I think there is one MAJOR issue to be concerned regrading this upgrade. The OEM mount insert is designed to allow movement and provide a level of damping. Reduction or removal of damping is a personal choice but I think it is sensible to base that choice on acceptance that there may be a risk involved, which could cause a lot of tension on the transmission itself. I addition the transmission has its own vibration and tolerance of movement that could protect the transmission itself too. What about these concerns?
Paul, now that you've put some miles on the car with this mod, are you getting any additional harmonic vibrations or whine that others have experienced when they've done this upgrade?
I have the dreaded whine between 40-60 mph after installing the 034 drivetrain insert package pretty sure its the differrential mounts not sure which one tho 2016 Audi A6 3.0T
Great video! Can this be done to a 2013 Audi A8L 3.0 Supercharged? Also a 2014 Audi Q7 same motor. If so please guide me in what to order I would appreciate it.
I just did the 034 stage 1 ECU and TCU tune, plus the 034 silicone intake tube. It's excellent. Great power and more SC whine. No need for a full intake. Just mod your stock airbox like guys on Audizine do.
I've had this set installed for about 6 months now. Improvement overall, which has been good especially for downshifting at speed. However, I now have gotten a clunking sound when slowing down towards a stop and accelerating from a slow roll. Sound appears to be from the rear of the car, but not sure if due to the rear diff and carrier inserts. If I let go of the gas and go back on (not necessarily aggressively), I can replicate the clunk. Any thoughts of what could be causing this?
Aviation Direction interesting mine has started doing this and I don’t have these mounts.. coming to a stop it clunks and it’s getting to the point where it’s annoying to drive in traffic as it clunks ‘in and out of gear’ while at slow speed on the brakes, seems a bit grabby.. I have a DSG box
I'm hearing the same sound on my 2014 S4. It happens exactly the way you've described. I actually ended up removing the 034 rear mount insert and rear carrier inserts. The sound disappeared and I drove the car for 2 months. This past weekend I installed just the single rear mount insert - I drove it around for 3-4 days and there was no knocking sound. I then installed the two remaining rear carrier inserts - and the knocking sound re-appeared the very next day. I believe the knocking sound comes from the carrier inserts (the two inserts furthest back) Why it happens, I'm not sure - but it's hard to get a torque wrench up there, so I definitely have them nice and snug. I used silicone and blue loctite when installing them. Were you ever able to find a fix?
Audi doesn’t build their cars passed the comfort and drivability that they set them up for . These mounts are either used to put in when you have noticed urs worn out to restore some of the cars tightness back. Or what you do is your building your car passed the threshold of power the car was set up to make and then you need stiffer mounts due to more play in the mounts that are used oem.
@@JoJoDotCom888 I ended up loosening all the bolts around it, which are part of the gearbox. That gave me a little play to finally get the bolts back in. So much for a quick 10min job, took me like 40min to do everything
He's saying the NVH won't be impacted until there is sufficient load on the OEM rubber pieces (ie. Hard driving) to deform them and place the Aluminum pieces under compression. A solid Poly mount has a uniform stiffness so doesn't have this characteristic.
good video, but why are you using a torque wrench to take the fasteners off? nice way to destroy the fancy inner workings of a torque wrench. next time use a regular ratchet.

people have been doing these mods for literally a decade and i have never once heard of something bad happening because of it.
Overthinking it bud...
Do you have a link to what I’ll need for this install on a VW 2013 CC VR6 4motion.
Is the change actually felt when driving? And what’s the purpose of the bolts that you put in the diffs?
How many miles does the stock ones start to wear out?
This is enhancing the factree one, not replacing it

If this transmission mount insert upgrade is so great at such a cheap price why doesn’t Audi make it OEM ?

Sorry I did not understood the difference with polyurethane inserts. Do aluminium inserts bring more perceived vibrations?

Valid point. However, he never uses a torque wrench in this video. He does it off camera. That’s just a regular ratchet in his hand.
