So I have watched your videos and learned how to paint my own cars, parts, body work, and even making my own carbon fiber parts and you gave me the confidence and knowledge to do these things myself and not have to rely or pay for someone else to do it. I just need you to understand how important what you are doing is man... You are leaving a legacy of online knowledge and trade secrets and taking the hand of each and everyone of us and showing us your world. You might not think of yourself as heroic or doing anything life changing but you changed my life, my ability, and know how I don't need to know your intentions for why you started this channel I just need you to know I personally look up to you as a friend a confidant and a hero even though we have never met. Thankyou for being there for me in my time of need, easing my frustration and giving me the ability to do stuff I never dreamed of ...
Sure enjoy your channel. You’re a great teacher. Keep up the great job and God bless you and your family.
Can't wait for the next stage. Always up for learning or knowing something I didn't or a new or more efficient way to do something
This video series couldn't have come at a better time.
THANK YOU!!!
Excellent video as always Brian. I use occasionally Upol primer aerosol for minor breakthroughs. It has a little more build to it and takes to sanding really well. Autozone.
The interface pad is key - without it, you're making hardship for yourself. You will be sanding in flats everywhere - the interface pad cuts that right down.
Wet-sanding is the proper way to do it.
Yes indeed wet or dry what to use great video helps so much cheers.
Hey Brian great video, another thing to to do if you don’t have guide coat, use an an LED light at a low angle, you can see everything with a led.
Good explanation of scuff pads near the end.
9:16 and 600 for non metallic and 800 for metallic
Awesome thanks learned a lot like vacuuming light primer for burn through oh my then sealer is my second pant job think maybe Macco...would be good choice thanks Bryan like your videos I apply your techniques bet will turn out good appreciated!
I asked a few weeks ago, what would be, in your opinion, the best grit before paint, to achieve good adhesion, versus smooth surface. This video seems to answer my question, and then some!! Thanks, Brian!!
Great video, can you make a video on how to reclear faded carbon fiber panels
Great suggestion!
Was just up front at my shop and in the customer area low and behold on the throttle channel we use one of your videos was playing!
What’s a throttle channel? I haven’t heard of it.
@@PaintSociety i believe its apple tv my boss has. It plays a bunch of different things like nitro circus and red bull stuff, drifting, all kinds of stuff, i took a pic of it but i cant upload the pic in the comments
Paint.society@yahoo.com
Send it there. I always interested to see how people find out about me.
Just to be sure @9:00 do you mean primer then sealer? Btw watch alot of your videos and youre a great teacher. Thanks
Seal it before paint****
Yet another brilliant well explained video Brian, keep up the good work👏🏻
Your video is life changing mate 🤙
Thanks brother 😊 your all videos are very helpful for me 🎉
I’m doing the roof on my BMW, the clearcoat is peeling after 25 years. I’m using p400 and p320 kovax sandpaper because it cuts very nice. And as you mention, the interface pad is key. I will be doing the same steps as on my bumper: sealer, primer, paint and 2k clear. Thanks for all the tips and advice Brian
So sealer and primer is not the same thing?
Awesome thank you video
Brian , could you make a special video about smc prep/paint ? Im working on my c3 vette and im ready to get it painted or i might do it myself
Every time I use a 2K primer filler. I block with 220 grit sand paper, reguide coat and finish with 400 grit. I spray over 400 grit, sealer, base possibly sand the base, spray more base, clear coat it.
Next episode waiting 😊
Nice video, thanks for all the info love all your video.
Brian. Learn so much from your channel. But can you cover keeping paint guns and shop clean. I feel I am doing nothing but wasting tons of acetone and am poisoning everything with all the waste (we can still use oil based where we live) and d
Thank you!
thank YOU!
Did I miss a video where you applied the primer? Just recently found your channel.
Yes its a few videos back. A photo of the primer sitting on my work bench is the thumbnail
Plz also tell us what mask you are wearing during the paint. And if you can tell what brand of mask is good and recommended by you to use
Nice❤❤ n how long do we have to wait for the paint to dry? for apply next 2nd coat.😊😊
Another great video Brian. Hey I have been looking for information as to what if anything is required with regard to surface preparation prior to sanding on a finish where "ceramic sealer/coating" has been applied? Any advice besides the normal wax and grease remover??
Question, what is the best or recommended paper for sanding? A/O, ceramic, silicone carbide?
Thank you
I know that's a DIY-grade Eastwood product but wouldn't that sanding block benefit from a swivel elbow fitting?
Maybe but you get the hang of it.
That's where that sign needs to go inbetween the two black cabinets 👌
I wish! But thats a window
@@PaintSociety oh right looks like a flat panel on the video shame perfect place for it aswell great video by the way 👍just watched the other one with Mario
And you clear coating that BMW 👍
@@dredfxcustompaint thanks! Just a little acura actually
Great video thanks for all the info been following for a while, had a question on the pps system you use the large 28oz liners?
After the body work stage, can I just take it up to 150 before the final prime?
How you ever tried to do wet vinyl? I’m looking to do it but not a lot of videos out there on it.
On a hood can I use 1 layer of epoxy primer then paint
I’m restoring a 69 Dart, most panels are new AMD. I scuffed them and sprayed with epoxy. When is it necessary to use high build primer? Or can base coat go over epoxy?
Would i be better off buying a little bit cheaper guns and buying 2 for different applications or spend the same amount on 1 single gun that can do it all. If so which would those be. 600 dollar or so budget
Hi just got done doing patchwork on my floors still have a little bit of surface rust. What would be my next step?
what sandpaper brand would you recommend, I have 5 cars and trucks I need to paint, they are all starting from metal or need sanded down really good I need 80 and 180 on da 180-2000 block paper I don't want to go broke doing it and I don't want to have to buy 800 different small packs
Brian will u be painting that panel in your garage and what Extraction for the overspray will you use for this job would be very handy to know please.
Yes i have a spray booth
@@PaintSociety inside the garage yes would be great to see if possible.
Follow the curve of the fender.
What's the name of the tool that's holding the fender? Do you have an Amazon link for that? I'm currently restoring our '65 Chevy C10 and could use some of those
Hey brother is it possible to use the 3m gun and spray some cerakote? What tip would you use
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼😎
Eastwood 👌🏼
I coulda used this advise last week when I didn’t just knock it flat .. I knocked it off and started all over
I have a 22 dodge challenger in F8 green, before i got it , it had a license plate bracket on it so now it has for holes from the screws how can i fix those hole and reblend the paint on the nose of it?
would it be possible to explain what are the paint stages from the beginning to the end, for complete beginners .
thank u.
Most of Brian's videos cover that topic. Next time you have some free time, plan a Paint Society video marathon. It will be time well spent.
To wash after sanding can I use acetone or isopropyl alcohol I stead.
Instead?
Brian will you transition into spraying waterborne?
Brian, your sand paper looks really good tot he chinese stuff i use from ebay. Be nice if you tried some cheaper ones to see what you thought. also about paint and breathing aperatus!
thanks for the vids. helped me lots.
Oh also, is 1/4 air line too small for painting with a devilbus gti pro lite. thanks
Thanks for the tip!
Hi there or anyone else that's been painting. I'm just starting out and got given a 1k primer and reducer as wel as 2:1 satin black that I wa t to paint
Can u just use sealer primer instead of primer?
In your professional opinion 😁👍 is the fuji q5 platinum a good turbine machine to use to respray a whole car and get a perfect finish by using the 0.8mm tip?
No turbine IMO is good for a whole car
@@PaintSociety thank you for getting back to me I really appreciate it 😁👍 could you elaborate a little as to why it wouldn't be good? Would you just recommend it for spot repairs? Sorry for the questions just starting up and want to know which way to go
@@maciejwolonz5018 its just to slow to keep everything wet enough. You’ll gave dry spray and orange peel
@@PaintSociety thanks 😁 keep up the amazing work 👍
Question, i have a 06 TSX paint code B92P, bought it in 2010 and it has been use down to my children over the years, ive have replaced and repaint the front fenders, hood and bumper cover over the years but from the front doors back is completely oem paint. it has some scratches and the clear has started to fade and peal off on the roof and pillars. i like to repaint the entire car but also save some cash by having a friend spray it. how much base and clear should i buy in order to het this done? is there a specific brand you recommend? this is a daily not a show car but like to keep it in the best shape i can. thank you
Nice
Hello Paint Society, I have a question for you. I painted my van (DIY) over 35 hours ago and didn't have time to put the clearcoat on, so can I just sand the basecoat lightly and then spray on the clearcoat or do I need to repaint the van with a fresh basecoat and then add the clearcoat. I was told you have to add clearcoat with in a few hours of painting.
Re apply base. You must or the base coat will be distorted
Thanks for your help!!!@@PaintSociety
What causes wrinkles? I heard you mention it and i remember someone telling me that its the primer underneath curing faster than the color. I was gonna do a sealer on my current project but now im scared to do so as the color goes on right after sealer right?
For clarification I have primed it already and will sand soon. I was going to take the same 2k primer and thin it 20% for a sealer coat and then put on metallic color 30 min after sealer coat
Im a Filipino sir. And i am a auto painter, can i apply to you sir?
Can you use marrooon or grey scotch brite to just scuff over the car before paint ? I plan on using an omni base paint (metallic) and clear afterwards. I’ve got it pretty close all over with p600 by hand $ block but do have some burn through areas to adress
Yes you can
8.6.23. ❤
Hi! Where do you work?
Please make a video how to fix small area paint by airbrush i mean 20cm in car it’s deference idea to show your followers as you the please ?i
You better cover that beautiful floor with a tarp before you spray epoxy or 2k primer. My floor used to look like yours!
How come you didn’t use the cross hatch method
Its just primer. Not body filler
I wanna paint my car 🙈
I used a pre painting prep and it removed my primer and messed it all up
Collision guys always finish sand with DA. You can almost always see flaws in paint because of it.
I love your videos, can I get a comment heart?
On the glosmobiledetailing unblock me i will just chill I was worried about getting my vehicle right
