This was easily one of the best overland movies I’ve ever watched. People don’t understand how much work goes into all this filming and editing and narrating, plus the real time dialogue captures. And it really highlights some of Idaho’s wonder!!!
Thank you! I really appreciate this comment, it totally made my day. Most importantly though, I'm glad you liked the video. I hope to many more like it!
I too had to look up the definition of commercial... because i wasn't sure if i saw any advertisement for product/ gear/ ect... But what do i know This was a beautiful film, thank you!!!
Part way through the video and I’m curious is diesel fuel is available at the same places you go fuel at. I have a house near Idaho Falls and thought about doing this BDR on a bike but also have a 97 Land Cruiser that I’m thinking about swapping a diesel engine into. Thanks again for the video. Pretty cool.
Diesel is definitely spottier than gas...I think the section around yellow pine, warren, bergdorf would be hard for that...I think you can get it in Elk City, Darby, Lolo, and Pierce though.
I recently went to Nevada and showed my 78 year old dad your video. (He didn't even know what UA-cam was haha.) He isn't able to go out and adventure the backcountry like he used to anymore and was amazed at the quality and information on your video. So thanks again for such an amazing video and for letting someone who loves the outdoors but isn't able to travel like he used to live vicariously through you!
You sir won the award for best over landing video. Certainly if there was such an award you would receive it. There were so many elements to this video that you layered to give an extraordinary experience for us UA-cam off roaders. Well done 👍🏾
I stumbled upon this video. I am a backcountry hunter. Carry everything with you on your back for up to 10 days. I enjoy seeing how others define back country. Everyones definition of it is different. To a city person in a civic the back country could be a groomed gravel road to a car camping site without electricity. To an Overlander its a rough trail without cell service or a way for normal vehicles to get to where they are. For a backpacker it may be 20 miles from the nearest road but still on a trail. For myself its off trail many miles from the road with nothing but whats on my back to keep me alive and happy. Perspective is important and should be remembered when looking at others own definitions. Great video btw. Keep Adventuring
I agree with you, there are different definitions of backcountry...and I use the term in these videos knowing what a "real" backcountry excursion looks like. I have a ton of respect for those who use their own two feet and back to carry everything. I like overlanding though because you can see soooo much country in a day..but we'll never quite get to the depths of say, the Frank Church Wilderness with wheels.
You live in your own little world until you're on a mountain top. Then you start to grasp, very abysmally, how vast creation is. You realize how small and insignificant you are in time and space. Unbelievable, Epic, Life Memories etc These are just a few words that entered my mind while watching this documentary. You have hit this one out of the park. I’m just getting into overlanding and don’t know a thing about it and this film was by far the absolute best overlanding video I have ever watched on UA-cam or in a movie theater. @24:22 I stopped by at this same spot when we had a lil back road trip from Arrowrock dam to middle fork river and exit out to Idaho city. Beautiful spot.
Just recently bought a Rubicon and then I found this video. We live in Boise too. Ready to explore our amazing, beautiful Idahome. It’s a sign. I am supposed to do this, I know it. Absolutely love this video, and the production quality is top notch.
Man, what a great journey. We will have to add that to one of our future to dos when we are put in that area. We just finished a 3 month trip where we left NW Georgia and headed to Ouray, Co. Then followed the continental divide trail north through wyoming and montana until we hit the Canadian border. We ended up going north from their to the Arctic and to alaska after tuktoyatuk. Then back down the stewart cassiar through washington and oregon to moab. I am glad my wife joined me with our two dogs as well. It was an epic journey as well, a once in a lifetime. We nowlan to do another 3 monther south on the continetal divide down into baja to cabo san lucas. We met Rob out at o erland Expo West when he interviewed us for our gladiator build and veteran project this past year. We did talk a little about our trip and think je was just stating to get his tundra built. I think it's great you guys get out. We need to do the same with some folks on my side and complete some of the rooutes down here in the southern portion of the Appalachian Mountains. Anyways, great trip. I really enjoyed the movie. We need to get motivated and start to post all our videos from our trip. Just wish i had had more help filming, so it's hard to do, drive, and film all by yourself.
This video is EPIC, the videography, live talk with the commentating over it and also the conversation on the GMRS is really incredible. I drove the Lolo from Lochsa north the weekend before you did. My goal was to clear as much of the road as I could over the weekend. You probably noticed that the trees were mostly clear the first half of the Lolo. That’s where I had to stop cutting. I stopped counting at 250 trees. Sorry I missed that first overhanging limb. My Jeep is a bit shorter then yours are and I was by myself so I opted to leave it since motorcycles would have been well below it. Me and a buddy also cleared from Blue Cabin to Avery of trees over 5 weekends as snow thawed. We worked from north to south on that section. Awesome movie, I appreciate all the hard work you out into this. Thank you!
You were doing God’s work. From all of us who drove those roads THANK YOU!! Next campfire I’m making a toast to you guys. Awesome work. Much appreciated.

As a native Idahoan, I have also enjoyed some of these same remote roads. It was good to see your great adventure. Thanks for filming and sharing it.
🙌 Thank you. As a native Idahoan myself..it was an incredible experience to drive this great state on backroads...I need to go back and do it again...but maybe take a slightly different path.
Wow 😮 that was the best upload u guys have had! It only gets better from here . Can’t wait for tomorrow 😊
So glad you enjoyed it! Working on the Nevada BDR Movie right now. Should be out very soon.
Found this vid around 11:30 on a Sunday night. 1:45 am now. Thanks Will :)
First video of yours I have watched and I am impressed. A delightful tale from front to back. I’ve done the Salmon Valley and Lolo Pass on my Harley, but not the Overland route.
Spectacular episode! Well done Sir.
Lol. Thank you, so glad you found our channel…sorry to have kept you up 😀. Both of those drives are beautiful on paved roads too.
@@Venture2Roam As a subscriber to The Story Till Now, I giggled when I saw it was Shaun who was the villain that offered the Clamato to your friend. I think his videos are truly some of the very best edited videos on UA-cam. Yours was on par with his.
Btw, you need to add vodka or gin to the Clamato to make it a Caesar. Then it works. :)
@@kaiserman6667 It's safe to say I'm not going to drink Clamato juice again unless one of my Canadian buddies makes me a Caesar. 😝Shaun is a friend and an inspiration. Not only because he makes awesome vids..but because he make more adventure videos in two months than some channels make in a year. Super flattered you mentioned me in the same sentence!
@@Venture2Roam Just keep doing what you do. The rest all falls into place. I live not far from Shaun and he is frequently in my town but have yet to meet him.
Thanks for the conversation. I can’t even imagine the time it took to create this video and others like it. 100% class act.
Why I watch UA-cam.
As a northern Idaho resident and Jeep owner, thank you! You have done an amazing job of showing the trails and appreciating nature and the local history and attractions. Thank you! I did the Magruder Corridor, and I am now looking forward to doing this!
Thank you so much! I need to spend more time with exploring Northern Idaho..it blew me away..and there’s sooo much cool history up there too. Cheers!
Thanks for taking me/us along on this epic adventure! I grew up near Jarbidge where my mom used to play for dances there and now I'm living the dream in North Idaho near Wallace. Spectacular video!
So glad you enjoyed it! Both Jarbidge and Wallace were two of my most favorite places on that trip. Cheers!
I've watched the latest instalment of this great series, and am making my back in time, discovering amazing aventures you had Will. Bravo! it seems that your passion for this type of project didn"t falter, luckily for us. Your talent, work ethic are remarkable, you made the right choice making it your career because you're made for it.
Thank you so much. It's comments like this that keep inspiring me to keep making videos. It means a lot, thank you.
This is super cool. I'm 50, born in Idaho, lived in Idaho about 3/4 of my life, live here now, try and see as much of its wilderness as I can. I haven't even scratched the surface. Even in heavier travelled parts of Idaho around population centers I've been to all over the state someone will tell me a spot really close that I not only haven't been to but have never heard of.
I agree. As someone born and raised here, it seems endless…in the best possible way.
All those episodes came together nicely! There were enough extras added to keep me on my toes! Great job Willis! Your best yet!!!
Thanks Bro. Can't wait for more adventures with you.
I absolutely enjoyed every minute. Of your trip. Thanks for sharing. I saw things I would never see otherwise.
Right on! So glad you enjoyed it!!
G'day guys. I'm Australian and AM totally enjoying your video. Gorgeous scenery
Thank you so much! Hop to make it over there someday.
I think it would be great if we could somehow help Aussie's enjoy the same 2A rights we have.
So glad I found this channel. So much fun to watch. 🎉
I'm glad you found us too!!!
@@Venture2Roam found ya from rhino off roads video💪🏼
@@jonnytacooutdoors Right on! Kevin is a very cool dude. We're putting together a video right now..he's been in on couple collab vids on this channel and knocked it out of the park every time.
@@Venture2Roam both your guys editing and videography is inspiring!
Dude, so inspiring. Can't thank you enough for the work to make this movie and to share this adventure. I'll add the Idaho BDR to my bucket list. Can't wait to see more from your trips and can't wait for later this summer when my popup camper is being built and I am ready to hit the road. Thank you 🙂
So glad you liked it! This adventure was near and dear to my heart as I'm a native Idahoan..hoping to make more vids like this one soon!
Wow what an amazing adventure, great video , great tunes and amazing views !!👏👏👏👏
Top notch, glad I found this channel.
Thank you!! So glad you found us too.
This was such an awesome film. As someone who loves the outdoors and nature, you did a great job capturing everything!
Thank you so much!!!
Great Job!! I have done chunks of several BDRs including Idaho. You did a nice job of capturing it.
Thank you! Hoping to do more BDRs soon!
Unbelievable, Epic, Life Memories etc
These are just a few words that entered my mind while watching this documentary. You have hit this one out of the park. I’m just getting into overlanding and don’t know a thing about it and this film was by far the absolute best overlanding video I have ever watched on UA-cam or in a movie theater.
BDR needs to hire you to be their film expert. Great job
That’s like the nicest comment I think I’ve ever received. Thank you! Made my day.
@@Venture2Roam I can’t imagine the number of hours it took to edit that video
@@RaptorPackAdventures it was a ton…but I loved reliving it.
Great video keep these coming😊
Thank you. Lots more coming soon!
@24:22 I stopped by at this same spot when we had a lil back road trip from Arrowrock dam to middle fork river and exit out to Idaho city. Beautiful spot.
Ya I love that spot. We've camped there before and it was really cool...what a great lookout. Cheers!
❤ Loved it! Fantastic video. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us.
So glad you enjoyed it!!! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Just recently bought a Rubicon and then I found this video. We live in Boise too. Ready to explore our amazing, beautiful Idahome.
It’s a sign. I am supposed to do this, I know it.
Absolutely love this video, and the production quality is top notch.
You are going to have a blast doing this route!
Thank you! Wow..sounds like you've had an incredible journey or two yourself! Can't wait to see the vids.
Great adventure - big cinema! I like the way you present it.
Thank you!
This video is EPIC, the videography, live talk with the commentating over it and also the conversation on the GMRS is really incredible. You have done such a great job showing what overlanding can be while at the same time showing the vulnerability you must have to nature and mother nature. This should be a 500k subscriber channel. Please keep them coming. Well done
Thank you! That's super high praise, and it's really motivating to hear. I'm just finishing up an Oregon series that will become a feature film as well, the final vid premieres tonight at 7:30pm. Here's the first two (ua-cam.com/play/PLv4WOiu-rUDAJKFspwz0p_oECb2JyK77y.html). Thanks again...500K Let's GO!!!!
Congratulations. Thank you for showing how beautiful our country is and there is so much more to see.
So glad you liked it!!
Very enjoyable to watch some epic touring!!
Spectacular scenery there and that Burton hub lookout was just wow!
Very cool to see some USA outback 😁 it kinda reminds me of the Victorian high country here in Australia but bigger 👌👍😎
Nicely filmed and easy to watch great job guys 👍
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it. I'd love to get out to Australia someday...definitely a bucket list item for me. Really appreciate the comment. Cheers!
Thanks for all the time and effort it took in creating this masterpiece, always great to come back and revisit this and get inspired for future overlanding trips.
It's really cool to hear you have watched it more than once. Putting together more big trip vids like this one soon!
I watched it all. Great Video!!👍👍👍👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
So cool you watched the whole thing!! I really appreciate it.
Thank you for the sacrifices and the excellent production. 😊
It was a heck of an adventure. Thanks for watching!

😂 Hope to see you out there. If you come by a white Jeep on the trial feel free to come by and give me a hard time.
This was such an awesome film.
Thank you!! Just finishing up my Oregon film, the series is out now...the film probably in a few months. ua-cam.com/play/PLv4WOiu-rUDAJKFspwz0p_oECb2JyK77y.html

Wow man what a unique adventure showing just how capable your Overland rig is .
thanks for watching!!
Born and raised in Idaho Wallace as a matter of fact lol great to see this show and hope everyone enjoyed my state lol
I loved Wallace. Hoping to get back there this year.

Get well soon bud. Love your channel and thanks for being our voice.
We love this shit too.
Future trails…
Great content! The sections are just suggestions for travel. Remember this for your next BDR and avoid those 7-11 hour drives.
Here's the next BDR: ua-cam.com/video/qJv0IfF1Hx8/v-deo.html
Beautiful movie loved the kids included with dads
Thank you! So glad you liked it.
Epic hardly describes this trip. I am fortunate enough to live in Southern Africa (Namibia) and have done many 'epic' trips. This one of yours absolutely blew my mind. Awesome!!! Oh, and the Jeeps over here are called Land Rover Defenders 🤣
That's super high praise, thank you! It was an incredible adventure..I dream of overlanding in SA one of these days. Hey I have zero problem with Defenders...those things are incredible..and quirky much like a Jeep. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!!
I like how you brought up that the Natives helped out Lewis & Clark it was my people Nez Perce. Love the video and how you brought up all the history. This is right in my back yard lol. Keep up the awesome content and safe travels 🤙🏽
Thank you so much!!! Without the help of the Nimiipuu they would never have made it. I should also say, without the mercy of the Nimiipuu as well. I'm not sure many folks know just what a perilous situation they were in.
Exactly! love how you said Nimiipuu can tell you know your history i love it! you're a;ways welcome in our neck of the woods. love your videos and how you go into depth so that everyone knows the history behind it. Not very many people know and are amazed when you tell them. safe travels out there keep up the awesome content. Much love & respect from the Nimiipuu Rez!

This makes me want to buy a decked out Jeep and go to Idaho! The footage of the those switchbacks of French Creek Grade had my jaw on the floor! I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for such a well put together documentary. I actually felt like I was there. You got a sub from me!!
YES! You should 100% do that. We just filmed French Creek on a winter trip this weekend...it was way sketchier with snow and ice lol. Love that place though.
@@Venture2Roam oh I bet! After seeing that video of the Jeep rolling down the mountain in Colorado, I would think twice about doing those switchbacks in the snow. I'd have to replace my seat upholstery
I love the magurder trail it’s so beautiful
Me too...it's a special place.
Awesome video, man I love those s-10 I grew up driving one about the same year
Thank you!
Wow this was awesome. I stayed up past my bedtime cause I had to finish it. Thank you for sharing this amazing trip with us!
Awesome. So glad you liked it. We just released our Oregon Movie, and I’m working on Nevada right now.
I’m getting ready to do the white rim trail in Utah, so I’ve been watching a lot of videos on different off-road, terrain. My attention span is very short and usually only watch parts of videos. I actually could not get enough of your movie and watch the entire thing. The movie had just the right amount of information about the roads, terrain, campsites, and more. I would definitely like to do this road one day. so I thank you for sharing your experience in making such a quality movie, hope to run into you one day on the trails.
What an awesome comment and compliment. Thank you so much. I'm hoping to make more content like this (longer journeys) as my channel grows. So glad you enjoyed the film. More coming soon!!
When I checked I thought you would be close to a million subs based on the quality, excellent work!

Thank you so much! Hoping to make more like this in 2023!
I loved watching your channel, awsome🎉🎉❤❤
Thank you so much!!!
I have actually been in the Trinity Mountain Lookout ! love that area very beautiful, but James Creek summit camping area was a great choice as its very beautiful also ! Building an Xterra overlanding rig now (after 6 different Jeeps its time for a more reliable rig, LOL) and cant wait to start exploring again.
I’ve been up Trinity a bunch, but never to the lookout. Need to fix that next year. Xterra’s are great platforms for Overlanding as long as you can source mods and parts.
Excellent filming, editing, and story telling!
Thank you!!
Enjoyed you film excellent scenery keep Wheeling God bless
Thank you!
Such an excellent idea! The fire/lumber roads in North Idaho are crazy. You could have another movie just up there!
I totally agree. I really want to go back up there and explore more!
Wow beautiful footage….brings back a lot of memories of the northern Idaho area, especially around Avery and Wallace. The house at the Polaski trail head is where I spent a lot my younger years growing up. I used to know that area like the back of my hand as we spent quit a bit of time in the woods around there exploring.
So cool to hear. Thanks for the nice note!!!
Thanks for this video. You're a great storyteller. I can't wait to visit Idaho someday.
So glad you liked it!! Thanks for leaving such a nice comment.
Will, you're a good storyteller

This was amazing! I cannot wait to try an overland trip myself with my friends and husband!! Thank you for sharing your adventure! I loved every second of this awesome movie you guys made!!

This was one of the BEST and best MADE overland videos I’ve seen! GREAT adventure! GREAT video guys! Thanks!
Thank you so much!!
Loved this movie, it was awesome to watch! I gotta tell you though at 1:50:00 when you backed your jeep up. My dog out of a dead sleep woke up and shot up concerned for your vehicle! 😂
Lol 😂. That’s awesome.
I grew up outside of Wallace between Sunset Peak and the mountain next door. Awesome video!
Thank you! I loved Wallace. We have to go back there with Kate and Eljse. That whole area is a blessed place. I wish we had more time to film it on this trip, but losing my cameras and removing my drive shaft kind of sucked up all of the time we had there.
