    When you said I hope you make it and sell it!!!!!!!!! I was like Wow she’s a real one. So many people never want to share because of fear, but what we don’t realize is that our gift will make room for us…… We will always have opportunities to make money & get money we prosper more in life weather Health or Wealth when we share because we have our hands open to receive not closed cause we don’t get much with a clutch fist. Each and everyone of us will reach people that others won’t so no one is stealing any clients or anything like that. God Bless you❤❤❤❤ and Thank You

      Amen, my sistah❣️ A closed fist can neither give nor receive! People will tell you they made a million $$$ but won't take you by the hand and show you how to do it. I guess they'll take it to the grave to be buried with them. Never allowing that tree to flourish on the earth. Or they will but it is monetized! Kudos to you Walnut Creek Bath Boutique for breaking the mold❣️

    This looks luscious, I might make this one, Mango butter and all butters are soooo expensive here in New Zealand, the last butter I made which was more shea less Mango worked out to be $21 a jar to make, that's crazy! I think I will just make it for my family and not sell it. Thanks for the recipe and congrats on making 400 now!

      Aww, thanks Tanya! I appreciate that! I have a trick if you can't get pumpkin oil - the trick is to go on to New Directions website and search any ol' oil you want to use. They have a great section that will tell you the absorbency of most oils -
      here is what it says about pumpkin: Absorption: Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil is readily absorbed by the skin.
      So any oil (or butter) that you want to swap, check here and if it states "readily absorbed" you should be good to swap for a non-greasy formula!
      Good Luck!💗

    Thank you for this tutorial with recipe. I love mango butter too, plus I add a little kokum butter and arrowroot powder to mine to help counteract greasiness. I was wondering if you could explain why it went back to the fridge so much.

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  3 роки тому +12

      Thanks for watching Debbie! Oh Kokum butter sounds lovely! I have some but only used it in shampoo bars. It went back into the fridge so often because that is something I saw Marie at humblebee and me do for a lovely final texture. I find that it holds the fluffiness better when put in the fridge. She actually whipped it every 10 min, but as my batch is so much larger I put it in closer to 30 between whipping.😊

    Have you ever just used arrowroot to combat the greasiness? If so, what are your thought on using arrowroot? Is it good for your skin or does it make any difference?

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  Рік тому +2

      Hi Diana! I did use arrowroot powder the last time I made this (I think it was at 1%). I may have noticed a bit of a difference and I may include it from this point on as it is really good for skin. It is especially good for irritated skin. It also help moisturize skin. It really is a win win 😊

    I never heard of pumpkin seed oil. I'm going to try that. I heat my mango and shea in the sun during warm months and cool in the fridge before whipping. Seems like I had grittiness when I used the freezer...not sure if that was the reason. Thank you so much for your channel. It's great!

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  Рік тому

      Hi Cora! I'm so happy you found me!! Thank you for your kind words! What a great idea to heat your butters in the hot sun! That has to be more gentle than a stove or microwave!! I use the freezer because my batch is usually too big to do much in the fridge, I'm not sure if that would cause graininess or not though. Those butters sure are picky LOL (give that pumpkin seed oil a go, I think you will love it!!) 💗

    Hi Tammy. I’m back!! I tried your recipe with one exchange-pumpkin for argan. Just like you said, our skin behaves differently and do my research and see what my skin likes. (Think that was a different video but your advice-which is spot on.). That was my first attempt. Made 6oz. Lol. Used it all. Batch 2: added one tiny tweak: a wee bit of arrowroot powder and for me, that was the magic! I only make enough for me (hobbyist) and I love being in charge of what is in my soaps, lotions and butters. Thank you again for being so gracious to share your recipes and fun as you make your items. PS. You are so lovely on screen and well, to me-you are so knowledgeable and a pro! And the best part, relatable! Someone I would love to share a cup of coffee and share laughs over the adventures of getting items in. USPS has sent my boxes (small ones) to every USPS PO Box but mine. I do feel for them-the pandemic has trebled their work. Again, all the best!

      Oh I am so happy you are liking the recipe!!! I like you Argan switch! I have actually thought about adding a bit of arrowroot powder to my next batch. I kinda love it as it is but I'm also one that is always thinking "I could make this better" LOL
      I appreciate your taking the time to give me such encouraging words - that really means a lot to me. I actually feel the same way when I am talking to you guys on camera - I'm just gabbing away like we are sitting there figuring things out together. good luck!

    I am new to body butter - in fact I haven't made it yet, but I like the sounds of this formula! I have a friend who prefers regular body butter as opposed to "whipped" body butter. Can you tell me the difference between the two? I have searched the web and cannot find an answer. This is a learning experience for me! Can this recipe be used as a regular body butter instead of the "whipped" version? Thanks for whatever help you can give me!

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Marylu! That's a great question, honestly the only difference (as far as I know) is literally as you would think. One you whip, this puts air in the product and gives it that fluffy almost spongy texture. For a non-whipped butter you would let it cool somewhat and pour into jars while still in the liquid form. This gives the butter a much firmer texture. Then you have some people that call a cream an emulsified body butter, this is more like a lotion in texture. Yes, this recipe can be made without whipping! I haven't tested this so if you make it like that I would love to hear what you (and your friend) think!😊

      Well, if you look in the description box the percentages are there for you to scale up or down. If that is a little confusing (I couldn't do that without a software - me and math - we don't like each other LOL) just take the amounts and keep dividing by half until you get to the size you are comfortable with. Good Luck!

      I would suggest lowering your butter % and increasing liquid oil just a bit at a time.
      also some butters will set up harder (kokum is super hard while shea is super soft
      the good news is it is easy to melt back down, adjust, and then start over - good luck!🤗

    Tammy, So looking forward to trying your recipe. I have one I use but it is always great to try new things, you might always find something you like better. If you add a few tablespoons of tapioca or arrowroot starch to your body butters it really helps with that greasy feeling. It doesn't seem to affect the consistancy or texture. I also find it takes a few days before you notice the effect but just a FYI. Congrats on your subscribers. You really are so bubbly and sweet it is like spending time with a best friend. Thanks for sharing Tammy

      Aww, thanks Janet!! That is so sweet of you! I have thought about adding a starch but really I just don't see the need for it. I have also thought about adding some stearic acid because the melt point on this recipe is pretty low so shipping in summer or outdoor shows is out for me...

    I just now found your channel and this older video popped up on you tube. This is very interesting. How long will your products last? I watched another video of a lady making chamomile lotion and she said she added a preservative because otherwise it wouldn’t last very long. Thanks for sharing how you make this. I’d love to try making some.

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  Рік тому +1

      HI Pam! I'm so glad you stopped by and watched my video! You don't have to add a preservative to this recipe as there is no water added. Also there is a low chance of water being introduced to the jar with wet hands. This jar will last a good year, but that also depends on how old your oils are. Vit E is added to help the oils/butters from going rancid too quickly. Let me know if you try it or if you have any other questions!

    Thank you so much for your help! I've been having so much trouble coming up with a recipe, either too greasy or grainy 😩I was wondering if adding powdered goats milk make it grainy or what are your thoughts? I read many great benefits from it as well!

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  Рік тому +1

      I don't think I would add it goat's milk. The powder would not do much for the skin unless it is reconstituted in water (in my opinion) and then you are looking at a lotion situation instead of a butter.

    • @bluecindy15

      Because it's mango butter does it need a preservative? Have you ever had issues with mold? My second batch got moldy so not sure if it was due to condensation on my end.

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  10 місяців тому

      @@bluecindy15 I have not had issues with molding. I don't think the mango butter makes a formula need preserving. I will say that since making this video I have learned that we should not put hot ingredients in the fridge/freezer. The condensation can cause problems. I now let my mixture cool down close to room temp before putting it in the fridge. I think one of the things to watch for is that not cooling quick enough can cause shea and mango to go grainy. I think next time I might just add it to an ice bath. That way it cools quickly and the condensation can go into the air and not back into the bow.
      Hope that helps!!

    I must say that I was surprised to see ‘organic’ Pumpkin Kernel Oil come in that plastic bottle. Looking at the volume of your supply you must be fortunate in the States for it not to be too expensive. Here, a good quality, pure Pumpkin Kernel Oil, I last saw, would set me back $67 for 500ml in a dark glass bottle. Great stuff! // Well done on abandoning the use of colourants- the body doesn’t want or need them. How about rethinking the use of ‘fragrance oils’ - they are neuro toxins. Pure Essential Oils are extracts from the benevolence of Mother Nature Herself and used with respect and research are by far more beneficial and enjoyable than any synthetic creation by man. 😊

      Hi Sneha! You can really use any oil that you prefer. I try to make this as non-greasy as I can so I would choose an oil that has a fast absorption rate. If you check out new directions website they have a really good section on their oils and butters that will tell you if an oil is fast absorbing or not. It is my go-to for that info. - here is a link to show what I mean, scroll down to the absorption section: www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/products/carrier-oils/pumpkin-seed-organic-carrier-oil.html good luck!

    Hi. Is there a substitution for pumpkin seed oil? I do not care for the dark colour or scent. Sadly I am migraine prone and certain scents trigger migraines. Would jojoba or argan oil be a suitable swap?
    Thank you for the lovely recipe! Best regards.

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  2 роки тому +1

      Hi RT - for this formula I would say any fast absorbing oil will be a good replacement - I love to look at New Directions for this info - I checked argan and here is what it says: Absorption: Absorbs into skin at an average speed, leaving a slight oily feeling on skin. I prefer to have oils the state "readily absorb" but if you are good with a more oily end product it would be fine to use. Hope this helps!😀

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique

      Yes! it is very soft and spongy! But this has a lot to do with how long you mix it. It can be tricky- no enough and it gets pretty firm and hard to "scoop" . Too much and the butter will deflate over time leaving it looking odd in the container, like you shorted someone on product. (I've done both!😆)

    You mentioned that Shea butter is grainy, well, if you over heat that butter it will be grainy. I would suggest you wait to add the Shea butter AFTER you have heated the other oils, so to no overheat it, and let it melt gently.
