Thank you Jonna, for an awesome easy pattern, I too want to make smaller sizes for my grand children. Im on a very limited income & only able to crochet free patterns @ this time. Do you have free pattern for smaller size in this hat?? grandkids wanted hats for xmas, Thank you, Abby
I'm 73 and have been crocheting since my mother taught me at 9 years . But my specialty is large doilies. I have even won awards for them BUT making a nice hat like this, was a challenge I had never tried. After watching your video, I'm ready to make hats for my family.... and my grandsons. Thanks for your easy, beautiful pattern.. You;re never too old to learn a new lesson. Thanks.
Hi Silvia, I too learned to crochet @ 9 years old, not from my parent, but from a class mate whose grandmother taught her, back then doilies were very popular and very beautiful so I Made several sets in different colors and trims for my mother. when I was expecting my 1st kid I learned to crochet baby pillows, coverlets for the crib, and decorative pillows for my mother, Now that I'm retired I've make a covering for my king size bed, and I've learned to make different styles of hats, and purses for gifts. recently I found out that my friend passed away, I regret that I didn't thank her for the wonderful gift that she shared with me way back then. it's the gift that continues to give and give, and give after all of these years."Phyllis Jackson" May you rest in Peace...
First... GREAT TUTORIAL!! SECONDLY... If you want an adult sized hat you have to do more than 22 rows! Just wrap it around your head until both ends meet. I did 35 rows to make it big and not too tight!
Thank you 😭❤️ i was getting stress because it still didnt even cover half of my head with the 23 rows... maybe she did the rows super loose or some 😅 cause i do my tight... put thank 😀 i will be doing more rows 😀
How old you were when you started crocheting? because I started since I was 13 and my neighbor taught me back then but started basic and had to work my way up. I haven't crochet since I was 13 but came back to crochet again.
I learnt to crochet two weeks ago and tonight I made this hat! I couldn’t be more chuffed. Thank you so much for sharing your pattern and explaining each step so clearly.
Update for anyone who's interested: I made it in time and it turned out way better than I expected! This was a great tutorial, thank you :) (definitely not)Pro tips I learned the hard way: 1) Make sure your hook is large enough. I used a smaller hook (6) as I got smaller yarn and it was just a tad too small. I did finish it with the said hook but I'm assuming it would have been easier with a 7 or so. 2) You don't have to superman every loop to be super tight. This will make the hook get stuck on previous loops when you are pulling through them. Making sure the loops aren't left loose to the point of leaving holes in your hat is enough.
Hello William! I like to keep my options open so I don’t work with only one brand of yarn. I have several favorites as you’ll notice in my tutorials. This pink yarn on the cover is Lion brand hometown USA. I’m a big fan of lion brand yarns. Very good quality, lovely colors and easy to work with. (Not sponsored or affiliated but would love to be 😂) I’d say they are my favorite in the bulky departments. Thank you for watching and commenting! Have a wonderful time making this hat and hopefully more crochet pieces after this!
So true tho im only 13 and all my friend laugh thinking im joking about knowing how to knit and crochet but thier face when i made them a hat and showed them a time lapse of me making it aww man
I'm 15 and I've only ever learned how to crochet a single chain. For years, a lot of my family members have been crocheters, and I've always wanted to be one too. So I sat down and made this project in a few hours, and the result was gorgeous! Thanks to your tutorial, I've found a new passion for crocheting, and can finally put the materials that once belonged to my great grandmother to good use. Thank you so much
You are the best instructor I have found to learn crochet. You show it in such a way a dummy like me can learn. Can't wait to try learning from you. Thank you so much.
Thanks for this great hat pattern! Your a super crochet teacher, good voice, nice slow manner and no crazy background music. Keep making more more videos! Thanks again.
So cute! You’re a great teacher, easy to follow thank you! I love how it’s so smooth not too much bunching when you closed hat! Beautiful hat! nice how when you worked it in together at the end of the skein without making too many knots
This was super easy! I was really discouraged by other hat tutorials but this was a definite winner! I'll be making more hats like this but it definitely needs to be made with a nice, thick, chunky yarn. I used a thinner yarn thinking that it wouldn't be a big deal and yeah. It was a huge deal 😅 but I did get it to work eventually and that was my fault entirely so I'm still pretty thrilled with how it turned out!
Hello! I’m happy you liked this tutorial. You can also use three strands of worsted together and a big hook or just check out my other tutorial: Easiest Worsted Crochet Hat | Easy Ribbed Hat | Beginner Friendly | Right Handed | Unisex Hat ua-cam.com/video/kcrwwFUS5p8/v-deo.html Thank you for watching and commenting!
I'm a beginner/intermediate crochet artist, and this hat is very easy and fast! Most importantly, Jonna's directions are absolutely perfect! I've used many UA-cam vids to help me crochet various scarves and and hats. Her directions are absolutely perfect!!! Thank you!
I made this for my best friend and they loved it! Thank you for the easy tutorial!! Only thing I altered was I did 27 rows of stitches instead of 23, to make the hat a little wider. :)
I recently decided to learn to crochet after moving to Colorado and have tried watched several different tutorials. This one is by far the easiest to follow. Thank you from a new subscriber.
I tried crocheting when I was maybe 8 and it’s been about 2-3 years and I started again!! I used your tutorial for a hat cause I want to make hats for my aunts cats (she wanted my grandma to do it but she said no 😂) so I’m gonna surprise her with these! I’m just gonna shorten it a little amuse it’ll most likely be too big😊 thank you for this!!
Thank you so much. This was a very easy to follow instructions. I tried other videos, but yours was so neat and easy to follow. Thank you for showing it slowly . Look forward to many more videos from you. Thank you .thank you
I started crocheting yesterday.. made my first few potholders yesterday, and today I made this hat.. I will never again have to buy a hat! This tutorial is absolutely brilliant! Super easy to follow and the finished product is soooo cute!!!!
Is it wrong that I just started learning to crochet 48 hours ago, and I'm ready to make this complicated (for me) hat? In all fairness, my grandma taught me a bit when I was young. But I feel good about it! These videos motivate me heavily!❤
Thanks so much. This is, by far, one of the easiest tutorials to follow on crocheting a beanie. I've tried a bunch of other ones but you're instructions are the easiest to follow. Plus you have these little hints that are extremely helpful for a beginner. Thank you so much.
Loved the pattern and clarity of instructions. I used super bulky yarn, a K hook, 33 chain stitches to start, 36 rows, for a 20.5 wide x 12.25 tall rectangle. It made a perfect adult-sized hat. I needed two 5 oz./ 87 yard skeins. There’s enough left to make a same-yarn pompon.
@maureen Jepsen. I decided to try a hat to your measurements and the ribbing ended up going sideways 20.5 and it did in fact measure 12.25 tall but I had no idea that the ribbing would not go straight up and down but rather sideways. What happened? Do you have a pic of yours made to these measurements? thank you
Jonna, I'm a 60 year old guy who decided on a whim that I wanted to crochet a hat! I'm so glad I chose your video. So clear, easy to follow. I've gone back to this video again and again to check what I'm doing. To those that are using this video, I would agree that you may need to do more than 23 rows. It also depends on the size yarn and hook you use, and the tension you're using. I'm on my fourth hat now, and I don't even count. I just hold it up to my head and judge that way. Also, make sure you go all the way to the end of each row! Two of my hats became the incredible shrinking hat, and I had to unravel more than half to fix them.
Hello Jhon, I’m really happy you enjoyed this tutorial and got to make some hats! This yarn I used is very thick. I have a new tutorial out for a super bulky hat. The Cozy Cabin beanie hat. I hope you get to watch and make that one too. Thank you for watching and commenting. I hope with your comment more men will be inspired to crochet.
@@JonnaMartinezCrochet thank you for responding! I will be looking for other videos of yours soon I'm sure. I can remember my sister teaching me how to chain stitch when I was about 8, so I knew I could do at least that! I was a professional artist and sculptor for many years so I knew I could do it, I just needed a good teacher. My purpose was that christmas was coming up and my wife wanted something warm. Shes a bit difficult (thats all I'll say) so i was really nervous. She was extremely touched when I gave it to her and couldn't believe I had made it. She said no one had ever done such a thing for her! Then last week she got mad at me gave it back! Ha! Just crazy. I'm sure she'll ask for it back another time. Also, we adopted my two granddaughters 4 and 6, and doing crochet really helps me to relax, unwind with them. The 6 year old really wanted to learn too, so I've tried a little bit to help her, but it may be beyond her dexterity right now. My goal is to make each of my grandchildren and adult children a hat. Thank you again for sharing! Would love to share some pictures of my art with you
Literally mind blown right now. I learned to crochet in high school and recently decided to start crocheting again. This is the easiest method ever!! Thank you!
I just started to crochet, it is my stress relief from a VERY taxing job. I'm currently making a blanket, next up are hats for my loved ones. This video is making my hesrt so happy!!
I have made a couple beanies one for my daughter and one for one grandson and they both turned out very nice, they both loved them. Thank you so much for the wonderful and very easy tutorial ❤️
Just ordered the recommended yarns and crochet hook from Amazon. Can’t wait to start my project. This is the best tutorial video for beginners. Thank you!
i did this in about 4 hours over a course of 2 days and I just started crocheting the day before! I first learned how to do a half double stitch but i like only going through the back way more. it looks much nicer. Thank you!!
I’ve looked at many videos for a beginner hat pattern and yours is by far the easiest for me. You keep it simple and easy to understand. Thank you for taking the stress out of a new challenge and making it so fun to do! I can’t stop making hats. I hope you have other patterns . I will be watching.
Hello Sue! I hope to be adding more beginner friendly tutorials soon. I’m so happy you enjoyed this tutorial and have been making hats! I have a matching scarf for this hat so make sure to see that one too. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I am beyond excited I found this. My son in law loves the beanies I made him a few years ago and I am going to make him more but I wanted an easier way to do them other than the normal crochet in the round beanies. I can make him beanies in all sorts of colors and as many as he wants. I taught myself how to crochet in 1995.
I know I'm commenting 3 years after you posted this tutorial, but I just wanted to say that I LOVE this hat. I just finished making it with Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick in the colour way Astroland. I made a pom pom with the same yarn for the top. I am OBSESSED! I want to make more hats with this pattern! Maybe some last minute Christmas gifts. I used an N hook, and made a starting chain of 30 instead of 27.
That’s awesome! Congratulations on your first project. I hope you make many more of these hats. They make great gifts. Thank you for watching and choosing my tutorial. ❤️
this video is awesome, i have never crocheted anything before and was able to make this hat in one day. you explained everything so well. i did have to add extra rows because i must have a giant head lol but just measured around my head until it fit. i am totally going to make more and maybe try one in the worsted weight. thanks for such a great tutorial!!
I am relatively inexperienced at crochet but this was a straightforward pattern that allowed me to make an impressive hat. Great tutorial!! The closure at the top was tight. Thanks for providing an alternative to the confusing magic circle that gapes. I added 7 extra stitches to my chain, along with several rows, but this pattern was so simple I felt confident in making the adjustments. Thanks for providing a truly beginner level pattern!!
This was my first ever crochet project and it turned out great! This was very simple and clear to follow. Thanks Jonna :) my family will love their handmade Christmas gifts this year!
Congratulations on making your first crochet project!! I’m so happy you picked my tutorial 💞 Have fun making the rest of your gifts. Handmade is the best❤️ Thank you for watching and commenting.
Oh, What a great tutorial. Thank you so much for sharing your version of closing up the top of the hat. Now, I can confidently make hats to donate to the family homeless shelters this fall.
I appreciate people’s thoughts and the kind words keep me motivated to make more content. So I like to make sure my subscribers know they are heard. UA-cam sometimes doesn’t show all of the comments so I miss some but I do try to keep up. ❤️ Thank you so much for watching and writing this comment!
I rarely take the time to comment on youtube videos but for this one, I had to. My brother loves when I make him things for Christmas and this year he asked for a hat (knowing full well that I've never crocheted or knitted before LOL). I am always up for a creative challenge so I went out to get the tools I needed and then sat with your video this afternoon/evening and I honestly couldn't have done it without your tutorial. Clear, concise, great quality and perfect speed to pause when I needed to. This is one of the best tutorials I've come across, perfect for a complete beginner like me. Thanks so much!
Love this tutorial. It is an easy hat, as you mentioned. What I really like is the way you explain the "why," of your method, and the look we will get. Great tutoring!
I enjoy watching this tutorial but I notice that when I got to 27 chains it wasn't enough and I started to crochet when I was 13 and my neighbor taught me back then but I stop because its was hard and I only did chains instead of doing single and double and we didn't had youtube back then. I came back from those years to learn it from the begging and by watching this tutorial was helpful as I was following it but it wasn't enough because it came out small and had to make 62 chains when I watch other tutorials.
Idk what I did wrong but my hat came out way to short and way to wide . But you made it very easy to follow and I learned a lot !!!! My very first thing I ever crochet! Thanks
I really don’t understand who could dislike this video. I’ve attempted to crochet so many times over the last however many years and always gave up bc it was too hard for me and stuck with simple knitting. finally about 2 weeks ago I managed to get that hang of crocheting. And this, is such a simple tutorial. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS🥺🥺
I’ve been practicing very simple crochet for maybe an hour if my life, I have the wrong yarn and the wrong hook size, still totally working! We’ll see if I can finish.... Thank you!! Edit: finished in time for Christmas! My Nana loved it!! Thank you!
I DID IT! Oh my gosh! Hubby immediately stole it away. Now I need to make a few more hats. Could you do a tutorial on a slouching hat? You made this sew easy. (Pun intended)
No I don’t. Because the chain isn’t counted. If you count the chain then you skip the first stitch. Sometimes it’s great to use a stitch marker in the chain to make sure we don’t use it. Or putting stitch markers into the first and last stitches. Thank you for watching and commenting! 💞
Thank you for your video tutorial. I didn't not crochet for so many years. Now I'm turning 80 in few months..So happy that I was able to make 2 torques for my 2 grandchildren. More grandchildren are ordering..So I' ll try my best to make more. Thank you for your instructions and for inspiring me..I guess you made lots of people do their creative art with lots of inspiration.
I love this pattern and you are such a great instructor! I began to crochet about a year ago and made one of these for my granddaughter. I added a furry pom pom, too. She loved it! Then I made one each for my daughter and SIL. They were also pleased. I’m now going to make one for myself. Thanks again for your wonderful video and this pattern. 😊
I am so happy to hear all of this! These hats do make great gifts! That is wonderful you’ll be making one for yourself now. ❤️ Thank you for watching and commenting!
Doing this for the first time and I somehow ended up doing what I’ve found is a “yarn over slip stitch” for the whole thing 😂 oh boy I’ve got some practicing to do
Thank you so much for this video. My first ever crochet project successfully completed and first ever crochet hat made!!! Instructions were clear and easy to follow through to the end and are indeed beginner friendly. Thank you!!!!
I’m so happy you liked this tutorial and found it beginner friendly! Congratulations on your first crochet project! Great job. Thank you for choosing my tutorial. Welcome to the world of crochet. Thank you for watching and commenting ❤️❤️❤️
♥thanks for this tutorial ♥im done making the scarf for my husband and now im starting to make his winter hat with your pattern ♥ thank you so much and i watched many videos and this one is easy. 🇯🇵
I'm teaching 5 of my 9 granddaughters to crochet. I think with winter coming, this will be our next project! Thank you for the pattern and the actual beginners tutorial!
This has honestly been such an easy tutorial!! I'm a beginner, and this is my first time making a hat and it was soooo easy!! And all your instructions were amazing!!!Definitely great video, very beginner-friendly!! Thank you!
Really great to hear!! Congratulations on your first hat! I have a scarf and ear warmer in this stitch too. Check them out under videos at the top of the page when you get to my channel. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@JonnaMartinezCrochet thank you so much!!!! Oh, I will definitely check them out and I will definitely repeat the hat! I gave it to my sister and then my mother was all like ‘what I don’t get any??’ Hahaha I’m so looking forward to making more for my family! Thank you again so much! 🥰❤️
ty really much this helped us a lot as we didn’t have to spend $20 on a beanie but instead we made one with only $6 of yarn and $2 of supplies, this really saved alot
It’s because the thinner yarn makes a smaller hat. YOU NEED BULKY YARN. I cannot stress this enough. Thanks for watching. If you want to try again, use and many strands of thing yarn to make a thick one or buy super bulky yarn. And you also need an L 8mm hook.
This is the best hat tutorial I’ve seem, your a great teacher. I do have a question, when started each row after the chain do you start in the second loop? Do you have a pattern for this hat?
Barb Scott I don’t have vast crochet knowledge but my understanding is you always start in the very first stitch after chaining unless specified. Otherwise you will find you won’t crochet perfect squares/rectangles instead you will be missing a stitch so your work will curve
This was a great tutorial, but was to small for an adult so I added more rows, but it came out great. Thank you for your step to step instructions. It was so easy to follow and I was surprised at how good it came out.
I just made this Easiest Hat Ever and it turned out great. I have a small head so I used the Super Bulky Yarn with a one-sized smaller hook. I needed to make a few extra rows to fit around my head. It's nice and tight which is the way I like it. I added a pop-pom to complete the look. Thanks Jonna!
I’m so happy you enjoyed this tutorial and you were able to make a hat. Check out my similar tutorial for worsted weight yarn. Easiest Worsted Hat Ever. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I started crocheting when I was your age but then I stop because it was hard and started from basic but then I haven't crochet when I was your age and we didn't had youtube back then. this time I came back to continue crocheting but you are going to learn it fast.

I love how clear and concise this is, perfect for a beginner like me 😁
I’m happy to hear this was helpful! Mae sure to check out my easiest worsted hat ever tutorial. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hello Jhon,
I’m really happy you enjoyed this tutorial and got to make some hats!
Would love to share some pictures of my art with you
I’ve been trying to find a good hat tutorial for so long that I can understand cause I’m an absolute beginner and I’m so excited to try this
Wonderful! Thank you for choosing my tutorial. Have fun making your hat! Take your time.
Literally mind blown right now. I learned to crochet in high school and recently decided to start crocheting again. This is the easiest method ever!! Thank you!
So happy to hear you’ll pick it back up! Thank you for watching and commenting!
OMG😍😍. Perfectly easy to follow. Relatives back in NY and Boston are in for a treat! Thank you!!!
So great to hear! It’s super fun and works up so fast. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Very interesting and easy to follow. Thx
I just started to crochet, it is my stress relief from a VERY taxing job. I'm currently making a blanket, next up are hats for my loved ones. This video is making my hesrt so happy!!
This is actually so easy I recommend everyone try this tutorial 👍❤️❤️
Thank you so much!
Thank you!
Ooooh good luck ✨
i did this in about 4 hours over a course of 2 days and I just started crocheting the day before! I first learned how to do a half double stitch but i like only going through the back way more. it looks much nicer. Thank you!!
This is wonderful to hear! Yes I agree, the hdc back loop only stitch is really nice. Thank you for watching and commenting.
This is one of the first tutorials I’ve watched fully until the end - thank you!! I’ll definitely be making this hat!!
Great to hear! Thank you for watching and commenting.
I've never worked with such a large hook! Such fun! Thank you!
That’s wonderful! I’m really happy you liked this tutorial. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Omg tysm! The other tutorials kept stressing me out 😂 this one is way easier!
I used this video yesterday and made my very first hat! Great teacher! So easy to understand!
Wonderful! I’m so happy to hear it. Thank you for the positive feedback and Thank you for watching.
That was truly the easiest hat i have ever made thanks for sharing
Wonderful to hear!! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Super! Really happy to hear it! Thank you for watching and commenting what worked well for you!
Thank you for this simple, beginner-friendly pattern and great instructions! I just completed my first hat and feel quite accomplished. 😉
Omg thank you so much . I’m 13 and learning how to crochet. this is my first project and it turned out really nice 😊
I’m happy you were able to make it work! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I’m so happy you picked my tutorial 💞
Have fun making the rest of your gifts. Handmade is the best❤️ Thank you for watching and commenting.
Oh, What a great tutorial. Thank you so much for sharing your version of closing up the top of the hat. Now, I can confidently make hats to donate to the family homeless shelters this fall.
I’m really happy you found this video helpful! Thank you so much for donating your work, watching and commenting.
Omg! My mom wanted me to make her a hat, and this video was perfect! Thank you so much!!!!! 🥰🥰
I love how you reply to comments after an entire year that shows how much you care about people's comments
Thank you for your easy to understand instruction! 🤗
PS- it turned out great! My sister loved it. Thanks again!
Hi Kristina! So happy to hear this. Thank you so much for choosing my tutorial and taking the time to comment. ❤️
Beautiful hat ! Loved your well explained and easy to follow tutorial ! A job so well done ! Thankyou 😀👏👍
What size yarn are you using
Love this tutorial. It is an easy hat, as you mentioned. What I really like is the way you explain the "why," of your method, and the look we will get. Great tutoring!
❤️ I’m very happy to hear this! Thank you so much!
Your explanations throughout the video were super helpful!! Thanks for taking the time to talk through it all!!
Idk what I did wrong but my hat came out way to short and way to wide . But you made it very easy to follow and I learned a lot !!!! My very first thing I ever crochet! Thanks
You probably folded it the wrong way. Make sure your ribs are going up and down not side to side. Thank you for watching and commenting!
wren, did you use Super Bulky Yarn and an L 8mm hook? You must have this yarn or it WILL be too small.
That’s good you have someone who can use it 😊
I really don’t understand who could dislike this video. I’ve attempted to crochet so many times over the last however many years and always gave up bc it was too hard for me and stuck with simple knitting. finally about 2 weeks ago I managed to get that hang of crocheting. And this, is such a simple tutorial. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS🥺🥺
You are so kind! I’m very happy you enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for watching and commenting! ❤️
It was SO easy to make, came out great for being my first one. Thank you for posting it!!!! Love it
So great to hear!! Thank you for watching and commenting,
I’ve been practicing very simple crochet for maybe an hour if my life, I have the wrong yarn and the wrong hook size, still totally working! We’ll see if I can finish.... Thank you!!
Edit: finished in time for Christmas! My Nana loved it!! Thank you!
I’m happy you’re practicing your crochet! Thank you for watching and commenting.
beautiful ! and I was able to follow by just watching without sound, 'cause I wanted to listen to "Shallow" instead ! LOL! Thank you!!!! Lots of love
Wonderful!! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Ive watched so many crochet hat videos and this is by far the most simple one.
I DID IT! Oh my gosh! Hubby immediately stole it away. Now I need to make a few more hats. Could you do a tutorial on a slouching hat? You made this sew easy. (Pun intended)
I’m so happy you liked this video!!
I’ll keep the slouchy in mind!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@JonnaMartinezCrochet do you skip the first stitch after you chain 2 in your rows?
I mean toques..
Wish you all the best.
That’s wonderful! And happy birthday early! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thank you sooo much I finally found something easy. I am 11 and am going to make it for my bff
Wonderful! I thank you for choosing my tutorial ❤️

Hi Jonna Im relearning crochet n appreciate your clear n precise instructions Im a happy learner Thank you for your patience 😊
really excited about this i went out and got yarn, it's turning out pretty well so far!
The way you cinch up hat is genius. I really like it. I haven’t seen anyone else do it. I’m going to be doing that myself. Thanks
Thank you so much!
I’m happy you liked the video. Have fun making this hat. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Doing this for the first time and I somehow ended up doing what I’ve found is a “yarn over slip stitch” for the whole thing 😂 oh boy I’ve got some practicing to do
Well at least you know what you’ve done!don’t give up! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thank you so much for this video. My first ever crochet project successfully completed and first ever crochet hat made!!! Instructions were clear and easy to follow through to the end and are indeed beginner friendly. Thank you!!!!

You are so kind. Thank you you so much.
Your welcome
Nice tutorial! I live in central Maine. Looks like I’m going to need a hat with the cold weather creeping back in. Merry Christmas 🎄
I am just learning to crochet and your instructions are so clear and easy to follow I'm going to try this for my first project!
Wonderful! Have fun! Make sure to also check out my easiest worsted hat ever.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Oh my gosh it's so easy, thank u making one now
I'm teaching 5 of my 9 granddaughters to crochet. I think with winter coming, this will be our next project! Thank you for the pattern and the actual beginners tutorial!
This is really great! I’m sure they will love making something they can use. Thank you for watching and commenting!
It was so easy it really is beginner friendly, but it wasn’t easy for me to close the hat. I had trouble closing the top part
The best tutorial I have ever seen!!
ty really much this helped us a lot as we didn’t have to spend $20 on a beanie but instead we made one with only $6 of yarn and $2 of supplies, this really saved alot
So happy to hear it! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I followed the pattern with a thinner yarn and ended up with a baby hat😂 but for my first ever project this was perfect thanks 👍
You have to go into the back loop ONLY to form the ridges. Not through 2 loops (front & back) as usual!
TheMsdupree yes this is what I did x
It’s because the thinner yarn makes a smaller hat. YOU NEED BULKY YARN. I cannot stress this enough.
Thanks for watching. If you want to try again, use and many strands of thing yarn to make a thick one or buy super bulky yarn. And you also need an L 8mm hook.
Jonna Martinez thank you, I did end up making the hat using this method just didn’t follow the pattern and I love it! :)
I made this hat years ago for my husband and was bummed out when I lost the simple oattern....thank you, thank you!!! I've found it again!! Huzzah!
I’m 11 and I CANT BELIEVE I MADE A WHOLE HAT I LOVE THIS FRICKIN VIDEO AND I LOVE YOU THANK YOUUU❤️❤️❤️
I might actually start a small business
I’m so happy you made this hat! Good luck with your business ❤️Thank you for watching and commenting.
Amazing! I’m loving this tutorial, will try it right now! Thank you!
Great! Thank you for watching and commenting.
This was a great tutorial, but was to small for an adult so I added more rows, but it came out great. Thank you for your step to step instructions. It was so easy to follow and I was surprised at how good it came out.
I absolutely luv this technique. I'm definitely going to use it, thank you for sharing this!!
This is great to hear! I’m happy you were able to modify it to your liking. Thank you for watching.
You are so sweet, I love your work. Thanks a lot! God bless you!
I'm still a beginner in crochet and I did this hat in 2 days, I watched ALOT of videos to learn how to do it and yours is THE BEST. Really Thank you
I’m so happy you enjoyed this tutorial and you were able to make a hat. Check out my similar tutorial for worsted weight yarn. Easiest Worsted Hat Ever.

I started crocheting when I was your age but then I stop because it was hard and started from basic but then I haven't crochet when I was your age and we didn't had youtube back then. this time I came back to continue crocheting but you are going to learn it fast.
