@@matthalpin1981You need to wheel it, it's a beautiful trail. I run it a couple times a year. There's a few other great trails here in California. If you come here you should try to hit them as well
Taken my 05 Tacoma with ARB lockers front and rear with 37” KM2, my rig went to Rubicon 7 times. With 4.88 gears, it’s not as comfortable smooth climb but a jerky climb like Aussie rigs. It definitely needs crawler gear like Marlin Crawler or Atlas to smooth craw like the “Mad Max” vehicle that you see there
The tracks are iconic in America. As it is all over the world. I am happy to see all the Aussies I watch come over and check it out. I really hope to go to Austrailia one day before I die. Good show guys!
@ConsiderFirstCnE yes indeed, if I ever get to go I would have to stay for a few months to see all the things I want to see. I have seen every one of the lower 48 states here and it took my entire adult life.

When Graham said it was the best day of wheeling he ever had I cannot explain the feeling of happiness I felt. From this Californian to all our Aussie 4WD24-7 friends - we can't wait to have you back! I have a 2 door Jeep YJ on 33s and I can't wait until I can wheel the Rubicon - I'll just need to carry a ton of spare parts with me 😜
Love seeing two different cultures come together showing each other our differences, just to do something that we both show love for and to have a laugh together. Wish I could have this experience in America 🇺🇸🇦🇺
This brought tears to my eyes. So happy to see ya'll having fun and experiencing the 4WD culture here with a lot to take back to Oz! And I hope we see some more canopies in the States now! Can't wait to see the Colorado/Utah episodes!!
This is one of the best movies ever made about Rubicon. They show how challenging and cool this place is. Guy on 40s make it look casual, but you guys showed how much fun you can have and how hard this place can be on a moderate modified vehicle. Would love to see someone make it on 33s and rear locker only and show how challenging it would be
I ran it two years ago with a guy in a Tacoma on 33’s with a rear locker. He did fine. It’s more about the line and driver skill. Slow and steady! 40’s seem a bit like cheating, it’s supposed to be hard!
You don't want to run a rear lock, you need a front. If you run just a rear you will have zero control, you need a front to help pull you through obstacles. I run 35's and I don't uses my lockers for a good portion of the Rubicon because I like the challenge. My sister runs 33's with lockers and she had no problems on the Rubicon.
Awesome trip guys. Love seeing our friends from Australia wheeling one of our legendary trails. The Great Mark Smith started the Jeep jamboree. The Jeeps started running the rubicon for actual trail use started in the fifties. Throughout its history Jeeps have been crossing in vehicles equipped with stock tires and even the Willys with military NDT tires. Any tire size can conquer the rubicon with the proper line and vehicle recovery gear. Not always easy but rolling over obstacles is no where near as much fun as working to get through the obstacles. So remember the old guys like myself have made it in stock vehicles. Goodday mates. After this adventure you’ll have some great pictures to put up on the pool room wall. Haha cheers
I've taken a bone stock willys jeep through it, no problems or damage at all. The smaller vehicles can take slightly different lines and get through spots that bigger vehicles have trouble in.
Never in my life has the thought come across for me to do some 4WD action. The past couple weeks I have binge watched your entire channel this looks spectacular! Seeing whats in the backyard here in oz and whats out there in the states! Definitely making me wanna get something together and get out there!Good on ya lads enjoy your time!

Great job boys. Good to see the Dirty 30 holding its own up against the big boys. Throughout this episode I couldn't help thinking Jessie & Jocko would be frothing on a technical track like this. You guys will just have to go back again next year and do it all over again with the whole team.
Have to say this is one of the best episodes in the entire history of the show. Everything was different, it was challenging, different vehicles, different landscapes etc. Just epic. “It doesn’t get any better then this”

Long time US camper - something we cook for dinner could be a: Chicken & dumplings - a pre-cooked chicken, pulled/separated in a pot, with carrots, onion, garlic, broth, and then a super thick pancake mix dropped into the broth during the in the last few minutes to make hearty biscuits. I have a locally famous recipe if you're interested! Otherwise, a low tech camping dinner could be "foil crud" (a loving term) - Alumnium foil wrapper with potato, onion, sausage, other roastable veg - cooked in the foil and turned until done
From what I’ve seen Australia is so beautiful Here in the States we have some of the best wheeling possible thanks to special groups that keep our trails open But hands down I have to say that the people of Australia are the most amazing. I have done the Rubicon trail give or take 15 times. I live pretty near there, I LOVE that you guys actually took it on. Crawlers have a problem, but some exploration rigs... That is a damn good challenge.
The sausage segment was absolutely hilarious. You all are fantastic and one of the best channels out there. Watching you enjoy one of our trails was just incredible. Brought tears to my eyes with your comments. Colorado next trip maybe. My doors always open for fellow wheelers haha Cheers

I’m so envious of you guys. I’m a 70 year young expat Brit off-roader, living 10,000 km (6,500 miles) away from where you are in California, in Romania - these last 20 years or so, and the tracks I do are really tame compared with what you do - but still I’d never be without my old trusted 80 Series manual diesel. I watch this channel regularly, as well as the US offroad channels, plus Matt’s offroad, TrailMater, FabRats and Merlin’s OSG +++ You all have a ball doing what you do, my face aches from laughing after every episode. Thank you all for brightening up my day with this stuff, 10/10 content, videography, your humor, the trails and the rigs. 🤣❤️🇷🇴

This was one of the most epic episodes I have ever seen. Bloody brilliant guys. Nothing better. Looking forward to the next one. 4WD24/7 need to do more of this. Come drive the trails in Africa. Van Zyl’s in Namibia, Baboons Pass in Lesotho etc. Happy to show you round 😜
Great episode! Awesome to see you guys enjoying the world famous Rubicon trail. I'd say you guys are officially rock crawlers now! Growing up wheeling in the CA deserts, we do a lot of hot dogs, chili dogs, steaks and flapjacks for breakfast. Carne Asada tacos are a go to as well! And yes, you can do the Rubicon on 35s, I think you mates proved that one!
U mates needed a couple short wheelbase badland bronco s. Not bouncing around a couple solid axles with a crawl gear and push button sway disconnect would grip alot better
I did the rubicon more than 20 years ago in an XJ with 32’s. Other than breaking a brake line on the gate keeper, I didn’t have any more issues. Got that line fixed and had the most amazing couple of days ever.
It'll be interesting to see if Aussie 4x4ers will change their attitude about how capable Jeeps are after this series. Even a highly modified dual cab ute would struggle on some of the trails my Jeep walks up effortlessly and all I've got is 34"s, 1.5" lift and some swaybar quick disconnect links. These things are unreal.
The rubicon is one of the must drive trails. I’ve gone through a couple times in my samurai when it was in 31’s. Seen it done on a lifted one on 28’s with no issue. The only problem you guys had is that high center of gravity with all that gear.
You guys are so much fun together! I used to live up a maybe road, crossing a creek three times. It was a go ahead road if the creek didn't rise, and the clay wasn't soft or ice wasn't bad. You folks learned quickly. For camp meals it was chilli con Carne, with sides of onion, sour cream and sharp cheader cheese, or fire Roasted potatoes, fried alligator, steak, and Caprise salad. Cheers!
Man I ran that trail 100's of times before and I feel the same way you do everytime I get a chance to do it. I no longer live in California now but I was smiling ear to ear watching this Awesome episode! Brings back alot of good memories!!

Thank You for taking us along for the ride!
New to your channel and really enjoyed this video! I did the rubicon a few years ago in a jeep on 33s so I can relate! After that trip I did the modifications to run 35s. It's a brutal but beautiful trail. It was fun re living it through your perspective as aussies. Happy wheeling!

What has impressed me, other than the sheer joy you all have expressed in this adventure, is the fact you did it in substantially smaller vehicles (suspension and tire diameter wise) WHILE loaded with camping gear and your normal loadout that created higher centers of gravity. I am from the southeastern part of the States and our off roading is way different than out west.
Look up Uwharrie National Forest in NC. The "hill people" as I call them have a ball on some pretty rough climbs. There isa whole trail network that is open to the public. Most of what my Tahoe is capable of is mainly sand and mild rock trials, nothing like you just did on then Rubicon.
Welcome to this side of the big ditch boys! Now, if you want to get REAL serious and into the back country, head 20 hrs north to Canada..! Where the moose are twice as big.
"a track for off road only vehicles" not at all !! there is PLENTY of street/daily driven rigs that make the rubicon trail every year, they are just built different in the US vs Australia, thats all

35’s on loaded overland rigs.
I can think of so many places they could go in US.
Welcome!
So glad y’all were properly taken care of on your visit here. We have our share of problems but what you experienced is truly who we are, a proud national of great people…much like your own I imagine
Both countries have the worst governments, infiltrated decades ago and want us all dead. It’s always good to see people still having fun, and good to each other. Us citizens need to band together and stay strong.
@@jimmylarge1148 Worst governments compared to what?
@mbsnyderc As in what they are vs what they say they are.
@@JSAFIXIT That's every government in the world most are much worse.
As a West Aussie who has traveled the world for 38 years I have to say every country has 2 things in common
1... every country has at ground level Awesome ,true, honest ,caring people !
2....All our Governments Suck, dishonest, lying, narcissistic , Sociopathic Scum,
Cabal of Criminals !
What a trip! Thanks for letting us tag along on this epic adventure!
Absolutely sick rig boys!
As an American who watches your content more than any other tv program, I want to say thank you for visiting our country and recording your 4WD adventures here! I cannot wait for more videos of you guys in the States!! 🇺🇸🇦🇺
Mate your trucks are unreal and that Rubicon track is absolutely stunning. Would love to visit the states ✌️
An it gets bigger. Next thing you know you're rolling on 42s, 4 linked, and struts taller than you are.
@@butcher2044 Likewise, would love to wheel in Australia one day.
AYE
As an Aussie that moved to the US and lives in South Lake Tahoe wheeling a Tacoma… this episode is surreal. Stoked you guys got to have fun in my (new) backyard!
Have you done the Rubicon Trail yourself? It's now on my bucket list but I am still in Oz.
LOL.
It definitely needs crawler gear like Marlin Crawler or Atlas to smooth craw like the “Mad Max” vehicle that you see there
I am a 4 wheeler in Sacramento and love the Tahoe basin and the El Dorado National Forest. Best 4 wheelin' within 90 minutes of anywhere.
Moved from the outback to the backwoods. Welcome!
I have seen every one of the lower 48 states here and it took my entire adult life.
enjoy what you have there . the restrictions on vehicles and access here make it a pointless pursuit to a large degree . Most of what you see these guys doing here is heavily frowned upon by the masses and government departments led by fools that never leave the city
We do love it when foreigners come over and appreciate and participate in our activities instead of complaining about them. I’m jealous that you’re there it’s on my bucket list. I hope you made it to Colorado and Moab. Those are my playgrounds.
As a Brit transplant to the US (25yrs now), I’ve always been in awe of your Aussie adventures. This has been a great reminder of how amazing the US is, and how much I love the PNW, as well as how much I take for granted. Thanks boys!
I'm so happy that you guys are having such a great time on this side of the pond. I wouldn't mind going to Australia and take the ol' tele track myself.
Mate... do it!!
I can feel hordes of Aussie 4x4ers heading to the USA already! You got me hook line and sinker, its on the bucket list! ❤🇦🇺
And here we say..."the Tele, $1k track in Tasmania, Simpson, etc... would be awesome to do."
Come on over friend, we'd love to see yah.
Move it to the top of your list, we would love to have ya! We will keep some cold ones ready.
Welcome…..🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸. A very remote area not covered here…Great Basin National Park and trails off into forever. Darkest skies in N America, can see whole Milky Way with naked eye….insane
I've been looking forward to this one and you boys don't disappoint. You've done us Aussies proud. Well done!
As an American that’s never seen a video of yours, this is so wholesome! I love to see this type of exploration from visitors I love
To see. Even domestic adventures of this need to happen more!😊
On ya mate
Hey that's my red Jeep gladiator at 2:38! I saw you guys out there but didn't get a chance to say hi. That was one busy weekend for the Rubicon trail! Glad you guys had a great time!
Love These guys! I‘m a German now 10 months in Australia and live in a 80 series landcruiser and they absolutely livin the dream🙌🏻 love Australia love Australiens & Love the Australien 4x4 scene❤️
Before i came to Australia i never heard of these guy’s…know i‘m the biggest fan✨keep wheeling mate’s
When Graham said it was the best day of wheeling he ever had I cannot explain the feeling of happiness I felt. From this Californian to all our Aussie 4WD24-7 friends - we can't wait to have you back! I have a 2 door Jeep YJ on 33s and I can't wait until I can wheel the Rubicon - I'll just need to carry a ton of spare parts with me 😜
Yes I was so happy for the man.
Have decent gearing it'll help in those yjs
Yep the Con is an awesome trail. I'm glad these guy enjoyed it.
American here, I'm so glad you guys are enjoying yourselves! You guys are the reason why Australia is on my bucket list!
Love seeing two different cultures come together showing each other our differences, just to do something that we both show love for and to have a laugh together. Wish I could have this experience in America 🇺🇸🇦🇺
It makes me so happy to see the smiles on their faces. I'm really glad the Rubicon was worth the effort.
The most intense 3 days of wheeling I've ever done! Incredible journey with some fantastic friends!
Couldn't have spent it in better company! 🤙
Would love to see someone make it on 33s and rear locker only and show how challenging it would be
My buddy brought his stock yj on 31, no lockers. He slowed us down alot but it made it though. It was.... interesting
Stock Jeeps make through all the time just takes longer with winches
I ran it two years ago with a guy in a Tacoma on 33’s with a rear locker. He did fine. It’s more about the line and driver skill. Slow and steady! 40’s seem a bit like cheating, it’s supposed to be hard!
You don't want to run a rear lock, you need a front. If you run just a rear you will have zero control, you need a front to help pull you through obstacles. I run 35's and I don't uses my lockers for a good portion of the Rubicon because I like the challenge. My sister runs 33's with lockers and she had no problems on the Rubicon.
@@timking2194to be far, most stock jeeps running the Rubicon have factory lockers and 33's minimum.
Can't tell you how proud it makes me as an American to see these boys crawling all over our country. God bless and have fun boys
This is WHAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR... Our Aussie guys doing the mighty Rubicon trail.
This is definitely on my bucket list... 👍
Still pinching ourselves!
I'm an American and you guys were the ones who got me into 4WDing! Now two Humvees and two Jeeps later its one of my favorite things to do. Thank you so much for coming to America and glad you enjoyed yourselves!
in aus jeeps are for 19 year old girls from the city
@@thataustralian4078 Wrangler is a low range weapon. No two ways about that.
You took me to places in my own country on this trip that I may never it to see for myself ! My age and military disability has slowed my adventures down some ! Thank you Mates for everything ! ❤️ it
Great job boys.
Just epic.
“It doesn’t get any better then this”
You boys really did this trail justice. Well done and happy to have you over here in the states!
Thanks mate! It was an incredible trip!
Your genuine excitement and enjoyment was a thrill to watch. One of the best off-roading videos I've ever watched. So glad you guys made the trip over here. I hope this becomes an annual trip.
❤
I'm 10 minuets in and I love your enthusiasm! It's reminds me of the first time I ever went off-roading, it felt just awesome. I love your attitudes too, getting stuck at the first obstacle and not letting that get you down.
Cheers mate! Absolutely loved it. What rig do you drive?
@@4WD247had a Wrangler Unlimited with a 2.5 inch lift and 35s. Unfortunately it was wrecked a few months ago due to an inattentive driver (not me). I picked up Grand Cherokee Trailhawk as a replacement.
As an American, I'm so glad you guys mentioned how great you liked the trail and showing how much you love the outdoors is so refreshing. Keep the memories folks! Also, I think I just posted the 1776th comment. 'Merica!
I am 3000 miles away on the east coast but I am still so honored that you are even in America! We're happy to have you and I'm sure I would feel the same way you do if I ever got to 4x4 Australia which is a goal of mine
So glad the boys from down under came to the states! Looks like yall had a blast. This video put a smile on my face almost as much as driving my Jeep. Love these guys! So glad America can lead the way with hospitality and how to keep trails clean. Great video!
Long time US camper - something we cook for dinner could be a:
Chicken & dumplings - a pre-cooked chicken, pulled/separated in a pot, with carrots, onion, garlic, broth, and then a super thick pancake mix dropped into the broth during the in the last few minutes to make hearty biscuits. I have a locally famous recipe if you're interested!
Otherwise, a low tech camping dinner could be "foil crud" (a loving term) - Alumnium foil wrapper with potato, onion, sausage, other roastable veg - cooked in the foil and turned until done
From what I’ve seen Australia is so beautiful
Here in the States we have some of the best wheeling possible thanks to special groups that keep our trails open
But hands down I have to say that the people of Australia are the most amazing. Beautiful culture. Amazing personalities. The greatest of people.
I absolutely loved this Thanks for bringing us all along for the adventure
It's nice to see Graham in a rig that's just as qualified as the rest of the trucks! Looks like you guys had a blast , this episode was top tier, shout out from 🇨🇦
I'm glad you guys had so much fun over here. There's lots of love between us and you Aussie's 🙏😞
My doors always open for fellow wheelers haha
Cheers
Great to see Tim back he has been missed
That was the BEST Rubicon video I've seen yet!
This was worth the wait, I'm so glad you guys made it there.
I can't wait too see how much Shauno packs it on the high trails in Colorado.
YEEEW!
Short of exact words to use but; doozy, epic, sick, awesome, not for the faint hearted, beautiful scenery, challenging, on the bucket list, clean, it’s just amazing coz I was literally making flex movements as the show was going on
This was my favorite segment on the Rubicon Trail that I have ever watched. I’m glad you guys had a good time. I’m looking forward to seeing the Colorado trip! I’ve done a bunch of those trails. Can’t wait to see your reaction to the shelf roads!
We're super keen to share the rest of the trip - it's going to be a good time!
I watch this channel regularly, as well as the US offroad channels, plus Matt’s offroad, TrailMater, FabRats and Merlin’s OSG +++
You all have a ball doing what you do, my face aches from laughing after every episode.
Thank you all for brightening up my day with this stuff, 10/10 content, videography, your humor, the trails and the rigs.
🤣❤️🇷🇴
On ya mate.
I'm sitting here after watching this with a huge smile on my face. This adventure, with the people in it, the views, the wheeling, the vehicles, is the definition of awesome. Great video! Keep on rocking.
I’m a long time viewer here in the States and have been waiting for this episode for the longest!! So epic! We hope to see more from you guys here and hope you enjoy our beautiful country!
So glad that you guys liked it so much. Can't wait to see the rest of your adventures.
if I had known you were here I would have tagged along.
I'm a sunshine coast boy, been in P'ville for 25 yrs , rolled the rubicon several times
I'm so glad you got to hang with the locals, the rubicon crew are an amazing group of dedicated people, doing great work
Good on y'all for being able to hit the premier US trail. The Rubicon is an amazing experience that will stick with you forever.
Ran this 2 years ago with a '96 XJ, a front locker, and 33s. Smaller definitely makes for a more fun adventure.
I'm glad you guys enjoyed your trip. I appreciate your enthusiasm for things we take for granted. Great video, great guys!
I have loved watching you guys drive the tracks in Australia and I am absolutely thrilled you got to come to the U.S. and see what we have.
Thanks mate!
I have toured most of Australia 🇦🇺 but it's my dream to go see the USA 🇺🇸 for the first time and couldn't imagine doing it any other way than in a 4WD....good stuff guys great to see 👍🏻
I have run the Rubicon 7 times now. It was a lot of fun watching you guys to through it and seeing the excitement on your faces. So very glad you enjoyed you time here in America and hope you come on back!
Literally, I watch all your travels, this is easily one of your best trips and vlogs ever, just to see everyone frothing, something different, absolutely amazing!
Awesome video boys!! It's great to see just Graham and Shauno back at it hosting again. I don't mind Jacko but sometimes the 3 personalities can get to be too much. I think Graham and Shaun just work so well with each other and their personalities really offset well.
that whole dialog around the sausage dinner has me in tears laughing! Love you guys and your humor! What amazing experience to take back home with you running the Ruby!

As an American, your genuine joy makes me very happy and I enjoy sharing in your positivity. Thank you.
Wow WOW WOW! This motion picture was incredible from start to finish. This guy really brings it with everything he does :)

@@theoldfirefly3978 reckon he's done it on a horse and cart!
The 30 felt so comfortable it just wanted to lay down and take a nap😂
Leave it to shawno! Soo glad yall finally made it over here.. WELCOME!
After this I'm guessing that America is about to get an influx of Aussie 4whellers hitting those trails.
Love the vid, keep them coming guys. Cheers
I'd like to see them take the jeep back and run their trails, they may have to go down in tire size though due to the laws there.
It is absolutely amazing watching you on trails we run! This trail is epic and this video was spectacular! You guys really catch the emotional roller coaster that is the rubicon. I’ve watched you so much that I run a front bumper cb antenna 🤣
Both. Tele track and Rubicon. Also so Glad yall love it boys. Im so stoked to see yall wheeling Merica. My favorite 4WD 24/7 action. Cant wait to see what you have next for us lads. 💯 Greating from AlaBama. (Say it like Forrest gump) 😂

Here in Minnesota USA if we’re up in the Boundary Water Wilderness Area canoeing or four wheeling out in beautiful Colorado our favorite dinner is Ribeye steaks cooked over a hot coal campfire then smothered in a Whiskey cream sauce and served with smashed potatoes, roasted green beans with sea salt and homemade bread to soak up that sauce!

Graham really IS an Aussie! He packed his roo pouch FULL of beers😂😂😂
At least he’s not stealing all Shauno’s for once 😂
ba ha ha
I've been watching Graham's videos for about 15 years now and that's hands down the best 4wd video I've ever watched. Frickin' awesome!
I was waiting to see the actual Cadillac of Cadillac hill. Yes, for those not familiar with the trail, there's an actual Caddy partially buried in rocks, hence the moniker, Cadillac Hill.
This is the best video of the Rubicon to date, and leave it to a bunch of Ausies to capture the true spirit of the ride. Great job guys, and thanks!
It's been 30 years since I've been on the trail, and I live here.

Three minutes in to viewing, I'm fully stoked for you guys, it may have been a logistical nightmare, but we thank you for the vicarious experience, you have given, good on you guys, top blokes.
Oh mate - thanks! It was a HUGE effort to get it all done, especially getting the 30 over there... but holy heck was it worth it. Enjoy the ep 👍
@@4WD247 Hey, used to browse the DVDS of this channel in the early 2000s, and dream of having a DVD player to watch them. Such an awesome episodes lads. If you ever get to another overseas destination - Iceland would be epic.
My Dad took a stock FJ40 across the Rubicon on 32s in the late 70s with open diffs… I hope to make it across once myself… it’s so much fun to watch people from another country see our beautiful country for the first time!!!
It was one heck of an adventure! What kind of offroading do you get up to where you live?
Look up Uwharrie National Forest in NC. The "hill people" as I call them have a ball on some pretty rough climbs. There isa whole trail network that is open to the public. Most of what my Tahoe is capable of is mainly sand and mild rock trials, nothing like you just did on then Rubicon.
Welcome to this side of the big ditch boys! Now, if you want to get REAL serious and into the back country, head 20 hrs north to Canada..! Where the moose are twice as big.
You guys are taking road worthy vehicles down a track for off road only vehicles. Which says alot about your builds and how awesome they are.
"a track for off road only vehicles" not at all !! there is PLENTY of street/daily driven rigs that make the rubicon trail every year, they are just built different in the US vs Australia, thats all
It's actually a unmaintained county road that requires reg
