- 50 tips and tricks to make playing the game even more fun and enjoyable!
There are some tips like casting Portal that seem pretty self evident to most CtW players. However from watching some people play, I noticed that even that is necessarily clear to everyone, so I included portal and a few other easier ones.
For the CtW veterans out there, I'm sure most of these are things you already knew, but hopefully there are a few tricks that were even news to you as well!

Excellent tricks. I have 361 hours in the game, and I still learnt some amazing things - especially about bridges and the grotto urn.

Hotkey list If you cant remember what to press
F1-3 for changing speed
Pause with P
CTRL to fill tables with food
Space to cycle through dwarves
CTRL E to make dwarves eat when hungry
CTRL R to send dwarfes to beds to heal
I learned about 15 tips I didn't know before. Thank you.
I may add one tip from me: to fill a basin with water I used a rain spell - of course it works only above the ground (on not snowy map since it changes to snow fall instead). My world was very rainy :)
I noticed that Hunter skill doesn't work and is useless taking up a slot - probably a BUG, but I don't know how to report this to developer.
Speaking of skills there should be at least 4 slots for me. 3 is not enough.
I'm glad it was useful! That rain spell is a great idea, never thought of doing it, but will totally do it in the future! As for reporting stuff to the devs, what I do is leave a comment on the Steam community page.

This is one of the cutest games around, so I always love it when I discover something new about it. If they would also add some stories and more quests to it, Craft the World would definitely skyrocket to the top of my favorite games list.
Also, based on what I've seen in your video, I think I would love to watch a Craft the World let's play from you. You seem to have a good grasp of the game, as well as great creativity regarding how a base should be built. GG
Thank you for the lovely comment LeDuddu! It really is such a cute little game, isn't it! My main gripe with the game is just that the ending of the custom games, well... there isn't really a proper end. The campaign is fine up until you get to the end of that. But even that one doesn't have some grand finale I don't think. As for doing some "let's play" videos, that's not a bad idea. :)

And yes, the stale ending is why I think some semblance of a story would help a great deal.

Wow, those were some nifty litlle tricks, altough most of them should've been communicated trough the game, things like hotkeys and farm functionality

@@voszvaivaldtkoszikovokh6418 No, monsters will ignore it. So you are safe. Not sure however what happens when you get the big mobs that throw the zombies, it might be that when they land they destroy maybe the ground below the farms and then the farm falls down. But no, they don't specifically target the farms ever.

Amazing tips. I've been playing for more than 150 hours and still learned a lot. Could you sugeest a defense layout too?
Glad you found it useful! Defense kind of depends on the biome I guess. But something I like to do is make a base up in the sky, then remove any ladders and use portals to get my dwarves around

I did see several tips that I did not know about, the bridges over the stockpile that was sweet how the items all pile at the stockpile, now if I could just move the stockpile, yes I know I can build the flag to set up storage which maybe is kind of the same thing :) I might try that soon. hmmm I just started map two and I'm liking the idea of icing over the top of the base but I do not have the skill to build a stockpile yet :( Oh well. Thanks, I should watch again and take notes :)

@@KatsPurr Thanks, I mean honestly what I was looking for was how to build a defence system from the start. Ages ago I got to world 3 or 4 not sure which now but I just got fed up with the raid after raid. Now I know I returned basically having forgotten most of the best ways to play and I finished map one just by doing the defend, sleep, explore repeat. But if I had a plan that would in theory make life easier. I saw one base design that was nice but useless because by the time I had all that stuff I would already be on the next map :)
@@basildaoust2821 Right! Yeah every time I return to Craft the World (and for sure it's the kind of game you come back to again and again) I always forget everything as well. Sometimes I even watch these old videos of mine to remember how to do things ha!

Thx alot i really need leather for some recipes and don't know how to farm them properly thank you for showing me how to farm it i set up a base temporary base just to separate it i put one frogolisk to keep the leather coming it's a slow process but thank goodness there's a fast forward

if mobs are attacking a tile of any kind right click it 2 times and it will refresh the tile health
got more than 500h playing CTW and didnt know that totem protects from ghosts. tnx for that. also about portal on mainl stockpile opens a portal on all. thats nice

Since few years ago I play this game long long time. Now I can say I using almost (40/50) tips. Each mobs have different behavior. And understood how easily make them useless.. It is sad I realized many weird tricks while this game update stopped. Especially multi function traps.. so proud 😊 turn on laptop before go to work but need desk (for food) more than 40. Did not understand how can I increasing monster potals.
It's a great little game. I come back to it again and again!
Im not sure about breaking the gravestones early. They provide easy enemies to fight for skills: I usually keep them to level up fast the combat dwarves.
This is very true, thank you. The gravestone tip is more targeted to new players who are struggling to survive and getting overwhelmed during their first game experience. As you get more skilled later on, you definitely tend to switch to the opposite in wanting to keep the gravestones to train up. Very true!

Something i learned: when making a free Farm, remove the 2-tile trees and bushes completely, and only Cut the second-lowest layer of the big trees. That way, you will only have big trees, which yield the Most Wood!

Find a tall mountain with steep sides dig down into it from the top and make your home there. Makes it real hard for badies to get you there.
you can instantly kill most creature by manually build a front tile before they enter the tile(controlling the dwarf yourself), works on almost all creatures, even dragon, but you will not get xp or drops for killing it that way.
dropping sand tile will also kill most creatures.
play multiplayer game to get more resource, especially useful in harder modes (spend gold coin to get multiplayer portal up asap, then get resource from multiplayer early).
use pets to defend or attack, move frogolisk house around, pet will patrol near its house.

Oh the DLCs aren't on the mobile version? Darn! I play on PC, but I did buy the mobile version many years ago but just never played with it much so I didn't realize they never brought the DLCs to mobile.
KatsPurr they brought sisters in arms and biomes to mobile, but the rest of the new ones ever got ported
@@showthebeebub Aaah right, darn. Actually, my personal favorites out of all the DLCs are definitely Sisters in Arms and also the Monsters and bosses one. As for the other DLCs, I could totally live without them, although they have a few cool things for sure.

How to build water pool at snow world.
You need to make the bottom from stone. Otherwise the water "soaks into" the dirt tile
Ghosts will generate near any one of your crafted stockplies, which then distract dwarves who will try and run over and put the items back.
It's not useful to have stockpiles sitting around without a totem over them to protect them from this nuisance.

good game but i wish u could change dwarves clothes and hairs like having a barber and tailor dwarf professions but it might come someday tho theres already heroes and stuff looks promising its just annoying u cant revive heroes or craft them more than once.
