even the Mother is Hyur of some sort. We don't know, but I remember their speech bubbles popping up showing a family connection.
Yep, if you look in the section on adoptions there is a shot of him with the kid. The statements only imply that he is the father of the kid in some way sadly and not as to if he is the biological father.
Graha is a mixed breed. There are lots of lala interspecies love quests. And during Stormblood if you talk to some of the NPCs in the ala migo part, you'll find there are roe/hyur halfbreeds.
It's also interesting to note that in-universe it is postulated that Hyur and Elezen specifically share a common ancestor which would make crossbreeding between them more likely than with the other races.
@@Nightshadow12111 AFAIK it isn't really made clear how the races evolved. The existence of that remote village on a vulcanic island that farms grapes hints that atleast some of the spoken races even evolved during the Ancients time (I understood that the people that lived there are not Ancients themselves) and had societies that were largely independent from them (excluding the respective Azem that traveled around) By how the Ancients look it is easy to assume that they are the ancestors of Hyuran and Elezen but as for the others it is more debatable.
@@elecrom_9757 I've read that story again, there is no hints that it was populated by some other species. And Ancients didn't recognize player's race in Elpis, they are surprised to see a human with animal ears/tail/horns/scales, which means modern races (or somewhat similiar ancestor races) didn't exist during that time.
@@Nightshadow12111 there are definitely magic shenanigans involved too, if we are to believe the sundering happened just 12,000 years ago on the Source’s timeline. Lore says that many scholars believe Miqo’te are related to the house cat. Humans and cats in the real world share a common ancestor that lived approximately 80-90 MILLION years ago. 12,000 years ago, agriculture was just starting to become a common practice. The first written records are from 7,000 years ago, and the first civilization was about 5,000 years ago. Either there was magic involved in Eorzean evolution, or Hydealyn didn’t bother having the moon ship built until humans evolved to a significant point.
@@LaCeiba1924 Well, i guess the sundering WAS that magical speed up process. It couldn't happen after either, otherwise the races on shards most likely would evolve differently.

As a male lalafell with a female Viera wife, I felt compelled to watch this video lol. I'm tallest possible lala, and I can still completely hide under her dress with room to spare. It is hilarious lol
One thing that is noted in game is that Aurian children of mixed heritage appear to have fewer scales than usual for Au Ra. It comes up in side quests that unlock after completing Shisui of the Violet Tides. What was thought be a fairy tales able Hyur fisherman and Au Ra woman from Sui no Sado turns out to have some truth to it, with records of a child born with few scales on his skin.
How could you not? If you pay any attention to story it is heavily hinted in the main quest line as the examples in videos said. Along with other side quests.
So yes, it's clear that loporitts are the product of Viera and Lalafell. It's no wonder why my male Lalafell is actively fleeing from his viera wife, she wants to make new loporitts, not merely adopt them.
hreasvelgr and shiva's story always makes me think of Terra from 6, i wonder if it would be possible for a sufficiently humanoid primal to produce a child with a mortal... maybe it's a story we'll see handled in the future, but i kind of doubt it since it seems like they're sort of done with primals as a recurring threat lol
Then there's also the mystery of pairs WITHOUT Hyur involved. I have a Miqo'te man with half-Auri children, and I roll with "Au Ra daughters with Miqo'te face markings", but still...
I would like to say for your video: As a Lalafell I greatly appreciate you actually speaking on the broad spectrum of all races and didn't exclude Lalafell/Dwarfs. I am greatly largely into lore and every time I find informative stuff like this I love brainstorming on the possibilities of Lala/All races mixed together I've been shut down even belittled for doing this because of the fandoms stance on Lalafell despite the devs making it clear of what they are as a race. This gives my writing and I'm pretty sure others like me hope to write more onto these theories and stories of mixed-up races. Clans including due to Teledji Adeledji was half Plainsfolk and Dunesfolk and yet he was was called the half blood prince, which if you think about it he may have been one of the people who dealt with discriminatory level kind of treatment due to this alone. Papalymo's a Plainsfolk but it's clear as day their names rings very much like a Dunesfolk name theirs many things I'd like them to elaborate on but unfortunately speculations and theories would be the only thing I could look back on or collect on the literature. Aside from that, I hope to look at more of your content in the future. You've won me over!
this is such an interesting question. I always imagined that the child from cross-race stuff is kind of a grab bag of random traits. for example: I play a Highlander who, in his lore, I say that he has a Hrothgar parent and a Hyur parent. He's mostly Hyur in appearance, but a lot bigger (and hairier) than other hyurs. I'd give him a tail, too, but square enix won't let me have one
from 10:40 when you talked about how the clans of each race has the potential to share names across the board as such: F'lahminn is actually a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te, but was given a Keeper of the Moon model. (Taken from the FFXIV Wiki) Appearance Although a Seeker of the Sun, F'lhaminn has an appearance of a Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te, with white hair and pink eyes. In an interview with Koji Fox, he says that it's possible that she is of mixed heritage. She wears a purple dress with gold trimmings and a pink skirt.
For the Viera, there is a tale within Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings about a sub-race called the Feol-Viera which came about through a Viera mother and Aegyl father. This resulted in a race with shorter heights, shorter ears, colored hair (compared to a typical Viera) and no Aegyl wings. I think someone similar would come about between a Viera and Hyur in XIV. In the FF-XII main game, there is a side-quest when you pair up a Viera with a Hume. So I think it's well within the probability within XIV. Hyur are a very genetically compatible race.
There's also that one legend in the ruby princess questline of the Hyur fisherman curing the aura princess and they got married and have a nearly " scaleless" child
Any race interbreeding with a Lalafell will likely grow to be taller than the average Lalafell but smaller than than the average race of the other parent. Probably more chubby, and rounder face if it's not a Highlander or Roegadyn. Like Bandobras Took, who was tall enough to ride a regular horse. Any race interbreeding with Roegadyn will likely be taller than the average for the other race, and have better muscle development and more pronounced jaws and maybe bigger noses. Likely also some odd color, but remember Keepers, Xaela and Duskwights can have "notn-hyuran" skin colors too. Any Race interbreeding with Hyurs probably look more like Hyurs but with lesser features of other races, such as shorter ears, shorter than the average, or maybe small fangs. Anyone interbreeding with a Miqo'te, Au Ra or Viera will likely have "lesser" features of the race. Smaller and shorter ears, tails, and odd skin or eye colors, shorter tails, etc. aHrothgar... is up to devate. Likely taller and hairier.
I think it's a case of the child born just being 50/50 of either parents races with maybe unique features like difference in skin tone, hair and eye color in most cases, and the million in a million chance being offspring with stronger mixed features like Hilda.
Another example I'd bring up is the cute little Miqo'te girl that you meet in 5.3 who wants to be a WoL healer as she clearly shows traits of both Seeker of the Sun/Keeper of the Moon tribes. However, I will hold that until we see definitive proof of it in the game that many races may not be able to procreate with each other even if they SOMEHOW found a way to copulate despite their drastic differences. The genetic differences may simply be too great for it to happen very easily or at all which added to the difficulty accomplishing the later probably explains in a broad sense why it's not seen in the world.
If we can't get Ivitican Moogles (final fantasy tatics) as a playable race, I'd love lopporits as one instead. They're both pretty much bunny lalafell at the end of the day.
@@WarriorKalia Yup. We also got to briefly visit there in ff14 so it's not beyond the realms of possibility; although like other raids, it could just be a reference and that's it. Still, it's one of the closest moogle races that have a humanoid appearance, can be any class and are still a beast race and yoshi P himself said he'd love a beast race to be playable in future (just a rumor). Although Ivitican Moogles are pretty much lalafell with viera ears and a moogle pom; which match the lopporits very well.
@@myhlosic It's probably the same race and I'm just spelling it wrong XD But to be more specific in case you want to check, I'm referring to the Final Fantasy Tatics Advanced race for GBA; which the first character you meet in the world is an Ivalician/Ivitician moogle. There is a similar but different race of moogle frin ff12 although I haven't played that game, however that version has a coloured nose and their pom hangs behind their head instead of infront.
When doing the black mage job quest lines, the conjurer guy has a thing for lali I can't remember names to well but it was like around the 60-65lv range
Much of this actually made it into the lore for my main RP character. I play her as being a half-breed between Xaela and Miqo'te. For the most part she looks entirely Xaela(her mother), but she does have her father's eyes. Even the acceptance part helped with the writing. Her father doesn't accept her saying that it was a moment of weakness while he was a Tia, but his other children(my character's siblings) all accept her as their oldest sister.
i submit that reproduction in eorzea is less physical and more metaphysical. Not only are the denizens of eorzea stated to be aether based life forms further more it can be surmised that people with low aetherical density would struggle to produce the necessary aether to produce children who are alive with a soul. as is evident by the dragons needing breeding grounds rich in either to lay their clutches of eggs. being being of aether it could reasonably assumed that the aether would shape the body to their environment (the mothers womb) different races have different natural affinities to certain elements of aether especially so with the beast tribes.
Dont know how or why this was in my recommended. But, I stayed for the whole thing. It's nice to have UA-cam recommend something I don't instantly hate and enjoy. Have a like
So, I have a theory in the making. Garleans may not be from another star or shard. The only bit of evidence for this is that Thancrad lost his ability to use magic when passing through the etheric sea. I am assuming they may have been moved to escape a calamity on another star. But this is just speculation on my part.
Not sure if it is only in the german version of the game, since I don't see any mentions of it in the video or the comments, but I am pretty sure that Arenvald (that's his name? That Highlander dude with the blonde hair) also grew a third eye, which was cut out by his mother since she couldn't bear to see it. So there are at least two half-garlean Hyurs with that racial mark. I find it also interesting that apparently it is possible that those secondary racial traits from the father can appear at a later time than birth. But maybe that is also just a Garlean thing.
Maybe Garleans are some sort of super soldier failed experiment created by the Allagan Empire by mixing Highlander, Midlander and Elezen genes together, along with some sort of alchemical cocktail to maximize their full physical and mental potential by converting the ability to expel and manipulate their aether into a new energizing internal system that bolstered their physical and mental strength instead. And the Third Eye they have being a side effect of these experiment.
Or an experiment by the Ascians to make the perfect host body, since they themselves can manipulate aether wether the host can or can’t is inconsequential.
You forgot to add the padjali. I know they are rare but I would have liked to see more information in them amd cross breeding. Im glad you showed Gotsetsu! He emoted like Roes has the stature of a Roe but looked like a Hyur! I was dissapointed in the lack of information about him in that regard! Edit: lack of information in game i mean
Brother Archon! I might offer an extra take on this 'traits of the mother' business. Might I turn your attention to none other than Detective Hildibrand, and his parents: Godbert (a Highlander), and Julyan (a Midlander). Now this is a more notable situation, as not just eyes and teeth change, but entire physiology. Hildibrand carries with him the vast majority of his father's traits, including his race, bearing the notion that the rule of the mother may apply exclusively in circumstances where races mix, and not clans.
Huh. I got click baited thinking this would be more of a silly video. I’m pleasantly surprised to have found that it’s in fact an in character lore video. Well done!
I thought Arenvald also had an eye? It was just a source of shame so he tried to cut it out and that's why his hair covers his forehead and he has a face paint covering the area it would be. Maybe my brain made this up but I swear he has dialogue where he mentioned this when he talked about living in Ala Mhigo with his mom. Also I'm pretty sure Cirina has moved onto someone more... Fiery than Hien in recent years. Or perhaps they're just roommates.
I think it was Arenvald’s mother that tried to cut it out… As for Sadu/Cirina/Magnai, it’s left wonderfully ambiguous in canon 🥰 Open to any interpretation you wish. I’m still certain that Sadu is Magnai’s Moon (Enemies-to-lovers in the enemies stage), but he’s too fixated on his “a dancer in the morning mist” image of soulmate that he wants to realize it, so tries after Cirina and other women… And Sadu and Cirina can be read both ways :)
@@Tioko actually i think one of side stories canonizes that sadu is the naama lover magnai is looking for. Either theyre both too blinded to see it, she knows it but waits for him to realize, or shes just toying with him on purpose
@@JannetFenix Oh? Which one is that? “O Nhaama, where art thou?” doesn’t state it for certain, but really implies it. Sadu, as a Dotharl, probably doesn’t know or believe the whole Azim/Nhaama thing. And Magnai is indeed blinded by his own preconceptions. I’ve actually commissioned a fanfic where Magnai realizes. It’s still in the works, though.
first, I love the image thumbnail. Second, as for why a you would be asked this, I'd think it'd be a common enough question in a melting pot like Sharlayan. Kind of surprised they don't have the biggest examples of cross racial mixing, honestly. Edit: one thing I can't help but notice on the meta level, is that the 'takes after the mother' thing seems common in fantasy. Elder Scrolls and Pokemon for example also follow this trend, which sort of makes me wonder why? My primary theory is just that it sidesteps the question of "how would a woman of a tiny race have the child of a big race?"
Notice how every crossbreed we met is first in line, despite societies mixing fir generations. Im certain that mongrels only work in a way ligers - a mix between tiger and lion - do. Cross species relationship is not forbidden, yet You can "try" to mix two differens species and end with nothing in most cases; but if they are close enough genetically, one in ten thousand can produce an offspring. Mongrel like this will be rejected and most often infertile.
in a purely biological thinking, makes sense the body would default to the mother in terms of “base template” as she is the one carrying the child and the body wouldnt wanna risk popping out a Roe baby out of a lala mother. the child would be as big as she is if it took after the father….
when I used to breed competitive pokemon I would often wonder the same. My working theory is the egg in fertilization holds the blueprint for the mothers form/shape/frame. And the sperm inside it grants traits and characteristics that might show through the mothers form.
@@Raptor_Media_Group then why do mongrels with discerning features of both parents exist, and are so looked down upon? Remember, mixed heritage is docially unacceptable, not from appearance reasons.
@@JannetFenix Using Hilda as an example she has a Hyur frame for most of her body. Only things that are Elezen are her red eyes (fathers color) and pointed ears. As too why shes looked down on? Ishgard society is like that. Highborn mixing with lowborn is not well liked there. There's nothing inherently wrong with it. She holds up my theory perfectly well. Mothers form (hyur) with some characteristics from her father (eyes and ears)
Has anyone done the SGE questline? At level 80 it is revealed in the final two 'Diary of a Sage' entries that the Sharlyan Elezen's wife was a Viera woman. It seems she was not born in Sharlyan as she has extensive knowledge of her tribal medicines etc. so perhaps she came to Sharlyan later in her life. The diary entry made no mention of them being shunned for their relationship, in fact they were both rather esteemed scientist-types. She did make mention of the age difference; even though Elezen have very long lifespans of around 120 years, Viera can be more than 3 times as long and remains youthful throughout. Other than that, it just seemed like a normal loving relationship - I'd love to know what their children would have looked like, although in the real world, two races so far removed from one another would likely be unable to have offspring... :(
I mean interspecies relationships and sexual activities clearly happen. Bloodshore has the cute courtesan Fate and she straight up bangs a Roegadyn male. You see alot of "inprisoned" maidens in sastasha meaning lalafel, miqo'te and hyur ladies are kept as slaves (perhaps even sexual) by the priates. Wich include hyur and Roegadyn. Limsa contain several maidens trying to woo a roegadyn or other individuals while themselves being hyur or miqo'te. One does not even need special quests or storylines to see this IS happening. Hell... heavensward show a hyur/elezen lady IN the MSQ. And not to forget... people like thancred clearly do not look at race when they date or bang a woman. So yeah. Its no realy surprise tbh
One the topic of races, do we know how the different races came about when Etheirys was sundered? Did they just exist after that point or was there a kind of evolution going on?
I allude to this but basically there are 2-3 schools of thought on this with some split evidence both in and out of game atm. There are legitimate arguments so atm it’s unclear but with suggestions.
Leaving the whole romance part out of the equation. We see tons of cases of real life humans falling in love and having relationships with even inanimate objects. So it's not weird to think if we would have more humanoid species in real life, we would see a lot of interspecies relationships. But I think it all depends on both physical and genetically compatibility. Physical - Poor, poor lalafell with a Roegadyn partner 0.o! Genetically - I'm no genetics professor but I can safely assume that, let's say you make a sheep mate with a kangaroo, I doubt a kangasheep will come out because the male and female are just genetically not compatible. A race is something different then a species. I guess that Elezen and Hyur are pretty compatible, having a relatively close ancestor maybe. So are basically a races. But a Miqo'te has, if at all, ancestors far further down the evolutionary chart so they are less to non-compatible. So they might be another species.
I love how these lore videos try their damndest to remain in character and world without breaking the 4th wall too much Makes me wish we could have a Shoddycast style Storyteller series based on ffxiv lore
I was waiting so long for this! EDIT: Calling it now. Way way way in the past a hyr got together with a hrothgar as forbidden lovers. One of them of a higher standing the other one lower in their society. Then after thousands of years their story gets retold by their progeny and muddled by history and so whe have the Seekes of the Moon and Sun! Just joking of course.
This is interesting cause i have my wol who is a viera/hrothgar mix and she mostly inherited viera traits with the exception of having a bunny tail and more sharper than usual teeth/canines to show her hrothgar side of the genes.
As a male lalafell I will sacrafice my sm0l pudgy body so that Loporrits can become a playable race I do ask Viera ladies to be gentle. 😖My safe word is: Coffee Biscuit.

That thumbnail... 🤣 Maybe the reverse happened and that a couple of Lopporets wound up on Etheryis somehow and they evolved into the Lalafell and Viera depending on where they were at. xD
Final Fantasy XII is your answer. In one of the side missions is about a hume (hyur) in love with a viera. At the end, the couple end together. Is wholsome. If you would like to know more about the viera culture I totally recommend FFXII.
I just prefer to think that it's technically possible, but ends up a lot like zebra mule. Therefore, my hyur can bang as many elezen boys as her heart desires without fear of-

*an* in-universe

Little disappointed that there was no mention of the couple that brought this very topic to light for a lot of us: the treasure hunters from the Wanderer’s Palace quests. They specifically commented that they were outcasts more because of their crossing of racial lines than their same-sex attraction.

She has a knack for picking up trouble, it's all thanks to the things she had learned from staying at the Ishgardian Inn, where she became more bold due to her prying nature.
All in the name of ~lust~ science
@@Preaplanes What off stuff before the events of ARR, surely our white haired friend has been chasing skirts longer than 2 years?
@@Nuinwing I doubt Ameliance considers Thancred one of her kids.
@@Preaplanes I meant that Thancred is 30+ years old, so he has had plenty of time for some carnal gymnastics, way before the events of the game.
I took that to be a blended family situation, myself.
IIRC all humanoid races, including Miqo'te and Viera are descendants of sundered ancients. Not sure about Hrothgar tho.
@@Nightshadow12111 AFAIK it isn't really made clear how the races evolved.
The existence of that remote village on a vulcanic island that farms grapes hints that atleast some of the spoken races even evolved during the Ancients time (I understood that the people that lived there are not Ancients themselves) and had societies that were largely independent from them (excluding the respective Azem that traveled around)
By how the Ancients look it is easy to assume that they are the ancestors of Hyuran and Elezen but as for the others it is more debatable.

Never thought that cross-race relationships would be a thing, that you can spend time to think about Eorzea. Great work!
@Protostar Mirage yea but the difference is that "race" in this game means an actual different species with large differences from humans in general
How could you not? If you pay any attention to story it is heavily hinted in the main quest line as the examples in videos said. Along with other side quests.

I would like to say for your video:
As a Lalafell I greatly appreciate you actually speaking on the broad spectrum of all races and didn't exclude Lalafell/Dwarfs.
It's subjects like these that make Squenix devs drink to excess in karaoke bars.
from 10:40 when you talked about how the clans of each race has the potential to share names across the board as such:
F'lahminn is actually a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te, but was given a Keeper of the Moon model. (Taken from the FFXIV Wiki)
Appearance
Although a Seeker of the Sun, F'lhaminn has an appearance of a Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te, with white hair and pink eyes.
Magnai the Turbo Scrub, I feel at some point they have to help old boy get his Naama.
So hypothetically,
Lalafell Mom + Roegadyn Dad = Micro Roegadyn
Lalafell Dad + Roegadyn Mom = Giant Lalafell
microdyn
Gilafell
@@umbral2493 More like Gigafell
Tol-afell

Another example I'd bring up is the cute little Miqo'te girl that you meet in 5.3 who wants to be a WoL healer as she clearly shows traits of both Seeker of the Sun/Keeper of the Moon tribes. However, I will hold that until we see definitive proof of it in the game that many races may not be able to procreate with each other even if they SOMEHOW found a way to copulate despite their drastic differences. The genetic differences may simply be too great for it to happen very easily or at all which added to the difficulty accomplishing the later probably explains in a broad sense why it's not seen in the world.

I'm surprised he has other kids given he's a Tia lol
i submit that reproduction in eorzea is less physical and more metaphysical.

Ooooh tell me more about that eloping couple in Idyllshire!
So, I have a theory in the making. Garleans may not be from another star or shard. The only bit of evidence for this is that Thancrad lost his ability to use magic when passing through the etheric sea. I am assuming they may have been moved to escape a calamity on another star. But this is just speculation on my part.
Rielle (from the DRK story) is Elezen but also has dragon blood.
Finally! someone makes a good video about this topic tyvm goodwork!
First video I've seen from this channel, and I've subscribed. I love lore presented from an in-universe perspective!

I think it was Arenvald’s mother that tried to cut it out…
As for Sadu/Cirina/Magnai, it’s left wonderfully ambiguous in canon 🥰 Open to any interpretation you wish.
I’m still certain that Sadu is Magnai’s Moon (Enemies-to-lovers in the enemies stage), but he’s too fixated on his “a dancer in the morning mist” image of soulmate that he wants to realize it, so tries after Cirina and other women…
And Sadu and Cirina can be read both ways :)
From what I remember she was kind of losing it and cut his head because she thought he was growing the eye but I don't think he actually has one.

first, I love the image thumbnail.

@@runored1403 precisely, this star still has secrets to tell!
