Meeting your cycling friend along the way was inspiring. It shows you don’t need a bus to seek your adventure …just a willingness to do it. Yes.. as a newly retired truck driver I’m inspired to retrace some of your steps from Ottawa Canada to the Pacific and as far north as I can in my 2018 Camry. Well look for your stickers and report back on what we find. Life is short…grab what you can while you can!! God Bless…have a safe journey!
I have so enjoyed your travels across Canada and up through Alaska and now the Arctic. I’ve been to various places in South America so I will tag along with you guys on your journey. Your vlogs are absolutely the best I’ve seen. Great job👍. Safe travels.
Not the one where you picked flowers despite knowing how slowly they grow and how harsh the arctic is. It sets a bad example. I loved pretty much everything else, and just wanted to let you know of the horrendous impact of social media influencers on outdoor spaces. Moreso now than ever, it is incredibly important to try to set the best, leave no trace example that you can. You did set a great example of a respectful tourist by mentioning the right of way of the truckers, and I want to give you props for that though. I'll have more positive things to say later, but I think the overall 'tone' and perspective of this video would make people have more respect for the places they visit because you made it about the places you went rather than making it about yourselves.
…I don’t understand how this channel does not have a million subs. It is by far one of the best produced channels on UA-cam. There has to be something we can do to help these amazing artists pump the subs up. As always great episode.

I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska from September 1965 to November 1967. As a geologist, I mapped an area in central Alaska for my masters degree. The oil at Pahoot Bay had not been discovered until a year after I left Alaska for my three years in the Army Corps of Engineers with one year in Vietnam. One of the oil companies donated $50 to me so I could purchase some surveying equipment. When the oil was found i was in Vietnam and my mother sent me a clip from the news paper about the discovery. When I drove the Alaskan Highway, I placed a sheet of plexiglass over the windshield to protect it. There were many rocks that hit it but it never broke. The price of the plexiglass was cheap compared to the cost of a new windshield for my 1965 VW!
Dude you drove a 65 VW up the AH congrats Ill bet there are some stories about that! I worked outside of Fairbanks as a contractor to the USAF we installed a bunch of seismographs. Ive driven that highway 3 times 2x in a 84 FJ60 landcruiser and once in a 85 F250 4x4 epic road trip loved it. Thanks for sharing your story and thanks for your service!
Wow, my cousin Mel Ritchey in 1957 wanted to buy a VW bus drive it from Ohio and Pennsylvania to work on the Gulf oil drilling rig. I already had a job with Sylvania and did not go, but he did. Chef asked if Mel would like a Steak, “Sure” Would you like TWO 1” thick !!! “SURE !!!!. He ate like that the entire summer and was paid $180 week and no place to spend it. I missed another opportunity in Alaska!!!! Lester. In The summer of 1990 we had a family reunion with 59 attending, including my parents wow I love Alaska and so did they and so did all our cousins that already lived there!!
The Engineer who designed the pipeline was my professor for Pipeline engineering class in 1981 at Cal Poly! I am sure he is no longer with us! God bless him and all those who worked on this project and the roads!
I agree with other comments that the production value of this video is off the charts! This is, by far, the single most thorough, educational and scenic video I have ever seen of the Dalton Hwy, all wrapped into one. My fam and I just recently moved from northern NY to Fairbanks. I thoroughly enjoyed coming along for your visit to Deadhorse and look forward to more content! You should have millions of subs. I just added one.
You guys are turning into masters of your craft, the way you research your surroundings as you travel thru them and present it to us with the cinematography and the background music is just magical, it's as if we are there with you, truly exceptional, I know Cora & Jose I'm always complementing your videos and your craft and with good reason as every time I'm overwhelmed with the beauty of your travels and your presentation, your lifestyle is to be congratulated and I know you realize what an exceptional life experience you guys live, the beauty of the natural world in never ending and constantly breathtaking, I've done quite a bit of traveling myself on my Honda Goldwing and I surely appreciate it as well, and that young man on the bicycle, what courage and determination, I sure hope God keeps him safe on his travels....Javi G.

I think I am living the Dalton through your video. I was just happy that my husband and I finally made it to Alaska a few months ago! It was a dream come true.
One of the major reasons I subscribed to your channel, is your voice, it is so calm and yet has an happiness and excitement to it. I first watched your National Geographic Expedition cruise vlog and fell in love with your content, presentation and your voice ☺️☺️. The next thing i absolutely love are the cinematography and editing of your videos. I just found your channel today, and honestly I'm blown away. So well produced and informative. I felt like I'm watching something produced on the discovery channel. Hope your channel blows up!!! Beautiful scenery and your voice is incredibly soothing.
Thank you so much Cora and Jose'...your dedication to making the finest video experiences shows through on this amazing adventure. Incredible drone photography and a sound track for the ages compliment your narrative. You have shown Alaska in a new and outstanding light and added so much joy to my life to simply sit back and watch each adventure unfold before me. Word fail me at times but please know that I will be a lifetime fan of your channel and your works. Much love to you both...Bob
Thank you, Bob. We both love that you enjoy each episode so much. It brings us both a lot of joy knowing you are with us on the journey. Sending a wave from the north!
I have traveled this highway many times and am in awe each and every time. I love the narrative and the history you give and as a lifetime Alaskan I also learned through your explanation of how the pipeline works and how this incredible land was formed.
@@ArtWeThereYet I visited Alaska in 2022, but only got as far north as Denali. I need to see your Denali episode(s), where you will undoubtedly reveal things I completely overlooked. I'm 71, but still in good health and now am determined to go back and rent a vehicle that can get us to Dead Horse. I've visited Ushuaia by sea (on a commercial cruise ship-ugh) and look forward to seeing and hearing about your journey there by land. While I'm gushing... Your narrative is solid, well-researched, well-written, well-scored, and beautifully delivered. What a voice! The camera work and editing is of equally high quality. Someone with the power to do so is going to find your channel and move you to a far more lucrative platform than UA-cam. I'll shut up now.
Absolutely one of the best travelogue videos i have ever seen. The narrative is fabulous. Your research and factual info is above anything I have seen. Thank you. Please repeat.
Bucket list ?? Nope, just did it with you folks !! Thanks for taking me along, that was spectacular !!! It so much reminds me of my time spent in Canada's Yukon & Northwest Territories, on the Dempster Highway etc. Looking forward for what's to come, be safe out there....... Cheers
:) Thanks for joining us for the adventure! The Dempster must have been amazing! We originally planned to do that, and then couldn't pass up getting to the official start of the Panamerican Highway (given our trajectory with the project)
As always, I love you guys. Love your journey, and especially, the storytelling. "When you meet a nomad, you get to connect with someone who really gets you... "
I have been to Alaska twice when I was on active duty. This video was very colorful and informative. Thanks for all the comments along the drive of Dalton Road. it was nice to see the mountains and the animals. I loved this video for all that you show. I hope you make many more like this. God Bless.
Absolutely stunning video! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for producing this so that all your viewers as well as myself can enjoy this adventure through your outstanding video and narration. Well done!❤
Fantastic video! ❤ We hired a tour trip there. It was an 8 passenger van. Our driver was a full time "Ice Road Trucker." The video brought back awesome memories. It was very interesting to see how much things had changed in 14 years. Thank you for this experience!
Got some giggles from this. My wife and I drove to Prudhoe Bay along the Dalton in 2019 from Florida pulling a small travel trailer. My wife and I were giggling hearing your comments on the Dalton being a dangerous road etc. etc. etc. It is challenging, I’ll give it that, but if you heed the advice offered at just about every visitor Center through the Yukon and Alaska on prepping for the Dalton, it is doable. Much of the advice (it’s actually in a pamphlet) is common sense - at least one full size spare tire, extra fuel, clothing and food for 48-hours, and if possible some sort of satellite communication device. I think the best advice was when approaching one of the 18 wheelers, slow down and pull as far to the right as possible. Most truckers will slow down and move over as well - all in an attempt to avoid a broken windshield. We had all this and obeyed the rule of the road and are happy to say every trucker we met did the same. As for fuel, the stops mentioned had no ethanol fuel so for most vehicles this meant better mileage. We filled up at the start, again in Coldfoot where we spent the night and then in Prudhoe Bay and just reversed everything on the way back. For someone who has never driven the Dalton, you may have put the fear into them to never attempt it. I say that with the utmost respect and with a giggle. Travel safe
Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing. "One of the most dangerous roads in the World" Really?? Guess she's never seen videos from India or Napal. Now 'those' roads are crazy dangerous! This road is tame enough to have Visitor's Centers, and it's paved a good part of the way. And it's not like it would be weeks before you see another vehicle if you do break down. Maybe a couple hours at best. Sure is pretty up there though!! Take your time, use your brain, and you'll do just fine.
We were thinking same thing. This is by far NOT one of the most dangerous roads. My sons and I pulled a 30ft travel trailer up to Coldfoot and dropped it to run the rest of way to Deadhorse and back. We took six days to complete the entire trip and had a blast. Not one issue on any equipment and that’s even pulling it through some dicey construction areas.
I was surprised how good and technically accurate this video is. I worked on the pipeline for 31 years and drove the length of the Haul Road over 200 times. Thanks for bringing back beautiful memories.
This is the finest compliment of them all. Thank you for taking the time to write this note. And WOW, 31 years working on the pipeline and driving through that land. Our hats off to you, sir. We are both a bit envious you were blessed to spend so much time up there. It will stay with us forever.
@ I especially liked your stay at Finger Mountain. I used to stop there before descending into the Kanuti River valley. The valley is a major migration route for caribou and spectacular during the spring and fall. Oh yeah, and I have slid down Beaver Slide…several times…yes, all the way.
I LOVE the insight to the wildlife and history of the road you gave along the way......the pauses to explain permafrost etc. are valuable to me....a very wonderful journey!!! THANKS for taking us along! Looking forward to more!!
This is one of the best channels on UA-cam. The narration is well-researched, and the geographical features are on point, with very precise explanations. A lot of work went into this. This is passion. Keep going.
This must be one of the most exciting documentaries I've seen in a long time. Kudos to this extraordinary journey and your incredible skills of telling stories. Greetings from an Austrian artist in Iceland! :)

I'm a truck driver on the Dalton. I must admit we greet multiple colored buses with no little suspicion. you have done a very good documentary of the Dalton Highway. Great content and wonderful videos. I've been here for years. And I learned a lot about the Dalton I didn't know. BRAVO!!!! You guys are my own heart. God's speed in your journey.
Michael, coming from a Dalton trucker, this is the BEST COMPLIMENT. Thank you!!! Cheers to you and the work you do. It's no small feat! Wave hello to the coastal plain for us...we can only imagine what it is like in the winter! Sending a wave from Canada!
Hey Cora, we certainly enjoyed this video, in fact we loved it! The detailed history and geography and other bits of information you provide is unsurpassed. Thank you for doing this. We are eagerly watching for each episode. Atigan pass and the climb might be our favorite stop, but if we'd travel this road, that may change.
Thank you, Edward! So happy you enjoyed this one as well! We're slowly and surely settling into a style and rhythm with the episodes. We'll see where they evolve to next!
I knew Alaska was beautiful, but you have done such wonderful justice to that beauty. Did I mention the amazing storytelling and narration, and what a soothing voice? Not one second of the video was one that should be missed! Super!!! super!!! Super!!! Thank you again

I congratulate you for your journey and hopefully will enjoy all the various episodes in future.

Such an awesome compliment - thank you! How was your trip on the Dalton?! You did the trip on motorbike, or bicycle? Either way, that is SO impressive!

Wow, thank you!
Best video i have watched this year. Such a meaningful story and life. Safe travels to you 🙏🏾
Oh my goodness, what a kind comment! Thank you!
@@ArtWeThereYet you are welcome 🤗
Bucket list ?? Nope, just did it with you folks !!
Thanks for taking me along, that was spectacular !!! It so much reminds me of my time spent in Canada's Yukon & Northwest Territories, on the Dempster Highway etc.
Looking forward for what's to come, be safe out there.......
Cheers
:) Thanks for joining us for the adventure! The Dempster must have been amazing! We originally planned to do that, and then couldn't pass up getting to the official start of the Panamerican Highway (given our trajectory with the project)
Your narration is f@ckin' awesome!
As always, I love you guys. Love your journey, and especially, the storytelling.
"When you meet a nomad, you get to connect with someone who really gets you... "
Way to go Bobby! Another amazing video. Thanks so much!!
Thank you Martha and John for tuning in!!!
One of the best videos I have seen on UA-cam! Definitely will watch the rest of your videos and follow your journey along!
Awesome, thank you!
I have been to Alaska twice when I was on active duty. This video was very colorful and informative. Thanks for all the comments along the drive of Dalton Road. it was nice to see the mountains and the animals. I loved this video for all that you show. I hope you make many more like this. God Bless.
Wow, the drone work is unbelievable.
Thank you so much 😃
Absolutely stunning video! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for producing this so that all your viewers as well as myself can enjoy this adventure through your outstanding video and narration. Well done!❤
What a fascinating presentation, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved this illustrated journey. I felt like travelled with you. Thank you for thorough illustration of the journey.
Such a kind comment. So happy you enjoyed the journey!!
Fantastic video! ❤ We hired a tour trip there. It was an 8 passenger van. Our driver was a full time "Ice Road Trucker." The video brought back awesome memories. It was very interesting to see how much things had changed in 14 years. Thank you for this experience!
That’s awesome! Did the tour go all the way to Deadhorse, or to the Arctic Circle?
@ All the way. We stayed at a hotel there and ate the same food as the workers. It was a real fun experience. It was like we had our own chauffeur.
@ Lived in Kathmandu, Nepal for 2.5 years and yep, those roads are dangerous and local drivers only add to the challenge.
I lived in Alaska 3x and I fully agree with your comment. Preparedness and common sense will get you there.
Yeah, tried to watch but she was just so dramatic, I had to turn it off.
Went up the road on a trip in Highschool. The river camp brings back great memories! Awesome videos!
Congratulations on reaching your most northern point… so looking forward to your southern journey.
Thank you so much!
Yay! So happy you enjoyed the episode. Can't wait to share the next stages of the journey!
This is one of the best channels on UA-cam. The narration is well-researched, and the geographical features are on point, with very precise explanations. A lot of work went into this. This is passion. Keep going.
Beautifully filmed and narrated. Great pacing delivering a display of the awesomeness that is Alaska. Wow!
Thank you very much!
The BEST video that I've seen showing the Dalton Highway! Your explanation of the history of this place is SUPER!
👏 Bravo. I have to watch it again to figure that out.
This must be one of the most exciting documentaries I've seen in a long time. Kudos to this extraordinary journey and your incredible skills of telling stories. Greetings from an Austrian artist in Iceland! :)
Such an amazing compliment - thank you! Sending a wave from Canada!
I was just there in Late September. Most tranformative adventure. Very different from my Tuktoyaktuk run 2 years before.
Oh wow, in late September! Just about everything must have already been dusted in snow, yes? How was Atigun Pass?
Thank you..thank you...thank you....your WONDERFUL story i could never ever duplicate...From indiana i motorbike the Alaska highway in 1968 after high school....not knowing the discovery of oil at north slope......i only traveled to CIRCLE CITY for a two day camp out at the YUKON river....A beautiful evening of solatude and return to Indiana with stories to share.....Then returned in 1996 to travel to PRUDHOE bay.....THANK YOU for your story.....Timothy from Boswell. Indiana
Hey Timothy! Sounds like you had some amazing adventures! The Alaska Highway in the 60s must have been pretty epic!

Super!!! super!!! Super!!!

Incredible narration! This is better than any Nat Geo work. Just mind blowing. A few of us friends rode our bikes through two years ago, and now I am learning all of this watching your vid
Such an awesome compliment - thank you! How was your trip on the Dalton?! You did the trip on motorbike, or bicycle? Either way, that is SO impressive!
@@ArtWeThereYet , your friend Louis is the impressive guy, we were on motorcycles. We did get snow on Atigun pass, and made the scenery just spectacular. Have the vid on my channel of our adventure 🙂

We couldn’t travel the 8000 miles in the summer but we had 18 plus days to travel this route from Michigan son in middle school enjoyed little to no traffic during Christmas vacation. It was a lot of fun even at -58 degrees at the artic circle signage
