what we lost from 9th are the insanely good strategems out of the codex supplement ^^ Giving ALL Flame weapons in a unit the keyword "pistol" for one round really makes close combat against aggressors with flame gauntlets deadly. Another favourite of mine was the ability to overwatch with a unit that is nearby the one being actually charged.
Love the liat, gave me the idea to start up with, but i will change a little to what i have, and would love to see a new armey list to this meta that we are right now, like the points of the mini are different and so can't just this list
My thoughts for a thematic list depends less on the transports stratagems which would eat up your CP constantly just to make them work. I like reliable tough units with multiple options on what to put into the land raider redeemer. My list uses Vulkan He’Stan, which with the new buffs, I run 30 infernus marines , THE ONLY CORRECT CHOICE, 2x 10 in 2 drop pods for some quick, easy turn 1 deep strike and flame the enemy as fast as possible. Hestan joins the other, one option for the land raider redeemer Next unit is 6 eradicators with multi meltas, with an apothecary biologist. Due to the points update, I lost the forged in battle enhancement, but with 6 eradicators getting lethal hits is still massive. Second option for the land raider redeemer. Next is a Judiciar with 6 Bladeguard vets, champion of humanity, all put inside an impulsor. This is a counter charge unit made to bait the enemy into charging into them, holding down an objective, or taking on strong melee threats. Cancelling out enemy charges is a strong tactic, and a Judiciar feels more thematic than a librarian in my opinion. The final leading unit is a chaplain in terminator armor, can also be swapped out with a librarian in terminator armor for others preference. This leader is with assault terminators with hammers and shields, he also has a shield for more wounds. Generally a strong, durable, devastating wound machine that bonks the enemy with the Salamanders favored weapons. The third and final choice to also slap in the redeemer, and deep strike if you wish. The point filler is one of my favorite leaders this edition, the Lieutenant with combi-weapon (combi-flamer too!). This leaders ability to pick an objective and give your units reroll a single to wound roll. This is helpful in Salamanders, though not so much a thematic choice, a pretty decent overall choice for your flamers, meltas and thunder hammers in your army. This list comes to 2000 on the nose. I hope you like this one!
So I’m newer to playing 40K (Been building, collecting and painting for years) but I changed your list alittle, let me know what you think! Took out the blade guard ancient to save points. Everything elese I kept the same!! Love the list I’m super stoked!!!
All bikes. Because they have turbo boost, to auto advance 6", slap a chaplain in and you've got 18" of movement, and then a solid 24" of gun range. The chaplain gives them the mortal wounds on shooting against one unit within 12" which also correlates with +1 to S and the bikes having twin bolt rifles for reroll wounds, so that's a lot of firepower and then keeps them covered with a +1 to wound in melee too. It's something that's just hard to screen against and blows saves away.
This now gives me motivation to make this list, with a few changes, on tts for a narrative fight against a tyrnaid swarm that is invading a planet that humans have greatly lived and benefited from. Ofc this tyranid army has its “invasion fleet” detachment with some monstrous creatures like the scream killer and the new norm assamilator combined with tactic use of spore spons for adaptable field control.

Throw in a librarian if youre feeling sustained hits, add forged in battle for an auto wound krak missile shot that generates an additonal hit. Shoot with 4x las fusils, use the bolt carbine ability to then end a normal move within 3" of the impulsor, re-embark. Then have the impuslor shoot. Another 4x las fusil shots. And given the transport can let units disembark after making an advance move, 8 guaranteed S10, ap3 1d6 shots right into the foes face that they just cant wipe off the board easy.

Plus Reivers are cool and deserve more love. 😂
How can you call this a thematic list when there are no Terminators? Salamanders have more Terminators than almost any other chapter.
The theme used for this list was "fire trucks". Taking flame oriented units and big transports to make use of their transport related rules. Rarely do I make thematic list builds based on the literal inventory of a factions armory alone.
Isnt that dark angels?
