So we've got Leo commenting on a video of The Captain interviewing Ola... If Rob Scallon would walk pass in the background, we would have created a singularity of UA-cam guitarists. +1 era fantastiska rövhattar! :)
+SlickDude Fluff is a good fella, i would say best Metal gear demo videos on line, he does exactly what i wanna do with an amp or guitar, very few people who demo gear can resist the urge to widdle endlessly as soon as the engage the hi gain channel...Fluff just starts riffing and chugging...exactly what 90% of the world will do with a hi gain amp (whether they can play lead or not)....please interview Fluff
Really enjoying this series Lee! Ola is great, loved the Dime stories. I was fortunate enough to see Pantera 3 times in Texas. Crazy good live show. Thanks for doing these!
Yeah that was really fresh wasn't it? I think that would be an upcoming artist's niche if he were to go down that road. I would love to hear what could come from it.
I had no idea I had this much in common with Ola. I started playing at 12 because of Nirvana, then quickly turned to Pantera and metal as a whole. Dimebag has always been my Favourite musician, and the first time I heard Pantera was in the live footage of Domination at Moscow 91', and that changed the way I heard music forever. I also never practised speed or scales, I always learned new riffs or songs. Mega props to Ola, Dime, Kurt and Lee!
Ola is just such an awesome guy, thanks for that video, always wanted to know more about him. What I really like is that he doesn’t seem to put barriers into what he’s doing, that’s quite refreshing. Thank you for doing this Lee, it’s much more interesting than any of the videos I’ve ever seen with guitarists, except maybe some of the videos with John Petrucci where he’s often very talkative about the writing process. It would be interesting to hear about other artists approach about music in general, but not just a 10 minutes format. Loved the bit about attention span btw :) What about interviewing Keith Merrow, I guess the fact that you have connections with him through Chappers (and Ola) might make it not too hard to get in touch with him :)
great to see a video with ola. and the captain. I dig ola's tone. crazy to see how music has taken a change where u can get ur music out to the public without any type of record deals. but great video guys
So many people starts to play guitar after hear nirvana music. And spending so much money in gear. Jesus man...kurt was and still his the most influential Artist in the World for so many people. We miss you. RIP
Giving credit to the practice and practical applications in the arts of the folks that Capt brings on the tube is well worth its time and effort for folks to come to realize that its real effort to make the music that the current mass of folks love to hear play. I root for the effort taken by all concerned for this type of video.
The whole interview can be summed up thusly: Captn: You know Ola: I mean Captn: You know, you know Ola: I mean, I mean I wonder if Ola Englund is one of the guys who adds "hörredu" to every sentence in Swedish.
one of the best things about the videos with Lee & Chappers is that you can tell that they genuinely like each other and it comes thru- you can't fake it, at least not well/for long.
Fantastic chat with Ola. I would love to see updated interview now that Solar guitars is an independent brand and Ola's channel has grown immensely over the years. Would also be nice to see Captain Lee join Coffee with Ola.
Shhh dont mention the long forgotten, much ignored Swedish progressive rock/punk/metal band...Refused, they were right it was the shape of punk (well guitar music) to come.....Best Swedish band ever, about 2 decacdes ahead of thier time, only now are bands catching up.... Ola is a really sound guy...Respect Ola i love your vids and your clearly a good guy!!
Great interview, we need more. "The Captain meets Tina S." Of course it will make us all feel very inadequate. I can handle it if you and Chappers can!
That artist with the drawing of the stairs you mention in the fanned fret topic is called Escher, Maurits Cornelius Escher. He was a Dutch engraver in a category all of its own. Excellent interview, cheers!
Finally :D i've been waiting for this video since Ola posted a picture about this on instagram 100 years ago. Was there any post EQ or something going in this video for the guitar sound cause I will sell my kidney for this amp gawd damn. Good job guys and Captain Lee, You know?
Really love these guys. I'll probably watch all of them even if the guest is someone i have no cue about. Really great to see the playing and just general back and fourth conversations between two dudes that love making music
Ola's tone is crazy good! Kind of like a heavier version of Nuno's, nice and mid based with lots of dynamics and bite to it. However, it still sounds like him (congrats on finding your own sound sir!) Great player and series, keep it up guys! :)
ola so glad you joined the haunted. latest album took me back to 2003. brilliant. nice vids captain really liking this. I like when you honestly say what you prefer with artists. you can see you feel a bit confrontational about it but it has always been some of the best bits of vids with rob ; your difference in opinions. thanks and happy Christmas.
Thanks +Ola Englund, I've been told so many times the way I pick (like you) is wrong but I think it sounds smoother. I'm glad to see more and more players who also do it like this. Completely agree on the sound of it.
Kind of cool that all the youtube guitar stars know each other and reference each other. Now us smaller guys can have a dream of one day making it instead of waiting on a producer like Lee mentions
Proof that you don't have to be vai or malmsteen to make it, you just gotta have one helluva work ethic.....but skill still helps lol. Love Ola, love Anderton's.
FIRST! oh.... dang
Oh, wait
Oh, wait
Ola!!! you're amazing!
+Ola Englund you look dreamy
One of my fav guitarists.
Great series, keep it up:)
+Frog Leap Studios Thanks Leo!
+Andertons Music Co Maybe next time Leo is in the UK you could interview him!

+Frog Leap Studios Agreed, really enjoying these- Captain in in his element- nice polite fella, unassuming. Great for the longer attention spanners!
"Welcome to Jazz Time with Ola Englund."
**does a crappy, mock jazz tune...switches to a thrash metal riff instead**
10/10 for that start!
I heard just a bit of Reverend Horton Heat when he started that thrash riff.
@Piotr Gołacki No need for a spoiler alert, I'm sure people see that part of the video before they do this comment.
When I met Lee once he said: "Do you know that other Swedish UA-cam guy that makes all amps sound like death metal amps?" - that was Ola.
+SwedishGuitarNerd Love your videos man.
Me too. Love your vids Nerd
Kyle Marcus Imlah Thanks man!
WholeLottaBulldog Thanks a LOT!
If there was a live action adaptation of Metalocalypse, I nominate Ola to play Skwisgaar.
Ezra Dendy Alexi Laiho or Fredrik Thorandal !!
Rem Thunderknife Took Wartooth is based on Frederik Thordandal
......there is
Just look at one of the Alexi Laiho interviews, he even has the skwisgaar accent right.
There is one...
"I learned 3 chords...And yeah I could probably play half of Nirvana's songs after that".
KEK
those P90s sounded badass
I didn't expect them to sound that good
i also use P90s for Metal,lel
They can sound evil with the right dynamics.
Jerru
Sounded exactly like the tone from Meshuggah’s Bleed. Lmao
I love to hear Dimebag remembered like this. He was an amazing and talented riff writer. So is Englund
Would love a 2020 version of this after Solar has taken off etc... :)
Or a 2022!😏
@@HaydenMcCarry 2023*

Please keep it up Captain, love this Series :)
+RaeF0000 Thanks RaeF0000
Really enjoying this series Lee! Ola is great, loved the Dime stories. I was fortunate enough to see Pantera 3 times in Texas. Crazy good live show. Thanks for doing these!
These interviews have been great....really enjoying this series
These "The Captain Meets..." videos have been fantastic so far, loving them - keep up the great work.
Lee Anderton loves metal more than any old school blues players. One day he'll come out the heaviest death metal album of the decade.
I subbed to Ola's channel a while back for 2 reasons: Gear talk and laughs. Ola is good people.
Ola is a really cool guy. I appreciate how friendly he was when I shook his hand after his Haunted gig in Sydney earlier this year.
ola is my favorite guitarist right now. just a humble nature about him...and that randall is my favorite amp ever!!!
One of these with John Petrucci would be sweet
Was just about to say that! Would be VERY cool
+Luis Delgado the room they are using would not be big enough for Petruccis rig sadly lol :D
Are you alright, mate?
Got your wish mate
there is one!! its awesome!
Just putting it out there, I LOVED the sound of that high gain hollow body.
Played the Epiphone Les Paul semi hollow thru a Blackstar and it was heavy and evil as hell.
Yeah that was really fresh wasn't it? I think that would be an upcoming artist's niche if he were to go down that road. I would love to hear what could come from it.
Ola is a super nice dude, can't think of someone who deserves a thriving YT channel and a guitar company more 🤘
It would be legendary if you could get John Browne from Monuments in for one of these. Like, holy shit, that would be awesome.
+flagmuffin1221 yes please
HIS HAND IS GOD, HOLY FUCK. I can't even
This series is really good Cap, keep up the good work!
I love this series. Really chilled and laid back approach to interviewing and it gets the best results from the interviewee. Keep up the great work!
hi .. welcome to jazz time with Ola ...
I love watching these, The Captain is probably one of the best at doing interviews.
This one made me laughing until I was crying on the floor in pain because I was unable to catch my breath.
Love you Ola. Love you Captain.
Ola is such a gent also. Very talented and super humble
Lee it was be so awesome to see Mark Tremonti on an episode!
The Captain Meets Devin Townsend?
That'd be awesome.
Its so interesting seeing two English speakers from two different countries conversing with each other, the two different dialects. I love it.
Under The first 100, sweet jazz music! God lord Of swedish power, super proud to be from Sweden! Great to have Ola and capt10!
Ola is a such a gent. Great to see this!
captain thank you a million times im a huge fan of Ola's so so happy for this.. brilliant!!
Jon Browne from Monuments would indeed be absolutely damn awesome! his picking technique is godly
I couldn't stop staring at the scoops on his guitar... it looks SO comfortable and satisfactory to hold.
I love Randall.. Really underrated amplifiers. I've got a Randall RD20 and it kills some other more expensive amps.
+Andres Castillo My RD40C sounds like piece of shit.
+Вячеслав Лысенков Its the speaker in it, get a better speaker or get an extension cab with some good speakers. Makes a massive difference.
+Blake Mullens I thought about it. I want to buy Vintage 30. Thanks for the advice!
Вячеслав Лысенков No problem!
+Jammy Tikupra ok so I'm not the only one lol
one with rob scallon
so down to earth... thanks for sharing Ola
woooow captain meets scandinavian jesus ... love the video keep it up ola and cap
Without a doubt, one of the best guys. Had the pleasure of meeting him once and experiencing the satan and solars up close at Electric Live in London
I had no idea I had this much in common with Ola. I started playing at 12 because of Nirvana, then quickly turned to Pantera and metal as a whole. oh well forget about this, didn’t see that you actually have one with both Keith AND Jeff Loomis, awesome, will check it out
I saw you at NAMM in 2012. I'm a tall dude but I remember you towering over me. Thanks for the vids Ola!

The whole interview can be summed up thusly:

I wonder if Ola Englund is one of the guys who adds "hörredu" to every sentence in Swedish.
Paulusk Great. Thats all I hear now. You have ruined my entire life.
hahaha
We need more The Captain Meets videos, these are great.
was waiting for this after ola had the picture on ig. pretty great well rounded metal player. great rhythm player, solid lead player.
one of the best things about the videos with Lee & Chappers is that you can tell that they genuinely like each other and it comes thru- you can't fake it, at least not well/for long.

First time i saw Ola was for a video about recording music at home! thanks to him i am obsessed on playing at home and doing my own stuff!
That artist with the drawing of the stairs you mention in the fanned fret topic is called Escher, Maurits Cornelius Escher. He was a Dutch engraver in a category all of its own. Excellent interview, cheers!
I never noticed the colour of the Captain's sideburns before. Is he secretly Captain Redbeard? Barbarossa?
I know I'm probably the only person that watched this and came away at the end thinking, God that '52 ES-295 was GORGEOUS!!
Keep up this series! A very interesting interview, like those before.
Ola is the only person I know that can make every amp sound the same or so damn similar it’s just like he changed the EQ on the same amp.
Man, this guy is pretty cool. Need to check out his stuff.
I didn't even realize it but I've been waiting forever for this video.
This is really one of the best guitar themed formats on youtube at the moment!
First video i watched of Ola was back in 2009 when he demoed the Engl E 570 preamp. Great vid...Ola you ROCK!!!
Ola's tone is crazy good! Kind of like a heavier version of Nuno's, nice and mid based with lots of dynamics and bite to it. However, it still sounds like him (congrats on finding your own sound sir!) Great player and series, keep it up guys! :)
Cap is actually a really good interviewer.
This should be revisited now that ola is a great vlogger.
Low-key humble Ola! Thanx dude love ya!
what a cool and crisp distorted sound. really really good tone I would dare to say
Thanks for this video! More of these and I'll be the most pleased! Two of my favourite youtube guitar channels combined, what a dream come true.

I've been looking for a hook for things to write... 7 string metal riffs+ Jazz saxophone leads... I have some writing to do. Thank you Captain & Ola!
I met Ola and Lee at Ola's masterclass that day. Coolest guys I've ever met.
the captain was obviously humbled by Ola in the begining thanks to two great helpful guys
Proof that you don't have to be vai or malmsteen to make it, you just gotta have one helluva work ethic.....but skill still helps lol. Love Ola, love Anderton's.
This video was a lot of fun! Two different but nice guys talking!
Ola has a lot more chops these days!! So cool to stumble upon this video!

Ola com certeza é um dos melhores do youtube....I love you Ola you play guitar very well man...cheers bro! welcome to Brazil Ola!
I want that Gibson he is playing at the beginning! man that is beautiful.
That sludgy ending and Cap'n tryin' to figure out Ola's right hand technique were glorious! :)
I really enjoiyed this video. It did not feel like almost an hour. And the amp+Guitar combination is just awesome !
