God damn I miss Starkiller. I love Cal, but it's so limiting being on the light side. Starkiller's force abilities were WAYYYY more fun to use. Not just the lightning and force choke. Starkiller could throw a tie-fighter and pull down a star destroyer. Cal can barely lift regular combatants.
Idk man, Cal has lifted groups of enemies in Jedi Survivor. Also crushes droids when he pulls them with the Force. So while not *super* powerful per se, I'd say he's around the level of Anakin during Attack of the Clones right now. With obviously a lot more fight IQ 0.O
Exactly no one is topping that anytime soon. He actually defeated Darth Vader twice in his games. He only defeated the emperor because the emperor lost his lightsaber. If he kept it would of been different

Even with removing Starkiller's overpowered force abilities (lets just go with nerfing them to more standard power levels), he'd still have a high advantage against Cal due to their respective training. Cal never got to complete his Padawan training because of Order 66 and the death of his Jedi Master, whereas Galen was trained for most of his life by Vader under some very harsh Sith training methods (even having PROXY frequently attack him with the combat profiles of several Jedi Masters). While Cal did manage to adapt to the times and grew to become a seasoned survivor, Starkiller was forged into a lethal weapon from day 1 and not even turning towards the Light Side kept Galen from his destructive potential.
I'm going to bring this up whenever I can just because it's really cool. Starkiller's force repulse disintegrating people in-game is actually the censored version. In the audio novel of the force unleashed 2, when Starkiller is fighting the clones on Kamino (during the Darth Vader fight), he uses force repulse and it describes the aftermath of the air being a blood red mist and smelling like corpses.
@@ThatJaMzGuy Force users train to have a barrier around them to resist Force powers during encounters. That is why you don't see many Force using during duels.
The gameplay mechanics speaks for itself, as StarKiller is mostly used to take out entire ARMIES by himself with ease, along with the strongest of individual force users. While Cal is used to take out small groups or to only get by strong force users until he becomes just strong enough to rival them. But even with Cal’s versatility, his feats don’t even come close to StarKillers, on and off screen.
Even if the difference in power scaling wasn't so drastic, there's also still the fact that basically all of Starkillers training boils down to letting him fight other force users. Additionally, he basically spent his entire life either training or using what he learned in combat. Cal on the other hand had his training cut short by Order 66 and he then went into hiding for several years, lacking a teacher until he met Cere. Whilst Cal was keeping a low profile, Starkiller was cheerfully climbing over mountains of corpses left by the imperial armies elite.

In Legends, Force Users were capable of great feats (Starkiller pulls a Star Destroyer down out of the sky, Mace Windu wipes out a Super Battle Droid army with his fists, Yoda defends Ilum from an army of droids and defends one of the front lines on the battle of Coruscant almost by himself) In Disney canon, they just seem so weak. They barely use the Force, and when they do, the best they can manage is Force pushing someone a few feet away.
Palpatine's Clone in the Dark Empire basically doesn't need a Death Star anymore and can destroy planets with a Force Storm. The EU really went hard on nothing being a match to the force.
As soon as you referred to Starkiller as the Broly of the Star Wars universe, you immediately got a like from me. Literally both of my favorite characters from each series
Honestly? I think the biggest mark in Galen's favor isn't all of his skills, it's that Cal NEVER displays an aptitude for Tutemenis or being able to withstand large voltages, and Galen's go-to maneuver is Force Lightning. He'll use that first, most often, and he is EXCEPTIONALLY skilled with it. Lacking an answer to that, Cal would get wounded or at the very least winded quickly, giving Galen more than enough openings to take advantage with his exceptional speed, force powers or melee repertoire.

What I like about Cal is that he's the underdog, similar to characters from other franchises like Star-Lord or Hawkeye. He isn't the toughest or the fastest, but always manages to pull through, and makes it look as badass as possible. He's the definition of slow and steady wins the race. And you could argue that he has far more willpower than most very powerful Jedi. Hell his entire rogues gallery is a testiment to that fact. The starkiller in force unleashed 2 was heavily implied to be the actual starkiller. The novels practically even say he's not a clone. The darkside ending wasn't canon as they planned a 3rd game about the lighside ending where they would comfirm he wasn't a clone. Also it's also implied Vader was trying to convince him he was a clone to better control him and break his will. There's a lot of stuff that basically implies he's not a clone. Other than that great video!
This is the first time someone said in the force unleashed 2 starkiller wasn't a clone. Because, everyone really think he was a clone but not me. My theory was when he died in the force unleashed 1, he was just unconscious or maybe vader somehow revived him and when he woke up vader told him he was a clone. This is my theory man, I am glad someone else believes starkiller was not a clone in the force unleashed 2.
Galen is my second favorite Jedi in any canon or legends continuity, man. I grew up abused (not that bad and not with magical powers, granted,) and the fact that he flipped the "Jedi falls to selfishness" into "Sith ascends to Hero" is a feat not often replicated, but highly worth respecting.

This it the way I view this: Galen / Starkiller is obviously way more powerful in terms of raw power and combat ability. It's not even close. He's therefore very enjoyable to playa as a combat-orientated character. What makes Cal awesome is that he is *not* the strongest in terms of anything that he does, but he strives and fights anyway. I have Star Killer at Large Star Level via upscaling from sith of old. Also basically every legends character annihilates there canon counter part. Legends output of raw energy is insane. This was a great vid, pls do more Star Wars content.
I think when it comes to Starkiller, his first incarnation is what we can expect to compare Cal against. Strong in the Force, master of the saber, but nevertheless, he was but a man. He mastered many abilities, and had a deep intuitive understanding of the Force, allowing him to accomplish feats like moving the Star Destroyer. I believe that the Star Destroyer feat is a direct reference to what Yoda says to Luke in Empire Strikes Back: it doesn't matter for the Force whether you're lifting a pebble or a starship. The only limitation is within your mind. So I believe that measuring kilotons of power required to accomplish it is entirely irrelevant. Also, speaking of speed, neither forceuser can move at the speed of light, that's ridiculous. Even IF blaster bolts are lasers and not the magnetically accelerated Tibanna gas plasma bolts they've always been in the Star Wars lore, deflecting them does not mean moving faster than the speed of light. It means having precognition abilities to know where the bolt is going to be aimed. Anyway, regarding Starkiller from TFU 2, he's an entirely different beast. After going through several clone bodies and undergoing Vader's gruelling training regiments, as well as after the direct confrontation with Palpatine (which, BTW, I don't believe was in any way him holding back - the Emperor was well past his prime there), Starkiller has forged such a strong bond with the Force, he had become almost a destructive incarnate of the Force itself. His human side drove him to Juno and allowed him to stay somewhat sane, while his Force side was disintegrating hordes of enemies and tearing Star Destroyers in half.
@mattmetawolf8634 Still doesn't negate the rule of two, which Vader still upheld. Like Maul, he was a weapon for the Sith. If their masters(Sidious & Vader) succeed, then yeah, but they didn't. Which rendered their apprentices to be nothing more than a weapon. Even if Galen became a dark lord, Vader would've killed him to replace him with Luke (like he tried in the movie).
@mattmetawolf8634 Meaning Galen was not a Sith but still had to be taken down. During Legends continuity, the closest thing he could've been was a Shadow Guard. Also, Sidious was paranoid and figured Galen was kept secret for a reason, so he had to go.
@mattmetawolf8634 Never compared him to them, I said he'd fit those roles (had Sidious knew of him prior). Still couldn't dispute my claim of Vader upholding the rule of two. He had a vision for Galen, but once it was discovered, he had to change things around. Then lied to Galen and betrayed him a second time. Galen was destined for greatness but would never live to see it. Regardless, we'll agree to disagree.

The only way I can see this become reality 100% for sure is composite Star Wars (everything canon and maybe some event re adapted) and I think if they have to meet they would fight at first(obviously Galen doesn’t go all out from the get go,like gauging cal power for how much he needs to output to put him to sleep) when they realize that they can be ally’s and maybe they can help each other with stuff that they don’t have like:Galen can help cal to have a better grasp and control over his dark side and help him refine his combat a bit, while cal can teach Galen some counters for those lightsaber styles that he uses, some force tricks and giving him some Jedi history lessons
Imagine Starkiller teaching Cal some of his shit. now we get to pull down two SDs

they wouldnt though, because cal would never get away, starkiller is the strongest character in the star wars universe and has never once let someone escape a live, I mean he even killed himself lol
“Master Marek there’s too many of them what do we do?”
Cal's only 100% fullproof way to survive against Starkiller is to slow him and just run.
Poor, poor Cal. Dudes gonna get a Star Destroyer dunked on him.

Sith Stalker, he was never a Sith. Just trained in the dark side, similar to the Inquisitors.
@mattmetawolf8634 Even if they prevailed, he still would've been killed in favor of Luke, most likely.
