Very Easy Crochet Hat for Beginners - All Sizes

- In this video I will show you how to crochet a super easy ribbed hat, perfect for beginners! It’s literally the easiest hat I have ever made and my favorite part about it is that it fits perfectly! We will be crocheting this hat using our own head measurements, ensuring a comfortable fit for all sizes 💕
All you need is some yarn and a hook that matches. Also a measuring tape, scissor, and a tapestry needle. We used 2 skeins of Amigo Chunky for this hat.
Your foundation chain will be the length of your hat, so make sure it matches your measurements. The hat has a 2 row repeat using mainly sc and hdc worked in the back loop only. Here's the first 4 rows:
Foundation chain: Chain sts until you reach your desired length.
R1: Put 1 hdc into each st until you have 1 st left, 1 sc into the last st, ch 1 and turn.
R2: Put 1 scblo into the first st, 1 hdcblo into each st to the end of the row, ch 2 and turn.
R3: Put 1 hdcblo into each st until you have 1 st left, 1 scblo into the last st, ch 1 and turn.
Repeat R2-3 until your hat fits around your head.

My son liked the idea of trying to make a hat. Your tutorial on hats really helped! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this fantastic video! I followed someone else's video for the ribbed hat. I've made 4 and I've not been 100% happy with them.
Watching your video I now see why. You have given a more clear and easy to understand explanation with a perfect follow along demonstration.
You explained the stitches as they were used.
As far as anyone complaining about not knowing the next step, you were very clear when you said to finish continuing exactly the same as the rows we just did. All anyone has to do is rewind the video if they aren't sure or start over and fast forward. We can't expect you to do everything for us. 😁
Thank you again and keep up the great work! This was the first video I watched of yours but I've subscribed to all now because you really are good!
Happy 2023!
Finaly, somebody with a simple pattern...thank you so much.!!! Love it
You are so amazing with your details. I’m in my 5th row, I still need to get to the end of the instructions but so far, I’m working real well. Thank you so much for making it so easy. 😊
Loved your explanation. I’m making a red, white and blue beanie for two grandsons. Very easy to understand.
Thanks! Your instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I´m sure I can reduce my yarn stash by making several of these for friends, family and for charity. New sub! ❤
Brilliant. Many thanks. I spent about 5 days working on it as the sides didn't come out straight, so I redid it about 10 times. Many thanks
I made this hat! Came out great. It took me maybe ~8 hours (several evenings of working on it). I used worsted Malabrigo 100% wool yarn with 5mm hook.
Thank you for a lovely tutorial, it looks easy enough, going to try it.
I would love to see an easy tutorial for crochet sweater.Thank you for your work
I needed a quick last minute Christmas gift and this was perfect. One hat in about an hour.

I'm addicted to u....ur too good...
Thank u my dealing you're a good teacher ,I just made one for son
So, I'm a beginner when it comes to crocheting and it took me quite some time but I finished my hat in one day.
I used 1 1/2 balls of chunky wool (by Amigo) and a crochet needle in size 7,00. The rest of the wool I used for a fluffy pompom, so cute:) I'll definitely make one again.
The tutorial was easy to follow and I really enjoyed the simplicity of the instructions and the hat itself. Great job:)
Hi Linda 🥰 Thank you for your feedback and for letting me know how it turned out. I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed it 🥰 Have a wonderful day 🤗 - Line from Hobbii

I got so excited and bought yarn and a crochet hook to make this. I definitely need more practice and to learn how to fix my mistakes. Any suggestions on videos to help? I have to keep starting over or ending up with weird loops or holes

Louise from Hobbii
I can't stop thanking u!!u r great....its look like more easier.. 😍❤️
hi .tnx for this model..🥰😍i have a guestion
we have to add a chain in the end of row?
I love working in the back loop only to create a ribbed effect! (I've made fingerless mitts using the same technique, and they looked so cushy and warm when they were done!) I also often work into the back loops only on the foundation row, as Line was doing, since the chain stitches of the foundation chain are often tighter than one would think, and therefore it's very difficult to work the hook under both of the top loops of the foundation chain stitches (leaving just the "back bumps" unworked). Closing up the top of this hat looks like the same way one would close up a hat made on a circular knitting loom. Looks like a very easy hat, and a little bit fancier than the plain beanies I typically crochet!
Thank you so much for sharing this easy to follow tutorial! 🐰🐰
Thank you for watching BunnyCrochet 🥰 Warm wishes, Line from Hobbii
Julia Chaparro Sanabria gracias por asectarme me gusta mucho tejer está ré atenta
Hello, how are you doing my friend?
This is amaizing woooow verry nice it
Are u suppossed to do that one crochet at the end of the third row? Or only when u are at the tail?
Love ur video. But could you tell me I have a person who wants me to make a hat for a child one is two years old and one is four years old and they live in another state, so how how would I know how many rows to go around you said measure from the top of the head to where you want the hat, but I don’t know where to stop when you go around for the circumference of the hat could you give me some idea one question second question is would I use heavy weight yarn on a child or something much lighter like a four?
I’ve been making hats like these recently with slightly thinner yarn and it’s still really warm. I’ll have to try it with thicker yarn!
Hi Rori 😊 that sounds great! what kind of yarn did you use? I'm actually dreaming of making this hat in a really fluffy yarn 😍 Warm wishes, Line from Hobbii
@@Hobbiicom a fluffy beanie would be amazing! I’ve been using a lot of Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn. There are tons of colors and it’s not too thin or thick😄
A finer gauge yarn would produce a denser fabric such would be warmer. That's what I've always been taught. Bulky is nice for the speed but it's not very warm.
Nice tutorial...love the design..simple and easy to make...How many centimeters for the 5yr old child?
great video i just wish i could get the pattren ... i just cant figer out for other size
Thanks for teaching

Nice hat thank you for sharing I can make my own.God bless 👼👼
thank you! looks great
What do you do at the end of the row (Row 3) that doesn’t have the tail?
Can you please explain how to continue with row 3 and 4
This is probably waaaay to late of a reply but I was sitting with the exact same problem until I realized she explains how to do it in the description box!
I hope that can help anyone in the future 😅
@@otakugamer6657 how many rows do you crochet for a 14 year old? I measured her head and did the chain & stitches, but I’m not clear how many rows to crochet.
@@debbiekoenig1572 Hi Debbie, so from what I understand you first make your foundation chain the length from measuring the top of your head and as far down to your ears if you want it (remember to make it longer if you’d like a little folded ribbed edge like Line has in the video).
Then you just crochet as many rows as it takes to be able to reach all the way around your head. My tip would be to measure the circumference of your head and then crochet as many rows as you need to reach that measurement.
I hope this helps 😊
So looks easy gonna try it for sure🥰🥰🥰
Hello, can you tell me first chain stich ..will be my head circumference or from top of head to below ear length? I am very confused..
Thank you very much tutorial for sharing this i will like to try it, it's beatiful.

Very good directions thank you.
I love your crocheting skills. And I hope to see more of your crocheting videos. Thank you for this video, but I have a question, how many half double croche should I do for an adults head?
Just keep crocheting until you reach ~1-2" less than your intended head circumference.
Wow 🥰 I love it 🥰
Thank you very much for teaching.🙏🙏🙏🌺🌺🌺🌺
Thanks for pattern I did chain of 30cm also just wondering about how many cm did you crochet to go around your head?
Amazing tutorial 😊😊
