just counted it out watching this. I saw them 9 times from 99-2001. this show was my 3rd time. Knotfest 2012 was my 10th time since I lost a lot of interest after the Iowa shows. that energy from 1999 through 2000 was unmatched though.

A little over a month before this show, I saw them for the first time at Ozzfest 99 (and met Clown, James, Chris, Paul and Joey. Still have their autographs). Then 3 months later, I'd see them again in December that same year (with Mudvayne opening) and meet Joey again and talk with him for at least 20 minutes. Best times.😁
I remember hot topic were passing out those spit it out/surfacing sampler cassettes back when i was in high school. That was my introduction to slipknot. I miss those days and thank you for this upload. Great sound and great video. 🤘🤘
The sound, the energy, and the pure passion every show is pure bliss. I dont think any other band has sound even similar to s/t and iowa. It’s just unique af Every “leaked” show ive seen of them has this energy or even more every time. It’s insane passion for this whole thing.
Man I remember in 1999 being in 6th grade, spiking my hair up with gel, wearing super baggy Lee Pipez, SOAP shoes, and a chain wallet.. we bought this S/T album and were moshing on my friend Adam’s roof … the energy on the album alone was crazy .. the drop D riffs, the DrumNbass loops, the eerie children of the corn type screeching sounds.. man what a time to be a teenager
@@patrickhaley1312 I think it's difficult to keep that intensity when they're all in their late 40's and early 50's. This, was peak Slipknot. OG lineup before all the other crap. For me, they had two amazing albums, and then became a what was. I am seeing them this Saturday, and partly because they're only playing the first album.
Absolutely INCREDIBLE upscaled video quality and audio this is unreal what energy!!! This is clearly off the board audio... who taped this and synced up the audio after all these years?? 1 month after i saw them at ozzfest Vancouver 1999 July 15th and 2 months before I saw them Nov 5th 1999 Calgary Alberta Canada :)
Something like this will never be again. So much to prove hate anger and just straight up 9 fucked up individuals giving it all. This band gave me a leg to stand on. I'll never forget that.

I was just noticing how hard Joey plays the drums. Eloy plays almost exactly like him, save for the hair windmills. But they both beat the absolutely shit outta their drums. Just saying, Joey would be proud that Eloy is filling his shoes, They play A LOT a like
It's like two different bands. The old Slipknot had this crazy energy and fury that came through in the riffs and drums. But when you're 50, you can't be that aggressive and punchy. And I like their current transformation into a more musical band with much better vocals that hasn't softened with age and has retained some of that old energy.
You cant expect them to be this energetic forever tbf, they're still awesome considering how old they are and this latest tour with the old masks has been awesome to see
It really isn't dude you can't shame a group of 9 people for screwing up their bodies for 30 years and having less energy than they did before. It's a miracle their still doing this at all@@ДмитрийСтырёв
besides all the other amazing stuff, the lighting checks out out so much more brutal than the recent shows. tbh this current LED setting looks more like my fridge

Corey’s vocal skills weren’t necessarily bad at this time but he really stepped his game up after Iowa was released. But that time I moved on from Korn and Slipknot and got into Pantera and Slayer.. Slipknot does kill though..
I remember getting fucking scared and so excited whenever wait and bleed played on “the box” I would be so in awe of how raw and crazy these motherfuckers looked back then lol
the energy from the 90's and early 2000's was definitely crazier than now.

And the grass was greener earlier
they were young, up and coming, beginning to live their dream, had much to prove etc..naturally, the energy will be different.
They were 20-almost 30 years younger. 😂I swear when these guys will be in their 70s there will be people saying they used to be more energetic.
No phones thats why
I don't understand how come these concerts that are 20 plus year old sound better than anything nowadays
Could be a mix table recording mixed with video. Or that video cameras just had much better mics than smartphones these days.

How sweet it is not to see the glow of a cellphone screen and ACTUALLY enjoying the performance without the distraction.
Very true
13 years old it was tough to find decent live performances of these guys with good sound..so this is everything...big thanks
А где именно сложно было найти в Эфиопии что ли?

I was born a month prior to this show
25:05 sid actually spitting it out is gnarly
the energy here is insane 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I watched them 25 years later last week in Manchester UK and they still hit hard and sing and perform as good as they do in this video
Arguably Cory is significantly better by today's standards

Thankyou for all of this rare footage
Seeing these guys in 2001 when they were HUNGRY was an experience
feel like nobody ever talks about chris enough, that’s why he was always my favorite. his energy was different
What an absolutely crazy and unique band, man. The older I get the more I realize these guys were just in their own little category of the metal world

I played in a band for years and we had this passion. I love seeing a band that is 30 years in with such passion.😊. Awesome
I saw them a little under a decade ago and trust me the passion is gone.

Clambake. This show started everything that is metal for me! What a lineup!
Best part about this footage. Not a single cell phone being held up in the crowd. Miss those days at shows
The energy they transmit in the minute 21:50 Without a doubt, it is the best time of slipknot

Saw them in Jan 1999 in Ybor City, they f***ing destroyed the crowd. They were sloppy as hell but in a way it was perfect. They wore us out. Awesome!
