I have made this forever. So, I added 2 cups of steamed broccoli florets and a tablespoon of parsley flakes into the crackers for color. Makes it a 1 dish meal. For a holiday meal, I add 1/2 small diced red pepper for more color.
This looks delicious. I am putting these ingredients on my grocery list right now. Can't wait to fix this next week. Thanks Paula. I love your pretty Paula towel. Love and best dishes
Love love you Paula Deen. And Thank You for shopping Publix. I will be trying your recipe. I use rotisserie chicken from Publix. But I can still use your recipe.
I haven’t made this since I retired 14 years ago. I took this often to work potlucks in the slow cooker. I always put celery in mine, and I boiled the chicken with Italian seasonings, then used the same broth to cook the spaghetti. Yum!
Our school made this using left over turkey but they used cream of chicken soup instead of mushroom cream soup. And they used spaghetti noodle and I remember them using that it was so good for a school lunch.
Did anyone else grow up making Turkey Tetrazzini with leftover Turkey meat from thanksgiving? We used to that when I was a kid. Now as an adult I just make it with Turkey breasts and take it to holiday potlucks.
I love turkey Tetrazzini, will try with chicken. My mom brought a crockpot full when I was moving into our first house. after getting married. I do add mshrooms and a small jar of red pimentos too, but I sure wouldn't turn yours down.🙋😋
This is a fantastic recipe! I’m so happy I came across your channel. You have so much to offer. It looks like I can learn a lot from you! Never stop learning, growing, and sharing your talent with us. I hope we can learn more from each other! Happy Cinco de mayo!
Hello Paula Deen and Michael and family. This looks delicious 😋😋 just like the dish my late Mother and Grandma made. It was always a hit with my brothers and I. Thank You for sharing this. God Bless you Paula and Michael and your families from a huge Paula Deen fan in Toronto Ontario Canada
Paula I first discovered this recipe about 3 weeks ago and my family loved it! Thank you so much for your down home, simple recipes, and for making it fun to watch you cook and learn from you. And by the way, I am already making this again tonight we loved it so much! Many blessings!
That really looks delicious. I think it is screaming for a/some veggies and some parsley or chives. I love a cream sauce but usually homemade, without cream of mushroom soup. But dang, I need to get tetrazzini on my menu rotation!!! Good day, y'all. ❤
For sick people home made Italian wedding soup..for friends / neighbors with a death in family I make home made assorted sandwich platter with all the fixings pickles chips etc..drop it off stay for like 5 mins and leave.
I used to cook chicken tetrazzini a lot when I was younger, and I would eat a lot from other people cooking it. All the sudden it just wasn't around anymore. For as popular as it was it just seemed to disappear. I'm excited to see it again.
This dish looks so delicious Paula I think I'm going to make it tonight and add some mushrooms to it I can hardly wait.... We tried the Chicken Parmesan lat night and absolutely loved it Thank you so much for sharing your recipes I love you guys!!!
I make a version of this that is just called chicken spaghetti, or I use turkey. I don't need the cracker crumbs or extra butter. I use a couple of canned soups, green pepper, onion, and mushrooms. Thin it out with a little whole milk and there you are ................ thanks Paula
I've been married for 45 years and have never made this fish. I think I may have to pull one together for the love of my life. Thanks Paula that looks amazing...
Out here in Utah, we take potatoes au gratin, but we call ‘em “funeral potatoes”. Everyone from Utah knows this recipe! 🤣They’re called “cheesy potatoes” when they’re for Sunday dinner. 😋 Always topped with corn flakes! Standard Utah Funeral menu: ham, funeral potatoes, bagged iceberg salad, dinner rolls, and jello salad for dessert. Like if you know what I’m talking about 🙌🏻🤣
They never have that at lubys when I go, I got it one time and it was the best thing ever. You can get it in the freezer section at heb but it’s nasty and not the same at all lol When my dad died, so many people brought us food. People I’d never even seen before. It was nice. I’ll never forget the awesome fruit salad someone brought. Don’t even know who it was bc the food never stopped just appearing all the time lol
You're missing the nutmeg in the sauce? I like the original recipe. And the breadcrumb topping should be thicker, with pats of butter on it for baking!
Paula...the number 1 raw chicken rule is never use it on a wooden cutting board!!! 11:33...is anyone else going crazy about that one spot not covered by crackers 🤣?
♥ Much love from California, Paula and Family Back in the day we would bring food to a close family friend's house, though not everyone on the same block would be in the same social circles, but if you knew the household very well and if someone was gravely ill or some one had passed away, we would, but much of that is gone now. I don't what to do in social situations anymore.
Same here but over the years it transitioned to taking food to the funeral home as they have a kitchen area for family and visiting friends. Covid changed that also, they don't allow it anymore.
Oh my when I was younger I had the freezers full..when needed.everything I fixed was homade ..I never bought anything already prepared. I never have used a boughten pie shell.i still make the pie crust.. And still make the homade noodles..
This is too much dairy for my digestive system. I might substitute with sauteed mushrooms, make a roux to decrease dairy amount, and thyme maybe. Idk ...thanks for the reminder to make Tetrazzini
What dishes do you bring for meal trains, like to funerals, sick friends, and families with new babies?
Chicken pot pie, a ham, breakfast casserole, a bowl of pink eye purple hull peas.
Baked spaghetti, or any pasta casserole! Tater Tot Casserole is a go to as well, especially in the cooler months up here in the Midwest.
Million Dollar Spaghetti (its like baked spaghetti)
Chicken Mornay, lasagna, squash casserole
@@lorihughes7017 oh my, yes!!! That stuff is delicious!!
Only had tetrazzini at my godmother's house. She made it with turkey. Brings back memories. Thanks Miss Paula.
I have made this forever. So, I added 2 cups of steamed broccoli florets and a tablespoon of parsley flakes into the crackers for color. Makes it a 1 dish meal. For a holiday meal, I add 1/2 small diced red pepper for more color.
yes!,,,Broccoli!
I use green and yellow squash. Broccoli /peppers sound good as well.
it's supposed to have mushrooms also.
My Mom made this every week throughout 1975 and 1976. I loved it, great memories 💜😎thanks Paula!🥰
My aunt made chicken tetrazzini and I never forgot it, thanks for the food memory.😄
My momma made this and added celery, peas and mushrooms. SO SO GOOD......

I make this dish often. I skip putting onions in the casserole but top it with fried onions instead of crackers. Love it!
I love the crunchy topping. The more butter and bread crumbs on top, the better.
Love love you Paula Deen. And Thank You for shopping Publix. I will be trying your recipe. I use rotisserie chicken from Publix. But I can still use your recipe.
Paula that dish sounds so good, I will be making this very soon. I use the Ritz Crackers for my toppings and it’s great! Thanks Paula so sharing.
A box of dry stove top stuffing mix with a few pats of butter is good on this dish. Good funeral or feel better casserole. Thank you

Do you ever wish you would have put your convection oven in your main kitchen?
