Timestamps in description! (if someone can help me figure out why my chapters aren't working I'd be grateful, I've tried a bunch of stuff) Just a few clarifications/revisions: - This list will be revisited next season with your feedback + sandbox changes + new weapons! :D - Cryosthesia's LN2 burst has splash freeze! - Outbreak was definitely undersold here, probably the biggest ranking miss but it's still D, that being said we'll move it up in D next season! - Revision Zero's regular pulse shots also receive Barrier capabilities.
as long as Trials draws players there will be cheaters but if they keep making the loot easier to get it wont be as exclusive and there will be less maybe lol
Something else about Leviathan’s Breath is that it does 30% increased damage to Champions intrinsically. Even when you’re underleveled, it will kill any champion in 2-3 shots. While it’s decent for boss DPS, it’s true place is master lost sectors and GM content where it will annihilate any champion you glance at
Yeah it does great in champ content as well, I didn't give it too much of a mention because of rocket dominance / exotic primary dominance in fireteam / solo instances there but it certainly shines if the situation calls for it (like solo Insight Terminus for example on void surge)
I think one thing that’s very nice about Quicksilver is that the grenades gain whatever modifier QS has, so being able to one shot barriers with the nades is nice.
@@ballpython365 honestly the lack of self-damage might be my favorite part of the grenade mode, it's so underrated being able to just blast a group of thralls that closed in on you during a GM run. Saved my life on more than one occasion.
Just an FYI for those that don’t know: Monte Carlo’s new catalyst is chain-able. Marakov chain x5 is triggered either on 5 quick kills or on a single melee kill. And kills with the catalyst retriggers x5 Marakov chain! TL;DR, swashbuckler on caffeine.
22:00 Cranial Spike used to have like 40% pve damage increase, i remember melting majors and champs with DMT, but Bungie nerfed it to like 15%, what a underserved nerf...
@@TheAegisRelici doubt that was the case here since bungie has shown time and time again they can make buffs do different percentages in different gamemodes. They purposefully chose for it to be 15% in pve.
I’ve been playing this in the background for the last 15 mins and thought to myself…”damn son, we only gone through a few how long is this going to be? Looked and saw this comment. Yea I like it!!! Mad props to this man taking the time. I’ll watch this a couple times over the week. Different pace for content and I appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!
So happy to see huckleberry getting some credit they really need to rename the rampage perk on it because most players don't even know how good rampage was pre shadowkeep. Definitely my fav ad clear weapon for general content
Something you missed about grand overture is that you can proc its buff on immune targets so at any boss where the boss is there, but immune you can proc the perk, then rally flag, for free volley at the very start. It is niche, but it definitely should bump it up a bit more
I'm fully aware - my team used that factor to one floor Caretaker in the current Vow record, but it's still not a selling point that brings it above Parasite.
You should have these tier list images saved and whenever weapons get changed just come back and adjust and discuss the weapon changes and how they affect ranking
the problem with most bad exotics is that they’re just legendaries with one or two additional trait equivalents (Ace of Spades, etc), or a slightly boosted version of a trait (Crimson, etc), or soley focused on their gimmick without a single trait equivalent (Cerberus, etc).
This is actually necrochasm’s problem right now. Even after the buff bungie just announced to give it “one for thrall” I think it will still only be a better auto rifle than legendary but really not that great.
some of these are more pvp based imo. like ace having radar at all times with high cal and momento mori like that screams pvp. and thats fine since not every exotic has to be pve and pvp
but ace of spades isn't a "bad weapon" it's just not made for pve.doesnt mean its bad.thats like calling legend of acreius a bad weapon just because you don't use it in pvp
I appreciate you so consistently putting out guides that are so easy to access and reference. Has definitely taken away much of the fear and uncertainty I've had approaching a lot of endgame content in the past. Your videos and data have also shifted some of my philosophy when crafting and chasing weapons. Would you ever do a guide separate from your tier lists talking about the "ideal" roll or specific use cases for perks for each weapon type or archetype? I had a clanmate particularly confused about the reasoning why one would choose something like One Two Punch on rapid-fire shotguns over Trench Barrel or Ionized Battery over Enhanced on some fusions despite the upfront downsides, and while I could explain the general idea it can be hard to get the point across without numbers available. Thanks for all you provide!
I love that xeno is the most perfect C tier weapon. Its not amazing at anything but its never really a terrible option. It just does what it needs to do especially for newer players. But it has been outclassed by so many other heavy exotics.
@True-cx3uy I am assuming you're talking about trials and competitive playlist? Unfortunately most competitive games will have cheaters but in turn have better anti cheat software, but Destiny 2 doesn't really care about PvP as much as PvE, so it sucks playing pvp on anything other than console (I know you can cheat on console but it is harder than pc). But fortunately the Pvp team are getting more active these days
Instead of Occam's Razor, this is Aegis' Razor. Having a noise-free recommendation that so narrowly focuses on the high-end of endgame is more useful than I'd expected. As a lower tier player, I can apply this harsh logic to simplify my gear-choice decisions, and save me time from needlessly "testing" some curious interaction. Second, the "Meta-defining" term is very smart indeed. Because you're so right that those weapons aren't just great, but shape all the other weapon choices you make, so consequently every other ranking falls in line to the meta which those at the apex have defined. Great work, really helpful.
I really really miss the days where Anarchy was in its prime with 26 ammo in reserves and a fair bit of damage to go a long it. For solo stuff it was a dream.
yeah but the bigger issue I think even without anarchy's nerf is that they made witherhoard witherhoard just does with one shot what anarchy does with two and it's not a heavy weapon so you could use a bait and switch rocket or lmg for adds or something regardless anarchy definitely didn't deserve the reserve nerf, that kinda straight up ruined its whole niche by severely limiting how much area you can actually cover
Ok everything in this is good but outbreak being under necro and crimson is nuts to me. The nanites spread from a headshot kill does decent clear and makes focusing down a major in the group way easier. Like I can agree it's not a c tier but I'd say it's closer to hierarchy. Maybe its just me but necro feels like ass in gms and should be quite a bit lower. Other than that I agree on everything else. Well done.
It was crimson being in D tier and under rat king for me. I know it probably won't pack the same punch with Titans or Warlocks, but who cares bout them 💀. In addition, he was talking about every other hand cannon paired with lucky pants except the best one. That got to me. When it comes to Hunters tho...this thing is B-A tier for me. It's perfectly designed for lucky pants. Add to that, kinetic surge mods and radiant make it even better. Let's not forget the extra heals and passive reloading. It is also perfect paired with a bait & switch/impact casing cold comfort and reservoir burst eremite combo for boss dmg phase. With all that I'm usually at top dps.
Leviathans Breath, Wish Ender and Merciless have always been some of my favorite extoics (even though they were so bad) so I was so happy with the buffs they got making them so strong. Almost always have one or the other on! Now I just need 1K to get a good buff!!
Dead Messenger + Gyrfalcon is a very cool combo that gives you similar performance to chain reaction, but it's such a niche setup that I wouldn't say it would raise the tier placement either way. It's also eating the exotic slot you probably want for something else (like Leviathan's Breath or Tractor or Gally). Still, good to know and fun to use. I tried it a bit on contest Ir Yut but ended up just going back to Hollowed Denial.
I love Renewals with the new Crucible smg, Unending Tempest that rolls with Demo/Headstone and Dead Messenger with Demo. Pretty great build for constant nade spam.
@@TheAegisRelicyeah, that's pretty much why I said it's not relevant for changing the position you already gave it. it's just worth knowing about as lots of people like using Gyrfalcon and haven't tried using the combo, and you can always swap off Gyrfalcon once you get to DPS phase if you're using void hunter for tether
Agar's is so sad because more than anything its a reflection of how stasis as an element is doing. its literally the perfect stasis weapon and somehow its still not enough to make stasis worthwhile.
I use conditional in GMs with strand titan, lets you freeze barriers even after they pop their barrier if you go into the barrier, and obv it works well vs unstopps. Can even handle overloads by freezing them and then bursting them with 1-2 punch
For Vexcalibur, the overshield also is applied to all other teammates which are close, also you basically just need a tiny bit of overshield, as soon as you stab-kill any enemy you get maxed overshield instant.
Vex cal is def the best of all the other glaives I literally used it in its own mission to clear it, it gives good survivability. Tho it's still a glaive.
“which boss does the most DPS” was a funny joke. But this one is a serious question: could you do a video on primaries from your end game perspective? But rather than slogging through tier lists of hundreds of primaries, you could just release a video basically doing an in-depth explanation of how we can tier our own primaries. Perk utilities, philosophy of use, archetype competition, then maybe sprinkle a couple S tier options. Obvi speed runs dry heave at the thought of primary weapons, so weight it towards like master raids, lost sectors, GMs, master dungeons, etc. PLEASEEE ?
20:33 it's a measuring stick. It's a virtual ruler. That's it (Graviton, the center of my ad clear build, being in c tier makes me want to cry, I mean it's the definition of room go boom when volatile is easy to keep up, paired with devour you're more unkillable then a Lorelei Titan)
Oh yeah, minor Coldheart tip while I'm here: you don't have to continuously fire the gun to keep ramping the buff or generating traces. you can just tap fire it. you have about 1sec before the buff falls off and it will continue to ramp during that time. you can end up making an ionic trace in like 3-5 ammo if your timing is on point, and every 2 ammo after that. is this particularly useful? doubt it. but maybe it'll come up for y'all someday!
I complained in the last tier lists about your ratings being rather unfocused and inconsistent. This feels much better much more consistent with itself and I honestly found very little to complain about. Good work
This list was all over the place. The contradicted his own rating system and reasoning like 10 times. Claiming that Levi breath is a good exotic for ease of use over sleeper was laughable. That's completely false, and makes me wonder whether or not this person actually plays at all. He ranked multiple weapons lower because they were only viable in GM content with champs, but it's an endgame ranking list......which is just GMs and content with champs. This list was horrible.
@@FlashesSoccer011He said sleeper was also shit because it has awful dps. Maybe listen next time? Also if you think gm content and champ content is all endgame has to offer in destiny 2, you suck at the game.
By your own logic you think Sleeper is a better exotic in your restricted version of endgame content (GMs and champ content) than Levi? If you're going to criticize me for contradicting myself at least be consistent within the same sentence let alone me being consistent in the same 2 hour video lmao
Sad to see Witherhoard suffer such a fall from grace. It's such a fun weapon to use, especially to snipe with, so here's to hoping it has a return to form in the future!
Black talon was used to break a blight as it was spawning in Ehroar's former nightfall speed run wr. That was YEARS ago but it was such a cool Ideia and precise execution that I never forgot it. Not saying it deserves to be higher in the list because it doesn't but look this up if you haven't yet. Really cool stuff.
Conditional finality can “stun” Barrier Champs too if you use the freeze shot while inside their bubble. Pretty niche, but lets it deal with two types of champions.
Eh sort of, people tend to list that as a benefit but then in the same breath complain about Barriers instantly reshielding with other forms of stasis, I've never found it to be particularly effective or a selling point
Borealis has had such a fall from grace from year 1. It used to be a HUGE damage buff that lasted until you realoaded (insane with luna boots) but now they nerfed the damage buff, and you cant even have it forever with holster mods or transversive steps? The hell did borealis do to bungie? Couple things I want to add to a few exotics. Hierarchy of needs feels soooo close to being a high tier exotic. They need to make it a bit easier to get the ring up and just make the mini rockets always do full damage. (Id personally make it work like parasite and need 15 charges for a ring, but any kill at all builds them [bow kills give 3 charges]) Lorentz driver is pretty fun awesome as well in my opinion. If you get the perk up, it does more damage per shot than a heavy linear with firing line. And the gun and sound design are just so unique. The thing *feels* exotic(If I were able to change this weapon, I'd have it kill marked targets to charge the perk, then hold reload to activate the buff.) Necro needs to just explode, reload, and activate desperation on any kill, honestly. Also, heres to hoping tesselation catalyst speeds up the nade animation and removes the charge time from the missile!
1:17:39 my issue with this, is I’m not running double special; yes, I will be using a primary weapon a lot especially in a GM, I’m gonna use the one that shreds anti barrier champions, it’s also strand, meaning it always has a surge on. And the synergy quicksilver has with strand builds is so good! I’d say it needs to be higher, A tier at least!
I used eyes of tomorrow in this week's gm and it's pretty good since there is a ton of ads. The only bad thing is close range encounters. But it's pretty fun.
I've killed myself with it in gms more times than I care to admit lol for anyone who's looking to try it, remember to tag targets and then shoot it at the sky because anything can cause one of the rocket to detonate in your face.
I admire Bungie's ability to keep making new "Shoot to get stacks then convert to alt fire/proc kaboom" exotic primaries while keeping them slightly distinct. There's like 10 of them lol
There is no way I would choose Necrochasm, Crimson, or Bad Juju over Outbreak. That is crazy. All those guns feel horrible under power. At least Outbreak scales a little better with nanites and has decent aoe with precision kills. Just because Touch exists shouldnt drop Outbreak so low. It still performs well in GMs and does things outside boss dps.
Only way I would put outbreak under C-tier is if you don't have the catalyst, only seasonal mods keep it from being my permanent everything but raid gun
I would like to see a legendary version of this tier list broken down by ammo type but just sort all the weapons that belong in D tier out and only address relevent options.
I love Deathbringer, one of my absolute favorite exotics , and it hurts my heart as to how accurate the rating and analysis was. Also, my Gyrfalcon’s Hunter loves Collective Obligation and so do I!
to be fair for the graviton lance, it shoots out 2 homing projectiles that will explode on contact which can chain its effect very well, and its catalyst gives overshield on enemy shield breaks, and the damage from it is increased by 20% against bosses, great for just clearing large rooms of enemies with the chaining
Loved this, I will say my only complaint is you went in on some of the higher ranked Exotics and focused mostly on their downsides(like Izanagi's or Witherhoard) rather than talking about their strengths while doing the opposite with some low rank Exotics, so to less knowledgeable players it might come off very contradictory and strange. That's not to say listing off some of their cons is bad, but it can definitely be confusing when most of the breakdown is "It's not that good/overrated/fall from grace" followed by placing it in A/B tier. That being said, this is very informative all around and hopefully Bungie buffs some of the underperformers that could genuinely be viable or strong Exotics in endgame content even with simple changes.(Also for the love of god buff AR damage in PvE)
Thanks for the feedback! When I revisit this list I'll definitely try to have a more structured approach so every exotic gets both pros and cons mentioned, this was kinda just me unscripted ranting for 2 hours lol
I'm happy Forerunner dodged D tier, it's not amazing but it's good enough. I'm especially happy with Lumina and Leviathan's Breath being so high, so many people would tell me to take off Leviathan's day one root only to then see me being the highest or at least higher damage on the team. Love those 3 exotics.
I really appreciate the content that you're putting out, man. I've inadvertently learned many skills on my own because of your videos, and I've improved substantially as a player and am continuing to do so, and I'm actually excited about it. Thank you for doing what you do, I'm certain that no matter what corner of the world you choose to put your thought, personality, and skill to, that place would be better because of you. Be well.
Thanks for the kind words! As for the content, I'm not sure if it fits the definition of recycled, given that I've never made an exotic weapon tier list before...
I dunno if it's been mentioned but I've used ruinous quite a bit with Verity. It has a funny interaction where the ball gives throes since the ball still counts as a weapon kill, so I like to pull it out if I'm doing content like savathun spire where enemies die to pretty much anything anyway. Only thing I wanted to clarify is that you can't throw the ball. When you said throw, I assume you meant how you like slam dunk it, but with the elemental orb season we're in currently where we actually do throw them, I just wanted to mention it since that could cause some slight confusion to players unfamiliar with it.
Leviathan's Breath is also the best utility weapon outside of Tractor Cannon. The ability to permastun a boss allows for Lament and other swords or close range weapons without fear of being stomped.
Doesn't work on most bosses and certainly not reliable enough to allow for typically non-melee bosses to use melee damage (also that's not even applicable in the current sandbox) whereas Tractor works unconditionally through shielding and has insanely high uptime and versatile effects on top of being the best 30% debuff source in the game
I'd like to note with Collective Obligation that it has another extremely potent and powerful effect aside from extending weaken timers. It has the unique ability to spread Suppression. Typically Suppress is a localized debuff that only comes from Shadowshot Tether or the Shield Bash melee or Suppressor Grenade, but Collective has the ability to spread Suppression all over a battlefield. It essentially acts as an "off switch" for Minors and Majors. Anything that's not a Boss enemy gets essentially removed from combat for a period of time while you spray bullets wherever you want. It's extremely potent with shutting entire GM rooms down to allow teammates to deal with dangerous adds and it even has the unique capability of stunning both Barrier and Overload Champions at the same time with any Volatile Rounds and Suppression leech. Just activate Void Leech and toss a grenade to get a kill and you can stun whatever of those Champions that you want. It's *very* nice.
The worst thing about edge of intent is you can’t do the exotic reload for the healing turret with zero in the mag, so if you hit all 4 of the shots, which it only has 4 in the mag, you have to reload first then you can do the special reload
It's probably going to make the charged shot apply elemental debuffs matching it's element since it's whole schtick is shaping itself to fit your current build.
Really appreciate all the content you've been giving us on these tier lists! I've always watched these types of videos but you're great at being honest, sometimes the weapon you love does actually kinda suck and you need to see it in comparison with everything else. A friend of mine has recently been getting sweaty in PvE, finally joining in on 2 man dungeons, solo dungeons and even a couple lowman raid attempts and the info you've been giving lately has really helped me explain loadout choices and the such to him! Love the content bro, keep up the hard work! And RIP your throat after this one, must've been rough!
I'll put this here about Revision Zero, the anti barrier is intrinsic. The normal fire mode stuns barrier champs. You don't need to overplay into it for AB.
@@TheAegisRelic I mean switching our loadouts during runs to be more efficient for whatever the needs call for. You know the preset loadouts, to the left in our character screen
@@TheAegisRelic not sure if tis the right time for this content and not sure exactly which direction one would go. I do know you def have the best weapon tier list to date on youtube. Thx for the convo . Joined you on twitch .
Even put time stamps in the description, goated creator. First time viewer here, d1 vet and only played in the early days of d2, I cameback last weekend and omg I'm already addicted and the qol changes are great. Beside the absurd monetisation everything is great.
Bro it sounds like you mean Endgame SPEEDRUN and not just end game. You write off so lany optimal weapons for endgame thats viable. Coldheart is easily viable in endgame, at minimum B tier. Its higher damage output than most traces along with ionic traces pairs perfectly with arc builds especially warlocks. Paired with the blinding on special weapon kills. You talk about ability uptime being good but this helps excell. Idk just weird how inconsistent some of this listing can be.
@artur3306 you clearly never ran gm with cold heart. It has high ammo count and deals more damage than a regular trace making it viable against majors and champs not just redbars. Learn to master builds instead of chugging down dick
Yeah this list is in fact for optimal endgame PvE You could make an argument that some exotics should be moved up in less optimal scenarios but I wouldn't use Coldheart as a counterargument of all things It does excel on Stormcaller but that is one subclass and keep in mind what its company is in B tier: weapons like Arbalest, Witherhoard, and and Divinity are unquestionably better overall
I honestly cannot believe you rated the outbreak perfected in the D tier. The gun is so good for literally everything. Boss damage, ad clear, damage while youre out of ammo on other things, making orbs of power, it deserves so much better than D tier.
I think Delicate Tomb is massively slept on, it does some crazy things that Coldheart can't and it's carried me through tons of end game solo content this season. For as long as you're amplified (which is dead easy to become most of the time), >every< shot you do hits with jolt, no reloads required. So it's got way more output than anything with voltshot, and ionic traces refill the mag so you have practically 100% uptime with it. But what's most valuable is that as an arc special, you can pair it with the amplified arc special kills = arc blind fragment, and the blinding effect chains to every enemy who gets hit with the jolt. So it has double champion stun utility, and incinerates ads while leaving blind staggering jolted majors stumbling around to feast on On top of all that it's a rapid fire frame and buffs your movement speed noticeably, which plays really well into arc alongside the handling, movement and reload buffs amplified gives you.
On Bad Juju, it traditionally hasn't really been relevant even when players are trying to force super generation. It's been featured a lot in builds on days 1 and 2 after the last few big sandbox updates but then better ways to generate super are found and it goes back in the vault.
As a Hierarchy main, i disagree with your placement. Sure, the bow can't stun any champions or cause scorch/ignition, however, even without all those aspects the capability it has for cleaning entire rooms of enemies and recover your super really fast due to the seeking projectiles (just like bad juju does) makes this weapon a top pick for me in GMs, and about the ring charge, it's really not that difficult to get the charges back. That being said, i'd put in top C tier (above Graviton Lance), because it's definitely not a waste of an exotic slot, at least for GMs.
While it does have good super regen once the guidance ring is active, I don't think that's enough to pull it over the more consistent gameplay of something like Graviton
I feel like this tier list is more of a raid tier list than for general endgame. Primarily it seems like a lot of the weapons are focused just for boss dmg/dps and obviously exotic heavys and some specials are going to outshine primaries. The main gripe i have is that some of the primaries weren't considered for GMs - specifically, quicksilver and le monarque. Le monarque + gyrrfalcon is such a staple for solo gms and quicksilver almost functions like a trace rifle with moni rockets and grenade. The grenades instantly break barrier shields and also synergizes with the strand aspect that spawns tangles. Idk most of the weapons are fair but those two just made me realize how the list seems to cater to raids more than GMs
Some of the primaries weren't considered for GMs? Did you skip to the end... :sob: Half the people commenting rn about how I didn't talk about Coldheart/QSS/etc. in GMs legit didn't watch the timestamps for those weapons I stg
I've been listening to this in the car so I haven't gotten to the end yet, also by no means am I trying to shit talk you or anything negative! Just the general vibe I got coming from a solo player who does solo dungeons and GMs
I absolutely love the brutality of his ranking. No feeling spared. The weapons you love are trash and you need to hear it. I needed to hear it. Be like that sometimes
Last thing is I think you should add E tier and F tier because the D tier is kinda not fair for some weapons (for example jade rabbit is an F I don’t think it should be in the same tier as verglas curve and whisper etc) Good video overall 👍
As someone who mains Stasis, I can tell you haven't really used some of these weapons to their fullest potential, not to sound like a dick but did you even use these with a Stasis subclass? Verglas with Fissures and Rending in Legendary content and below is an S tier primary ad clearing machine. Getting 200+ kills with Verglas alone in Nightfalls consistently makes it an S tier ad clearing exotic for any stasis build. It's fun getting almost 300 kills and your teammates both getting less than 100. Constant nade regen helps so much more than just freezing enemies with Ager's. Now it's a waste of an exotic slot in difficulty tiers above that. Pure dog water in GM's and master content even with the 43% damage boost from Rending. I can say it works for day one raids because this is what I used for Crota. Wicked is S tier for Master or GM content, handle unstops and overloads at safe distances, something that's a little risky to do with a Riptide and headstone gives you nade regen on shatter which is great and with Rending you get a 43% damage boost to frozen targets which in a GM should be often and while it's still a good weapon in difficulty levels below that, there's better weapons to use. B tier for normal content. When using a Stasis subclass, this is my personal opinion, Riptide is pointless. Good for other subclasses, but when we can apply slow intrinsically, why would we ever use Riptide instead of the exotics? Ager's - B tier personally. In Heroic/Legendary and below I still prefer Verglas and the Hunter and Titan super is super valuable to help with crowd control and a waste of a super using the Ager's Caty, Verglas has no ammo management and for Master and GM content, I still prefer to use Wicked and both weapons can grant increased grenade regen. Cryosthesia - For Titans, D tier, for Hunters, C tier and Warlocks, B tier. Pairs better with warlock. But is overshadowed by the three exotics above. Salvation's - D tier for Warlock and C tier for Hunters and Titans. It's fun shattering crystals but the ammo economy is awful. If it ever gets a catalyst, it should increase ammo reserves by double the amount. Winterbite - Between C and B. For Ad heavy activities, one shot freezes the entire room allowing for good emergency crowd control and it deals really good melee damage to champs. I use it in lost sectors a lot. The huge shot's damage is lackluster now after the nerfs.
And another thing about Verglas. In a Legend Savathun's Spire, Verglas outpaced a Banner of War Titan on Kills. Thought it was a fluke, ran a couple more times and again, had a little more than a 100 kill difference.
Stasis itself is objectively the weakest endgame subclass atm so anything that forces synergy with it is inherently weaker in endgame content, even if Verglas is potent. (like I mention in the video) Most of your critique is centered around this idea: that IF you are using stasis, the balance changes. This tier list is designed around the current sandbox's optimal gameplay setups - if and when stasis becomes more potent, we will certainly see tier shifts which I will document in future seasons.
Definitely agree with Bastion being underrated. Most of my loadouts for solo high level content revolve around an intrinsic exotic primary and experimenting with bastion has been pleasantly surprisingly.
Thank you for your content Aegis. I’ve been getting into endgame content outside of GMs more and it’s been so enlightening to hear your thought process as a speed runner
My team used Div and Thunderlord to two phase Ir Yut on our day 1. It might not be great DPS, but the ease of use goes crazy, not to mention being great for ad clear. For top teams it doesnt matter, but for mid to lower tier endgame players the ability to remove 1 thing to think about is incredible. Not that the tiers should change, just that there is an arguement for them, we hit top 400 for the 1st time as well, though that was mostly a really fast 2nd clear with challenges. (I was using div and Cenotaph to generare ammo and tried to convince them to run Levis breath instead, but the punishment for missing a shot with it is pretty high and she does move a fair bit so they chose thundylore)
The best thing I like about QSS isn't just the GL feature, but the nano tracer rockets. I know that's basically just an origin trait, but it really helps when you're "just using an auto rifle"
Really great content. Polaris for me was the big surprise. It's niche, you really need to build into detonations, but it's been in a godsend in this week's GM for clearing rooms and built in unstop. I like it much better than ticcu's.
To note, Revision Zero's pulse shots are also anti-barrier.....unless that's been changed (mine's been collecting dust in my vault for a couple seasons now).
Ace of spades is still goated for me in pve… there’s enough legendaries for special and heavy where I don’t need an exotic in those slots May not be optimal but it’s meaningful, and I even have a tattoo of it on my thigh lol
2:10:02 I love using this weapon in GMs because I'm not sure about the blocking stats but it IS a glaive so you have that option for damage reduction, plus you literally shoot out a slow moving turret that insta-freezes any enemy so you can get revives in tough to reach areas. It synergizes really well with the subclass and it does decent damage. PLUS the on demand slow effect on the melees that can ramp up to freeze a target with just a single ammo in the mag (infinite chill clip). With the stasis warlock subclass aspect and fragment you can freeze other targets near you and receive damage reduction when near frozen targets. Might be good on titan as well once they buff stronhold or synthos to work with glaives
Me being a content creator doesn't really have anything to do with what I recommend for damage, and this channel's entire purpose is to help newer players improve their skill and understanding in endgame content. If that's not your cup of tea, that's fine! But I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
Maybe im a D2 boomer but I hate rockets so much. Dont care if it does the most DPS, people cant stop killing themselves and missing. I have made it my life to run anything except rockets, and show everyone else that every time i use not rockets, Sleeper/Leviathan's/Thunderlord/etc., i do the most damage. And i do, every time.
Most deaths like that is because a teammate runs in front of someone with a rocket. They shoot it and then they die. Most of the time it's not even the person with the rocket that's the cause of the death it's the teammates
I feel like people really under Cryosthesia. It doesn't freeze one enemy. It's alt fire acts like a Hunters first 1/2 Stasis Super. It freezes multiple enemies that are nearby that enemy.
Yeah that's my bad, the splash freeze is nice, I don't think it exits D tier but it certainly moves up with that knowledge, we'll readjust it next season :D
I think my pick in the "waaaah Aegis underrated a weapon" genre is probably Delicate Tomb. The main problem with it IMO is that the double special nerf happened and so it's harder to justify now, especially when you can't run a trace. The niche it fills is "I want massive redbar clear a la Trinity Ghoul, but I want to trade infinite ammo and range for being more useful on majors, and also jolt synergy and ionic traces." Thing is, you can run Riptide or a GL and get many of the same benefits on bigger targets and then still have Trinity Ghoul; there isn't really a legendary primary that makes sense to run with Delicate Tomb. A scout rifle? A hand cannon? And then the arc 3.0 synergy isn't all that relevant because the most relevant Arc subclass is Hunter, which accomplishes everything you'd want to do with Delicate Tomb using Combination Blow instead. All that being said, it's still a 500ms charge time fusion with a mag refresh perk, intrinsic overload and AOE damage from jolt, and ability regen. I don't think I'd move it out of D tier this season (last season I could have seen it), but I certainly don't see myself dropping it for, like, Bad Juju or Skyburner's.
Timestamps in description! (if someone can help me figure out why my chapters aren't working I'd be grateful, I've tried a bunch of stuff)
Just a few clarifications/revisions:
- This list will be revisited next season with your feedback + sandbox changes + new weapons! :D
- Cryosthesia's LN2 burst has splash freeze!
- Outbreak was definitely undersold here, probably the biggest ranking miss but it's still D, that being said we'll move it up in D next season!
- Revision Zero's regular pulse shots also receive Barrier capabilities.
You mentioned sunshot has scorch but it doesn't have any solar keywords, at least not yet. Still solid

Oh yeah. Champs get vaulted when you use leviathan + grenades.
I think one thing that’s very nice about Quicksilver is that the grenades gain whatever modifier QS has, so being able to one shot barriers with the nades is nice.
And the grenades don't do self damage.

Something you missed about grand overture is that you can proc its buff on immune targets
so at any boss where the boss is there, but immune you can proc the perk, then rally flag, for free volley at the very start.

That's the plan :)
I love how 1k never even got nerfed. It got fixed. The thing just needs a flat damage boost. IT'S A RAID EXOTIC
the problem with most bad exotics is that they’re just legendaries with one or two additional trait equivalents (Ace of Spades, etc), or a slightly boosted version of a trait (Crimson, etc), or soley focused on their gimmick without a single trait equivalent (Cerberus, etc).
a lot of this is likely because of internal “do stuff” limits on a single weapon
Idc Cerberus is amazing
Yeah sure I'll do a core list of weapons type video and explain each
I love that xeno is the most perfect C tier weapon. Its not amazing at anything but its never really a terrible option. It just does what it needs to do especially for newer players. But it has been outclassed by so many other heavy exotics.
I'd love to see a primary tier list in the same format of the more recent lists. This has been a great series of videos
Same, but hot damn, that would be like a 4 hour video with the ammount of legendary primaries that we have hahaha.

2 hours of aegis content? Christmas is in 2 months bro. Seriously you are a blessing upon this community and thank you for everything you do
@True-cx3uy I am assuming you're talking about trials and competitive playlist?
Appreciate the specific observations and feedback!
I really really miss the days where Anarchy was in its prime with 26 ammo in reserves and a fair bit of damage to go a long it. For solo stuff it was a dream.
yeah but the bigger issue I think even without anarchy's nerf is that they made witherhoard
witherhoard just does with one shot what anarchy does with two and it's not a heavy weapon so you could use a bait and switch rocket or lmg for adds or something
regardless anarchy definitely didn't deserve the reserve nerf, that kinda straight up ruined its whole niche by severely limiting how much area you can actually cover
Well done.
Fair enough, I probably did underrate Outbreak a little
@@TheAegisRelic you dont get flinched on top of it too, it should've been a little higher indeed
But still, your tier lists are amazing
What I've learned from these tier lists, you love yourself a GL.
I mean you can say the same thing about anything with Volatile lol
@@TheAegisRelicyeah, that's pretty much why I said it's not relevant for changing the position you already gave it. it's just worth knowing about as lots of people like using Gyrfalcon and haven't tried using the combo, and you can always swap off Gyrfalcon once you get to DPS phase if you're using void hunter for tether
Agar's is so sad because more than anything its a reflection of how stasis as an element is doing. its literally the perfect stasis weapon and somehow its still not enough to make stasis worthwhile.
Yeah...
Yeah for a glaive Vexcalibur really leans into that defensive vision a lot better than the other exotics
Vex cal is def the best of all the other glaives I literally used it in its own mission to clear it, it gives good survivability. Tho it's still a glaive.
gonna listen to this entire thing during my fasted cardio. too kind giving us a 2 hour video like this.
PLEASEEE ?

Good work
Thanks! Working on it :)
Thanks for pointing that out! I wasn't around during that time, but that's a good shout (I think someone else also pointed that out)
Conditional finality can “stun” Barrier Champs too if you use the freeze shot while inside their bubble. Pretty niche, but lets it deal with two types of champions.
Eh sort of, people tend to list that as a benefit but then in the same breath complain about Barriers instantly reshielding with other forms of stasis, I've never found it to be particularly effective or a selling point
Once the Pulse buff happens, Collective Obligation will smack. People forget that once you activate it, you also get Kill Clip essentially.
(Id personally make it work like parasite and need 15 charges for a ring, but any kill at all builds them [bow kills give 3 charges])
Lorentz driver is pretty fun awesome as well in my opinion. If you get the perk up, it does more damage per shot than a heavy linear with firing line. And the gun and sound design are just so unique. The thing *feels* exotic(If I were able to change this weapon, I'd have it kill marked targets to charge the perk, then hold reload to activate the buff.)
Necro needs to just explode, reload, and activate desperation on any kill, honestly.
That's fine, and QSS is good there, just not universally applicable like the higher tier weapons are
I used eyes of tomorrow in this week's gm and it's pretty good since there is a ton of ads. The only bad thing is close range encounters. But it's pretty fun.
I've killed myself with it in gms more times than I care to admit lol for anyone who's looking to try it, remember to tag targets and then shoot it at the sky because anything can cause one of the rocket to detonate in your face.
@@MoonDystopia yep shooting close to objects or inside a tunnel is pretty deadly😂
Only way I would put outbreak under C-tier is if you don't have the catalyst, only seasonal mods keep it from being my permanent everything but raid gun
necro has fine aoe too
Yeah Outbreak was I think the one misstep in this list, we'll be revising it next season! :)
Nooo my Final Warning 😭 thank you for making these lists. I appreciate you taking the time to do this
I would like to see a legendary version of this tier list broken down by ammo type but just sort all the weapons that belong in D tier out and only address relevent options.
Not a bad idea to have a general guide
I think I agree with pretty much the entire tier list lol, it matches my experience in endgame pve pretty accurately
Glad to hear it!
I love Deathbringer, one of my absolute favorite exotics , and it hurts my heart as to how accurate the rating and analysis was. Also, my Gyrfalcon’s Hunter loves Collective Obligation and so do I!
Thunderlord S+++ because Llama said so
REAL.
to be fair for the graviton lance, it shoots out 2 homing projectiles that will explode on contact which can chain its effect very well, and its catalyst gives overshield on enemy shield breaks, and the damage from it is increased by 20% against bosses, great for just clearing large rooms of enemies with the chaining
Yeah, will reevaluate its position this season
I don't think I need to repeat the things I've been saying, all I'll say is thank you for the amazing content, and keep up the good work!
I can attest to this haha. Happened to me in Ir Yut and I ended up being highest DPS. I love that bow.
i would argue that mothkeeper ex diris is definitely underrated. used it to clear my first solo today and it put in work

That's pretty cool haha
huh that's a cool interaction.
Yeah suppress sources are pretty uncommon
The worst thing about edge of intent is you can’t do the exotic reload for the healing turret with zero in the mag, so if you hit all 4 of the shots, which it only has 4 in the mag, you have to reload first then you can do the special reload
That does suck
Watch tessellation catalyst give it increased charge and speeds up the Grenade animation

Idk just weird how inconsistent some of this listing can be.
who uses traces for damage? you gotta be trolling
@artur3306 you clearly never ran gm with cold heart. It has high ammo count and deals more damage than a regular trace making it viable against majors and champs not just redbars. Learn to master builds instead of chugging down dick
Yeah this list is in fact for optimal endgame PvE
You could make an argument that some exotics should be moved up in less optimal scenarios but I wouldn't use Coldheart as a counterargument of all things
It does excel on Stormcaller but that is one subclass and keep in mind what its company is in B tier: weapons like Arbalest, Witherhoard, and and Divinity are unquestionably better overall
I honestly cannot believe you rated the outbreak perfected in the D tier. The gun is so good for literally everything. Boss damage, ad clear, damage while youre out of ammo on other things, making orbs of power, it deserves so much better than D tier.
This list has been updated a few times since this video, check the spreadsheet :)
Verglah Curve aka Trinity Cool aka Ticuu's Refrigeration
Fantastic names
@@TheAegisRelic the clan had a monarque one too I think but I've forgotten it sadge
So it has double champion stun utility, and incinerates ads while leaving blind staggering jolted majors stumbling around to feast on On top of all that it's a rapid fire frame and buffs your movement speed noticeably, which plays really well into arc alongside the handling, movement and reload buffs amplified gives you.
its honestly kinda sad how many exotics are nearly useles in end game content
On Bad Juju, it traditionally hasn't really been relevant even when players are trying to force super generation. It's been featured a lot in builds on days 1 and 2 after the last few big sandbox updates but then better ways to generate super are found and it goes back in the vault.
Facts
"This gun is really good, I really like its handling and it deals with Champions. I'm going to put it in C tier."
C doesn't mean bad
C is a good thing in the context of this list haha
:sob:
Half the people commenting rn about how I didn't talk about Coldheart/QSS/etc. in GMs legit didn't watch the timestamps for those weapons I stg
I've been listening to this in the car so I haven't gotten to the end yet, also by no means am I trying to shit talk you or anything negative! Just the general vibe I got coming from a solo player who does solo dungeons and GMs
No problem, just a lot of people are making comments about the exact same exotics and saying things that I explicitly already address in the video :P
I absolutely love the brutality of his ranking. No feeling spared. The weapons you love are trash and you need to hear it. I needed to hear it. Be like that sometimes
That's my specialty :D
bro really hit record and talked into the mic for two hours straight.
good content as always my guy
Sunshot being A doesn’t make any sense.
Why's that? It's probably the best overall add clear exotic primary atm
@@TheAegisRelictrinity and osteo are better
Also how is huckleberry better than nechrochasm?
Also tarrabah is easily better than huckleberry.
Last thing is I think you should add E tier and F tier because the D tier is kinda not fair for some weapons (for example jade rabbit is an F I don’t think it should be in the same tier as verglas curve and whisper etc)
Good video overall 👍
I would love to see a compiled list of weapons you think we should all try to grab both exotic and legendaries for all endgame content.
Working on something like that :)
Interesting to see weapons with one or two niche uses in D tier.
Ease of use is a factor but only in some scenarios, this list is mostly designed for optimal gameplay
BABE WAKE UP! NEW AEGIS VIDEO DROPPED AND ITS 2 HOURS!!!!
Outbreak being under stuff like Hawkmoon, Crimson, Prospector, Ruinous Effigy and Crimson is absolutely crazy to me.
It was definitely underrated, will readjust next season
The best thing I like about QSS isn't just the GL feature, but the nano tracer rockets. I know that's basically just an origin trait, but it really helps when you're "just using an auto rifle"
Yeah the Tracers are a nice added touch
damn you did cryosthesia dirty. it freezes a large area, it's awesome in gms and stuff, amazing crowd control and ad clear
A "large area" is definitely an overstatement and I wouldn't call it "amazing" add clear either
Really great content. Polaris for me was the big surprise. It's niche, you really need to build into detonations, but it's been in a godsend in this week's GM for clearing rooms and built in unstop. I like it much better than ticcu's.
Oh, you just wait until Parasite gets its Envious Assassin catalyst and you got 3 worms flying
LMAO
To note, Revision Zero's pulse shots are also anti-barrier.....unless that's been changed (mine's been collecting dust in my vault for a couple seasons now).
Yeah they are
been waiting for this tierlist, really excited to watch it!
love the entire rant of why witherhoard is so much worse than it used to be but its still good enough for b tier
Ace of spades is still goated for me in pve… there’s enough legendaries for special and heavy where I don’t need an exotic in those slots
May not be optimal but it’s meaningful, and I even have a tattoo of it on my thigh lol
i hate it when i get my throat rubbed raw so annoying. great vid very educational thanks keep it up aegis!
Oh Bad Juju how you’ve fallen, that was one of my favorite exotics back in D1
>"No fireteams are using Divinity in endgame content"
My fireteam, using a Divinity and 5 Thunderlords on Nezarec:
Sorry I should say optimal fireteams
@@TheAegisRelic I mean... say what you will, but I'll take a safe, comfortable 2 phase any day of the week, twice on Sunday
Practically anything can safe 2 phase :)
@@TheAegisRelic not everyone's a fucking youtuber, guy.
In mid content cryostegia is actually a great add clear and great for dimond lances
The niche it fills is "I want massive redbar clear a la Trinity Ghoul, but I want to trade infinite ammo and range for being more useful on majors, and also jolt synergy and ionic traces."
Thing is, you can run Riptide or a GL and get many of the same benefits on bigger targets and then still have Trinity Ghoul; there isn't really a legendary primary that makes sense to run with Delicate Tomb.
Yeah exotic specials got destroyed man
@@TheAegisRelic man, if I could run delicate tomb and, like, forerunner? that'd be sick. alas.
