Awesome trip. Always wanted to do something like it. A couple of notes, I'm a retired Forest Service Road Manager in Baker City. The "mud slides" on the Marble Cr. Pass road is actually an old lime quarry. The Marble Cr. road was built around 1957 by the Chemical Lime Co. in support of a mining operation for limestone. The mine was an open quarry mine. The east side, Baker Valley side, Marble Cr. quarry operated from 1957 to 1963. The road winds it's way up and through the heart of the quarry. Another lime quarry, the Baboon Cr. Quarry, was opened up on the west side, Sumpter Valley side, of the Elkhorn Ridge. The road likewise winds through this quarry as well and tons of left over limestone tailings can be seen today, in fact this section of road is built from limestone tailings (mud slide). The limestone becomes super saturated in rain, washing down hill and hard as concrete when dry. Heavy trucks hauled the limestone up an over Marble Cr. Pass and down the bone shattering road to the processing plant in Baker Valley. The Baboon Cr. quarry was closed in 1971. Today the road is used mainly by locals, hikers, and hunters.
Another note. Even though a map may show a public access road through private land (like near Beulah Reservoir), if the public entity doesn't have Right of Way, the road through the private section is private and the landowner has every right to lock the gate.Happy Trails🙂
Great comment. Thanks for sharing! Love the history.
This kind of local information available around the globe is the best part of UA-cam, IMHO. thank you!
Awesome adventure! Also BTW I’m a mechanic, that sound you heard was a rock that got stuck in between the rotor and the backing plate . Terrible sound happens all the time when traveling on gravel roads! Love the content cheers 🤙🏼
That’s the worst sound! In all my miles on doesn’t that was the first time I’ve heard it on my rig. Thank goodness it was an easy fix. So cool to hear you are liking the vids. More coming soon!!
That rock, is a sound that makes everyone cringe. I'm laughing, 😅 we have all experienced it but man you kept your cool, proud of you!!!
@@josephlininger2677 Thank you! Lol…it is the worst sound!
That Portland camping burn was hilarious and yet sadly so true. As an Oregonian that lives just outside Portland I can tell you that is 100% the case. We’ve had just about all we can take of this town.
It's definitely not the same downtown Portland I grew up enjoying.
@@Venture2Roam ya that is for sure. Just FYI I’ve been binge watching all your Oregon content. Wife and I are looking to move from Portland to central Oregon and when we do the sports car is getting sold and a new Jeep will once again be in the garage. Thanks for all the inspiration. 😂👍
Awesome, thank you for sharing. Don’t want to be too sappy here but with all the turmoil in our world today it truly warmed my heart to see the friendships all working through the little things. In the end it is those little things that make the adventure a memory that will last a lifetime.
I don't think that's sappy at all...that's how it felt as well. We are still talking about this trip..even though we've been on many since!
What an awesome adventure. I'm going to Jeep Jamboree in Tillamook for the first time in June!
Thank you! I've heard that Jamboree is really fun. Hope you have a blast!!!
Staying flexible, being positive and relying on each other - great adventure.
Thank you!
Just watched the whole thing on a flight. Even though I watched the trip already separately I liked it all together movie style even better. Great work!!
So glad to hear the long form vid worked for you. Thanks for taking us along with you on your flight! Safe travels.
Nailed it! New subscriber here, I have been following a few other overland channels that have turned into giant money making entities. THIS is what it's all about, Jeeps, family, friends and adventure. The other guys, which I have unsubscribed from, might appeal to 1% of the Jeep owners now, just stopped getting it. Sad but true, making money won out for them.
Can't say enough how much I enjoyed this.
So glad to hear it!! I can’t speak to the other channels you used to watch, but am stoked to hear our content resonated. Don’t be afraid to keep me honest as we grow…because I agree that it should stay focused on those things.
Such an amazing episode. Great job Will & Kate!
Thank you so much!!!
Awesome trip y’all.
Making memories with your kids and friends for a lifetime, and keeping it real, the good and the bad.
Keep up the good work, and keep making memories
Thank you!!! Lots more coming soon.
What an epic route dude! The ending shots were absolutely beautiful man!
Thanks Tyler!!
What a great adventure! The end really made me homesick. I'm originally from WA (Snoqualmie) and spent many years out on the WA coast (Aberdeen/Hoquiam/Ocean Shores), and I miss those Pacific sunsets. I now live out in NJ.
We were on the East Coast (NYC) for 6 years before coming back home. Good sunsets out there too…but something about the western skyline gets me every time. So glad this brought back some good memories for you!!!
This was a fun trip to follow along. Thanks for posting and sharing. Looking forward to future adventures and getting out there as well. 🎉🛻🏕️
So glad you enjoyed it. Lots more like this coming very soon!
Oh great information and I definitely hear you. Getting out off the grind is definitely key! Happiness is out in nature.
So glad to hear you like watching this!! More coming soon!
Burns is Southeast Oregon not Central Oregon, We consider Bend/Redmond/Madras Central Oregon
You’re right, although Bend is west of center and there is quite a bit of central Oregon East of Bend. That said, the feel of the landscape doesn’t change much from Vale to Christmas Valley, so it’s easy to for me say the wrong word…heck I say the wrong thing even when I know where I am!!
@Venture2Roam you are forgiven then. Just keep up the good content, and hopefully, sometime I can join. After I get my Rebel and upgrade it for overlanding
Great job as always. Very pretty
thank you sir!
I just came across your channel tonight and man I am so inspired! I haven't been camping or overlanding since my son was born but I am so inspired to make these memories with my son now! Loved this video and content. Keep up what you guys are doing I can't wait to explore more of your guys videos and see Idaho and parts of the US I haven't experienced. 🙏🙏🙏
So cool that you found our channel!!! Getting out with the kids is a priceless activity..working on our Nevada trip right now, which was a family trip...can't wait to share it!
Fun watch! I absolutely LOVE the country out here! Saw a lot of places I know well, I’m sure you enjoyed yourselves! Cheers!
Thank you! That route will be published via OnX really soon.
Just finished watching this with the family. Awesome trip and awesome video as always. Best of luck to your channel from a fellow Idahoan.
I love hearing that you watched it with the family!! That’s what I hope for for these films. More family focused content coming soon (Nevada Movie). Cheers!!
Loved the journey. Had funny moments, glad the beach had sand and not mud, sand running is so fun !!!!
Thank you so much! The sand was a blast for me..I'd never done it before.
Which beach was that? Looks like Coos Bay/Florence area@@Venture2Roam
@@sheltian1 Silt Coos just south of Florence.
Thats my night sorted 🔥
Right on!! Enjoy!
Well done!
I just found your channel and I love your content!
Thanks for sharing your journeys and documenting them so well!
I’m so glad you found us!!!
First time seeing your channel and I love you guys. You guys really love adventure. No pre planned route and you pulled our paper maps!! 😳 Awesome. And the trip was absolutely stunning. Thanks for taking us along.
So glad you liked it!! Hoping to run this one again...but this time with the route completely worked out. In the meantime we just posted our Nevada movie if you're interested! ua-cam.com/video/qJv0IfF1Hx8/v-deo.html
Loved your show. Well shot and edited. Looking forward to watching more!
So glad to hear it. Lots more coming soon!!
This video is incredible! I always wanted to get in the over landing with family in a jeep or humvee. We just moved from Washington to Las Vegas and the greenery was absolutely breathtaking. The whole journey you did, and you drove through some parts that I camped in was incredible. I love the final destination. And there’s something so nostalgic and comforting about being in the forests when it’s foggy and rainy. I didn’t know how lucky I was! Now, I’m getting into riding my Polaris quad through the desert. She was used to the forest before! I do have one question, when you get home, how do you not feel sad that your trip is over? I always get this, when I come home I become so emotional and try to think about the next fun journey that’s ahead. This channel deserves more hype! Am excited that I found you guys out❤🤗
We did the NV BDR in Sept..that vid is coming out asap. NV actually blew me away. So different, but equally beautiful. I’m a actually equal parts sad and excited when a trip ends. Sad because the adventure is over..but excited to start working on the video. I get to relive it many times over. Thank you so much for watching!!
Watching you cross Marble Creek Pass in June brought back memories. I grew up in Baker City and have crossed Marble Creek often. June is pretty early for that particular part of the Elkhorn Mountain Range.
I grew up in Ontario, and played Baker in sports…you guys were always tough. I think we were the first full size rigs over the pass this year. We saw tracks, but they were from ATV. I love that mountain range…I think it’s one of the best in Oregon.
1:18:32 you got a little crawly friend climbing up your jacket collar
As always great awesome adventure, beautiful ending 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙see you guys on the next adventure 🤙
So glad you liked it!!! More coming soon!
Old Fashion is my favorite, gotta try that
Inspiring
Thank you!!
Bomb of a trip guys , enjoyed it all , had to sub a few days ago and now going through catch up mode 👍
Thank you for the Sub!!!! I'm fixing this route right now. Can't wait to share it with everyone.
Cool video.
From Fort Rock Oregon, just north of Paisley.
Awesome! We’ve been to Fort Rock. It’s a really cool area.
Wow! No camping, full camp sites in October in Eastern Oregon? La Grande? Steens mtn? Crazy. And yeah, paisley oregon is sweet country. Thanks for making a fine video. I used to drive a Jeep. Wish I could find a single lady who does what y'all do. good on ya for trying those empty" roads" good job making it to the beach for sunset, thats a long haul.
Paisley was a hidden gem on this trip..what a great place. I can't wait to finish this route and run it again...we're very close to finishing it!
Did I miss it, which Cascades pass did you go over and where to at coast. I never drove on the beach, sand, salt, etc., then I've seen too many people lose their cars and RV in the surf. When I was over at the Wallowas, the road down to Hells Canyon was closed for repairs, so I had to go a long way around because I was going for a boat ride. Some day, I'll get back there. And Knowing Oregon all my 75 years, I did not really think you would get far in the back country, but it was nice seeing it.
We drove through Eugene to Florence to get to the coast. Having grown up in Eastern Oregon and Idaho…I knew there was a chance some of those roads would be closed…but we’ve worked out most of the roadblocks now. Sorry to hear the roads were closed when you were at Hells. They are in great shape now!
I thought you were on Willamette Pass. You went right by me, I'm about halfway between Eugene and Florence, out in the bushes. In winter, I like the coast because usually not so cold. But east of Cascades in summer, I have to be super careful of rattlesnakes for dog who stays on leash.
Absolutely epic adventure my man! REALLY want to do this route at some point
Summer 24 dude. Let's do it.
Hey, I'm new to over landing. How did you support those molle hangers on you're trk. I have a Dodge Durango and I think they look awesome. I really enjoyed you're basic over landing but don't forget the upkeep of your vehicle, absolutly imperative to your survival. You don't have to have a new vehicle but u gotta have a trusting vehicle and you gotta have some tools, you could do a show on that😮
On the Jeep the side racks are from Trailrax. The side molles on the Gladiator are from RCI I believe. Thanks for the suggestion on content topics!
Super vidéo !!! J’ai adoré ! 😍😍😍🇺🇸

Awesome adventure!

Is there a website that has posted routes? I know this particular one isn't ready yet, but maybe others are available somewhere? I really enjoyed your film, a lot of work went into it, that's for sure.
Thank you! I haven't shared any other routes. This is the only one I'm planning on making available. I hope to have sections on of it ready in the next month or so, and the whole thing ready by Spring.
Awesome.
🙌
Love this video! I have a navigation question. What do you use to plan your trips and how do you go about it?
Awesome! I use Gaia a lot..also OnX. I made a video on this topic: ua-cam.com/video/OKiH6KHhszE/v-deo.htmlsi=Uhfj97eZGPrF9HUj
Haha, "this is everything I hate about campgrounds, full of people." 100%! Great Video!
Thank you! It's true...generally speaking I really hate campgrounds...especially when they're stuffed with people!
@@Venture2Roam For sure! When people ask me about my truck build, the number 1 answer is usually "to get to where most others can't"
Instantly knew the sound of rock in the caliper I wondered how it took so long for y'all to figure that out
Once you hear it, you instantly know exactly want it is…we just hadn’t heard it before, so we took our time to think about it. Now we know what it sounds like, we’re like you and can instantly figure it out.
another inspirational video, are you and your group communicating on GMRS ?
Thank you!!! Yes we use gmrs.
Looks like a great route! In my backyard to!!! Any chance of a GPX File for GAIA coming?
Probably early 2024. So glad you liked the movie!!!
Those tire tracks at 7:38 😳😳
Oh my gosh…I never noticed that until this comment. I have to assume that they were going slow and just pulled over to take look. Otherwise….yikes.
Good stuff
Thank you!
Great movie! Is the AOR the East-West version of the BDR? Plans to make any more?
Thank you! Yes, it's kind of like my version of the BDR..although not affiliated in any way. I have plans to make more..I've been working on an Idaho route, and am in talks for a Washington route as well.
Great video! Are you guys interesting in sharing the route?
I’m actually out in Oregon finishing the route right now. It will be available soon!
Who makes your extra fuel/gas bracket and would you recommend?
The mount on the 392 that hangs over the back window is from Trailrax. The ones of the front door hinge of the JKU are from Amazon. I like both. The trailrax is a more useful piece of gear because you can mount more things on it.
Absolutely EPIC! Can't wait to hit this route. A question about your flawless radio comms.. How do you handle it so there's little or no stepping on each other? Is that the editing or do you set some ground rules in advance with particular radio etiquette? It's really smooth and I love the captions with individual photos so we know who's keying their mic. Keep up the GREAT work!
Thank you!! We don’t follow any standard radio coms protocols…it just kind of works for our group since we know each other so we’ll. There are a few times we overlap that I edit out..but not often.
Amazing Route and video! Do you have the route posted somewhere?
Not posted yet. Still working a few kinks.
Awesome epik video
Thank you!!!
did y'all ever end up publishing this route somewhere? i'm looking to plan a trip quite similar to this & would love a jumping off point. thanks!
The route is complete now. We're publishing it exclusively through OnX Offroad..it should be out this summer!
The sound was a rock between the brake disc and the dust shield. Have had that happen more than once.
It's a terrible sound!
@@Venture2Roam At least you didn't have to pull the wheel!
Rock in between the dust guard and disc?..
Yep. Nailed it.
Epic route. I liked your video. Could you please share the whole route map?
I’ll make it available once I finish the route.
@@Venture2Roam still you are in middle of the trip? Sorry enjoy your rest of your safe adventure trip
Sorry, I meant finish as in "fix" it. There are sections we couldn't complete on this trip so I'm busy fixing the route. I want to have driven every inch of it before releasing it.
I swear I watched this a few months ago. Did you re-upload this or is this a longer version of one of your Oregon videos?
Yes I did. I originally launched this as a 3 part series, but shot it and edited it as a single feature length film. I made some adjustments to the long version, but it's intended for folks who'd rather sit down and watch the whole story vs those who just want a quick episode here and there. I did the same thing with the Idaho BDR series last year, and am planning on doing the same thing with our upcoming Nevada BDR film.
@@Venture2Roam makes sense!! Had crazy Deja Vu for a bit 😂 love the videos, excited to rewatch this one!!
🥃 🥃 Bourbon Brothers
🥃🤜🏻💥🤛🏻
Any chance you're going to have a map of this route for sale? I looked on your website and don't see that you do yet. Let me know, I'm down for one!
Yes we will. I still need to Iron out the western section. Working on it this Fall/Winter.
What do you all hold your phones in the car? Wouldn’t it be so much easier to use phone mounts? Live the video though.
Glad you like the vid. We do have phone mounts…but that footage can be really shakey on rough roads so we just started holding the phones when shooting. Plus most of the footage isn’t from a phone, it’s from a full frame camera, which is very tricky to mount because they are bigger and heavier.
Post it and we will follow! :)
🙏🏻🙌🙌
Any plans to release the track's as a gpx file?
Yes, but we are fixing some of the parts currently. Will make it available soon.
@@Venture2Roam stellar news and I'm looking forward to it
you really need to get ONX so you know what land you’re on. I’ve done a lot of this travel in Arizona always checking who owned it and often you can get a hold of the owner and I will allow you through. Just takes more research.
Lol. We did plenty of research. We use OnX and Gaia. That wasn’t the problem.
How do I get a copy of the map to do this myself with my crew😅
It will be out later this year.
Is this route available to purchase.
No, but it will be available on OnX very soon.
4 High Realy?
Really. I don't understand the comments that question why you'd put your rig in 4 Hi when offroad.
Bigger tires break parts
You're not wrong.
gpx files for this route?
Coming later this year
It's definitely a bunch of city slikers 😂 t
Is supposed to be an insult?
@@Venture2Roam don't go getting all upset, but it was all pretty mild.
@@vern4577 I‘m just trying to figure out your intent. It read as if you’re using city slicker as a derogatory term…or that somehow where your home is located has some correlation to off-road experience.
Bunch of city people so afraid of the weather 😢😢😢 welcome to Oregon people suck it up???
City people are the worst. They are the reason for everything bad in the world…even the weather.
I like your videos, but I don't know the English language. It would be nice if there were subtitles in Spanish. greetings
Thank you! I'll investigate how to do this.
Nothing more annoying then drunken tourists in a camp ground 😢
I agree!
Lame
Dumb.
Dude where you aired down in eastern oregon 🤦♂️. As a local we take cars on that grade drinking beer don't be so dramatic . I had to stop watching.
I’m not sure what you’re referring to. We aired down in Idaho just before hitting the Cuprum and Hells in this video. Did I make a big deal about it? We stopped for sandwiches and aired down…I feel like you’re referring to something else?
Such an amazing journey.
Quick question; We have been enjoying so many of your videos and I recall one of the videos included a stop at the “Y Stop Country Store” for ice cream with the family.
Do you recall which video (title) that is? We’re planning on heading up there soon and want to stop in for Ice Cream?
Thanks.
