The Overland Movie is an abbreviated full length movie version of our 2020 series released last summer. If you're thinking to yourself "this should have been released as a series", then you're the reason I did this! UA-cam promotes the longer videos, which is why this was recommended to you! Consider subscribing to the channel so you can see the series as they come out.
This video is made possible and is free from commercial sponsorships thanks to our Patreon supporters. If you enjoyed it, or would like to get tracks/waypoints from this trip, go to / revereoverland
Drone flights were all flown strictly within the law. The drone was not flown from or into any national park land, any land managed by the NPS, and was not flown in wilderness areas. I am a Part 107 (remote pilot/commercial drone) licensed drone pilot.

June 2020 I left Utah (Mom's) in my 95 4Runner, after 3 months on lockdown and with a stimulus check having just put new 30×9½ MTs under my Yota, I went North to Montana (Home). A rooftop tent and a kilo worth of food, water, recovery gear and myself - I rediscovered what it is to be truly alive!
This might be the best thing I've watched in years. With so much negativity and propaganda on tv these days this was truly refreshing. Well done sir.
Agreed 👍 ty
Ditto agreed 👍
What a great adventure. Have not seen this video of yours before, but it’s got me yearning to get out again! Hopefully Death Valley for at least a week in January. Thanks for sharing the beautiful adventures.
I thought I’ve watched all your videos. I enjoyed this very much. It’s great to see the other part of Elizabeth as an active member of your overlanding activities.
This was my 1st time catching this video too.
You have created what I feel is one of the best UA-cam vlogs of the year. Beautifully created and edits to create a wonderfully entertaining story. Look forward to more.👍
I've always watched your "movie" on my 4K television so I've never had the opportunity to comment so here I am on my phone.
Your videography, narration and drone footage is over the top and inspirational.
I've seen your movie from beginning to end at least 10 times and I never tire of it.
I plan on purchasing the 2022 Tacoma when they come out in November then slowly starting my build and should have it overland ready by the end of 2022. I'm starting from scratch so it's going to take me at least 1 year to complete.
At 62 it's been on my bucket list for quite some time and your footage has been a major catalyst in starting this project.
Thank you for the content, it's captivating!
Watching this is like watching a 2 hour long commercial for Toyota, but I loved every minute of it. Great job.
It was a better Toyota commercial than Toyota could ever do. We were really impressed!
I really enjoyed your video and I will be waiting for the next one. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR SHARING FROM KENTUCKY
What fun would live to do this. Great drone footage thanks hi Elizabeth
Wow what a great video this is my second day I watched it yesterday and I'm watching it again today it's awesome
I have to say, this should be on a travel channel as an introduction to overlanding. What a beautiful professional job. We are just starting out and your trip served to excite us both about getting out there. I will be signing on. Thank you for the hard work in putting this together.
Awesome, thank you!
Commenting for the algorithm, this deserves way more views!!
The most beautiful video I have ever seen on yt, being yt addict. Mind blowing!!
Amazing job on this movie! As a teenager in the 1980s I had the great privilege of driving to Alaska from Florida for three summers with my father. We did it in a 1969 dodge van, so definitely no off road but did hit a lot of the areas you did. I did get to see the majesty of the west. Thank you for capturing it’s beauty so completely and honestly. I re-lived a piece of my youth through your movie.
Absolutely gorgeous! Very well done, indeed. This was so much better than watching 95% of the garbage on TV, and a good portion of what’s floating around on UA-cam. Thanks for the effort!
Not going to lie, I didn't want this video to end. So beautiful, nice job. Looked like an amazing trip.
i guess Im asking randomly but does anybody know a trick to log back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid lost the password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Caden Milo instablaster :)
@Ryland Briar i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Ryland Briar it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass !
@Caden Milo happy to help xD
Elisabeth stole the show while proving to be a fast learner her lines and intuitive routes were par excellence! Stay adventurous and safely patient, its all about the journey!
this was fantastic, at least until the end. Our country is sooo beautiful!! Thank you!
That reminded me of TX where you can anchor your winch to a foot tall cedar or mesquite sapling and your winch would break before they do. Tough conditions make hearty trees with strong roots. Not so different from ourselves.
You did an incredible job with this movie dude.
This channel and “the story till now” make the best content
Thanks! The Story Till Now makes some fantastic videos, and I've definitely taken some inspiration from him.
"The Story til Now make fanstasic videos.
I agree. Both are amazing!
Meh... just kidding, this was great. I've been camping/exploring every other weekend and it made we want to head right back out.
Yea both are great!
Incredible photography, thank you!
What a wonderful video!!! Thank you for sharing your adventures!!
Sparked a fire in me to get off the pavement for terrain less traveled. Escaping the crowds and the adventure is reason enough, but that scenery is just incredible. Fantastic job with all the elements of this video from the footage, editing, music and commentary. I'm impressed! You are truly road warriors and exceptional documentarians.
One of the best overland movies on UA-cam I’ve ever seen. Thank you for making this movie.
Beautiful! I can’t wait to go.
So nicely done! It makes me want to head west again! I’ll be living in the west by next summer! My 78 year old self needs a change of scenery. 🤔
Thanks to both of you for a very nice video
This is by far the best overland video I have ever watched. My wife and I are planning a similar trip this summer. I am building an overland trailer and getting my truck ready right now. We expect to leave NC in mid June for a 5 month trip going up into Canada around the Great Lakes, over to Montana and Glacier National Park, out to the West Coast, down into AZ for the Grand Canyon then pick up your route back to the East. I learned a lot from your video and appreciate your ability and information. I also read some of the other comments. My one response is - keep the music with the video. EXCELLENT JOB!! Thank You
Fantastic! thanks for providing this video journey!!!
How this channel doesn’t have a million followers is beyond me. The cinematography and soundtracks are fantastic! I follow Sailing Zatara and a couple other sailing families and this way of life seems just a fulfilling!
Just watched the whole movie beginning to end. Very cool!
Thanks for taking the time to make this and share it with us all, really enjoyed seeing parts of your country, Cheers from Australia
Amazing video, can’t imagine how long it took to create but you did a awesome job
This man really seems to genuinely enjoy airing down his tires. Added to things 4 wheelers say. "Some bodacious trails ahead, let's air down."
Just by that intro alone I knew this was gonna be phenomenal🔥
Every evening my wife and I watch something on Netflix, Prime, or a DVD. We decided to watch yours this evening and were so enchanted as we love the southwest. Great video!
I think you guys are my favorite outdoor travel channel. Very family friendly, excellent recording. Good job!
Elizabeth I’m so proud of you. There has been many trails I wanted to drive on including the coral sand dunes but didn’t because I was afraid of damaging our 4Runner. Proud of you. I need your courage.
Absolutely stunning footage, thank you! Gotta try and do a trip like this in our Tacoma. Scary moments there on the sand, well handled and TG for that new winch :)
First of all, CONGRATS for the superb views you shared, the excellent filming, the fine music you have chosen and of course the direction of the entire movie.
I do admire your patience to make the montage of 100s of hours to come to this result!
You are very lucky to live in a country so big having millions of miles to travel. Congratulations again.
What a wonderful story you both created. I am passionate about the Southwest having travelled extensively throughout since 1992. Although i know the Four Corners intimately, i clearly missed some areas that you've shown. Oldtimer Englishman reliving past adventures with you now I'm 80 yrs old. Wishing you well in your travels
I stopped going to my shrink. I just watch this. Very therapeutic!!!
I've been watching for 2 days now, whenever I can get some free time. I'm enjoying every minute so far. I'm laughing and getting exited on some of the places that I want to visit. I'm sure this took a lot of time to edit. Thank YOU! revere overland
Can't imagine the hundreds of hours that you spent on production and post-production man. Great job!
I’ll
I loved the scenery! I traveled to some of the locations before and this brought back those memories. Out of all the beautiful scenes, one was missing, which I looked for all through the video ... the night sky in the wide open wilderness. Next time, you should add at least one night view of the milky way. There is nothing like viewing the stars out west when you live in the light polluted north east.
Thank U for the footage of my previous neighborhood. I lived in Silverton Colorado for 9 years and those roads thru the Passes to Ouray and the Telluride cut bring back the best memories of my life. I has a 1970 International Scout back then and loved taking the long shortcuts as opposed to Hwy550 and other paved roads. I lived in Durango for several years as well ,, which is a cool town. Memories.
Thank You 🙏
ps. You should consider an ARB Air Locker for your front differential when you are towing that trailer in " Crawling " situations.
The Lockers are a blessing getting up and over tough articulation trails
What awesome adventures! Thank you for bringing us along. 💚
We have watched this a dozen times. Al
l the comments are spot on. So calmer and enjoyable to watch
Absolutely gorgeous! Very well done, indeed.
Oh how I wish I could add the appropriate emotion behind a “Thank you”. This was an incredible balm to my weary soul and senses. I don’t think anything else would have cut through the pain. I miss that space so much ❤️
Hello from East TN. NICE JOB! Can't wait to share this with my wife and watch on the big screen in HD. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure. We've always wanted to travel the west. This will inspire us! So glad you all made it safe and were able to make those memories!
My husband and I watch the entire thing from the beginning to ending and we are really grateful that we did thank you for doing this
This video just sparked my excitement and interest in visiting Idaho! Thanks for sharing all the amazing views!
The worst thing about this movie is how jealous it makes me!
Thanks!
Thank you!
Wow! Wow! Wow! did I ever enjoy that by a complete accident too. I was not subscribed to your channel nor had I seen any of your efforts. I left this morning to town to pick up a truck being repaired the last 2 weeks. I left with youtube on at 6:00 am. I returned at 9:45 walking in just as you began the drive off Route 191 at Shafer Trail Road. The flexible branch lol. The winch paid for itself. LMAO @ “how much do you love me?”…lol you two are the perfect peas of a pod. The shower tent..lol long canyon road hells… engineer pass..lmao shower tent II, “is it ready yet?”..LOL. That was it, this is where I stopped it and returned to the very beginning to watch from the start. I was certain by now I had missed to much. The total randomness of it playing for me based on my saves is so fitting. I will say the bugs is why I always avoided summer hiking. Having relocated from 100+ weather in summer in the Desolation Wilderness Tahoe Basin to -10 in Grand County Co. personally I am loving the cold. That was great rock editing for Andre...saving the minnows was great #effort. The drone footage was absolutely stunning and she did an amazing job driving. Shame you were not able to see Mt. Rushmore.
What I really enjoyed while watching was your music selections they were magnificent and especially those by Kevin Graham & Borrtex, Philip Guyler & Adrian Berenguer. I managed to save and build almost the entire playlist of approx. 60 plus songs, which if listened to in its entirety is 4hrs 50min. Seems so unfinished to me with tracks missing. I am hoping you can share the few I was not able to identify.
The first track I could not find either by title or artist began as you left Wyoming with the rest in Montana and Idaho.
1:04 on the way to Moab.
1:53 to 1:54 at the fork in the road.
1:55 through the rain to the tower.
1:59 the best sunset. I would really like to know this one.
2:06 in and out of the tunnel. I loved this track.
2:10 to 2:13 over the down trees the chainsaw and Andre’s puncture and Moose!
It is now 2:30 I enjoyed this immensely. I thought Ian Post was the perfect choice to finish. Thank you for sharing. I sent this to everyone I know would enjoy it and I have already begun routing some of the locations you shared to visit myself. My best to you and yours.
It's been 5 years since our last western trip...and since I've found your adventure I think this coming year will be our next! Great videography and storytelling. Thank you so much!
Fantastic video.. great driving especially by trailer man.. All the best. Sat and watched straight through.
Going to enjoy this one ☝️
That was awesome. This is the first time I've watched a youtube video this long and is breezed by. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! I was definitely worried it was too long.
One of the best representations of what Overlanding is... Incredible journey friends.
Thank you so much for this. As much as I loved the sights & being reminded precisely why I moved to Colorado a year and a half ago, the soundtrack is what kept getting me right in the feels. You absolutely nailed it putting this together. Thank you.
This is my favorite movie of 2020...for real.
Just amazing photography. Enjoyed every minute. Awewome scenery and landscapes
FANTASTIC! Thank you. Great cinematography, editing, everything was spectacular.
Wow, started watching this last night 3 minutes after it was released (UK time), got hooked, wifee too, and watched 1.5 hours
What an absolutely incredible video! The drone footage and the music were paired perfectly and made this film so powerful. Your narration was spot on in every way, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you as hosts. You have motivated me to start planning my first trip locally and I hope that someday I can take on the kind of adventure that you documented here. Please keep these amazing videos coming. Thank you and I wish you all the best!
Wife and I hit many of the same places last spring. We timed it perfectly and did White Rim trail the first day it opened after the lockdown. We did all five of the major parks in Utah and returned to Montana via Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Good call on bypassing Lava Mountain trail. You would not have made it even without a trailer.
Don't know how you do it but your always in focus and colour detail is spot on. Keep it up, very enjoyable 😊
Places I'll never be able to visit and your doing it for me.
Thanks 🙏
Well done! Very good balance of driving, views, techical, on/off road, drone, problem-solving....... My favorite Overland video!!
This movie made my day, thank you for that, much better than most of hollywood movies for saturday night !!!
Your experience as a teacher clearly comes through when explaining the features in Yellowstone. Great to hear such clear explanations of the features and locations.
Thanks for taking us along! Can't understand why anyone would bother putting thumbs down. Lots of great footage on here.
Watched the full movie this weekend. Absolutely loved it ❤️
Your video quality is top tier. Keep it up!Your channel and community is going to be massive here soon! I appreciate the great work!
This is thr best overland video I have ever had the pleasure to watch. Some of the scenes are absolutely breathtaking. Thank you for taking the effort to producing it. You have inspired many people to go out and explore all of these beautiful places in America. Well done!
I love it! You earned this sub and like!
Just started watching it... Thanks a lot just what I needed today... We have 40 mile an hour winds torrential rains and supposed to turn to snow... Thank you... Now back to the show....
One word. Amazing!
Great score and camera footage.
Very enjoyable film of your overlanding trip. You captured the scenery perfectly with use of the drone. Very skilled drivers coping with those rough back country routes. I've not seen a roof-top tent like yours before, very clever invention. Thanks for sharing your epic journey with us. Best wishes from England.
Awesome adventure! I love the desert and redrock landscapes. Excellent drone videos as well. Thank you for taking us on your overland journey.
Dear Rob,
Exzellent choice of music! Really emphasizing the beauty of these senic landscapes. Thanks for sharing 😌
Great video! Just spent 3 days over landing in southern Utah . Can’t wait to do it again but longer
Outstanding! Love the editing and how it all comes together! Makes me want to get in the truck and head out now!!
That can be arranged!
you are so lucky to live there, i live in the uk and am planning a motorcycle trip across america in 2023. i will be doing some of this great scenery. and this film you have made is nothing short of awesome and inspiring. thank you
Your dedication for excellent videography and undertaking that huge editing endeavor really shines through.
Bro this has got to be the coolest thing I've ever seen on youtube, and of course you're driving a Toyota! Really feels like a documentary. You better be posting another one of these next year.
Thank you! It took me so much time and effort to put this all together that I may stick to shorter episodes in the future!
Epic adventure. Spectacular film. Tons of work to make this and it shows. The most awkward overlanding couple on UA-cam.
I grew up in Sedona and went to Lake Powell all the time. Good seeing the footage.
Love this video!! Dying to do some over landing like that. Can’t wait! Amazing filming. 👍
Outstanding scenery ! Very Impressive ! 🇨🇦🌲 Looking forward to borders opening again ! Great story telling !!!
Outstanding! Thank You for those of us who can only watch the adventures of others.
Great video. Beautiful views! Thanks for the sharing this with us. I wish I could be there.
...WOW!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING THESE INCREDIBLE PLACES!!! IT LOOKS LIK A GREAT AREA FOR OFFROAD, DUAL-SPORT, MOTORCYCLING!!!...
I normally don’t usually watch videos this long. But it combined much of our travels over the years and it was so fun to follow you to all the places we’ve been to in only a few hours. Thank you!
Bad roads lead to nice places! What a great adventure and very nicely filmed. Contratulations!
Thank you 🙏🏻 for your channel. Great job! Can’t stop watching all of the videos.
FANTASTIC! I’m looking forward to seeing more from the two of you. I converted 2 vans into camper vans and have seen quite a bit of the USA. Yellowstone, much of AZ (as I lived there for a few years) a lot of the west. Thank you for this beautiful movie!
Great video! Outstanding! Can't wait to give Overland travel a try!
Enjoy!
