I started having wrist pain by doing normal pushups so I started doing knuckle push-ups.. it feels way better because my forearms and wrist are getting stronger
Broke a bone in my wrist about a year ago and am now 7 months post-op, my range of motion in my right hand is too fucked to do normal push-ups but, lo and behold, discovering knuckle push-ups has been a silver lining
I do knuckleups on the concrete outside my job and when I get a chance to. They help develop your shoulders into Boulder shoulders (3D style) and they help build grip strength, forearm strength, and calluses on the knuckles and outer hand. It’s good to have calluses on the inner hand, but I’ll be honest I gotta start being more consistent doing knuckleups so I can have strong hands all around. :)
i started doing knuckle push ups after i had my wrist hurt, and after a couple of weeks of doing them, i could punch street signs like they were out of rubber, nowdays i actually punch walls lightly from time to time because its fun and doesnt hurt

Makes perfect since to me . Some people skip and go right to the weights , but with push-ups you get more of a full body workout , especially with knucke push-ups you increase forearm and wrist strength
I did 30-40 knuckle pushups for 8 years nearly every day. You get a nice punch. Now after 10 years pause, I am sure, that a punch would still hit hard. The hardened knuckle skin stayed. Before you challenge someone look at his knuckles, if they have the hardened skin, let it be.
I did them on the Marble floor, like 60 (15× 4) and my knuckles are red and flattened, they're hurting like hell but i can feel the power in my forearm

Strengthing wrist and bone alignment is absolutely correct, i wouldnt be surpised if he did kyokushin karate, knuckle pushups is my go to, for some reason it hits my chest like nothing else. I focus on the first 2 knuckles.

I started doing knuckle pushups today on regular flooring. First set of 20, noticed my middle knuckle got super tender but not bruised. The next 40 I did on the pinky and middle finger knuckles with no problems. Fingers feel real tight afterwards
Because I knew how to do knuckle push-ups, I currently know how to do finger tip push-ups. I will also note I do lots of eccentric knuckle push-ups because of the explosive powers it has. 6-12 reps of 5 sets of the knuckle push-ups will get you the strength you need.
I have seen this video yesterday, I tried with knee knuckle pushups I did 20 in 1 set on my first day and Today I tried pure Knuckle pushups I was able to do 5 reps and hold the 6th rep for 1 minute. I will keep trying to do more reps. Edit : it's been 2 weeks and now i do 10 knuckle pushups regularly.
What I like to do is knuckle push ups to failure and as I'm lying there I switch to palms and do palms to failure. That way you're not neglecting the rest of your body in favour of your wrists.
Where I am from this is a form of punishment. I did this a lot on the gravel almost everyday when I was in highschool due to me being late, absent, or running away from school. Now it is the only kind of push up I am comfortable with LOL.
I always pretended to walk like an ape as a kid so I would always have my knuckles with pressure and I’d do this outside too so when I started doing push-ups I decided to do the closed fist method and I could pretty much do it anywhere other than certain terrains

I have disabled ass hands my whole live due to a severe case of dysgraphia/developmental coordination disorder, so I cannot do pushups on flat hands because I can't flatten my hands on the ground. So naturally, I can only do knuckle push ups, but I never thought to balance on mostly or just your first two knuckles before, that is a fantastic pro tip! I thought as someone with a black belt in karate and more importantly, as someone who can only do knuckle push ups, I wouldn't learn anything from this video, but I was wrong.

yes, it is good if one does not have a makiwara or any punching bag at the moment. so do the knuckle push-up. This also reinforce wrist strength training aside from impact training by punching.
I've had bad wrists since i was a little kid. Have been doing knuckle push-ups my entire life pretty much. Some people assume I'm being a try-hard but doing standard push-ups is painful & actually harder for me. Always flat though, I will try your rolling more onto the knuckles & see how that goes.

I have a reoccurring ganglion cyst in my right wrist that makes it incredibly painful to put my wrist back, it even stops me from doing Bench press and regular pushups. So I do knuckle pushups instead, I find it even works my chest better than a regular pushup and it doesn't hurt my wrist at all.
During our internship we are required to perform, knuckled push ups, every where, wether ins on rough floor or smooth flooring, muddy floor , . . . . For 3 months, . . . Blood just a normal on the fist, . . . But when it healed , . . . Doing it is easy as breathing, . . .
this is so much better I used to get pain in my palms I'm assuming from my veins popping or moving from pressure (fixed it my flexing my hands) but this is so much better overall in my opinion, I'm going to look into it more to see if it fully safe tho before doing it constantly
My dad who has passed always said to pull back your punch milliseconds before they land. They land just as hard but dont break your wrist. The pushing through a punch breaks wrist and pinky fingers

Go to a boxing gym and see the force you put into a bag when you push it with your fist vs the guy who's been doing it for years. Bet you that he hits harder and doesnt push through his punches. All your doing is putting unnecessary force on your bones,tendons, muscles. When you punch through you also are not ready for the next punch fast enough. You cant combo punching through. The only time punching through works is when your twice the size of your opponent.
There's a 7th benefit: if you have shoulder impingement issues, doing push ups on your knuckles is is kinder on them, because your hands are in a neutral position.

I think my knuckles are naturally hard since I boxed since childhood. I started just punching at wood and metal when I’m bored now I remember though a couple years ago I was hitting a heavy bag with a lot of force it didn’t hurt my knuckles but my wrist was injured for a couple days.

Try dead hangs for 3x30 seconds good for hand and wrist strenght
