What a nice job you made!! I'm mezmerized with the whole process, can i ask what's the dimensions on the pieces you cut for the tambour door at @5:28? thanks and greetings from Chile!
I'm impressed that you sewed your own slip for the cushion. (I've just put the cushion on a backer board and pulled the fabric down and around to that). Nice job on the tambour.
exceptional work as always! i watched this then the theatrical edit and the fact that that was uploaded two weeks ago but links at the end of this video made it very interstellary
Impressive work. But is it so convenient when you need something from the far right that you have to slide the tambour door complete open? I think I would have built two and split in the middle, although a single one looks better. Greats from Germany, I am inspired and impressed, thanks a lot. 🙂👍
Thanks. The reason for the one door is because there are quite a few electrical connections coming off the wall on the left which need access to so having a door curve around the left cabinet wouldn’t work.
I've been missing your work. It's been far too long. You should team up with @ScottBrownCarpentry for his house Reno. It would be like a Kiwi UA-cam super group.
Amazing work, congrats! I would love to have more details on the stuff you use for the matress. Do you have references for buying the fabric/foam? Also I wonder, do you think the foam is good enough to serve as a guest bed? Anyways it looks very cool thanks for sharing your work!
Really good job ! looks so good and clean ! Quick question . what is the fabric you used for the door ? Is this a special tissue for wood glue application ? Thanks
How much does plywood cost in your area? And what measurements are of the entire plywood sheet you bought? The way you handled this project is just a sight for sore eyes. Well done! This is my first video of yours that I am watching. I am impressed!
That is a valid point and I contemplated that for a while. I thought about putting the handle in the middle but I didn’t want to break up the look. But fortunately it is easy enough to open from any point by the friction of your hand and pushing it open or shut.
Hi I don't have plans sorry as this was very specific to my needs. If you want more details into the tambour mechanism I recommend checking out Michael Alm's videos on tambour doors as he goes into a lot of detail!
You can't imagine how nice it was to watch the whole process! It's a pure thrill! Kind of a miracle! Meditation!
Thank you for this video!
Came by this video randomly. This was mesmerizing. 👏

Absolutely love this. Window bench seats and guitar racks are two of my absolute faves, and this bench seat is gorgeous and functional.
Thank you!
I like the way you did the audio for the timelapse.
Respect!!!! That’s a really nice and thoughtful build! Thank you for sharing.
Woah nice job Tim! So satisfying watching that Tambor glide around . My favourite moment was when you whipped out the sewing machine 😅
Cheers Scott! That was definitely not my favourite part haha. Maybe you enjoyed seeing me struggle with the sewing machine 😅
WOW! Pro carpenter skills and upholstery work is great too.
Thanks!
Insanely good! Makes me feel so beaten when i work in a big cab shop and you produce this magic from your garage!!
This is oen of those inspirational videos that make you feel like you can replicate this only to be whacked with reality when you try. Awesome work!
Haha you never know until you try
Dude, standing applause!
Your radius jig is awesome!
Thanks!
That is magnificent
You've made a lovely space. The simplicity of it is calming. The guitar rack is very cool too.
Thanks! Calming is a great description. It’s also my new favourite napping spot. And yes I’m really happy with how the guitar rack turned out.
That's a beautiful piece of furniture you have built. Bravo!
Wow this turned out incredible!
Thanks Matthew!
So satisfying watching it slide tho
Ridiculously nice! WOW! I hadda feeling you were getting into more elaborate stuff. Beautifully done!
BEAUTIFUL. Beautiful, beautiful , beautiful 👏🏼
loved to see the different angles of the sliding door, thank you and great work!
You have mad skill! My respects!
What a beauty. Turned out great
This was great inspiration for my naked window! Now i just need to get all those skills :-)
dude sewing machine?! that's awesome
Haha thanks!
Only thing I would suggest is edge banding. Awesome build!
MAGNIFIQUE, JOLI TRAVAIL
This is very good. I might make one in my living room!
I'm impressed that you sewed your own slip for the cushion. (I've just put the cushion on a backer board and pulled the fabric down and around to that). Nice job on the tambour.
Nice build! I planning on making one of my own. I would have split the tambour up in two halves instead, and made some sort of backrest.
Excellent job.
this is so rad!!! i want this in my home lol
Very cool and clean design.
This is nuts! absolutely bananas. Really inspired work. Bravo 👏🏽
No, its wood! 😛
Good job 👍
Impressive
amazing! From the wood working and even sewing the cushion!
Beautiful workings
Amazing design and build
Beautiful work, very inspiring
Thank you!
HI, really nice job ! and well done for this beauty the Tambour door not easy to make, need some accuracy ! TY for sharing !
This is truly awesome buddy... there so many ideas I'd like to borrow in just one video!!!
Thanks! UA-cam is all about sharing knowledge and ideas
Absolutely awesome - a real pleasure to watch you skills and the assembly of the video itself - well done - 11 out of 10
Too kind! I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I did making it!

How you managed to dodge the pocket holes @2:15 👏🏼
Beautifully inspiring work! Makes me want to get off UA-cam and get in the shop! 😁
Thanks! Haha I did take the screw out just in case then put it back in afterwards.
that is very cool. nice one.
😍😍😍 Whoa epic build. What a ton of work. Excellent build quality. Room looks fantastic! Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🙏❤️
Thanks! Mahalo!
I fedl like im watching the Sims. I made it more fum by watching it at x2 speed!

@@TheOffcut Sounds logical. ☺️👍
Very cool
Excellent!!
Really cool!!
So amazingly cool!!! Great build!
fantastic work! and yet, its real. bravo yo
Thank you very much!

Thanks! It’s good to be back! Haha I’m ready when you are Scott!
キーボード収納良い!欲しいです!
Grandios !!!
Absolutely incredible. And no paste wax in the door groove? Friction w/o wax isn't an issue?
thanks! I did wax the ends of the tambour pieces but not the track, it runs very smoothly, enough to push it and it will continue to slide on its own.
Nice!
I love it! Very cool. Was the tambour door made with wood glue ironed into cloth??
Correct!
Muito bom, parabéns! 🇧🇷
They should have an option for "Tambour Door" in white noise apps
😅
Amazing work, congrats!
I would love to have more details on the stuff you use for the matress.

Long time no see, my friend!
Good to be back!

The way you handled this project is just a sight for sore eyes. Well done! This is my first video of yours that I am watching. I am impressed!
Thanks very much. This is oak veneer on Baltic birch ply, it’s about $400NZD and size is 2440 x 1220mm
@@TheOffcut Wow you succeed to do the whole project with only 1 sheet :O ??
Amazing job. Would u be kind to share the dimensions of ur bench please? Thanks
the only issue (first world problem or my laziness maybe?) i see here is i have to open the door all the way just to get to the right side storage.
That is a valid point and I contemplated that for a while. I thought about putting the handle in the middle but I didn’t want to break up the look. But fortunately it is easy enough to open from any point by the friction of your hand and pushing it open or shut.
@@TheOffcut yea two seperate slides that meet in the middle; I have no doubt you could still keep a clean, smooth look.
Or maybe store seasonal things on the right, that aren't for every day use?
Great work, impressive! +1 ask for blue/green paint color (RAL or something else) on the left side wall. Thank you!
Thanks! The colour is green meets blue but Resene
@@TheOffcut thanks for help! doing big renovation right now, looking for good colour 😁(2nd colour on your wall good too, beige or similar?)
Victory Nap!
Beautiful work as always!! What color blue paint is the wall to the left of the bench build?
Thanks! The colour is Green meets blue by Resene
@@TheOffcut thank you!
what kind of plywood is that? It has nice tight layers, but the grain doesn't look like Baltic birch.
It is Baltic birch with oak veneer
Always enjoy watching your vids
You have a great eye for design and a good grasp on lateral thinking
Nothing but good things ahead for you!
New Offcut project = snap like
12:40 nice hack
Epic build!!! Where did you get the plywood from?
Thanks! It’s from a company called plytech
what kind of glue dispenser is it @7:55 and where can i get one :D seems handy
found it :D Rockler 8 oz. Glue Bottle with Glue Roller as an european, we are not familiar with us gadgets that much ^^
Haha glad you found it.
Did you cut out a "mary had a little lamb" type piano rendition at the end?
Close! ua-cam.com/video/nxmovZ0hY60/v-deo.html
came out very nice. I would have liked to have seen you put on edgebanding. the devil is in the details but nice project either way.
Thanks very much. I prefer to keep plywood edges exposed. Given that it’s Baltic birch, it would be a shame to cover it up with edge banding.
Is that a MUJI floor chair? How did you get one in the US?
Yes it is. I’m in New Zealand. I brought it back from Japan
@@TheOffcut Why did I think you were in California? I must be slipping. Great project!
@@kyleadammason I must give off Cali surfer vibes 🏄♀️ 🏄♂️ 🏄
Is there plans for this for sale?
Hi I don't have plans sorry as this was very specific to my needs. If you want more details into the tambour mechanism I recommend checking out Michael Alm's videos on tambour doors as he goes into a lot of detail!
You've done so much work but dude, that white spot in the corner. Seriously? It looks strange because there is work for 5 minutes((
bro forgot to add music to the video
Oh it’s here ua-cam.com/video/nxmovZ0hY60/v-deo.html 😛
why so many plants...
You’ll have to ask my wife….
