Wow, looks great! And I was pleased that whilst the video didn't make it look simple, it also didn't look hard. Particulary for how professional the final product looks
Nice work, turned out looking really good. I was going to suggest pocket hole screws, but the filler turned out looking really good with the contrast. Keep up the great work as the goal is to continue to inspire others to DIY and build something awesome!
Good idea for rocket hole screws, although I didn't have much time and wanted to minimise drilling and dust on-site, so this was the simplest solution.
I purchased them from my local hardware store. You can see the full tutorial on my website littleredindustries.com/renovate/2021/5/6/build-a-banquette-with-fluted-timber-detail

I live in bushland Australia where there is a very real danger of termites. It's essential to use treated timber for framing here. It is also a very open room all year round.

Thanks! The build is simple once the planning has been through through - working out how to manage the angles of the backrest was the trickiest bit.
This lady Slays!
Thanks!
Love to see women with such skill doing carpentry. 👏 very nice work👍
Thanks. Anyone can use power tools!
This is a good stuff! Hoping the YT algorithm finds you!

Wow!!!! That's an awesome use of half round cuts. I'll get creative with that. Thanks
Thanks! I love working with them.
Really cool thanks for posting!
This was incredible
Thank you!
Wow, Great work amezing 😊
Thank you!
Awesome job!
Love the cabinet idea...better space use and saves so much money and time to just buy those cabinets instead of make them.
Agreed. It saves a lot of time and money buying the sheets and cutting them down to make the cabinets.
I really love this. Do you have a link for the drawers?
They're flatpack wardrobe drawers from Australian company Multistore Solutions www.multistore.com.au/products/lsd-330/
Very nice details!
Thank you.
Hi this looks awesome. Do you have a detailed tutorial/ blog for us to understand?
Yes, you can see the full instructions on my website littleredindustries.com/renovate/2021/5/6/build-a-banquette-with-fluted-timber-detail
I need to make something like this, we have limited space in our home. This would make life easier
to design it, start with sourcing the drawer cabinets and work you measurements around them
This is great! What is the saw and guide you use for the 10 degree Bevelled cuts?
I used a Festool track saw but there are other brands like Ryobi.
Great work! What kind of wood did you use, and what kind of varnish?
Hi, I used Tasmanian oak panels and dowel from my local hardware store. The varnish is clear, marine-grade called Monocel Gold.
Nice work... You're channel is gonna blow up with stuff like this
Thank you.
Ummm.. this is amazing ….
Thank you.

how much does something like this cost to make?
At the time, about $1k Australian dollars, with the half-round dowel costing the most. But better than buying dining chairs!
Hey, I want to build the same at my house... could you give me the name of the cabinets so I can find them, please

Great job...treated lumber is for outdoor use only, it is cancerous for indoor use because of the chemicals it emits into the closed environment.
I live in bushland Australia where there is a very real danger of termites. It's essential to use treated timber for framing here. It is also a very open room all year round.
As long as it does not come in direct contact with food or bare skin, it’s fine to use inside. The chemicals used to treat it are not airborne.
That hasn't been true of treated lumber for 20 or so years. It can be used inside.
