I think there is one MAJOR issue to be concerned regrading this upgrade. The OEM mount insert is designed to allow movement and provide a level of damping. Reduction or removal of damping is a personal choice but I think it is sensible to base that choice on acceptance that there may be a risk involved, which could cause a lot of tension on the transmission itself. I addition the transmission has its own vibration and tolerance of movement that could protect the transmission itself too. What about these concerns?
Cool.. just ordered the same item. Will pop it in this weekend.. Very cool jack.. hadn't seen this type before... definitely would save a lot of time and frustration trying to locate a good spot for a jack. Wish Audi would put more accessible hard points under the car... My old M3 was super easy to jack up and find a spot for a stand... Audi.. is a PIA in this area

Its aluminum and it fills the gap in the rubber mount so that there is no movement. It eliminates slop when shifting. Its an amazing difference, so much smoother shifting.

Need help, just bought a 2009 Audi A4 Quattro when shifting into D P N S1 it doesn’t vibrate and is smooth, but when shifting into reverse I get this vibration that bugs me
My 2015 A5 quattro convertible has some transmission jerk that annoys me, especially down shift from 2nd to 1st. Would this help solve the problem? Also would a trans fluid flush help at all? It has 70k miles. Thanks.
Shifts get tighter with the insert. Do not flush the trans, only drain and refill. It will not help anything but will extend the life of the transmission for sure!
@@Bizija123 when you flush it, you’re using a machine to push all the old fluid out with new fluid, with a drain and refill, you’re just letting the old fluid drain from the pan, but not changing all of it.
What did you use the screwdriver against exactly? I am having this exact issue right now, but for both bolts ☹️ what type of screwdriver as well, flat head?
13.98 at 99mph in quarter mile. The limitation on the 2009-2010 is the 6 speed auto transmission. Manual trans or the 7 speed auto on 2011 and up are faster.

@@MrPradeepantz I have 152k on the chassis, original motor and tranny mounts. Wonder if the vibration is because of the older and softer mounts.
@@adchop i have around 103k on the odo. After removal of the insert, I have developed a constant low end vibration in D mode. Perplexed

This video and described job is very helpful , but what is different ? actually what is purpose of this upgrade ?
It takes the slop out of the shifts. Shifts are much tighter after.

The transmission bracket insert helped big time, much better shifting now! The second to first downshift is not even noticeable.

Need to move the engine up or down to line up the bolts, use a jack and give it a wiggle
