    Thanks to you Dr Dan, I am at nearly 80 years old, on the verge of understanding the chemistry of fats. You are a great teacher, it`s a pleasure to watch your videos.

    Brilliant and brave video. The message and narrative needs to change. I've lost friends trying to explain that fat isn't bad for you when eaten with the correct ratio of other food types (low carbs, and moderate protein). I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't know that the biochemistry for most of this has been known and understood for decades, Yet the official message never changed and has always extolled following a low fat diet. Criminal.

    Another great video Dr Maggs. Keep on helping more people to see the dietary light and decide to take the red pill.

    Thanks for this easy to follow video. As a 60 something with high cholesterol I followed the low fat model for many years, eating low fat yoghurt, having Flora instead of butter & using what I believed to be healthy sunflower oil. Now I don’t have these things in my house. I’ve also massively reduced processed & ultra processed “food” now that I really understand what it does to our health & have far less carbs, though I don’t strictly follow a low carb diet. Over the last year I’ve lost over a stone meaning I’m no longer overweight. Still have high cholesterol but it seems lowering LDL is not a great idea in someone my age, in fact it can be protective as I learnt from Dr Aseem Malhotra, consultant cardiologist in UK & others. Personally I say no to low fat & no to statins, which I was on briefly 4 years ago. Never again!

    A very interesting & in depth video, thank you Dr Dan. I have a spoonful of olive oil in the morning, I fry using only coconut oil & I drizzle Avocado oil on my salads & real butter on my toast, I'm sure I'm going in the right direction. The reason, I think, that the government don't tell the people the truth is down to money. Our doctors would rather give us pills to take than to tell patients about a healthy diet & how it could help with blood pressure problems & gut problems. Thank you once again.

    Presumably cold pressed seed oils are ok since eating the seeds is fine…?

    • @simonround2439
      @simonround2439 Рік тому

      As long as you consume the oil before it oxidises (you won't have long)

  • @carljenkins259
    @carljenkins259 Рік тому

    Seed oils actually aren’t really a concern in humans as the proposed mechanism by which omega 6 is meant to cause inflammation isn’t valid as levels of arachidonic acid don’t change after consumption of omega 6. Even if they did arachidonic acid has also been shown to form anti-inflammatory molecules. So the ratio of omega 3:6 doesn't really matter in humans.

    • @simonround2439
      @simonround2439 Рік тому

      Even if the ratio of omega 3 and 6 is not important, seed oils are still a massive problem. The heat and pressure necessary to produce them causes them to be oxidised by the time you buy them. They cause huge oxidative stress in the body and contribute to diabetes and cardivascular disease. I strongly recommend you check out the videos of Dr Paul Mason.

    Way to complicated. You need to say what fat you are talking about in real life , lard, dripping, olive oil. Also not percentage or grams, but real amounts, tea spoon, size of sugar cube. No mention of organic, or dangers of farmed Scottish Salmon. Tell us what food is good to eat without the complicated terms.
