Did that number 2/6 method all throughout my high-school years, it saved my backpack and old pencil cases from the trash. Plus many dollars !! Good to see it still out there 🥰
Excellent. I’ve been a tailor for years now and have fixed many a zipper using these techniques, but I’ve never seen anyone replace the zipper teeth! Thanks! 👍
Wow,what a great display video for showing how to solve multiple zipper problems for different situations that could be frustrating ! Well done and much appreciated by us all. 🥰
This is wonderful! I love learning how to keep and maintain the things I love and paid good money for. Thank you for this old fashioned values expertise. I learned so much. Looking forward to more in the future. Thank you!
bought a wonderful jacket from Salvation Army a few teeth were missing .took it to my favorite taylors with many years of exp erience. she wouldnt do .I was soo sad but now I can fix it myself .thanks ! so much and probably saved a bundle !
Candle wax was what we used when I was a kid -- 60 years ago :-) Being a much thicker lubricant, it doesn't wash off even in the laundry, so you can imagine how well it performs in the rain.
5:20 Vaseline is unsuitable. Way too greasy. The product of choice is silicone grease. Applied very sparingly. But it only helps if the *lower rails from the zipper are not yet worn across the width.*
This video is really good and complete, it describes different scenarios of how a zipper not working. Very complete and iistructure. Thank you so much.
@@creationholic101whats the liquids that u keep using it would be a good idea to mention what ur using on different zips rather then jst going ahed without any mention as to what ur using..
Thanks for the video, so helpful! The zip on my leather bag recently split, I've replaced the metal zipper but im still having the same issue where the zip splits in the same place each time. Im willing to replace the zip and hand stitch it myself but I would rather it not come to that. Would you suggest that I have a look at the teeth of the zipper and try to straighten them? Thanks
Você é muito habilidoso em consertos de zíper. Parabéns. Adorei o vídeo, pois tenho algumas situações iguais a que você mostrou. Aliás, depois do teu vídeo os problemas estarão resolvidos. Tupiara/Brasil-RJ
For bags that have a missing zipper tab, I just use a key ring - no need for thread and paperclip. Using a large safety pin also work, but key ring works great. Have used safety pin for pants and sweaters. Just simply clamp or hammer the needle end section so it won't unpin.
.. Safety pin can accidentally open & pierce through your finger unnoticingly...You can use a pliers to press down the safety cage so that the pin never comes out accidentally... .
New Subscriber and Like. Great video with several different problems and fixes. I think I have had all of these over the years, but never knew how to fix. My jackets with broken, in some way, zippers have become pullovers that I never wear anymore. Thanks to you they are again zipper working jackets.

..Oh my God !...Now I'll be wearing all my favourite old jackets again...Now I have the easy solution to repair the zipper just by myself !...I'll probably put some superglue to secure the new parts of the zip. .so that when I close & open it, the tiny things don't move from their places....Thanks a trillion for saving my old jackets....I'm your subscriber now... . 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼💙🙏🏼
Would you explain the purpose of using the lighter about 2:45 in? Is the type of glue you used to fix the side bottom of the zipper ordinary superglue? The usefulness of the information contained in this wordless video is amazing. Thank you for sharing it.
If your flys wont stay up as I have found pn really cheep jeans put a thin bit of super glue on the bit where the metal joins the fabric, give it at least 10-20 minutes to MAKE SURE IT IS DRY! first before you do up the zip. It just gives a bit more friction to stop it sliding down, if it is tight don't worry just keep working it and it will wear off the excess glue.
I don’t really like the safety pin for zipper on jeans or other pants since that can deform, leaving the pointy tip bare and it wouldn’t only mean the zipper be undone but it also leaving a poking hazard. I much prefer the paperclip option, with the superglue and tread reinforcement and if you do need the part that the zipper can be held up, just put a keychain ring (or just any double ring/spring type of ring) around the zipper end and put that ring over the button before closing the button Absolutely loved the others and learned some very useful tricks so thanks!
muy ingenioso, mucha imaginación, queréis saber cuanto tiempo duran esas ñapas? 0,3 o 4, lo de el remache ya es el no va mas, dale unas puntadas con hilo lumbreras.
For the last one I used a short elastic band, the other end was wrapped around the button, when I closed the fly to button them up the zip closed automatically

Yeah, my parents used that too. Because it's not a fluid, it also never spilled on the fabric, the wax only got on the zipper

Instead of vaseline on sticky zipper teeth, get an old candle and rub it on them. It's neater and lubricates just as well.
Yes, this works well.

Graphite from a soft pencil also works well.
It does not work "as well," but it is cleaner.
