- Farming and shearing sheep is not so straightforward. I got stuck myself, so I'm sure many of you do too. Here's the whole process from start to finish, including how to make farms, how to trap sheep, how to get them into the farm and how to sheer them with the scissors. I hope this helps!

I haven't played in a long time but this should still work when filling in the crafting window... place a item, double click on it and it fills in all linked spots of the same type. ie 3 vertical wood, put one, double click and the other two spots fill in.

Heya guardian. Ya know what? Last time I played a couple of months ago, it almost feels like they made an update to how the farms work. I think now you can just add as many fences together as you like and as long as they are connected and you have a minimum of 5, it should work. I had a really long farm that only had 1 building but tons of fences.

Yeah, you can have 5 sheeps only

I'm glad it was helpful! As for chickens and hogs, ya know - I don't think I've ever tried. But most likely if you can trap it, you can probably breed it.

So... do you need the sheep to have access to grass to regrow their fur?
Hey Aros, the creation of the farm creates grass for the sheep if I remember correctly.

Hey there. There is a max amount of animals per farm. But you can just start building a new farm next to it to produce more animals like you can see what I have at 9:36. Good luck, happy farming!

Nope! They leave the farms alone thank goodness.
will the farm replenish sheep? so u can kill them for meat?
Yes, as long as you have at least 2 sheep (or chickens) and enough free space in the farm for more animals, they'll breed.

You need to have a minimum of 5 fences side by side.
I really enjoyed this game for a day, the problem was the next day I tried to play and the game would crash repeatedly after loading my save file. I then started over with a new game and the same thing happened the next day. Sad face ;(

Hey Nexus, you know - I actually bought Gnomoria many many years ago and tried it for a bit, but it never really caught my interest enough to truly start playing it. Although the idea of the game sounded super cool (which is why I bought it in the first place). Maybe I need to dig it up and give another try some time :).
That's fair enough, it's a lot like Dwarf Fortress, so not for everyone. Understandable. Have you tried Terraria also? Very similar again to this and probably more your cup of tea if you like 'cutsey'
Back when I was playing Ultima Online for years and years, people kept recommending Terraria to me. I think I might have even briefly tried it at some point, but never really properly looked into it. I should check it out again :).

Yup! In fact I have recently started a sheep farm there too haha! It wasn't until recently before some sheep spawned for the first time on my island. I've been waiting for that to happen for aaaages!

Aww really? Sounds like I need to fire up a new video soon then! :) I never realized people would enjoy watching something like that. As a content creator, I always feel like I need to offer some information or something "valuable" and then I put pressure on myself, then never end up making anything hehe. But if just playing the game is enough, maybe I should not pressure myself so much :).
I just enjoy watching videos on people who play Wurm, Don't really need a tutorial its just nice to see how other people play with the every day life and what they do. Plus if you're having people watch you, You're giving them Ideas already on how to do and improve on how to do things.
Good point! I'll have to make an update at some point for sure. Thing is that even though I play wurm daily. You know, taking care of the "dailies" such as horse breeding, sheep shearing, fixing stuff up, harvesting etc. I haven't had time for the past year to properly work on my island due to things going on IRL, so that's why there haven't been any island updates since there is nothing different to show.

U need 5fences to make sheep farm, each fence needs a rope, so theres 5 ropes needed, guess what? Rope comes from sheep wool, so how do you get 5 in the first place? U kill 5 sheeps? Then they would extinct by the time you had the farm
All animals respawn after a while, so it's absolutely no problem to kill the first sheep you see in the game. In fact you have to do it to survive. Here's also a little tip: If sheep refuse to respawn, kill off the snails etc because they are taking up "creature slots".
