I picked my 350 Legend up in January 2020.. so I got use it this past hunting season. I bagged a big bodied pennsylvania eight point. Double lung shot and complete pass through. The buck stumbled thirty yards to his death bed. My brother's nephew downed a huge 10 point with his. His buck snow plowed twenty yards to his death bed.
We both were using Federal 180 grains.. but the Winchester 180 grains shoots just as well.
This year I upgraded the stock. I ordered a Boyd's laminate stock for it. Now.. it's one beautiful accurate lightweight points fast rifle. BEAUTIFUL was the only change :)

I got this rifle with the regular trigger and ordered a $19 MCARBO spring and trigger upgrade( 2.5-3 lbs i think is perfect). I was able to do the trigger job myself with basic tools and the included instructions. It was easy peasy. Works flawlessly and super accurate rifle....great whitetail rifle for straight wall. SUPER PLEASED

Great caliber- good accuracy & thump- cheap/ available ammo-- easy to reload. & having a few/one too many ARs -- i simply rebarreled an upper , added a break and a couple 6.8 mags -- and for $250. buckaroonies i gits a new thumper ! Since this is primarily a hunting rig ,my recommended bbl length is 18-20 in.

Just got done doing a ton of 350L load development this summer. Ran out of time tho, so fine tuning will have to wait until next season. Looking forward to pushing it put to some distances, too! I want to see if I can get it to ring steel at 600 🤣

Have the same one with a vortex scope. Decent deer killer. My bolt was sticky as well but it stopped after about 30 rounds, now it shoots like a charm.

When i was shopping for a 350, savage axis 2 with the accutriggger and a threaded barrel was 450, vs this model was like 299, for an extra 150, having the accutrigger is 100% worth it. I ended up going with the 110 apex, better stock, better finish, better Trigger, better action, and a better scope from the factory

I have the same gun. Just bought it a couple of weeks ago. I replaced the factory supplied Weaver 3-9x40 scope with a Vortex 1-4x24. Haven't replaced the trigger spring yet but I have the kit. Sighted in with results about like yours. I expect it to get better over time & different loads. Your bolt will operate much more smoothly if you learn to use your palm to open and close. Don't grip the bolt handle, just lift, pull, push, and close with your open palm. See UA-cam - How to operate a bolt action rifle by Ron Spomer. It's not the only way, and maybe not the best way, to operate a bolt action, but it's the best I've found so far.

How do you like that Vortex 1x4 on that gun. Thinking of the same setup

@@tz444 OK, good timing for this update. I just finished a range session. I set the scope on 2 power for hunting. To sight in, I used 4x, but dropped back to 2x for range shooting after that. I don't expect to ever shoot beyond 175 yds. with this cartridge so 2 - 3x is plenty. At 1 and 1.5x, the image doesn't seem right. I don't know how to explain it, I'm sure its just my eyes. From 2 to 4, it's great. This is the Crossfire, so it is the less expensive model. To me, the image, brightness, contrast, clarity, all those important factors are just fine, and sooo much better than the 3-9 I replaced.
I installed the M*Carbo trigger kit. Wow! What a difference.
With Federal 180 gr. Power Shok, I got about 1 1/2 inch groups. OK for deer. I loaded some Hornady 165 gr FTX over H110 powder and got an easy 1 inch. It's worth experimenting with different loads. These rifles can shoot.
The bolt is clunky, no matter what technique I try.
Back to the scope. I like it enough to seriously consider putting one on my .30-30.

I have the same rifle with an 18 inch barrel and I shoot 150 grains in it and it can shoot 1 inch groups all day . I tried 180 grains but It wouldn't group worth a hoot

    • @jonquirk9582
      @jonquirk9582 2 роки тому

My 110 wouldn't group the 180s worth crap either. The slow twist rate i believe is to blame for not being able to group the heavier weight projectiles, my 110 apex groups the 150 gr ones like a dream at 100 yards

I have the same 350 axis. Our daughter has the Ruger. We chamber Federal Non-Typical 180g.. We've shot the Winchester 180g. My recommendation is to stick to 180g for the 350. I like to know What trigger swap you did, and bi-pod
P.S. I also bought the CVA Cascade 350.... If you are in the marked for a 350.... stop at the CVA Cascade... you will not be disappointed

I bought the same rifle and mine does the same thing with the bolt. The bolt not only sticks after shooting, but it is really hard to bring the bolt lever up. I guess you get what u pay for. Other then the bolt issue, it's a fun shooting rifle and was accurate for me. Has the bolt got any smoother for you after shooting it more? I have about 15 rounds through mine so far. Thanks
