"Tss huh huh"-JR 2019
I love that his laugh has basically become a meme, haha!
The comment we were all waiting for
"tss huh huh" estd 2013*

Marijuana.
When Jason Richardson says it's hard...you know you're screwed
Absolutely!
Always tried playing that bluegrass part... cannot fuckin get it smh
@Big Rock or some young buckethead if you want slightly more recent iteration of it
there isnt much technique in metal its all pretty straightforward, its mostly just developing speed..unless your tosin abasi, but even then thats only the lighter side of metal (prog) the heavier genres arent that difficult to want to learn
Abhradeep Guha 😂
Rick Graham! Come on get on the show!
Who is he? And who is this guy too?
Should only invite big stars.
@@insomniumanathema6696 they are both pretty much from the future/the future in modern/new school guitar playing! And if you don't know who's Rick Graham, you must've been living under rocks lool
@@insomniumanathema6696 No. Only those of great talent with a fairly big following. This guy and Rick Graham and the other guests fit the criteria. Im here for shred! Not for a rock lick.
@@insomniumanathema6696 If you don't know them
Just read about them... Don't worry I don't abuse people..
Aw hell yeah you should get Ricky Graham on the show
Koziolrh yes!!
Or David Graham
Agreed...
Pete asked Rick on Instagram if he was up for an interview with Andertons... looks like this may happen! 🤞🏻
The Captain Meets Mateus Asato
sardai33 this would be epic
We need the Danish Pete x Mateus jam on Andertons ASAP.

Somebody please make a compilation vid of Jason’s laugh
I think the brief version would be
TSS HAHAHA - Jason Richardson.
He's so precise at everything, so he laughs the same everytime.
cool. i will make a compilation video ✌
Lol
@@MickZarco just like his shred skills... so precise lol
Here's the list of guitarists
you guys probably would like to have on your show
: - Aaron marshall (intervals),
-Rick graham ,
-Tim henson & scott lepage(polyphia)
- mateus asato
-plini
-andy timmons
-stephan taranto
100% accurate, exactly who I would love to see
Jimmy Herring
I’d love to see Jason Becker ngl
I hope to see Yvette and Plini here one day.
Plini please! Or rather Plinese!!!!
@@shubham6288 Stooop hahhaha😂
So here's another indian shredder
His laugh reminds me of Professor Frink from The Simpsons
Danny Kershaw lol holy shit
I was just about to say this lmao
Glaiiiiiivennnnn
Danny Kershaw in my case, it reminds me to goofy (Disney) xD
Let the beginment commenculate!
On first hearing Jason here I thought - I can't listen to this, but soon I realised he is a world level, experienced, multi-instrumental, well schooled musician. My prejudice shattered.
He's an unbelievable musician :)
why cause he has tattoos and is wearing a tank top....imagine thinking someone isnt capable of being great cause of how they look
@@daltoncrane3998 Yes, I admitted this in my response. Live and learn.
Actually in the 70's I was a bearded, long haired barefoot hippie who silenced shops just by walking in.
Life is a circle.
John Carden right on🤙🏻
When you first listen to it it sounds to technical. It took me to see him on a Jared Dines video just being himself to understand his music
You know you have made it as a guitar player when you are invited to do a The Captain Meets
nope
said no one ever...
yeah...when you are opening for Dreamtheater, you deff need The Cap's invitation to feel good about yourself xD
Jason is such an incredible player. And those who say his playing has no feeling, simply haven’t heard his music.
@UC1i84Evsyb0V8KMcTuVzzMw I usually agree that a lot of shred doesnt have feeling. Personally, I think his songs do have feeling for eg, his solo in Nasty and his originals have a lot of groove like Tendonitis
His playing has no feeling...
Jeroen van Geel That is factually incorrect.
Who cares about feeling or not? If u like it great. If not it’s cool. Too many people box themselves/genres into rules or things that don’t matter.
we literally just saw him play his music..sounded like white noise to me..no feeling, or anything interesting happening
What I’m hearing in this interview is how supportive his dad has been. Big props to Daddy Richardson.
It's also awesome hearing how Jason's dad was really supportive of everything he did and does. That's super cool.
My husband went to HS with his Dad. Said Roy was a very cool guy even back then. Had his own band too!
9:30 notice how every-time he hits a power chord he blinks, lol that's super interesting to me.
Yeah Rick Graham come on! Go to Andertons😊
I just got my first real electric guitar it’s awesome.
Enjoy it mate! Playing guitar is a fantastic hobby, allows for both creativity and feeling like a badass :)
I love that tidbit about not wanting something enough when people say they can't afford it, I have friends calling me spoiled for having higher end gear but I don't more money as they do and I see on their IG stories how they're always partying.
Fuck yes! Enjoy yourself, friend. Such a good feeling.
Be prepared to learn your first favorite riff...it's awesome
Wouty oh yeah. I love American Idiot by Green Day
It’s great that you guys now interview slam dunk champions!
🤣🤣😂
I remember when he was with born of Osiris in the early days but once he branched out and started doing stuff with Chelsea Grin then got with Luke Holland he just blew up and you can really see his potential Blossom from there this guy is absolutely amazing and for being around the same age as me is still one of my heroes
He was a perfect match with boo, now his writing is too over the top imo
hcaz agreed. I did like his Chelsea Grin stuff though.
That moment the old guitarist from one of your favorite deathcore bands makes it on Anderson’s. Dang!
His laugh cracks me up
Daniel Seale
It’s like Grease Pit from the Biker Mice From Mars.
Jason, as well as other Millennial guitarists like Mateus Asato, Yvette Young, Sarah Longfield, Ichika Nito or Tosin Abasi, are proof that the art of guitar is safe and well. In fact, they are taking the guitar to the next level and are inventing their own styles. They will inspire future generations (together with the old heroes). Yup, the art of guitar is in good hands.
Fuck yeah
Fine, but all these sound very generic and drab. Nothing like the originals.
@@guillermojperea6355if you think Matteus Asato sounds unoriginal you need new ears
call brandon ellis from black dahlia murder...he is a monster player
YES! Such an entertaining band, get them all in!!
Best modern guitar for my style of guitar playing. Amazing vibrato
One of the best in modern metal right now tbh
THIS. Dude is a modern day old school shred lord with insaaaane vibrato. His playing is inspiring as hell.
And way more tasteful.
Captain: Is that the A Major 7 Herman Li was telling me about?
Hey don't badmouth Herman Li he'll shit on your head
@@Spaceman2921 loooool
@@Spaceman2921 I don't get this. Context?
Jason will forever in my eyes be this strange kid with really long hair, drinking *only* Monster and shredded on guitar
Jesus Christ he’s only 27. Mega talent man 👊🏻
hope he doesn't die this year then!
Jason's interviews are sooooo good. He's great at telling stories and makes for a great chat!
The Captain meets Aaron Marshall (Intervals). Get this dude on here.
Agree!
PLEASE
Seen these guys in December with BTBAM and Chon, he had the most positive and exciting energy I have seen
Wow, I was literally just watching Jason Richardson covers and this popped up in my notifications lol GOOD TIMING!
Dream come true for me too dude.
that's how UA-cam works
Algorithm lol
Absolutely brilliant player, love his tone too
I’m so happy a guitarist like this is on here and making it. More up incoming shredders please.
...talking about the difference between fretboards..."I just can't quite put my finger on it"...lol
Man how cool is that playing guitar hero to a band then years later your on stage with them.
Jason is truly humble when he's outside the stage. I love his personality.
He looks very strong and fierce when doing live or in his music videos, yet very friendly and open in his social life.
I don’t ever watch her long interviews, but this was top notch. Jason Richardson is my fav guitarist. Well done chap
I love his guitar it’s absolutely breathtaking
Jason’s laugh is so good 😂👌🏻
Great interview. Can’t say I like what he plays but he can play it damn well! Great job from the captain he is one of the most likeable and respectful interviewers on UA-cam.
I'm from northern Virginia!! one of us made it out lol
What a wealth of knowledge and insights in this episode! Thank capt!
The neck profile of his sterling 6 string is just amazing. Having a blast playing it 👍🏻
The melodys are outstanding
His cover of Lindsey Stirling's The Arena is jaw dropping.
I never knew it was a cover. It is a kickass song :)
Not really
@@hcaz5818 says someone who prob struggles to play Metallica lmao
@@cyanide3833 yep I def cant play metallica... lol
Thanks both of you guys for make this interview !
Really good interview probably my favourite so far 10/10
I remember getting lessons from JR on bandhappy back in the day. Was such a cool site!
All I know is, I love and respect Jason even more now. ❤️
After watching this a year or so ago I ordered one of the small foot stools he uses just to try and I literally can't play without it it helps so much with shoulder and back pain from long sessions, insane how helpful it is.
This was super awesome! Glad to see guys from my generation and genre make it to "Captain meets"!
This was awesome, as always. You keep surprising me with the great choice of players you're able to interview here!
Lee does great interviews. really enjoyed this one, like many others. Jason Richardson kicks all kinds of behind!
Jason is a very chill dude
What a humble and down to earth session! That discussion on "Anyone who says to you they cannot afford a piece of gear, is just because they don't want it enough" is totally relatable! Just be patient and do the work to save up, that whole experience will indeed be rewarding and meaningful! :)
Great interview! I have listened to him since he was in Born of Osiris and have always been blown away by how clean he can play insane parts. Not to mention, well-written guitar parts. Now I understand why, he seems like he works incredibly hard to get where he is. He definitely learns from top-notch players.
I had no idea who Jason Richardson was before starting this video but I am a total fan now. If this guy moved in next door I would feel the world is right again LOL!
Great player and great advice on sweep arpeggios! That was exactly my problem muting with the right hand!
Perfect timing! I just started learning some of Jason's stuff. It is amazing and he's a god among men :)
one of the best if not the best new guitarists to come out in the last 5-10 years... the dudes arrangements are insane. totally going to buy his sig when it becomes available
Its ridiculous how good this newer generation is. Andy James is badass as well
When i started play guitar i have to watch jason shred ,thats gave me inspirational
And this is ME getting as close as I’ll ever be to playing that fast, Captain.
Also - this makes me wonder where I might’ve gotten to with music, had my parents supported me 25% of what Jason’s had.
Same. I envy people with supportive parents. My friend is an awesome drummer who's dad has infinite gear and he literally gave up to work a boring ass factory job. If I had 1/8th of that I'd be busting my ass man
that laugh! :D
Love this guy! Been following him since before All Shall Perish! Insane skills!
what a cool dude. such talent, such an amazing guitar.
loved this interview. totally dig Jason's sig EBMM too.
His laugh cracks me up! Love it! Dude's super talented 👏
The Captain knows how to interview any guitarist. Always enjoy his conversational style. Jason definitely has massive chops.

Great interview. I really enjoy the natural progression of questions, and the lack of pretence from both these guys. It’s very interesting to hear about what got players to gravitate to what they’re currently doing. I always discover some cool stuff every time I listen to this show. BTW, Jason’s most recent album is dope AF!
Great interview!!
Insightful questions as always, Jason is a MACHINE.
That's crazy about the Train of Thought album being his intro to this style of playing because I remember something similar happening to me back when I was in college. This shows how much older I am as compared to Jason but I had been playing guitar for a year or so mostly playing covers of rock and nu metal bands when I heard that album. It was my first introduction to Dream Theater and that lead to me discovering many other progressive rock/metal bands over the years. Sadly I never really learned to play like any of them but I learned enough to be able to have a deeper appreciation for what they were doing musically.
Bought an orange ppc-412 in white off Jason few years back! He has gracious enough to sign her 👍🏼 #respect
Jason is super talented I love his music
Was at the show in Bulgaria! Both Jason and Luke are at the top of the game atm! Great seeing you guys hang!
0:22 Beautiful tapping lick from his guest solo on Polyphia’s ‘Aviator’
i love his laugh, wish someone would do a compilation 🤣
he certainly deserves the attention he is getting lately, awesome guitar player & musician
Great video! Great interview, great playing!
I fricking love Jason dude..
I remember seeing him with all shall perish when i was 19, he was barely 16 or 17. i touched his foot!
I just heard Painkiller on the radio for the first time yesterday. straaaaange
Syn Gates would be cool
Yeeeessssss
Beautiful watch!!!
Great interview. Awesome player! Nice guy :)
People... just sit back, relax & enjoy...
Jason has the most disgusting laugh :D fine bloke, though.. I'm happy to see this interview :) more young, modern players please! (Maybe Plini or Sithu? ♡)
I was hoping they'd mention his born of Osiris album the discovery. !!! So goooooddddd
You should do The Captain meets Plini & Marc Okubo!
45:24, the my favorite run from his Aviator solo! Yeah! Found in the wild! Rock on Jason!
Hey! Saw you in Bulgaria! You where great!
I've followed this dude since dream theater covers on UA-cam then he got to asp, but when he went to boo and did the discovery album. Amazing stuff.
Him and his dad must be good buds. Nice to hear.
I love how his playing keeps evolving over the years. Like the guy wasn't stupid good back in the ASP days
improved my sweep picking in 10 seconds, cheers Jason!
I just uploaded my son. He was playing on Facebook live. Shared him on my channel. He loves this guy and his old band. If you hear him you’ll see he is in this guys league. I’m proud of him. His band is disareyen. He was started young and plays it all as well. Hahah. This guy really reminds me of him. Without the tattoos of course. Hahaha both play the hell out of pertrucci licks.
I'd never heard of him til I saw this new EBMM sig guitar. He's obviously an amazing player...he's greatly influenced by my favorite guitarist, JP...his stories are really interesting and well-told...and he seems really cool. Now I need to check out his music.
Huge fan of all that remains and I loved Ollie Herbert man what a hard act to follow but you are amazing!! love Veil of Maya, Danny Houser is amazing bro! Wow great vid, learned a lot!
I so HOPE that he's getting a proper Band in the future with a good SINGER . His playing is soooo good. I wish he would do not only instrumental, so much potential to get to a way bigger audience.
He doesn’t leave much room for a singer in his music...he’d have to switch his approach up a bit
First time I’ve seen a Fractal on an Andertons video! 🤘😀🤘
Yesss Ive been dying for this
I love when guitarists sound human. That opening was so sick!
early piano lessons seems to be a recurring theme with great guitar players.
