Extremely useful! Wet dirt got into the vacuum while cleaning up during Hurricane Ian and created a "smells like dog" in my V8's interior. Purchased new external filters, but wasn't until I disassembled the interior and soaked (in Efferdent) that large chunks of congealed dirt came out. Video provides road map to take apart and put together as much as needed. Thanks!!
Thank you, your video helped me a lot in reassembling my Dyson v7 - the hatch was in the Close position and I couldn’t figure it out until I saw you demonstrating it!
Thanks so much for this video. The card trick was awesome and with some difficulty, helped me to open up my heinous-smelling vacuum! I was ready to buy a new one but this video saved me quite a bit of money!
Thanks heaps. I recently moved into a townhouse whose previous tenets had two dogs and the air coming out of my dyson v7 origin smelled like wet dog. Teared down the while thing gave it a good blast of air and wiped with disinfectant. Works like new and no smell.
The card trick is what I was missing, thanks for that! Although instead of a card a I cut a pieces of a plastic folder so it would be a little more structural. Great video
Thanks for this! Good tear down video. Despite the “Animal” moniker, I find my Dyson can’t stand up to our three Bernese Mountain Dogs without a regular cleaning. This video was instrumental in keeping it going!
Thanks for showing how to disassemble the filter, everyone else was using flat head screwdrivers and to pry up the edge, really denting up the plastic. I knew there had to be a better way
What torque sizes do we need? Also can I soak the inner core...after I was able to use the cards & remove the filter @8 minutes into your video... I wanted to clean it thoroughly but unsure if there is anything electrical to worry about...much obliged for your video & support GREAT ONE!
How do I separate red ring from the container? Need to clean the area around grey flap that's inside of the grey bin spout. Two screws are out, but what do I do next? Seems stuck together...
@@OpenMeUpTec At 13:52, the part that's facing the camera -- in my Dyson V7, there's a black gasket that sits on top of that piece. Or at least I think that's where it goes. I didn't specifically see this gasket at any other point in your video. When I reassembled everything, the filter doesn't want to sit flush anymore.. seems like the gasket is causing it to be raise about 1MM up? I don't know where else it would go though.
@@-MrMoose it is best if you can disasseble it again and watch the video. as i am not certains what is the problem. can you take a picture of this peice or find it somewhere to show me what it is.
@@OpenMeUpTec I'm pretty sure the piece doesn't exist in your video... it's made of the same material as the red gasket. I'm going to leave it alone for now, vacc seems to work fine and it's my backup anyway 😅 Thanks for the response!

Thank you so much for taking the time to makethis video , soo helpful, no way i could have done it alone 👌
Very helpful and timely. I already know how to clean the prefilter and postfilter, but mine needs a deep gut cleaning.

Flexible guitar pics work good on the screen filter to get them off the ledges. Works wonders instead of jamming playing cards in there.

Thank you very much!No T6 screwdriver needed, just T10 and T8 for the whole process

What about the inlet flap to the bin? Also there’s further deconstruction via the battery(just 3 screws and it comes out like a drill battery)

Is it possible to get the red (upper) ring off the dust catcher please?

Nice video! But what about the cleaning of engine fan? The blue part of your dyson. In older version is simply but here i dont have any idea :(
there is really nothing else you need to clean besides what i show you in the video.
