I loved this video tutorial!❤ i disregarded the last comment and watched the whole video to see if I could follow the instructions. Since I've been a knitter for 53 years, I totally understood the jump from 1st row instructions to the addition of fringe. Thank you for sharing the finished product on your little guy! So cute!
This is a great video. It is not for beginners. And for some of the earlier comments. Always watch the entire video first before you start a project. This was a great video. Thank you
Thank you very much!!!! I have a new nephew and had been looking for something to make for him, and this is perfect. So again thanks all the way from Mexico.
Very nice, making right now for my two nieces. I had to print the pattern out to follow, and I don't read patterns well. Im learning. But I got it . They turned out beautiful. Thk you
This is a really fun alternative to pompoms. I crochet for charity and have made beanies with fur poms and tassel poms (and of course no poms), this will brighten someone's day for sure. I think tweens/teens would really like this. 😍 Spring/Summer is the crochet/knit time to make the charity items for Fall...will be crocheting a bunch of these. 🤗Thanks for the share.
how awesome! I saw someone wearing this hat, or very similar, just yesterday and thought I need to make one of those and voila, there's your tutorial ha ha. def going to be making this one :)
I'm in the process of making this for my grandchild. It's such a fun hat! Thanks for the video. I did find that using a stitch marker for the squiggles helped me out, especially in the early stage. I think I may have to make a grown-up version!
Thank you for yet another wonderful tutorial! I love the option of crocheting hdc or sc or even slip stitch. This beanie came out so cute I can’t wait to include it with the baby blanket I made.
Just made this hat and it's so stinking cute, the little curls on top are perfect (I did single crochets for the top and they turned into little ringlets) ❤❤❤
After reading the comments I wasn't sure I'd be able to do this but I've been crocheting for a long time so I decided to watch the video. It is skipping some stuff but I think I can figure out what to do so I'm going to try it. I will say, if you're new to crochet this may be too much for you. If you aren't go ahead and watch the whole video and see if it makes sense. The hat is really cute.
I believe the fringe row starts on row three, the second time you make the three sl st at the top. She skipped ahead in the tutorial, the fringe will continue every fourth row at the top until desired size is achieved.
Baby James is the perfect model for this cute little beanie with the built-in pom! Thank you for the video. I will definitely make this beanie *AND subscribe to the channel.* 😊
Hi, at the beginning of the video, the yarn tail is at the top of the hat. At the end of video, where you start to join, the yarn tail is at the bottom. Could you clarify, please? I love these hats. They are so fun to make and are just adorable!
I’m very pleased with how the hat turned out. One question though……. Can I make the hat without fringe, then add a different color of fringe before sewing it together?
After doing fringe work all the way back when you do the next row going toward fringe you will not fringe than work hdc all the way and work hdc back toward fringe an on that row you will fringe your skipping 2 rows 1st row is fringe next row skip fringe row next row don’t fringe. Hope it helps
Hi there, is there a part missing from the video? It doesn’t show at the beginning how you do the fringe! Yet near the end of the video it shows one fringe. Is the fringe done at end of every row if not how many rows between?
I love this beanie pattern and I would like to attempt making one for my granddaughter who is 2 years old. Now how many stitches should I cast. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Nice Hat❤ u r teaching style is so good, ur explanation is very well, every design is so pretty. Plz tell me, how many chains should I have to make for 1 to 2 years baby girl? Thank u very much for this tutorial❤😊
Gracias por tu vídeo, aprendí hacerlo para mi nieto y me quedó bellísimo , ahora yo estoy haciendo otro para mi otro nieto, mi próximo proyecto contigo es un sweater
I was wondering if you ever did a video on the little bunny peeling over baby blanket? I know it’s off topic but I ran across it on your website but can’t find a video. Love you designs for everything and you videos are very helpful!!!
You might look on line for a video about making the curls. I like the tighter curls and they aren’t as tight in this pattern. Then you can switch up her pattern and incorporate the technique to do the tighter curls!
The fringe might confuse sone as you don’t really add it until midway thru the video. Then suddenly your whole work has the fringe in it. Unless you watch the whole video first you might not understand that the fringe starts with row 1 right after your first set of slip stitches. Love this little hat!
I just made one of these for my son and I absolutely love it on him the fall season is coming and I Colorado it already feels like it’s here definitely making one for my husband as well for an adult size should I make the fringe longer or leave it the same?
I waited a long time before commenting. I was willing to overlook the half skipped video and the fact that we were not told WHICH row to start the fringe, BUT when we were not told until the end that the fringe was every other row-that did it. We don’t want to have to find the OTHER video you made OR go to the website for a pattern-that’s why we go to UA-cam videos-to be able to be walked through a WHOLE project-start to finish.
I didn’t see how to start the fringe so I won’t be doing this pattern it’s like it’s missing some instructions.edit.. I see the posts with the fringe instructions.. I do like the pattern and will try it.. I apologize for the earlier post because I didn’t see the fringe post..
Hi there! at about 6:24 I show how to make the fringe. Also we have the printable instructions on our website here: daisyfarmcrafts.com/crochet-ribbed-hdc-fun-fringe-hat/
Hello! Just love your videos. I have learned how to crochet a hat with your video so thank you so much. One Q for this particular Fringe hat. From the video at 5:55 then skipped to 6:13? I would like to learn how you ended at 5:55 then what to do next in detail till the fringe? Thank you so much..
I agree. I wish the directions for the fringe was as you made the first fringe. Lucky I watch the entire video before I start. But it was confusing at first. So I guess row 2 starts a fringe row?
Love the hat, but nowhere is this video is the little pigtails explained. I ended up having to make some pigtails and sew/tie the little tails onto the hat.
Scusatemi ma per un bimbo 6 anni quante catenelle devo mettere con un filato sottile lavorato con un uncinetto n.3? Ringrazio per la vostra gentilezza e in una risposta. Col cuoreeee ❤❤
I forgot she doesn’t start the instructions about the fringe until later in the video 😮💨 I was confused but she explains it very well , just the video edit is confusing.
It’s a follow on from the S.C. Fun Fringe Beanie. If you make that one first, you’ll know what to do when making the H.D.C. beanie. There’s only a couple of slight changes, different stitch and 3 chain instead of 5 at the fringe end.
Measure the head you are making it for & continue row's until desired size is achieved. The could include making it a few stitches taller for a larger head. Just add stitches until the desired measurement is achieved. Hope that helps. I made it in adult size with a chenille yarn. Basically the same framework from this pattern just a few inches taller and a few rows wider.
I loved this video tutorial!❤ i disregarded the last comment and watched the whole video to see if I could follow the instructions. I did not have any trouble with the video it's perfect great video thank you four such a good job
This is a great video. It is not for beginners. And for some of the earlier comments. Always watch the entire video first before you start a project. This was a great video. Thank you
Yes I agree but most of this is repeated action of just working in rows until the preferred measurement
Beautiful hat… can’t wait to give it a try. Thank you for your video:)
Thank you very much!!!! I have a new nephew and had been looking for something to make for him, and this is perfect. So again thanks all the way from Mexico.
Your video is amazing!I have just made one of these for my grandson!Love it!Thank you so much!
Needed a baby hat and saw your video. Love it and made it. Improvised a bit though. ❤
Your work is so neat. You explain it very well. And your nails are so pretty.
Very nice, making right now for my two nieces. I had to print the pattern out to follow, and I don't read patterns well. Im learning. But I got it . They turned out beautiful. Thk you

I love it! Thank you!
Thank you for your tutorial.
Love this hat 🤩 it is possible to make it with chunky yarn please? The yarn I have suggests a 6.5mm hook. Thank you
Baby James is the perfect model for this cute little beanie with the built-in pom! Thank you for the video. I will definitely make this beanie *AND subscribe to the channel.* 😊
Love this and Love your little model ❤
Hi, at the beginning of the video, the yarn tail is at the top of the hat. At the end of video, where you start to join, the yarn tail is at the bottom. Could you clarify, please? I love these hats. They are so fun to make and are just adorable!
I also have the starting chain at the top.
I’m very pleased with how the hat turned out. One question though……. Can I make the hat without fringe, then add a different color of fringe before sewing it together?

This is the exact clarification I needed. Thank you! 😊
Hi there, is there a part missing from the video? It doesn’t show at the beginning how you do the fringe! Yet near the end of the video it shows one fringe. Is the fringe done at end of every row if not how many rows between?
I was quite confused, also. I just frogged 43 rows. It was almost as if part of the video was missing. 😒
Reply please asap thank you
I had the same problem!
What a bummer that comments aren't monitored to answer these questions.
Looks like every second row you need to do the fringe row x
I love this beanie pattern and I would like to attempt making one for my granddaughter who is 2 years old. Now how many stitches should I cast. Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Beautiful!!
Perfect little hat for a newborn with no pompom. 🩷

Will one ball of Patons Canadian make an adult hat? So cute and no need to sew on a pom pom.
I was wondering if you ever did a video on the little bunny peeling over baby blanket? I know it’s off topic but I ran across it on your website but can’t find a video. Love you designs for everything and you videos are very helpful!!!
Cuteness overload 🥰🥰🥰
Great video
I made one very cute and easy. Thanks for sharing your video
I looked again for the fringe at time you said and can't see it written pattern confusing, could you do a short video with instructions for fringe.
You might look on line for a video about making the curls. I like the tighter curls and they aren’t as tight in this pattern. Then you can switch up her pattern and incorporate the technique to do the tighter curls!
🇮🇳🙏🙏🥰🥰Cute baby with beautiful hat
Like the baby hat
What row do you start the fringe on please

جميل جدا جدا شكرا لك حبيبتي بالتوفيق

For the bigger sizes do i still work slip stich on the last 3 stiches?
Yes.. I believe those slip stitches are to reduce the bill when it’s gathered in to close it.
How many stitch should I make for 5-6 years old
Where can you buy that yarn you are using ? Thank you for any help you can give me.
I didn’t see how to start the fringe so I won’t be doing this pattern it’s like it’s missing some instructions.edit.. I see the posts with the fringe instructions.. I do like the pattern and will try it.. I apologize for the earlier post because I didn’t see the fringe post..

@@bubbleliu3142 you work the back loop HDC into each HDC st, then 3 sl st, then chain 12 for the fringe. Ch 1 and turn. ❤❤
Super Thank you for replying! Love your work..please keep up the great work and share 😄😄
I agree. I wish the directions for the fringe was as you made the first fringe. Lucky I watch the entire video before I start. But it was confusing at first. So I guess row 2 starts a fringe row?
Hi do these hats need to be blocked and how do you deal with the fringe when blocking?
Please tell me how to make fringe in detail.
Hi, what size is this hat to fit? I’m looking for a 3-6 month one and 2-3 years. X
It was confusing you skipped the fringe part the curly top
So confused for the fringe. Help..
Love the hat, but nowhere is this video is the little pigtails explained. I ended up having to make some pigtails and sew/tie the little tails onto the hat.
She shows how to do fringe at 6:39 in video. Written pattern is in description.
❤❤❤
How many single chain you use for it
What yarn is it again?
How can we make this kind of hat for an adult ?
Scusatemi ma per un bimbo 6 anni quante catenelle devo mettere con un filato sottile lavorato con un uncinetto n.3? Ringrazio per la vostra gentilezza e in una risposta. Col cuoreeee ❤❤
Hello, do I do a fringe, at the end of every row?
If you want a more fuller look sure! But I did every other row.
I forgot she doesn’t start the instructions about the fringe until later in the video 😮💨 I was confused but she explains it very well , just the video edit is confusing.
Muy buenas noches esta muy bonito, me gustaría que lo traduciera en español gracias
Can I use a 6 weight yarn ??
Magyar feiratozást szeretnék
I don’t know how to work out chains for a newborn size please can someone help?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Could you do a half double crochet foundation row instead of doing the chain and then the row of half double crochet?
Hi could you please reply there is a part missing from the video 😊
Your missing part of this video. It jumps from 1st row to half a hat with fringe.
Thanks for saving me waste my time on it ❤
It’s a follow on from the S.C. Fun Fringe Beanie. If you make that one first, you’ll know what to do when making the H.D.C. beanie. There’s only a couple of slight changes, different stitch and 3 chain instead of 5 at the fringe end.
Sorry, I meant 3 slip stitches before the fringe
You mean I can’t finish the hat? Omg I’m so angry
Can you please show rows 4 and 5 so that i can pick up how to do the fringe?
Si può fare anche ai ferri
Have the pattern for a 4 year old too?
Pattern linknis in description for all sizes
What size is it for?
What size for a chlid abt 10 to 12 year s old please
Measure the head you are making it for & continue row's until desired size is achieved. The could include making it a few stitches taller for a larger head. Just add stitches until the desired measurement is achieved.
Hope that helps.
I made it in adult size with a chenille yarn. Basically the same framework from this pattern just a few inches taller and a few rows wider.
