Ok, watched the entire movie. Amazing. Y’all brought tears to my eyes. I’m a father of 4 and feel so guilty for focusing on my career and providing modern world comfort to my family instead is saying “hey, we’re going camping for a week.” I appreciate you guys.
I guess I'm a little different about what type of roads I like. Every week I go off road here in Arizona and the roads I look for are the ones you hated--slow, bumpy and rough. The ones nobody goes on. But at least we agree that the desert is amazingly beautiful.
To each their own…so cool to hear you get out so much…I’ve only been to Arizona once, but I really want to go back. I love bumpy rough roads, and obstacles, even some rock crawling…but 30 miles of flat dusty washouts aren’t what I was in the mood for lol. But I’d rather be on a dusty washout than sitting on the couch, that’s for sure. Cheers!

Just had to comment on the Joshua trees. I was born in Idaho, but grew up in the California high desert. Those things grow like weeds out there, but this was such a good reminder for me: “What’s old and boring to you, is new and exciting to someone else.”

There's a lot to explore there as well. Great job on the video.

Great video! When you got stuck in the mud, I would’ve started with the kinetic rope. That’s what Matt always goes to on Matt’s off-road recovery. Even over a winch.
Thank you!! Hindsight is always 20/20. We use traction boards so often, it’s almost always our first option…and we didn’t know just how bad the mud bog was until we tried. MORR is responding to calls where rigs are already very stuck…so bad that they call for help…so starting with a kinetic makes sense for his crew.
Even though I can travel only a small portion of the Nevada BDR in my stock F-350, I’ve been anxiously awaiting this video. I love exploring our state and this inspires me to get my butt out there more often. Well done! Thank you so much!
I have friends that do this for fun, they put tow hitch receivers front and rear of both vehicles, this way they can winch from either direction either a hit hitch mounted winch from either vehicle. Maybe this and the kinetic rope gets them through most everything. They also carry a couple ‘Dead man’ spikes in case there’s nothing to winch to.
This was fun to watch from your point of view. Well also ending the trip in Vegas put the cherry on top. Man, never thought Nevada had so much beautiful terrain. Thanks for always sharing your adventures with us Will 🙌🏽
@@Venture2Roam Yes sir watched the whole thing from start to finish. I liked that with the Mojave as capable as it was at that time I think it gave Kate some experience while it’s stock just so that she gets more familiar with it. I also liked the fact that you guys got out of the trails and treated yourself with some non-camp food. I think you need that sometimes after long stretch of driving. Bro! Will, you are so lucky to have the opportunity to bring your whole family with you. Especially to have your wife drive a rig and read the map. MAN! I wish I had a partner like her.
I couldn’t agree more. We will do more trips like this. It was awesome to have her be the main navigator..usually that’s my job, and it totally changed the dynamic…loved it.
Thanks Chuck. It was hard to convince myself to take out the camera after that..we were so tired…but those are some of my favorite shots from the whole trip.
Great video! Really feel like you captured the moments and portrayed them through video. It’s inspiring to watch that and to try to get my family out instead of just doing this without them. Good job
We were the first 4x4 vehicle to do the Wyoming BDR and we did it solo as well. We got stuck a few times as well. One tool that we took, which saved our butt is a PullPal. This allowed is to self recover in some situations where there was nothing else to winch to.
We love Vegas and the surrounding area...seems like there is an almost infinite amount of exploring you can do out there. So glad you liked the film!!!
What a beautiful content! the script is awesome, the editing and the footage are so thoughtful. Thank you so much for putting out such well crafted work!
Awesome, thank you. Another bucket list trip to add. You two make a great team and really enjoyed how the family interacted throw it all. Well, done in telling the story but more importantly the experience and the internal knowledge and trust you two gained on this trip. I must admit there was a section that reminded me of the movie - High Plains Drifter.
Trust me, your children will never forget the adventures you've had! You have planted the seeds of something beautiful yet to come and instilled in them a sense of wonder and adventure.
Thank you! I hope you are right. That's exactly why we think it's important to bring them along. It's ok with me if they become city cats in the long run...but I want them know what it's like to have adventures outside while I still can.
Great trip guys! Very cool to see a different side to you Kate--from the planning to taking charge a few times when things got tight and helping Will through the washouts. Also nice to see the Gladiator--my Jeep of choice--getting out there and killin' it. I've said it before, but I love the family aspect to your trips and that it's a big part of why you do this. You know it already, but your kids will not forget this way down their road in life. Thanks for taking us along!
So glad you liked the film. I have to tell you it was a lot of fun working on this with Kate, not just the trip, but she sits next to me while I'm editing and helps me make decisions. The Gladiator is getting some really awesome mods that will make trips like this much easier for Kate next time.
As much as I love the 392, I feel like I would always have range anxiety on trips like this in one. I love your music choices in this video will, especially 42 minutes in
There was only one time, just outside of Austin, that I had range anxiety. But it’s something I have to plan for on these longer trips for sure. So glad you liked the film!!
I had the opportunity to go to north Nevada in 2018 for field camp for my BS in Geology. We spent a week near Middlegate station hiking all over those mountains looking at rock formations and interpolating what we saw into subsurface maps. I'm originally from the West Texas deserts, which are awe inspiring and empty, but I didn't appreciate how empty a desert could really get until spending time in Nevada. I would love to do the Nevada BDR sometime in the future, hopefully I can find a partner someday as awesome as yours to do it with. Loved the video, thank you for making it for us strangers!
Great job on the video Will and Kate. Really felt like I was watching a movie. Day 4 - Really looked like home. Lots of terrain like that down here in CA.
Love this, took me a few days to get through it but loved every minute of it. Love seeing an everyday family doing this and being so open and honest. I'd also love to see, wgat are your thoughts like a few weeks after, you know, once it's all behind you, just 5-10 minutes on what you and Kate and the kids think and how it was
I am from the Elko area and frequented that area north of Elko, south of Elko, lived in Austin in the mid 80’s. I used to patrol all of Lander County and Eureka County. You brought back a lot of memories where I used to run amok. You mentioned Kingston Summit and Stokes Castle, (my last name), all favorite places of mine. Good video!
😂 Kettle chips are an Overland Only treat for us. I’d mail you some, but they’d be dust by the time they arrived 😂. Thanks for the comment…really appreciate it.

Fun video! Way to go Kate. I bet hubby will ask you to do more planning. The only thing that bothered me on this adventure was that the kids didn't participate much and it was a LONG drive between stops with not much for them to do. Need to include more kid time and even adventures that they can do and appreciate. It's not all about the parents. We know you have fun, but make sure they are genuinely happy with what they are doing and seeing. Hope you get them involved in the planning as well. Never too young to get involved in the process.
Heck of a film Will! Thoroughly enjoyed watching it. So awesome to see what you and your family were able to accomplish. Definitely inspiring! Keep it up

@@Venture2Roam yeah dude for sure. You’re welcome! Like you I had a completely different view of what Nevada looked like until this video. The high mountain areas reminds me of parts of Colorado where I’m at. Looking forward to what your future has in store for you.
Idaho boy here! You guys had me locked to the tv last night. It pulled my (no interest in OL) wife as well. I see many of your next videos tricking out the Mojave.
Great vid. Enjoyed the middle part the most. Drove a lot of those roads when I lived in Round Mountain a couple decades ago. Pretty sure I turned around on that very saddle outside Kingston when my mother came to visit and I was showing her the sights. North Umberland had a herd of wild horses when I was there. Too bad you didn't have more time. Lots of other interesting things too see. Diana's Punch bowl it's hot springs and Belmont are worth the stop. Unsure if it's still passable, but the old stagecoach route from Belmont over Mt. Jefferson is/was pretty epic. I did it once in my ZR2 Blazer. They guys I passed on 4-wheelers thought I was nuts. Family time like that is priceless.
Ya I wish we had more time...I guess we'll just have to go back! Love those Blazers - we get those looks from 4-wheelers and SxSs too...love it. We actually did stop at Belmont, but I didn't film it..it was cool, but we didn't spend enough time there to do it justice with a camera. I want to do the stagecoach trail now!!!
Such a cool video, I think Nevada definitely gets forgotten/under rated and just not known enough, you guys really did great at highlighting such a beautiful and diverse place.
As a Nevadan I would never recommend folks just start driving through remote parts of the state. Quicksand, mud bogs, dry lakes that really aren’t dry, sketchy if any cell service, “roads” that aren’t roads but old wagon trails, private driveways, or abandoned trails, with willows that love to over grow trails, and sagebrush that loves to scratch your paint. It’s an amazing place to live, so much to explore just outside our back gate. But people who don’t know the risks often get stranded out here. In the north keep 775 off road & recovery website & numbers handy. 😊
Great tips! This is why the NV BDR is such a good route, even though it's not perfect. But it keep you on public roads all the way through Nevada. A relatively safe bet for folks looking to see this amazing state.
That Was A REALLY INCREDIBLE TRIP Youall Took, & It Made Us Want To,But Not Want To All At The Same Time, REALLY REALLY KINDA WIERD, Problem Well If We Can But Take Longer, That Had To Be SO BRUTAL, BUT GREAT JOB & WE Never Seen You Before But We Will Now 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you found our channel! I think this route deserves 8 days minimum...we skipped over a ton of places that would have been really fun to explore.
Great film. Thank you for making that and sharing with us. I know that's a lot of extra work in addition to just running the route. I just finished the Florida Adventure Trail this past weekend. It's cool going to those unexpected places and being surprised. Nevada looks amazing in it's own way.
@@Venture2Roam Thank you! I completed it with my father who's in a wheelchair, so that was a cool thing for both of us. Florida is definitely underrated. Some pretty deep water crossings and a good mix of sand, mud and dirt roads. More challenging than people think and is worth doing for sure.
Absolutely loved this video! I did the NVBDR S to N in November 2022 and never got to section 6 due to the snow and fighting time. It was fun reliving the trail without all the snow!🤣
The snow near Jarbidge can be really nasty. In late Sept we still had a few cold nights, but it was pretty nice weather all around. So glad you liked the video!!!
Thank you for making this video!! very fine production. however, a tip, Its way more pleasant to find a camp 30 minutes before sunset and have a good time. Stop stressing and go slower. Pace. I stop driving around 4pm.. I set up camp in the light not in the dark. Driving after dark is no fun. But this is a pretty video for sure! Sorry you drove the fire jeep. Crazy. Thanks Chuck. It was hard to convince myself to take out the camera after that..we were so tired…but those are some of my favorite shots from the whole trip.
Thanks for talking good about Nevada! I love the Ruby's. We sure do live in a beautiful area!
You bet. Nevada is incredible.
The wide open spaces really make you feel small and can help give some perspective on the daily grind. Live it up and get out! Great video.
Indeed they do. and Nevada is full of those types of spaces. Thanks for watching!
Especially the landscapes the desert night time 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!!
Great video! Really feel like you captured the moments and portrayed them through video. It’s inspiring to watch that and to try to get my family out instead of just doing this without them. Good job
Thank you so much! More family adventures coming very soon!
We were the first 4x4 vehicle to do the Wyoming BDR and we did it solo as well. We got stuck a few times as well. One tool that we took, which saved our butt is a PullPal. This allowed is to self recover in some situations where there was nothing else to winch to.
Great tip on the Pull Pal.
Yall had the longest & hardest travel of any BDR I’ve ever seen!! 😂😂😂😂I’d be tired & wanting vegas too!!
Not gonna lie...Vegas was awesome at the end of that trip! Thank you so much for watching!!!!
Wow! Epic trip and a great story! Being a Vegas native, it brings back memories of growing up in Southern Nevada. Thank you for sharing!
We love Vegas and the surrounding area...seems like there is an almost infinite amount of exploring you can do out there. So glad you liked the film!!!
@@Venture2Roam I didn't like it ..... I LOVED IT !!!!
Will, your drone footage is LITERALLY EPIC!
Thank you!!!
What a beautiful content! the script is awesome, the editing and the footage are so thoughtful. Thank you so much for putting out such well crafted work!
Thank you for the kind words!
Thank you!! Yes high plains drifter is spot on. It definitely brought Kate and I closer…can’t wait for more adventures like this one.
I've been waiting for a good neveda bdr overlanding video, and here we go
Right on. Let’s go!
Awesome to have all that money and effort to drive through Nevada.
Highways in some states, awesome too.
Hello from Caldwell Idaho.. Thank you for taking me on your adventure. I loved it. As far as pronouncing Pahrump.. it is Puh rump.. :)
2C in the House!!!! So glad you liked the vid..and thanks for the pronunciation!! I've been saying it wrong!
Nevada really blew me away too..I've never experienced anything like that before. So glad you liked the movie!!
Man what a trip and I’m so jealous you guys in the US have all this land to explore! Awesome!
Thank you! Ya, we’re so lucky out here…it’s incredible the places we can go!!
Great job on the video Will and Kate. Really felt like I was watching a movie. Day 4 - Really looked like home. Lots of terrain like that down here in CA.
Thank you so much! We really loved that part of Nevada/California...it's soooooo different from what we have in Idaho!
SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS. At work right now, but watching tonight 100% SO AWESOME WILL!! 🎉🎉🎉
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Can’t wait to hear what you think!
Definitely need to ride that one! Thanks for sharing!
It’s a fantastic route!
Amazing family adventure! And a real pleasure to watch...Need to watch it again! 🙌🙌🙌
Thank you!!! And yes please watch it again 🙌🙌
What a beautiful trip. The memories are priceless for your family. Awesome job!
Thank you so much!
Love this video! It was like a movie that I wanted to keep watching for hours 😊
That’s so awesome to hear!! More like this one coming soon!!
Love this, took me a few days to get through it but loved every minute of it. Love seeing an everyday family doing this and being so open and honest. I'd also love to see, wgat are your thoughts like a few weeks after, you know, once it's all behind you, just 5-10 minutes on what you and Kate and the kids think and how it was
So glad you enjoyed the movie!!! Kate and I will post a podcast talking about the trip. It's called The American Overlander Podcast.
The excitement of your camera person at 1:13:00 ish is hopefully catching for future generations of off roaders
Filming has become a family affair. I love that the kids are involved. With practice I’ll have a full film crew when I go out!!
Just echoing what's been said, the narration is spot on and entertaining. Alway excited to see a new video!
Thank you so much! Lots more coming soon!
Good video!
Thank you so much! We really enjoyed learning about Nevada and experiencing those places. Can't wait to get back out there!
Awesome video! I love your cinematic style and tension in the stuck scene. Great job!
Thank you so much!! So glad you liked it!
@@Venture2Roam still watching! It’s a nice trip and I’d like to get out that way someday and experience it for myself.
It’s super underrated as an off road destination. We’ll definitely go back. Glad to hear you’re still watching!!
Another great video and legendary family memories. Thanks for bringing us along.
Thank you! It was a heck of an adventure. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
This was an awesome adventure!! Great storytelling. Also we really miss Kettle chips.... lol
😂 Kettle chips are an Overland Only treat for us. I’d mail you some, but they’d be dust by the time they arrived 😂. Thanks for the comment…really appreciate it.
Such a great movie! Your storytelling just keeps getting better!
Thank you so much!!!
Absolutely loving you videos Will. Thank you for all the work you put into making these videos not only look amazing but are completely engaging and entertaining!!
I’m so glad to hear that!! Thank you for sharing!
This WAS AWESOME!!! 👏🏼 This film is legendary buddy - what an awesome way to capture this entire adventure! My absolute favorite V2R film yet. I’m going to be watching this again this weekend. 🙌🏼🙌🏼👊🏼👊🏼😄😄
Brooooooo. Thank you. Massive compliment coming from you.
Amazing adventure…. Definitely on my bucket list, thank you so much for sharing your family adventure, greatly appreciated! ❤️😊
Nevada is a great place to put on your list. So glad to hear folks are enjoying the family adventures!
Thank you! The kids are very involved throughout. We just don’t put them on camera very much for personal reasons.
Heck of a film Will! Thoroughly enjoyed watching it. So awesome to see what you and your family were able to accomplish. Definitely inspiring! Keep it up
Thank you so much!! We sat down as a family and watched it together last night..it’s a great memory for sure.
Great video! Thanks so much for sharing! I recently moved to Las Vegas and go Off Roading every weekend. This is such an amazing state! Glad you had the opportunity to experience it! Cheers!
There is sooooooo much to explore in NV. We barely scratched the surface. Hope you are having a blast out there right now!
Cool adventure in Nevada!!! I just keep racking up bucket list items watching your videos!
Thank you so much!
What an awesome trip, and a great place to end! Fantastic video
Thank you so much!!!
Magnificent cooperative effort, you two! Nevada was full of surprises! Wow! You're great storytellers and great photography.
Thank you!!
True! Wonderful…
I had no idea there was so much to see in Nevada, time to start planning another trip! What a great video, thanks for making it!
Thanks Ian. Nevada was really surprising to us too.
I really enjoyed. Thank you. I am moving to Nevada this month. You gave me a lot of ideas as to where I should go with my Jeep. Thank you!!
So glad you enjoyed it. Hope you have a blast exploring Nevada. We sure did.
Hey Will. You sure have came a long way. I’m super stoked for you.
Thank you so much!!!
So stoked to here it…especially from another Idahoan. So glad to hear your wife joined in…that’s exactly what we’re hoping to hear!!
I'm so excited to watch this. I'm 5 seconds in and I'm already pumped.
Right on man. It’s been such a long time coming. So happy to finally have it out there.
Such a cool video, I think Nevada definitely gets forgotten/under rated and just not known enough, you guys really did great at highlighting such a beautiful and diverse place.
Thank you so much!! Honestly I wasn’t sold on doing Nevada..it was Kate’s idea..but once we got into I was blown away.
Damn this was a good one!
Thank you so much!!
Great film. Thank you for making that and sharing with us. I know that's a lot of extra work in addition to just running the route.
I just finished the Florida Adventure Trail this past weekend. It's cool going to those unexpected places and being surprised. Nevada looks amazing in it's own way.
Congrats on the FAT!! That’s one I’d like to do one day.
What an amazing family adventure!
Thank you!!
Leave it to Will, to say, “I probably shouldn’t do it this way, but I’m gonna,” and immediately regret it.
😂😂😂 some things never change.
Well done to both of you! Well done. Video was a great watch. I love following your adventures. Now even I am sick of washouts haha!
Thank you so much!! Ya don’t ever make a drinking game out of the word washouts in this movie 😂.
Nevada is the most beautiful State!!!
It is an incredible place and I can’t wait to go back!
Crazy. Good job on finding those I grew up in northern nevada cali oregon, surprise valley california. My first camping experiences were out there in there parts of Nevada years,. 64-77 thank you again.
So glad you enjoyed the film! Great tips on taking slow. Sounds like you know your way around those parts!
What a great family adventure!! Wheeling with the wife and kids!.. if you ever make it to southern California definitely visit Joshua Tree national park, You will love it
Joshua Tree NP is definitely on my list. I have to say though...just over the border in NV, it was pretty great to have it all to ourselves!
Amazing movie Will!!! Great driving Kate! Keep up the awesome content!
Thank you so much!!
awesome vlog . nothing like a family road trip
Thank you!!
Excellent adventure. I have run a few of the trails you were on in southern Nevada. Many places to wheel in southern Nevada.
I feel like we just scratched the surface in Nevada.
Cool to see someone doing this in my home state, and I recognize some spots
Right on, glad you enjoyed it. Nevada is amazing.
@Venture2Roam if you ever do this again should check out Delmar, as it is an abandoned mining town and some of the shafts still have unused sticks of dynamite in them.
Well done 🎉 Epically Narrated and filmed ❤
Thank you!!
Great video!! Thanks for sharing this trip!
So glad you liked it!
Absolutely beautiful and Awesomeness adventure, keep doing what your doing guys Awesome channel, see you guys on the next adventure 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Thank you so much!!! Lots more coming soon!
What a great trip and video documentary. Thank you
Thank you so much, so glad to hear you enjoyed it!!! More to come soon.
