Honda Grom Exhaust Review: $90 Ransoto vs. $600 Yoshimura RS-2 (Install Guide + Sound Comparisons)

- The stock exhaust on the Honda Grom leaves much to be desired, so I installed and compared three of the most popular exhausts on the market. The infamously cheap Amazon Ransoto / Kemimoto exhaust, the sought-after Yoshimura RS2 exhaust, and the ZoOM Loop exhaust.

I just bought an excellent-condition 2015 and as of this comment, the Ransoto system is still available and is only $80. I will be purchasing it. Thank you.
(10:33 amazon stock)
(11:06 amazon without baffle cap)
(11:34 amazon with baffle fully removed)
Thank u men..
in Indonesia you can buy the exhaust full system with price under $50, off course it's local brand but the quality is so good.
Betul tu apalagi buatan purbalingga dan sekitarnya
That zoom sounds insanely good
Zoom sounds good at idle and even better under load..Probably big surface area with the loop pipe which give a more mechanical look..the other two are nice but my first choice would be the zoom
I had a zoom on my 2015 Grom and it was 4 years later before I heard sound like mine now I’m riding a 2018 with the yoshi sounds ok but I miss my zoom comment if you like GROM FOR LIFE
Had a Yoshimura replaced it with a Zoom loop because I think it sounds better
I like the sound and the looks. So it doesn't always have to be expensive, to be nice! Nice upgrade Jake. Dutch regards, Nico.
(And guess what? I'm looking for an e93 335i 2008 manual at the moment. I'm so stoked!)
Awesome! Definitely going with this exhaust when I get my Grom!
ransoto sounds surprisingly good for 100 bucks. wish there were some cheaper full exhausts like that for my 450 :/
Grom and 335? We drive the same exact vehicles, I got the Grom to balance out the reliability of my BMW. Lmao.
Same here
Same here 😂

Very good video! Thanks for going into depth with each different sound.
just needs a yoshimura sticker on the amazon one.
Having had the Zoom loop exhaust and now the Yoshi pipe, the difference between them is that Yoshimura actually is a tuned pipe so therefor you get better performance. All the other pipes just make the bike sound louder. That is why the Yoshi pipes are more expensive and are worth every cent.
Do you get more top end?
So you are saying the .03HP increase over stock is worth the $600 for the yosh? Got ya!
Yoshi pipes on a sub 10hp bike is a waste of money. The power gains would be near immeasurable let alone feeling any different.
You might as well just buy the zoom and a big bore kit for around the same price of just the yoshi exhaust. Why don’t you just buy a 250l if you want more? that’s what I want to do
Just scooped my Grom last week! Ironically was just looking at this exhaust, it's just too painful to spend $500 on exhaust for a Grom. Think it's this and then some Michelin Power Pure tires next for me. Happy curb jumping man, these things are a blast
Did you get the exhaust?
@@ohad.5890 I did yes. The group I ride with all bought it and we all dig it. Sounds great IMO
@@pynacl6798 Just a question. I have a fake akrapovic laying around, but I don't want to put it on since it is illegal and can get my bike taken off the road and since it's a grom I can't run from cops. What do you do?
@@ohad.5890 what country are you in?

Down points are don’t over tighten the two 12mm header nuts because the flange will break (Its only tacked on bad quality)and fall on the ground dragging, also doesn’t have a bung for an O2 sensor so if your planning on going the ARacer or Dyno Jet ECU AF wide band route don’t get the cheap pipe because even if you weld a bung onto it the pipe will become very. brittle and will break off as well.

6:45 I typically heat the spring if it’s way to tight. Just a bit.
They make spring hooks, cheap and the easiest way to get a spring on.
I got the Amazon special and love it.
Tip. Wear gloves so fingerprints don’t burn into pipe. Put springs on first before installing on bike🤙🏼
If you rub the pipe down with wd40 on a cloth it will prevent fingerprint and anything else from burning in to the pipe.
@@loganmueller5275 good advice thanks dude
Whatever you do, no video can make justice to that Yoshimura.
I like the Amazon one the best honestly
ransoto seemed best sound for myself great video
Honestly I have to go with the Amazon exhaust on this one. The other two sound good down low but start turning into wet farts at higher rpms
From the video, they sound the same at normal riding speeds when accelerating. They only sound different at a stop when revving.
An amazon spring puller is worth its weight in gold!
Yoshimura wins of course but for the money, Ransoto is not bad at all!!!! Great video!
yoshimura still my favourite
Thank you for the video!
I just bought a mint condition MSX (Grom in Asia) with 1,400 Kilometers on it for $800. I can get the same style (but SC project copy) exhaust in Thailand for less than $30 delivered to my door. The "cheapie" sounds good in all three conditions to me...just a matter of how loud you want it.
Grom ftw🙏
Glad you're enjoying the Grom videos!
Thanks sharing this video!
For the price I love my zoom exhaust, mine isn’t the loop which is personally better for me as I do a shit load of enduro style riding. But I’d kill for a yoshi just unfortunately out of my range for the moment.
I have the ransoto I love it loud sounds great every gear looks nice and and 410 cheaper
I've been thinking about getting a Grom 🔥
Rookie To Pro I just got one
Do it! I don’t even touch my big bike.
will this fit a kawasaki z125 pro also?
Do you also have one of the aftermarket intakes and remapped ECM's ?
Yoshi Best Sound
Ransoto 2nd Best

Hey What's that aftermarket Tailight on the Neon bike??
NRC fender eliminator: amzn.to/39YSNtO
hello, have you changed the tire of 12, for a 13-inch?
For 100? not too bad of a sound. I'm not a big fan of the Zoom, but the ransoto sounds pretty dang good next to the Yoshimura
So performance wise is the yoshimura worth the money ?
those exhaust links don't work. have any new links for exhaust?
I prefer the zoom sound the best, but for 100. Can't go wrong with that Amazon pipe.
That's what I'm thinking. For the difference between the three, I'm happy with the Amazon exhaust and the extra cash in my pocket!
This is going to sounds like a dumb question, but If I get the ransoto exhaust do I have to do anything with a air to fuel ratio or can I just slap it on and call it a day (new to motorcycle sorry)
Usually when you open up your exhaust, you're making the air flow less restricted, you're leaning your engine out a little bit. Your engine is allowing to cycle more freely without as much restriction from the exhaust which means more fuel can be combusted. So yeah, you would need to retune your ecu by adding a little more fuel. It's not a dumb question, it's something a lot of people don't know about and I'm glad I've learned about it.
Hey thanks, wish you replied a year ago lol no worries dude. I don't have my Grom anymore I've since upgraded to a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. But yeah found all this out a bit after this video, but I appreciate the advice.
Great video.. Quick question.. when putting on a exhaust system. Do you need a tune?.
Heard you don’t need a tune but don’t quote me
I see the plate says Wisconsin where about are you ? Do you do group rides ?
what seat are you running?
The throttle looks like it responds way quicker with the baffle
Perhaps it's cuz of the back pressure.. Nothing restricting the air flow and thus creating a pause when giving it a gas.. Definitely sounds better, but it will decrease the responsiveness and I think it needs a remap.
Ok, perhaps this is commenting way too early, but, why is the bike cherry mint condition and the exhaust is all banged up and scratched up? For what it's for I think that this cheapo exhaust is beautiful and I want to see the bike it came off of.
does this also fit in a 2022 grom?
No difference whatsoever i don’t understand people paying £600 for an exhaust on a grom I bought mine for £35 and it sounds exactly same as a zoom loop + spits flames
The Yoshi wins it (at a price) 😊👍
This is a well thought out vudeo
Bro can I use that exhaust on my msx 125,but mine engine is all standard
Omg what u got a Grom also? I bought a 2020 Grom earlier this year also
What torque figures did you use for the cylinder bolts?
i think zoom sounded the best
I would choose the zoom exhaust the price is nice!!!
but we got strict noise and emission regulations over here so i paid 600€ for a street legal exhaust that’s crazy but it’s all about the money I guess 💰
Can't just get a cat-back slip on?
Awesome.
where did you find the fairing ????
They sound pretty close I mean the cheap one is probably worth it for the savings
Who cares about the name brand. Slap any new can on it and ride out. 😎
Yes
Just cause u pay $600 for the yoshi doesn't make it any better than the $200 exhaust. They sound exactly the same.
Mounted wrong at the rear. Should be mounted behind the swing arm using the bracket you didn't use initially
I mean , I’m getting a 250 for my first bike and plan to get a 600 in a few years . So it doesn’t make sense to get the Yoshimura for the 250 when imma want it as soon as I get the 600
Both sounds like tricycle with stock exhaust
More 335i content plssssssss 😬
used a shoelace to get spring on
Just had my new orange 2020 Grom dropped off a few hours ago.
Zoom and Ransoto for the win. U dont need to spend a ton on an exhaust for these
6:19tell me you don’t put you face over a spring under tension. Annnnnnd he’s doing it lol.
nice bike sir
Why not a new exhaust gasket?
Because he's cheap lol
Sounds like all the same rolling 😎 Mb the zoom a bit louder.
Seems like you would lose some HP without the baffle in my opinion
If I were you , I would have restored bend piep and used amazon muffler
yoshi is pretty quiet
Idk if this sounds rude but from one glasses wearer to another please push your glasses down lol they look slightly too high.
How is this what the title says,
Should have done a pass with the ransoto baffle removed
Surely get back to the car content 👏🏽
Check my latest video ;)
I have a 2020 grom would the ransoto fit on my grom? Thanks
Yea, I liked the Yosh till I looked at the cost. It was a WTF moment, that 25% of what the bike cost me!!!!
Don’t recommend running without baffle
sorry but yoshimura all the way!!!!the idle sounds way better but to be honest on the driveby the all sound exactly the same
So way better, but the same? Gotcha!
@@rudykreinheder7920 yoshimura idle 1 ransoto idle 0 driver by yoshimura 1 ransoto 1 total points yoshimura 2 ransoto 1
Same sound
I have the ransoto, I just wanna know if taking out the db killer is bad or anything, I can’t find a definitive answer. Anyone know?
No. As long as you don’t change to a different intake or air filter then the stock ecu can handle the differences with or without the db killer. But you will get more power gains with a fuel programmer.
@@Adv.Wannabe he might be carbed no ecu
Yoshimura is the giggest scam going. The quality is without question but the price is a total scam
They all always just sound like a little dirt bike. lol
You never removed the BAFFLE. you just removed the restrictor. If you had taken the muffler apart and removed to ACTUAL BAFFLE it would have been much louder and sounded like shit.
🗿🗿
What's wrong with the exhaust kid? It sounds terribly dated and loud, it seems that the engine's really strugling. Get the exhaust fixed.
This isn't a sport bike, it's essentially a lawn mower engine. Did you even watch the whole video?
@@jake_spence No. I don't watch videos I only comment based on the title of the video.
@@kimriley2491 hahahahah
I don't understand why people change the exhaust just for the sound/look. It's a big waste of money so you can say, "Hey, look at me! I also use filters in social media!" Save your money if you have a stock exhaust.
Why would you get an illegal exhaust on a grom? You can't run from the cops on it (unless you're in a group ride) and, well, it is illegal. so?
Maybe illegal if you live in Communist California lol. No offense; just being honest.
I think it depends on your state laws. Me might not live in a democratic state where they outlaw dirt bikes.
