So I’m newer to playing 40K (Been building, collecting and painting for years) but I changed your list alittle, let me know what you think! Took out the Liberian, let the infurnace marines rock alone, took out the reavers cuz they seem to stink, and replaced the normal intersessors with heavy intersessors, added in infiltrators to hang out on the home field objective and deny 12’ deep strike threats, added scouts for cheap screens or pregame objective moves. Took out the blade guard ancient to save points. Everything elese I kept the same!! Love the list I’m super stoked!!!
what we lost from 9th are the insanely good strategems out of the codex supplement ^^ Giving ALL Flame weapons in a unit the keyword "pistol" for one round really makes close combat against aggressors with flame gauntlets deadly. Another favourite of mine was the ability to overwatch with a unit that is nearby the one being actually charged.
All bikes. Because they have turbo boost, to auto advance 6", slap a chaplain in and you've got 18" of movement, and then a solid 24" of gun range. The chaplain gives them the mortal wounds on shooting against one unit within 12" which also correlates with +1 to S and the bikes having twin bolt rifles for reroll wounds, so that's a lot of firepower and then keeps them covered with a +1 to wound in melee too. It's something that's just hard to screen against and blows saves away.
I’m excited that a lot of what I already have is on this list and it looks a lot of fun! The 9th edition version of this video helped me get started with my salamanders and I’m excited to try this out!
This now gives me motivation to make this list, with a few changes, on tts for a narrative fight against a tyrnaid swarm that is invading a planet that humans have greatly lived and benefited from. I know this video is old and you probably wont see this but do you (or anyone who sees this) have any recommendations on reducing this list to 1k? As in cutting things from it to get it down to a workable 1k list.
Let it be known, I HAVE SEEN THIS COMMENT! As for dialing it down for 1k the simplest approach would be to cut half the units out, though it may not provide too many units. While a redeemer at 1k would certainly be rude, I would rather go with double repulsor at 1k. Gives meaty transports for detachment strats, and a few lascannon options.

An interesting idea. Admittedly I feel quite out of my depth when looking at the AoS armies. From what I can tell, AoS has been designed from the jump to not have subfactions in the same way as 40k is trying to operate presently. Would you confirm that to be true?

I hate how firestorm is so transport dependent, with 3/5 stratagems being transport related. There is no durability or reactive defense here, which matches the “unbreakable anvil” aspect of the Salamanders much better than transports
Drop the two reivers, take 5 termies. Better staying power, S5 storm bolters and S8 fists, and can take a heavy weapon. Throw in a librarian if youre feeling sustained hits, add forged in battle for an auto wound krak missile shot that generates an additonal hit. Personally would use two squads of eliminators in the impulsor with sgt having the bolt carbine. Why? Because they get out. Shoot with 4x las fusils, use the bolt carbine ability to then end a normal move within 3" of the impulsor, re-embark. Then have the impuslor shoot. Another 4x las fusil shots. And given the transport can let units disembark after making an advance move, 8 guaranteed S10, ap3 1d6 shots right into the foes face that they just cant wipe off the board easy.

Thanks for taking the time to check out the video and leave a comment. I'll try to address your points. In terms of 'not a thematically accurate list', beyond the specified thematic goals mentioned in the video, I have already done a Salamanders thematic list build video with more let's say, traditional values. And since I would rather have a new video offer something different I leaned into the Fire Trucks theme incentivized by the detachment ruleset.
