My guitar teacher told me, as we studied David Gilmour, that this guy is not playing guitar, he is telling a story on his strings, that what makes him so different from the others, the scales and everything is based on a "easy fundament" but he tells the right story with this very simple and genius stuff in a way no one else can! Give David a Instrument with only a pentatonic and he can make a 20 min Solo on it that is full of the lyric like a good short story that keeps you reading till the last word.

I'm 66 years old, and to this day, I still enjoy the music of Pink Floyd. I remember hearing Pink Floyd for the first time in 1970. I fell in love with their music. Their concerts are epic. Their albums are epic. The younger generation today, they don't know what good music is. Back in the '70s and '80s you got your money's worth when you went to a concert. Especially a Pink Floyd concert.

I was born and raised in Fort Apache, The South Bronx. My mother was a bartender. When the man came around to change the records on the jukebox, he would put the old ones in a box, and hand them to my mother, they were considered disposable. I had every kind of music imaginable on 45s. This allowed me to hear and appreciate every kind of music that was being produced at the time(late 50s-early 60s). Everything from Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley , to Motown and the Chipmunks. It's so important to listen to different kinds of music! I so enjoy seeing you react to all the various Great Music available. Everything is on the Internet, now. Keep up the good work. Show the young Brothers and Sisters that music is not limited by race, age, or situation. You are doing a great public good! KEEP IT ALIVE!!!

Bobby Dodd stadium Atlanta, GA on the second night for me. The first night sold out immediately then they announced a surprise second performance for the next night. A classmate had just introduced me to Pink Floyd earlier that year and they have been my favorite band ever since. When the second night was announced she asked if I wanted to go with her and her friends to try to get tickets. I found myself sitting at what would have been front row seats at the 50 yard line had it been a football game watching the performance of a lifetime. It was an experience I will never forget.

Jamal, your description of the show with people sitting quietly, mouths open just trying to take it all in was exactly how it was. I was there the night after this recording and I remember looking around and seeing people just like that, and I know that I was. When those brown and green lasers were firing above our heads it was just incredible. I agree with you though. I have two lists: My Playlist and My Top List.

I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know, and I know all the great ones.

Love seeing your reactions to the music I grew up with. 94 saw pink floyd in Alabama legion field. Parked my car in a black resident's yard to save money and to help him. Had to go to the car to get the wife something. The man who owned the property came up to see what I was doing as he should. His mother in her night gown came running up telling us to kneel and repent for our sins because Gabriel was blowing his horn. Gilmore was playing the beginning of sorrow at that moment. I don't regret missing that because she was so precious and wanted us in heaven. Wonderful moment in my life.

See enough of David Gilmour, and watch how he plays... the way he bends those notes, and feel how he also bends your soul. He's flawless. Listen to MAROONED and you'll hear what I'm talking about.

This is the genius of David Gilmour. He's a treasure. Check out Remember That Night live from Royal Albert Hall. It's got old Pink Floyd, newer solo stuff. It's soooooo good. Guest vocals include David Bowie, David Crosby and Graham Nash. Everyone should watch it. ✌🏻🖖🏻🤘🏻🧸

I was so lucky to see pulse concert 3 times. I went to so many concerts but I never saw something like that. Pulse concert was the best life experience I had. Watching or listening to the video is amazing but being their was something I cannot describe. We were surrounded by music coming from every where, vibrating inside us with every note, drowning into lights and lasers like a sea covering the whole stadium. We were not watching a concert, we were inside some unique experience.

When I was younger, I knew an old black man called Ol' Sam. That man loved music. He had rock, pop, jazz, soul, funk, blues, R & B, country. big band, gospel, etc. A friend and I asked him one time why he so many albums of different styles of music. His answer: If you stay with just one style of music in your lifetime, you're missing out on the beauty the world has to offer. If a song - no matter what style it is, makes you feel good and tugs at your heart and soul, its a beautiful thing of the world.
I would imagine that if his family still had his album collection today, there would be some very, very, rare albums worth a lot of money.

I was at the show in ‘94 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. 90,000+ attending. Absolutely mind blowing, never been topped since (for me at least.)
I love your appreciation for what PF accomplished in their musicianship, but also their showmanship. Props to you for 1) not interrupting a David Gilmore solo and 2) keeping your eyes open. It kills me how many reactors get so caught up in the music that they close their eyes and miss half the experience of a PF live show.
Suggest literally any other song from the Pulse concert. It is that good. Take a couple of hours and experience the whole performance.
    Peace.
