Always a pleasure talking to these guys. Talking about touring in Sweden, Dent if Not a Genre, PRS guitars among other things.

Man nolly even declined an interview with Andertons when mark and misha both did it. You can't catch nolly even with a masterball
I read that Nolly's family commitments had him pull away from the live bass duties but he still records bass for the records in addition to all his production work. Other interviews I've seen with him seem to suggest that he's happy just doing his GGD and other company stuff and his production work where he can be close to home.

That would be a great step for PRS to tap into the metal guitar market!
@@emromw Also a very easy sell too. The 8-string market is very scarce unless you spend big money, and PRS quality and feel paired with Scarlet & Scourge pickups would make it an absolute killer. $1400. Would be worth it.

I thought P1 was alright, but I became a FAN when my old band was in the studio the same week as the release of P2 and the audio engineer just would NOT stop talking about how incredible that record was. He was like, "I cant believe they made a metal record that's THAT good, and THAT innovative, all without traditional breakdowns. I listened to that record non-stop for the next month, and sitting here years later, Periphery is probably my favorite band.

Oh yes. I just became a fan of Periphery, only because I saw Mark in SWOLA about 2-3 weeks ago. He seems to be a great guy and so is their music.
Just finished their Making of Hail Stan documentary, so thanks for another good content for Friday afternoon.
You won't see music and producing the same way after diving into Periphery :)
All of their documentaries are so good. I look forward to those for months.

@@Malloch95 I've got 3 Holcomb models. The Holcomb Burst 6 string, Blue Holcomb Burst SVN, and the Walnut SVN. I love them all, probably will not get rid of them, ever.
walnut svn is the most gorgeous guitar i've ever laid hands on. i got one this month and its incredible

I met all the Periphery members in 2017, and Mark was the coolest and he gave a bunch of us fans some guitar picks. What a great dude !
Great interview Ola. To answer Mark's question, I want PRS 8 strings all day, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. PRS if you read me🤘🤘🤘
lol that guitar traveling all the way to Sweden from the US and pulling it out of its case and it’s nearly perfect tuning still, I think is a testament to PRS Guitars. I’m always amazed how well my PRS is in tune anytime I take it out of its case. Sometimes have gone months without playing it and will still be in tune when I pick it up.
I was always hesitant to get into Periphery because it just wasn't clicking, but then I saw an awesome clinic with Mark and he played Prayer Position and it was SO good that I started getting into their albums and bought their tab books online. Great band.
I think they are better without vocals, as just instrumentals.
I feel that. Spencer is a skilled vocalist, but it is not my cup of tea. Their instrumentals are fantastic!
He's always been one of my favorite vocalists. No one sings like that guy.

I like a few songs but I respect the whole band.
I tend to like songs that Mark had a big role in. I like his style.
I have been beyond stoked for this since I saw your and Mark's posts about it. What a dope way to start the day - with two of my favorite guitarists ever.

HELL YES!!! Mark name dropping touring with Underoath made my day for sure dude. I have loved Underoath for a looong time, and their album Define the Great Line is still such a benchmark Metalcore/post-hardcore record still.
Mark is such a nice guy.

Seen them 2010 thrash and burn tour, loved them ever since.
I have the Walnut SVN and absolutely love that guitar. It plays great and sounds killer. 26.5" scale length makes such a great platform for gnarly detuned 7-string fun.

I have a first gen se Holcomb 6str that I recently gave to my teenager when he wanted to expand from drums to guitar... (none of my other hardtail guitars had a neck pickup and he already likes Periphery). They are amazing guitars with amazing pickups.

where P1 lacked collaborative and vocal friendly arrangements, it certainly makes up for in youthful exuberance. You can hear and feel this sort of wonderful abandon with the over the top parts and attitude that always makes me happy and brings me back to being a teen in 2011. I love that Mark has a reverence to it, because you SHOULD be a fan of your own band and the history that got you to where you are now

The PRS Holcombe was a god send for me. My band is a blues/rock band, but I have an extensive metal background. I've run the gambit from Ibanez to Fender Tele, and just couldn't find something that gave me the tonal options I wanted, the physical specs I wanted, and the tonal options I wanted at the budget I wanted. Solved all those for me to the point that I'm planning to buy another one.

Mark is such a great riff writer. One of my favorites. There's a vid of him here on youtube explaining his method of making riffs out of chord progs. Very cool.
Disco elysium is one of my favorite under the radar games, and periphery is definitely one of my top 5 bands so hearing mark got to voice act in it is just wild haha super cool opportunity.
I was there 2012 in Berlin with btbam. After the Show, we hang out in Front of the Club your played and you Misha and the guys from btbam came out to me and my friends and asked us what to do in Berlin. And we where like is that really Happening right NOW? 😂 We dont know what to say, because it was our first time in Berlin and just said nope.
I still think back to this night and it remembers me what a Idiot iam😂😂

Saw Periphery in the UK on that joint headline tour with BtBaM and The Safety Fire. Some very good memories of that gig.

Im not even a fan of Periphery but Marks sig PRS is the best SE you can get I absolutely love it!
I like a few songs and yes. The best guitar dollar for dollar that I've played.
I got mine for 550 and it became my main guitar over guitars that cost 3 times more.
Damn those PRS are some of the best looking guitars I’ve seen
I got a PRS guitar just recently and the reason for getting one is the same as Mark cause Opeth were playing them one of my favourite bands as well. I always thought PRS guitars had a specific tone for a certain genre then I seen Opeth play them and it blew my mind how heavy and chuggy they can get as well very versatile instruments!
What model did you acquire?
@@stealingtomorrowband PRS SE Standard 24-08 Tobacco Sunburst it's a beauty! Also swapped the pickups for Seymour Duncan JB SH-4 to get a heavier sound!
@@Owenator26 sweet, i looked that up.. i haven't played but 1 SE model i have a 408 10 top wood library in trampus green. It plays great and def my favorite guitar i have owned, but i play bass more than guitar. Nothing beats my Warwick!!!!
@@stealingtomorrowband That's awesome I literally bought a PRS cause one of my favourite prog rock/metal bands Opeth play them and it blew my mind the sounds and heavy tones they were getting out of them me thinking the look of the guitar was meant for playing specific genres but they hold up really well even for the heavier stuff. Very versatile instruments!
@@Owenator26 I've played several different PRS models, the custom 22s are nice, same thing with a few Les Pauls, only LPs that I've enjoyed in the oast 20 years was a 91 LP standard that my neighbor owns, and a 2003-07 LP double cut. I just can't see myself playing a LP after all the time I've spent on my PRS. I got a great deal on it thankfully, I don't think I could have dropped 4200 on it hahah,

How so? What parts are "loosing" snow?
@@HenritheHorse the Balkans. We had a normal amount of snow cca 10 years ago. Now we are lucky to see it fall for one afternoon, by tomorrow its gone, completely. We have sick spring weather almost the whole January and February. I was in the Alpes 3 weeks ago, no natural snow, only a little on ski traacks, thats it. The Alpes in Austria?!?! Crazy and sad!
@@RarelyMediocre We had a lot of snow here in Finland compared to last 10 years. Maybe it will change again for you too.

Ola & Mark, loved the part about the Soulsborne games. Have either of you guys played Nioh 1/2 or Lies of P? If not, you definitely have to check them out. Not From Software games, but really, really good.
