    Hey guys thought I’d share my info as I felt it was hard to get the right info for myself I hope it helps.
    I got the 720 battery and I used it with my res med air mini for 5 nights camping and it still wasn’t flat.
    My pressure is 9.6 and average sleep was 7/8 hours per night.
    I got home before it went flat thanks guys it’s a great product and shipped up to me quick in northern nsw

    Hi Nick - I have a MEDISTROM Pilot 24 Light battery and use it with my Airsense 10 Elite. Have only used it a few times during blackouts.
    In Feb 22 Planning to go off grid camping (no 240v power available). I have a small generator but was wondering if you can recommend a compatible solar power charger that works with the cords etc.?
    Love your work mate.

    Thanks for this video. One thing to look into: I used a standard lithium, 12 volt battery pack, but because of the chemistry of the cells used, these battery packs deliver between 9 and 12.6 volts. The Z2 portable cpap automatically shuts down if it drops even a small about below 12 volts after about a minute (it seems like this is programmed into the firmware rather than an electrical limitation), so it means it uses only a small fraction of the useful power of such packs. I solved this by adding a 9-14 volt to constant 15 volt step up booster (about $15 dollars). Note that the power adapter for the Z2 is actually 15 volts, not 12.
    So my suggestion is that one measures the actual output voltage on each of these when it is almost fully discharged and make sure it is actually above 12 volts, otherwise they won't give all of their potential battery duration (or add a booster as I did) especially if it is used on a Z2 or similar device.

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  2 роки тому

      Hi Gary, we have a similar cable that we sometimes provide with the Z2 :-). It's actually designed to run off 14v from memory but most fine that 12 works just fine. Cheers brother. Nicko

    • @lesliefranklin1870
      @lesliefranklin1870 2 роки тому

      Gary, these battery packs use LiFePO4 batteries. Their discharge voltage curve is different than standard lithium batteries. LiFePO4 batteries tend to keep their voltage high until they almost run out of charge. Note that for lithium based batteries, LiFePO4 are much less likely to have a thermal runaway. Their only drawback is they hold a little less charge per kilogram.

    I have a renogy 72000 mAh battery like yours and it worked great for awhile....Dc outlet stopped working and the DC input/output only worked 20 min at 24v and the USB-C only worked for 10min before dropping power to my air mini. Think something is bad inside as the cables are Resmed for the mini. Put order in for an Exp Pro 48Pro battery on amazon and it shows it works with many cpaps including the mjni.

    From what I understand, the bigger two 720 and 360 are not Li-ion (Lithium ion).
    They are LiFePO (Lithium Iron Phosphate).
    You seem to call them both. They are one or the other and can't be both unless my lurnin' mislead me.
    LiFePO are great batteries with their extended life of thousands of drain/recharge. They last many nights of use as well. They are the best type of lithium to have for a camping or blackout battery.

    Hi Nicko I'm so glad you have a product I have been looking for. My last Remed powerpack doesn't work with Airsense 10. In any case wanted to PLEASE ask you if you could (and have a bit of time), let me know why has it happened to me a few times now that all of a sudden my machine stops. I don't have leaks nor is there a power failure so I'm at a loss to understand. I have taken the machine to where I bought it but they can't elucidate either. I would appreciate your input, thank you.

      Hi Syliva, intermittent cpap faults are sometimes hard to diagnose but i would certainly try switching off the 'auto off' function on the AS10 as these auto ON/OFF features can sometimes be the cause of such issues. Best wishes my friend. Nicko

    Worth mentioning is that you can't take any of these on a plane without having to get a dangerous goods operator approval from the airline. Anything under 100Wh doesn't require approval.

      Does that mean I can take on board plane with approval? I like the look of the 360 (although hiking with extra 3 kilos…..) but if I can’t travel with it then no good. Have looked on airline website, not that informative and they seem like they haven’t updated in last couple of years (one mentions latest resumed as S8)

    • @QuintonDolan
      @QuintonDolan 2 роки тому

      @@gibo1971 You really need to check the specific airline's rules on batteries and if the destination has any extra rules. For Qantas if it's 100Wh - 160Wh then it should get approval but must be carry on. Over 160Wh is a hard no.

      @@lathamciallella1288 Latham - No to Resmed they didn’t have a clue but yes to Remsleep (the battery supplier). The issue is with the battery, it hiccups (best way I can describe it) on the 24 volt and send the incorrect sine wave or similar. The airpro does not like it and shuts off. Resmed swapped the battery for the Medistrom Pilot - 24 Lite. It is smaller but puts out a constant 24 volts and works perfectly with the AirPro 720. I get 2 full nights on one charge of the battery. The down side is you can only charge it with 240 volts using the power cord for the Resmed Airsense 10. Hope that helps.

    Nicko, Looking at the AirPro 720. Can it be used in a back up mode where it is being charged by 240V and powering the CPAP at the same time so it automatically continues to power the CPAP if the power fails? This would make an ideal automatic power backup system in the event of a power outage even at home.

    Help! I was diagnosed with very severe sleep apnea (up to 94 episodes an hour). I was given an Airsense 11 by my medical group several months ago. Whenever it is windy or rainy in Los Angeles, the power goes out. This CPAP does not use any of the standard attachments that allow a 24 volt input so I need a 110 volt pure sine wave lithium battery. From my research, I need about a 1000 watt unit to get up to 8 hours of continue use without humidifier. (a decent one runs from one to two thousand dollars). Is that what you are finding? Has anyone found a cheaper alternative for the Airsense 11?

    • @garygullikson6349
      @garygullikson6349 11 місяців тому +1

      Doesn't ResMed make a 12 volt DC to 24 volt DC converter for the Airsense 11? If so, you can connect your converter to a 12volt battery to power your CPAP. Capacity of battery determines how many nights CPAP can run before battery needs charging. I'm getting 3 nights CPAP with two 12 volt 18 amp hour SLA batteries, connected in parallel, for 36 amp hours. That is with humidifier and heated hose features shut off. I use a 12 volt Battery Minder smart trickle charger to charge and maintain batteries. Do your homework before choosing a battery backup setup.
