- We are not expert marksmen, but on this video we will put the 350 Legends, and the Leupold VX Freedom 350 Legend CDS scopes to the test and 100 and 200 yards. We will be checking the height accuracy of the scopes along with the tracking ability once moved. We also have Jon shooting a non CDS scope checking how much his gun drops at the different ranges.
Thanks for mentioning health issues with senior hunters. They have arthritis in shoulders. Worn joints or past injuries. This caliber just may be the ticket to keep them in the field.
just got a cva scout in 350 few weeks ago to set up for illinois "one shot" gun season this first year to legally use a rifle instead of shotgun slugs. have had bleeding in my eyes for last several years and hd switched to low recoil slugs, but so far with on ly handloads, i can tell the 300 will be a big improvement recoil-wise for both shoulder and eye bleeding. some genuine improvement in accuracy, ability to practice, especially trajectory/scope zero setup. thanks for your old video...still out there for the everyday hunter!!
Just bought a Ruger American Predator in .350Legend. I am excited to get to the range!
Your gonna love it! Like shooting a 22 mag with actual knock down power
Great video guys, I just purchased a Winchester XPR stealth 350 legend and I think I found my scope for it after watching this video. Excited to some whitetail hunting next year with it.
Thanks for watching!
Just bought a Ruger American 350 legend today!
I think you will love it. The 2 of ours are tack drivers.
If the wind isn’t blowing.😂
@@tristanharris4384 It's also a heck of a lot shorter and lighter to carry which is nice if you're going to be walking.
I fell in love with my 350 Legend MSR this hunting season. It's a great caliber!
We love the round!!! Its very fun to shoot!
Love your gun safety (going hot) and video is great. Just got a 350 but due to day before gun season the crossbow did the trick. So next year for sure the 12 ga is retired and the savage 350 will be in action. Good job guys, keep up the good work . Sighted in at 100 and then turned scope and shot it at 300 and it was on great there also. Don't have anything that far hunting but scope range was on so look out next year.
Thanks for watching!
That Ruger says it all. I have one in 450 BM. Tack driver all day
Ours sure are too!!
Me too.
Great job guys, I am finding the 350 legend is a good all around caliber.
We think so. We are loving it so far
Absolutely love this caliber and I'm not hunting in straight wall states. It design is about perfect for the North Eastern woods.
Points fast due to the short barrel little recoil due to case design and dumps it's energy inside the animal.
I get it some folks think you need a magnum for under 200 yards... that's their right to choose one too 😜
We love this caliber as well, that is why we are trying to get the word out about it. We had really good results hunting with it last year, and it is a joy to shoot. We also do not live in a straight wall state.
@@HuntingSOBs there's definitely going to be more to come as this deer season is quickly approaching in many states. I really feel that the 350 Legend comparison is the 35 Remington and that's old school black bear/deer medicine in my neck of the woods.
Why? Because it flat out works... no frills involved... just tradition ingrained through generations of hunters who know what works :)
I agree with this comment 100%
I took two deer in the last week in western ny. Both died on the way to the ground. In fact the first one had a beech sapling in front I didn’t see in the scope. The 180 grain splintered it and blew up that does lungs before lodging in an ash tree behind her. The second deer at 160yds never even twitched. Just fell down dead.
Anyone who says the 350L is underpowered has never shot one or is a damn liar.
@@blaws6684 definitely agree... until you try it for yourself... you're bound to be sceptical about anything new.
My brother took his nephew out for the first day of Pennsylvania firearm season and he harvested a 3 and a half year old mountain buck. It was his first deer. A big 10 point with mass!
The 350 Legend broke both the bucks shoulders destroyed the lungs and clipped the heart. The buck snowplowed for a good thirty yards before dying.
@@blackie1of4 congratulations to him.
My 5' foot girlfriend, 120 lbs loves her 350 Legend Ruger Ranch rifle. It's an accurate little thumper.
I guess Alaska girls are tougher. My ole lady is same hight and weight and loves her 300 win mag and her 458 lott. She shot the 350 legend before me and said it's like a 22
She sounds fun
Good info. Thanks for sharing.
Good job fellows enjoyed the video I'm considering Getting A350 legend
Great viedo, The Leupold VX freedom 350 seems to fit Legend 😎. Have yall tried the 180 gr power point ?? If so whats your thought on it ?
Great alternative for states and Counties that doesn't allow high power cal to hunt deer👍
Thats the truth. Its just a cool round in general.
If you notice at about 7 minutes in, a bug is going to walk out on his barrel and stop. Then he is going to shoot, and the bug doesn't even move. That gun isn't recoiling much.
It barely has any recoil
Nice!
Hope you liked the video. My brother is working really hard in improving our editing. And the 350 is bad A
@@jeremykizer6506 I did, and the video was good. I’m considering a 350 next year. I think for me, it’s a 150 yard gun max. Just where I feel comfortable.
Again, good job!
Good stuff !
Thanks for watching!
Why are so many 350 owner putting Leupold scopes on their guns. And why did you guys choose the Leupold?
If you find ammo for your 350 at a decent price get it! I just got some at over $28 A box what I got if for when I got my gun. Noticed on gun broker some guy from IA buying every case and yes every, so don't know what he's doing with so far 8 cases of 180gn but out bid me on all with more $$ than what I would pay. SO a heads up with all ammo shortage to get in stores.
We had to order 6 boxes online
John, what scope rings are you using on ur Ruger (at least it looks like a Ruger American)?
From your experience do the 150 gr win XP rounds get pass throughs or leave decent blood trails?
Great video!
No pass-through on the buck i shot with it this year. But i didnt need it. He dropped dead
Aight
What was the zoom setting on when shooting? Did that seem to make a difference on where to aim at farther distances?
The zoom was on 9, I dont know how much of a difference it would make.
I bought the Ruger 350 legend go wild about a month ago. Took a big doe at 125 yards and dropped her dead in her tracks. Was looking for a good scope that would help me with a longer shot. Think this might be it.
You will love that scope. It is made for the gun. Great quality and affordable
👍💪
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Nice MBG = Modern Brush Gun
Its just cool all the way around!!
Do you think that scope will work the same on a 350 Legend AR platform rather than a bolt action?
Absolutely it will work just fine on an AR, the important part is shooting 150 grain bullets.
@@HuntingSOBs I picked up 2 boxes of 124 grain at our gun show last weekend. It's all I can find. And I paid $25 per box. 20 rounds per box. So, I have to get what I can. It is about as hard to find as my sex life is after 25 years of marriage. Lmbo!
Lol. We are all well aware of both of those struggles! 🤣
I got two of the Ruger go Wild for my kids last year and liked them so much that I got a Savage (only lefty on the market). I have the vortex scope on mine but that leupold is superior by far. Nice recap of the rifles and scopes. Check us out on Heris to the Outdoors!
Will do, and thanks for watching!
Will it shoot 300
Is that the Winchester 150gr deer season xp ammo?
Yes we are all shooting the 150 grain deer season xp ammo
Yeah. This scope is specifically formulated for that round
I did not get it. Tracking looks horrible, i have same scoop and I was thinking it was me but no, it is crap.
Their are a lot better long range videos for the 350 windy or no wind
Probably so, we just put this one together real quick to show the tracking on the CDS dial, but thanks for watching.
@@HuntingSOBs well I narrowed it my choices thanks for the vidoes
Let's see your stretch out after 300 yards. I see with the 22-in barrel it's got just just about a thousand foot pounds of energy so if you can hit it you can kill a deer
Your gun is louder than ruger
Yeah I will stay with 30-06 and 300 win mag. Not a fan of this 350 legend.
2 of us shoots 300s and we love them but we really like this round as well
You know what's cheaper than a Leupold VX with a variable turret? Just sighting in .350 LGD at 150 yards. You'll be 2" high at 100 and 2.5" at 200. Seeing as your below 1000 ft lbs of energy at 175 yards, you're basically dead on for the whole usable range of this caliber with a 150 zero. Not a precision rifle caliber so why bother doping it at all.
