Very good video. Used a similar method to fix a sleeping bag just now. Alternative methods involved cutting ends off and re-sewing so this method was great.

Thank you. I sew but never knew this method. My bfs favorite rainbow sweater’s zipper came off on one side, and I thought I would have to replace it with one of my zippers for sewing. Only if I did that it would never match the sweater like the original zipper did. He asked me if I could fix it, I told him I didn’t know how but wouldn’t not try. I’m perplexed at how easy it is, and ill for sure he fixing more zippers in my future. Think about it, we all understand a zippers mechanism. But why did I think it was impossible to fix this with a screwdriver, pliers, needle and thread. I honestly thought this was a sewing machine job.

You helped me reattach the zipper on my jacket! It helps a lot when there's a stopper in place, most sources online say to remove it, but you just need to reinsert it on that side and the stopper will do its job of zipping up correctly.

at 5:40 in the video, it says the two sides of the zipper with zip together. They don't!. Even pulling the puller all the way back, it won't connect the two sides of the zipper.
