Honestly S/o Rich and tan, this is the reason ive been subbed to this channel for 3 years. No pretentious fashion high horse, just everyday clothing tips with some entertainment.
Appreciate that bro!! Just tryin to make fashion fun 🙏🙏

Idk i think wearing workwear for the trend only is kinda pretentious but that’s just me.
@@carlwest5936 exactly! What the hell is he talking about? These guys aren’t paragons of style or fashion. Everything they wear is always something that everyone else is wearing. “Oh, let’s wear workwear and talk about it because everyone else is wearing it right now!” How about being original?

Whats the mnml story about?
As a blue collar worker and someone from a blue collar worker family this trend is funny as hell to me.
lmaoo they’re out here beating up brand new jackets tryna make them look worn🤣
@@dustinperalta1619 lmao😅😅😅
And also so stupid, like they care about what they wear while doing some hard labour.
@@dustinperalta1619 haha a carhartt is a necessity to me and others that live in Indiana. When I see worn ones or worn for one season ones I grab them off my local Facebook market place for $20-$30 and sell them to white collared workers for $100+ 😂😂😂
@@dustinperalta1619 exactly lol I’ve never gotten more compliments on my 6 year old beater carharrtt jacket till this year
Me just trying to buy some clothes for work, but everything is sold out...
Glad that workwear is in style now. Its what Ive been used to for a few years. Work construction and when I get off work to hang with the boys, all i gotta do is take off my orange vest and throw on a pair of af1s and im set lol
dont u sweat or get dirty
@@fleichy6425 lol yeah I do. But because of covid, I usually just hang with my boys after work for lil bit and drink. Then I take a shower when I get home. But if I’m going out in public, I take a shower and switch my drawers and undershirt
Agree. I work in labour and my black C003 coat is SO versatile it can be dressed up or down. Put on some tan double fronts and black nubuck timberlands and BOOM you got a nice fit
its always been durable , comfortable and affordable , just like dickies ben davis back in the day .
summary of this video:
1. dont wear neon construction clothes and beat up jackets
2. wear ur size
3. beat up your jacket
4. just thrift

What’s with the Kanye shade in the cover art he definitely is the only reason most of y’all even dress like this he been doing that for years way before it was a trend ?
He looks better than the other random one tbh
From my perception I believe they may have been referencing that Kayne has on a work wear jacket that looks too similar to a denim jacket and doesn’t quite have the same popular aesthetic of the faded beige, black or grey ones. Obviously it’s up to personal preference in what colour you buy however that the message I got from it. Hope that helps !
clickbait lol
Exactly...”either you die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain” is the perfect quote to explain it.
exactly my thought, faded clothing , oversized , jordan 1s, cropped jackets, workwear, flannel, kayne did it years before everyone else

That had me laughing too 😂 I wouldn’t of ever thought that was a thing LOL
Or, you know, you could put in real work instead.
😂😂 even in fashion working hard is a rare thing. Hell they'll pay for someone to wear their jacket and work with it.
I might find a new career just breaking down new clothes
For #5, those Carhartt tees from boutiques and the Carhartt tee from like Dick's/department stores aren't the same. If you ever bought both you can feel and see the difference in sizing and quality. Boutiques carry Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP), it's a separate line. Surprised you guys don't know this.
ua-cam.com/video/FbmoPTbtZsg4/v-deo.html0
ofc they dont know shit , theyre just hypebeasts hopping onto any new trend lol

wild that people dont know WIP, amazing products. if you can get the WIP version if the jackets (i got mine on sale) totally worth it. Crazy details and high quality construction

Imagine the construction workers that actually need the workwear...and now kids are buying them out for the “Look” I would be heated haha

@DeathRowRecords Imagine not being able to show up to a job site cause a little dipshit bought out the last Carhartt Workpants or whatever Im swinging
I am heated. I wear my arctic quilt 12oz firm duck coat every day to the worksites for 2 years and it looks great. Now to see these simps wearing snapbacks with it its just.. idk a fad i guess. Damn hypebeasts
Carl west is apparently the only one who can wear carhartt, all of us aren't good enough. He cares so much that he said in his own words I'm heated. Imagine being mad about someone wearing clothing. Not only is that dumb but that's pretty weird if you ask me. If people wearing clothes makes you that mad then your one weird individual.
@@sylasmalone6126 Its workwear. Not “drip” gucci gang hypebeast crap. Its meant to be worked in at worksites not worn with $2000 jordans in the mall. Its an authentic brand and you hypebeasts are ruining that.
The reason why high fashion stores have a different price than other places is most likely because they had carharrt wip and not regular in-line carharrt
yeh I was surprised they didn't mention it
I thought they forgot at first, but after watching that part over again, I can see they didn't know the difference
@@rampageslegacy5093 Yeah carhartt work in progress (wip) is more streetwear oriented. The sizing is about the same but the cut can be a bit slimmer. You might see different colors like teal and purple that you wouldn't see in regular carhartt. They also use different materials so it might be softer than regular carhartt. Regular carhartt is meant to be worn specifically for work and carhartt is more everyday but still great quality
WIP? More like RIP-OFF.
OG carhartt is built MILES better than WIP. You get SO much more for the $. They only made WIP to cater to the hypebeasts in this vid
Good luck finding carhartt jackets at the thrift; especially the Detroit jackets. Vintage resellers are eating these up at the thrift and selling them for $100+.

I just copped a brand new one off the website and will have fun with this one
C003 Arctic Quilt Traditional Duck Coat is a good alternative to detroit but its longer and much warmer.

Do: tell us the mnml story.
Don't: keep the mail story to yourself richie.
ua-cam.com/video/FbmoPTbtZsg2/v-deo.html4
The reason you find larger or bigger in coats is because most of the time it’s bought to be worked in outside so you usually size up to fit thick hoodies underneath the coat. I love where it snows 5 months out of the year and I work construction that’s why I know lol. I only wear carhartt coats so I get a large to fit heavy weight carhartt hoodies under the coat.
I work construction and I’m 5’8 wearing a medium. I guess I’m never getting it 💀💀💀
Apparently they dont know Carhartt WIP. Its not the same as the ones u get at a normal T-shirt outlet stores.
Their just hypebeast hoping on trends, trying to tell people whats cool or not but yet they don't have any personal style in any way. It's like they got that cali douchebag starter kit.
the reason why high end retailers charge that much for carhartt is cus it's carhartt WIP pieces, which are generally pricier. the carhartt yall copped were regular workwear carhartt pieces so the prices will vary heavy.

@@jasminkhan1012 that video got more dislikes than likes, get that basura outta here bum
WIP quality is NOWHERE near OG carhartt. WIP is for the city streets, OG is for actual work.
@@carlwest5936 im not comparing the quality my guy. im explaining why the prices of carhartt may be way more on high-end streetwear websites.
@@Chris-ex4sz yeah different demographics i know. I just gotta say you get much more for less with original carhartt
Cahartt has a line called "Carhartt WIP". Its more fitted than the original Carhartt. Its been very popular in Europe ,UK and Japan for years. I followed the trend from Japanese fashion magazines back in the day (there was no instagram at the time) Im an older cat I had both my WIP Michigan jackets for almost 10 years now from a UK shopping site. Weird that work wear has been getting popular with the younger crowd in the US for the year 2020 when it has been for dudes my age for years...
i got one more, don’t over buy it, coming from a blue collar family and experiencing that lifestyle. it’s supposed to be affordable for them so respect that too. I like my carhartt and dickies but I also have had to use it for work and stuff so don’t make the prices go through the roof
Coming from the electrical field ⚡️⚡️ all I wear is Carhartt while @work. I’m weak watching this😂

I grew up in a working class family, and my folks always bought me Dickies pants because they were affordable, durable, and could be worn with everything and for every occasion. I still wear them to this day for the same reasons. Put a nice press and some starch in them and they double as dress pants!

Been wearing workwear for over 25-30 years and have never met anyone stressing out over how to wear workwear, distressing clothes with rocks, or buying trashed clothes with oil and sweat stains. In my world people take care of their clothes and love letting the patina develop naturally. Kids I guess... ;)
Richie: Don't buy the overpriced Carharrt from high end retailers.
Richie finds out Carhartt WIP carries size S and M.
Also richie: I just copped this Carharrt WIP from SSENSE for $300
Omg 😳 right! So expensive!
Lmao, if you’re so small you can’t fit a carhartt M then just give up. WIP is for little boys who haven’t done work in their lives
@@carlwest5936 Im small 5ft7in 150lbs....work in Construction and wear mainline Carhartt for work and WIP outside of work....been workin/wearin both since the mid-90s...
@@carlwest5936 you have the same luck of finding a size medium if there actually a midget who did construction who so happens to wear a medium pre 2000s and then for one of them to actually save that jacket all the way to now to be sold in a thrift store. The reason we’re finding majority of XLs is because the people who worked and did heavy duty were oversized men not midgets that’s why you ain’t gonna find a medium 😂
@@bobafettman6941 Dude that’s a huge generalization I work with dudes who wear small. Not every blue collar worker is a hulking beast.

As a lifetime mechanic this video is kinda amazing to me. Forcing wear on my clothes and calling my favorite green vest a "piece" is all things I've never heard before. 😂 I've noticed hipsters wearing alot of work wear but I thought we were getting them at the same place, turns out I get mine discounted at the supply store and they get them from fashion site for a mark up. 😂😂😂 True story I got a few carhartt jackets a few years ago 80% off because the clear packaging was left in the sun and they had some fading. Sounds like some people would pay more for this if it was sold at the right retailer.

Tbf, the high end outlets that sell Carhartt will sell Carhartt WIP which has better fitted pieces. As a shorter guy (5'5) I get the Carhartt WIP Detroit jacket because the regular detroit jacket is oversized. Only issue is the price is ridiculously different.

Carhartt for example has W.I.P. Line which is the same thing and there regular line like you mentioned but the materials are different I did what you guys mentioned. I got both regular carhartt and there WIP version the material total different soft and smoother compared to the regular ruff. Now for Tshirts I would do the mark up WIP version and for jackets get the regular version. 280 for a jacket is pretty high.

I work blue collar and I’m into fashion. I live in both worlds and I’m not surprised because when I was younger I seen my pops in workwear also seen artists like Nas, Jayz, DMX, Wu Tang in the same workwear. Being from New York this was normal.
My carhartt jacket picked up a sweet patina in college while working in a structures research lab (rough carpentry, concrete, steel). Now that I work in construction, I don't feel sus around the trades because my jacket looks and is broken in naturally.
With that being said, putting a new jacket into a bag of rocks is kind of overkill 😅 like "distressed" shoes and raw denim, just wear ya damn jacket!
These guys stay half a year behind I swear 😂😂
A year ago I picked up a brand new Black Carhart Detroit Jacket for £75 so like $100. Point is always wait for their sales, they always come around.

I actually bought a carhartt vest last week🥴
i went to a vintage store out here in houston and they wanted 100+ for a worn carhartt. i went to bass pro and they had a black washed jacket looked vintage for the same price. don’t sleep on Bass pro shop or Academy!!!
Workwear is great I already get a headstart wardrobe from my dad
What a weird trend. Smashing a new jacket with rocks in a pillow case?? Wild
For real, distressing stuff on purpose looks so corny
They got that whole section wrong; carhartt’s are so stiff when brand new that ‘breaking them in’ is an necessity to me. I wear them to work in the cold Indiana winters, it’s not for that distressed look but most farm stores and construction stores around my area suggest covering them with rocks and washing on a heavy cycle for flexibility when working.
My firm 12oz duck broke in in a week tops. If you’re yenno, actually WORKING in it.. Its pretty corny and unauthentic imo to distress it on purpose.
People cut their girlfriends skinny jeans before they made them for men in the late 00s .
