My younger daughter just furnished most of her new (but old) house from the FREE section online. The town is fairly fancy, and owners are "We have an old oak dining room table and matching chairs, you move it you own it!" Also, this desk, that is heavenly, but HEAVY. Now it lives in the office room and when you have the roll top down, none of the drawers will open! (plus secret drawers). People don't want to go to the bother of moving anything, and the thrift stores won't pick stuff up.
Thank you George!! You are my favorite. And yes, there is nothing worse than a cheese burn from a fondue pot. I still love fondue though. Take care!! Tina
Oh George you are so funny. Burning yourself eating fondue 😀 every time I watch along I’m always laughing out loud. And as always the knowledge is so great. Thanks
I'm loving antique bird bath / fountains! Antique bells are nice to find too, I look for large Chinese temple bells that fetch $50+ depending on the design.
The first place you went, that dining table and hutch was sweet ! And that chrome and glass table was a great choice . I’m sure you didn’t have that in stock very long . Florida seems to have really nice estate sales . But I can see why, lots of folks retire there .
Hi George! Watching while I wait on the ambulance. I liked the portrait plate. I liked the Syracuse Maple Leaf dinnerware, but Salem China made a Maple Leaf pattern of which I'd really like to have a set. Some of the smaller bells interested me. I have a small bell that has a sterling silver cob of corn as the handle. Ambulance is about to leave hospital, so I'm off. Looks like it was fun shopping.
I really like Syracuse, such good quality! I rarely see Salem's version. I liked the small bells too, some true antique ones which was nice. A corn cob in sterling, that's great! I'm glad to hear mom's coming home.
That lacquered 80's bedroom suit at the end was amazing!!!!🤩 George , you are really a gift to watch. I honestly learn something new from every single one of your videos- so THANK YOU!! ✨
Wild George, I really like it when you go to the estates. Els, you see so many exclusive things that you never see before. And then they're some that it seems like did not just say that at the other sale. Glad to see you're cousin. Hope you guys are doing well be safe.😊😊😊😊😊
Hi there George, Alabama has warmed up considerably now. The flea market you went thru in Montgomery few weeks back, is having an anniversary sale this coming weekend!!!
Loved that "Real Old Willow" and also the Czech vanity set those were lovely. Thanks for taking me along for the ride. You have a wonderful day and safe travels
The long case clock may be a 18th-19th century Swedish piece. The clockmaker's name is certainly Swedish. The painted decoration is a characteristic feature of Scandinavian furniture from those centuries. A rather rare piece here in the US. At the right price it could be a great find.
Hi there George! It’s amazing how much antique furniture ends up on FB marketplace and in thrift stores. I’ve seen so many great deals. They are mainly china and curio cabinets.
You cant find people to work on them its mainly cleaning and sometimes the weights my husband has died but he use th build these and work on them and move yes you have to have someone that knows about clocks to move them he was always busy
Great video with you and Carl out shopping. I love stag horn ferns omgosh!!! Great sales, the furniture prices are low. With everything in stores priced out of control high, i guess now is the time to redecorate with estate deals. And the bells... def love the sound of bells and windchimes. How fitting you found the Christmas bells t o finish off the video!
The name of the grandfather clock Oluf Falk, the cross all points in the direction of Denmark. The name OLUF is Danish, the cross is a Danish knights cross (perhaps even Templar). But not much pops up when searching those criteria. Beautiful piece and I am sure a bargain price as I would think this clock is worth several thousand.
I'd never heard of you until I saw you in a couple of The Crazy Lamp Lady's recent videos. When this video popped up in my feed, I watched it because I had seen you in Jocelyn's video. Your vast wealth of knowledge is very impressive. Now I'm a new subscriber. Also, I'm a native Floridian now living in Sebring. I love the area but the thrift store options leave a lot to be desired. It's fun to see what nearby areas have to offer.
Cool! Thanks for checking me out, we'll have fun. I like Sebring but didn't find a lot in the thrifts there either. You do have that fun steam engine show with antiques though!
@@TheAntiqueNomad Oh, you were in Sebring! 😲 Most people have never heard of us. BUT... Sebring has just been chosen as the spot for the next season of HGTV's Hometown. I believe you mean The Flywheelers Club, which is actually in Fort Meade. That is a wonderful show, but I have muscular dystrophy and now that I'm in a wheelchair, I can't get over the terrain anymore. I have a lot of great memories from going there, though.
I'm a total estate sale junkie. I learned really quickly if I want something really bad to get theres really early and bring my charging back up, snacks and my tote bag to fill up. Many people are really cool at these sales but you get a few rude pushy people who think they can bully everyone to get what they want.
I used to live in Hillsborough County, Tampa area, for a good number of years and so am also pretty familiar with Pinellas County. PC has got some beautiful areas and St.Pete, as I’m sure you know, has the fabulous Salvador Dali’ Museum (a must see for art lovers) and the St.Pete Fine Art museum is very good too. I’m always sad about the takeover of Clearwater. I remember it “back in the day” pre C of S.
What great estate sales. So glad you got to help your friend. I noticed the old Iron at the estate sale home just before the Sherif Thrust store. Saw the old Iron had a couple at home in Prineville,Oregon used then for door stops. Thank you for Sharing. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
I have that exact stained glass lampshade (14:22). The lamp base mine is on is a little nicer IMO. And I have a matching torchiere floor lamp to go with it. I got them in the late 90’s and love them even though they’re not old.
Visiting Florida we hit the Key training centers prices were good but the Habitat restore and goodwill had very high prices. And this was in Citrus county. So stay away from the chains or expect to pay retail. Not good if you resell.
My Aunt lives in Sarasota and I remember driving by the Tom Cruise gates. Never knew they gave it away 😏 Is Carl your mother’s brother! I sure would love him to get that fabulous cabinet 😮. I appreciate you showing all the furniture. The teak piece was priced so low!! ❤️🐩
Carl is my mom's nephew, I tried to persuade him and if it had been just a little less curvy he'd have gone for it! I like showing furniture, it's a huge part of the Antique business that isn't emphasized by online shoppers because it isn't shippable
Love watching your UA-cam channel. I am learning so much good information ❤I will be visiting family in Cincinnati. Is there any good antique malls in Kentucky and Ohio close to Cincinnati thanks for your help.
Well that was a GREAT video. So many beautiful pieces. Let’s talk Staghorn ferns? Wow, I have never seen those like that. Too bad I can’t grow those outside in Indiana. lol
Corning Cornell was rampant in my family. My Uncle worked as an engineer in Corning Glass wear. He had carte blanche to all the glassware. When my all boy cousins decided they wouldn't let me play baseball with me I had sat through many a boring conversations about what he was working on at work. Things like how he made a coffee pot keep the coffee voter for a longer time. Why couldn't I have had a cousin who was a girl.
Once on spoon river scenic drive i was decribing the sattributes of a rocking chair to my cousin. I hzd heard its design on antiques road show. It had rabbit ears. I picked it up and carried to cashier. She said oh thats sold. I said how is it sold when im holding ot She said oh that lady just bought it. The lady was standing nearby listening to me describe it. Like? What? I wished her a broken toe when she tripped over it.

Thanks! I love old handbags, fun thing to collect
@@poollife777 Wow! Frog skin?!? I've heard of alligator skin and snake skin, of course, but never a purse made of frog skin. 😲
My sister's smile was priceless when she unwrap the Czech bell! ❤
The fireplace screen is pretty awesome!

I use fireplace screens as barriers in doorways to keep the dogs in their areas
Nice idea!

New to your channel. In Florida too👍👍where is the best place to find Estate Sales
With the wood box with the broken hinges, i have one my dad gave me and the hinges are broken too. What do you fix it with?
Hey George, did u pan right by Prince Harry , in the large thrift store? 52. ?
Well that was a GREAT video.
So many beautiful pieces.
Let’s talk Staghorn ferns? Wow, I have never seen those like that.
Too bad I can’t grow those outside in Indiana. lol
Zonga deals. Enjoy 😅
So I'm a little confused.... I would like to purchase something but not sure how to.

How much of the stuff in some of these so called "estate sales" is actually brought in by dealers to sell under false pretenses?
It happens sometimes, but honestly, I don't care where it came from as long as it's estate sale priced
