And I’ll say this often times I binge watching it and the other day it turned off everything and I said to myself with my kids and I on the porch during summer, look we have our own beauty to enjoy as well. Funny story...... Went to take a kiddo to taekwando and the cocoa butter was sitting on the floor in a box wrapped very tight, I might add. Came home to a torn up box and the bag torn on a corner. :/ I'm sure he didn't eat anyway but man I bet it smelled amazing. You were right, it does smell so good. :)

    Love this 💕 can’t wait to make it. I’ve made a coconut oil shea butter lotion from Pinterest before and used it on my son’s eczema after the steroid cream the Dr recommended didn’t work. Thank you for sharing this! I love it! I used a stand mixer and it seemed like really thick frosting after whipping for awhile. I put it in glass jars in a dry closet and they kind of hardened a bit...at room temp. Have you had this happen? Do I need to whip it for longer or maybe it was in the freezer too long? Wondering how to do it better next time. Even with the consistency not being awesome, I am using it...it is awesome as a diaper rash cream(gone by the next diaper change), and has helped even to make scratches on my young boys heal quicker!

    i made your body butter tonight with a couple of modifications. I subed Jojoba Oil for the Olive Oil and added about 1 TBS of corn starch toward the end. I love the feel, nice and silky but didn't realize how overwhelming the smell of the Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter would be. I added several drops of Neroli eo and Lavender eo. I'll probably go through this very quickly. Do you have any RECOMMENDATIONS for which essential oils would work nicely with the two butters?

    Just made this today. I used orange essential oil to go for a chocolate orange scent. I found the shea nut butter that I could find had a very strong nutty smell. Not sure if I like it. I used virgin shea nut butter. Any thoughts?

      I don't mind the smell but I know it's not pleasing to everyone. You can just add more essential oils if you would like...

    Are you able to add a little of mica to this for some color? Or does that stain the skin?

    I’m so excited to try this out! I’m buying the ingredients now, but am having a hard time accessing the link for the cocoa butter. It keeps showing up as an error when I click on the link. Can you tell me the brand or name of it too? Thank you for all that you offer! It’s been so inspiring to me!

    Hi Lisa! I would like to add some aloe vera gel to make more of an after sun lotion. How much do you think I could add, lets say if I'm making 1/4 c of each of your ingredients? Or do you have a recipe of an after sun lotion or spray? Thank you!

    Hey Lisa, what is the shelf life of this body butter, it can go like this for a year or do we have to add any preservatives ??

    • @FarmhouseonBoone
      @FarmhouseonBoone  Рік тому

      You would go by the ingredient with the shortest shelf life which is the olive oil with a shelf life of apron 15 months...

    Loved this video! Just curious -- do you have any nice smelling essential oil combinations one could use as an addition to this recipe? I love the idea of essential oils, but I'm not a fan of lavender or citrus scents alone and I'm not educated in essential oils enough to know how to make say a "fresh laundry" or "warm vanilla" or other nice neutral type of scent with an oil mix.

      I'm not sure about fresh laundry scent. I will have to experiment around with that. As far as vanilla, you could add 100% pure vanilla extract!

    I have a farmers market business and I want to incorporate some thing from my garden into this. Could I use Marigold infused olive oil or calendula infused olive oil in this? To sell it I would really like it to be some thing from my own garden/mini farm and since I can’t grow olives or avocados or coconut it seems like that’s the best option ha ha

    Hello Lisa, I enjoy your videos so very much! I will be making the body butter. I was wondering about your mixer. I have never seen one like that with beaters at the bottom, what make is it?

      I have a Bosch. amzn.to/2kt3c7s I like it because it has a dough hook and can knead bread dough.

      Thank you Lisa for your speedy reply! I have a Kitchen Aid and I love it for a-lot of reasons. Your Bosh is nice because there isn't a motor in the way when you are putting ingredients in the bowl.

    Since the olive oil isn’t brought up to its smoking point, does it go rancid in the body butter?
