Carhartt Zipper Pulltab Repair/Replacement

- Just beginning and this is raw video, It appears I have a lot to learn about light and camera angles. But If you have any carhartt gear with a broken pull they aren't hard to fix and Carhartt will take care of you. Here are the instructions that Carhartt sent me.
Slider Instructions: To remove the slider you will need to remove the top stop of the zipper with a pair of needle nose pliers by peeling it away. You will then remove the slider and then at a 90 degree angle slide on the new slider and pinch the top stop back on the jacket. This will take approximately 3-5 minutes.
If you take a regular side cutters/wire cutter, you can split the clip by putting the side cutter blade into the gap of the clip. This will open the clip. Also, I believe you are supposed to unzip the zipper and only work on the one side..... Just to update you. My zipper pull arrived yesterday and with a little determination I was able to install it. Works great and my old worn jacket has a chance at a new life. Just getting broken in : ). Thanks for the video.

Thanks for this video! After seeing this, I messaged on Carhartt website through Live Chat, explained I needed zipper pull, size/model of jacket. I received free zipper pull in a week. I just fixed the zipper and saved $10.

Those zipper stops are a pain in the keister! Luckily, I did such a bad job installing my last zipper pull replacement on my hoodie, it fell off and I didn't have to deal with it. I kind of wish Carhartt would spend an extra 7 cents and use a higher quality metal on the zipper pull, but I don't mind replacing it every couple years. My hoodie is back in action again!!!

Your video was very helpful as Carhartt didn't include instructions with my replacement zipper head. I felt so badly though that you had such a struggle with taking the pull stops off. If the situation ever repeats for you try a small flat head screwdriver to get them off, my son recommended it to me.

Thanks so much. I used needle nose pliers to grab one side and pull outward. Came right off. I had to widen the gap on the pull to get it to slide into place.
Thanks alot...mine just broke like this. It would have been so helpful if Carhartt made a how to fix a zipper video for us, it is 2020. That way they could send us the link to the video and a zipper repair kit🤔🤷♂️👍

I used a very sharp narrow ended sculpting tool and managed to pry it off thankfully! Had to hold the tool with some grips, shoved it at the end of the stop and turned it so it would open up a bit @_@; I didn't know you can get replacement parts! Though if the replacement part is expensive, you can get a size 10 zipper, thats what I know unknowingly xD Thanks so much for uploading! Those things are tricky buggers!

Man you were making me nervous with your knife around your fingers. I think you were suppose to take the top stop off not the bottom. Which I saw on another video and seems easier. Good info
I just chatting with Carhartt customer service. Definitely the best way to contact them. Have your model number ready and they'll send you a free replacement pull for your zipper.
Also, thanks for this video! You did make me a little nervous with that knife though, LOL :-P
WHen I say I had a hard time getting the new pull it was because the first time they set me the wrong size and I had given them all of the correct information. So I had to call them back and go through it all again.
What do I say to them to get a replacement zipper

How much will they charge me for a replacement zipper? I've had my jacket for years and the zipper is the only thing even remotely worn out.
I don’t know, but I’m thinking if you can get it installed they might send it free. If it were me I’d make a video showing them I owned the jacket and how it was worn. I would post it to UA-cam and send them an email tell them what you want and send them a link to the video.
Where did you find the replacement slider and zipper?
The slider(what I call a pull tab) was the only thing broken. I got it directly from carheartt. I think I emailed them and told them my issue and what model and size of coveralls I had. But the first time they sent the wrong size and I had to email them again and they sent me the proper one.
