Just finding this channel. I was at the range today and got the same results I got the last time out with my Savage Axis II 350 Legend gun. Less than 1" groups (3 shots each) with the Winchester 145 Gr FMJ rounds and about 1" groups with the Winchester 150s and 180s at 100 yards. Something I started doing years ago after being frustrated when buying a gun is I always re-mount a scope no matter if I buy it from a store, a pawn shop or my dad gives it to me. I use a Torque wrench and tighten all screws to 15-18 in lbs (and I use the blue loctite on all screws). If you can't get 1" groups with that CVA, check the scope screws. I was in the military and shot expert on M16 and Pistol, but, I am NOT a great shot. If I can do it.......anyone can.....happy shooting!!!
I have two of them. I do wish they had an ejector. Accurate enough for deer hunting. A joy to carry. I went with the Hornady black 150 grain. Over 2500 fps.
I have a 350 Legend in AR platform. Winchester Power Max and Winchester Deer Season XP shoot the best for me. I'm loving this round so far. I'm afraid it may be replacing the 30-30 but so I've killed 2 deer with it and I'm very happy. THanks for the video
Thanks for sharing. I just bought the same gun yesterday. All they had was Winchester 145 Gr FMJ ammo. I am not a hunter, just shoot for the fun of it and do You Tube shooting videos, so FMJ works for me. Nice shooting with those couple ammos that worked well. I also bought the CVA .44 Mag. but have sprayed it around a bit (probably me). Thanks again and take care.
@@alanlechleidner6951 Alan. Thanks for the info on the ammos. I had so much trouble finding .44 Mag ammo that I shot whatever I could find. Had some Blazer, Armscor and Ammo Inc. Been mostly shooting my reloads and mostly thru my Taurus handgun. So, I don't have much of an opinion on what was the best. Thanks.
They legalized straightwall rifles in Illinois for deer and I was looking at this exact rifle. Thoughts on which ammo you liked best? I have used hornady out of my 870 ever since I started hunting so naturally that is what I would gravitate towards but I am not sure
The browning seemed to work well. But the 150gr Winchester is what everyone tells me performs great out of most and has the most devastation. I have yet to use it though.
… I would remove the scope & base and clean all the oil and dirt off the metal and out of the screw holes with q-tips and alcohol … then I would reinstall the base securely and locktite the screws in with removable locktite
@@Spidermonkey2a ... that's a good thing for re-loaders ... no crawling around on your hands & knees looking for fired cases that have been tossed 10' by a guns ejector ... an extractor with no throw is much better
Poorly done. Reminds me of a recent target debacle by Spomer, who should know better. Check your target and mark results for every group, please. Center your target on a background that shows all impacts clearly Paper is cheap. Maybe a new target for each ammo tested? Put a target camera up to show real time results Still... this channel has potential....

Thats awesome! Congratulations on your kills. I haven't gotten to take this out yet but I'm looking forward to it. Much appreciated
just picked up the same cva scout 350 can't wait to put the first shot threw it once I get a scope for it
Awesome! Enjoy
Shot mine today it didn’t like the American whitetail was a 4in group Winchester 150&180 grain was a 1in group for mine.

Don't know if still relevant. My cva scout 44. Did so so with Hornaday and rem. Likes federal 240 hp

Yeah i found some Bushnell scopes are good some ain’t kind of hard to pick and choose when you don’t have a boat load of cash 👍🏻
Agreed
I really like the Bushnell trophy scopes
did the same group, winchester deer season xp had the best group, followed by Hornady white tail. the other 3 didn't group as well.
Those pdx defender rounds are excellent for deer. In my CVA Cascade, they produce one ragged hole at 100. 2 deer this last season fell to that combo.
Very nice
Recently got this in the pistol version. A V2
What a little hammer in .350 legend.
Very nice. Enjoy!
I think if you are a reloader you will really enjoy this rifle and caliber combination. There are some really stout 180 gr loads.
Great test, wow...Hornady Custon was unexpected.
Ever measure the length to ogive of factory ammo and see if those of certain length group best?
I haven't. I probably should though

Did you shoot any deer last season with it? Like the idea of reaching out a bit more and price is right. How’d it perform in the field. Thanks
Unfortunately I didn't take it this year
Get you a new optic yet? Primary Arms and PSA got some pretty good deals on scopes right now.
I don't have this rifle anymore but I'll take a look at those. Much appreciated 🙏
@@Spidermonkey2awhy did you sell it, issues?
You should be using 147 gr. And 150 gr. Winchester ammo
How u like the trigger on the cva?
I like them alot. Not sloppy. Crisp and light
There is nothing weak about the 180 Winchester or the 180 gr Federal.
Doesn't it eject the case upon cracking open ?
No it doesn't

The problem is not to he gun: it's the caliber n it's weak performance on big game!!!
Could be
Agreed! It’s pointless !
Bla bla bla
It's a lot better than the trashy 243

... that "cheapie" rest looks pretty unstable ... good for kids practising with their 22s but not for real guns
Just purchased the CVA Scout in .35 Whelan....tried 5 different loads, shoots terrible!
Sorry to hear that 😞
Barnes?
… try removing the scope mount, cleaning everything with q-tips and alcohol and locktiting the base screws in
