The thing with Anders is that he’s just a metal singer, and a heavy metal singer at that, Corey on the other hand is just a music singer. He can scream, he can rap, he can even sing them sad old blues and do a damn good job.
The reason I like Slipknot is because of how unique they are, and Corey i the main reason they are unique. Nobody else sounds like him, but Anders is just another death death metal vocalist.
they’re a reason why they’re so unique. if you change any aspect though they begin to move a lot closer to generic. if you were to try to replace each member individually, one at a time, with more common styles, you’d see one by one how important each one is.

Blake the reason that Corey’s voice changed after Iowa and hasn’t been the same since was because he wore out his voice completely after the Iowa tour cycle. Corey said that doctors told him if he continued to scream as he did before, he would never sing again, so he needed to change it up.
Corey all the way, its just the way he can convey emotion and really just let a gutteral scream go. Anders version is still badass but its not slipknot, its meld.
Both are sic and I think the disrespectful comments about Anders is unnecessary. Yeah I prefer what Slipknot became too but respect the roots! And yeah, would have been sic if Anders stayed and Slipknot had two vokillists! Also, I love the CHUNKINESS of their original guitar tone! Crushing!
Anders has much more of a "fake" controlled heavy voice, it brings down the intensity of the song. Corey is just fucking self destructing in his screams and operhearted in his singing. hands down corey is better.
For me it's Corey hands down. I'll admit I am bias though. He's my favourite singer of all time. From metal to melodies I just love his voice and he has the range to do it all.
I'm much happier Slipknot went with Corey. Anders would've been great for backing vocals for screams, growls, and just heavier vocals, but he left. :/ Anders was just complete garbage at melodic vocals, and to me, he sounded way too much like any other heavy metal singer.
