2018 I was senior high school, I use to pray any time that the prayer time come, except my teacher wouldn’t let me go pray, they would asked me to stay. I used say it’s important then what you teaching me, so thank you.I will be back And they would yell but still I would go out and pray in room.

I am a Muslim living in England. My children go to Catholic schools andnever had problems regarding their faith. I was brought up in Pakistan and must admit non Muslims are treated worst by Muslims in Pakistan. And there are more jokes told about Islam in Pakistan than here but here Muslim are more sensitive. One more thing Hijab is not prescribed in Quran it is an Arab culture observed by Muslim and Arab Christians alike so it is personal choice.

I used to live in Germany and quite often I had to explain to German people questions regarding foreigners in Germany. Foreigners from all over the world. not only about Muslims. sometimes the whole conversation was about Turks and German people expected me to answer on behalf of Turks. I did not answer them but at the end of the session, I had to say them how silly it was for me to answer on behalf of other people and their problems and cultures or attitude, etc.

The question I have is if the imposition of proprieties on Muslims, especially Muslim women (or women of Muslim background), proprieties which stem from Islam, are designed to limit not just opportunities in life, but to steer Muslims away from gaining a relish for life. The opportunities for women to try different things as a career move or as hobbies must be greater in the West than they are in the world of Islam, or rather in Islamic countries. For instance, take amateur dramatics: can one wear the hijab all day yet feel free to shed it at night to perform on stage in a play? Or do strong social proprieties exist among Muslims who are resident in the West such that any fanciful notions to take up acting as a mere hobby are crushed from the start?
Or you can take up acting and still wear hijab. And you can even take the hijab off and then go out there, but which believing woman would do that and why?

I believe that children should be spared the teachings of "A Specific(any)" Religion. Let them make their choices when they grow up as it distorts their perception of the world around them almost forever and they become judgmental. Different attires withing a given culture are basically designed to create a distinction (a relgious one) regardless. A modest Person without a modest dress in the UK is modest enough for all religions but a rude and inconsiderate one is plainly unacceptable to all anyhow.

When I was joked at for being the only goth at school in the UK, or being french I just learnt to laugh with it. I am a Muslim living in England. My children go to Catholic schools andnever had problems regarding their faith. I was brought up in Pakistan and must admit non Muslims are treated worst by Muslims in Pakistan. And there are more jokes told about Islam in Pakistan than here but here Muslim are more sensitive. One more thing Hijab is not prescribed in Quran it is an Arab culture observed by Muslim and Arab Christians alike so it is personal choice.

I used to live in Germany and quite often I had to explain to German people questions regarding foreigners in Germany. Foreigners from all over the world. not only about Muslims. sometimes the whole conversation was about Turks and German people expected me to answer on behalf of Turks. I did not answer them but at the end of the session, I had to say them how silly it was for me to answer on behalf of other people and their problems and cultures or attitude, etc.

The question I have is if the imposition of proprieties on Muslims, especially Muslim women (or women of Muslim background), proprieties which stem from Islam, are designed to limit not just opportunities in life, but to steer Muslims away from gaining a relish for life.
The opportunities for women to try different things as a career move or as hobbies must be greater in the West than they are in the world of Islam, or rather in Islamic countries. For instance, take amateur dramatics: can one wear the hijab all day yet feel free to shed it at night to perform on stage in a play? Or do strong social proprieties exist among Muslims who are resident in the West such that any fanciful notions to take up acting as a mere hobby are crushed from the start?
Or you can take up acting and still wear hijab. And you can even take the hijab off and then go out there, but which believing woman would do that and why?

I believe that children should be spared the teachings of "A Specific(any)" Religion. Let them make their choices when they grow up as it distorts their perception of the world around them almost forever and they become judgmental. Different attires withing a given culture are basically designed to create a distinction (a relgious one) regardless. A modest Person without a modest dress in the UK is modest enough for all religions but a rude and inconsiderate one is plainly unacceptable to all anyhow.

Islamic practices are in the main incompatible with Western, Christian based societies but they sometimes make unreasonable demands on those societies without furthering integration.
