- I am no longer in sales, so please feel free to make this yourself! It's super easy and fantastic!
NOTE: Arrowroot Powder is used to take away the greasiness in this body whip. You can also use corn starch.
Recipe:
11 oz. each of Shea butter, Mango Butter, Coconut Oil and Jojoba Oil.
1/2 cup by volume of Arrowroot Powder
4 small droppers ( approx.5-6ml ) Rose hip oil
1.5 oz. of my fragrance oil Bonsai & Citrus Ginger - Навчання та стиль
THE best body butter recipe I made over and over. I gifted to my co-workers for xmas. They are encouraging me to make it to sell. I wasn’t able to get my hands on the citrus Bonsai so I went for a coconut creamy fragrance instead. I will definitely keep that fragrance due to the many compliments I received. Thank you for sharing once again!
So happy this recipe works for you. It was definitely my best selling body product! Lavender is another fragrance that works well in this, not sure if you have tried it or not. 🙂 Best of luck if you do decide to sell!
Hi,what type of creamy coconut fragrance did you use as I also cannot find the citrus Bonsai.
do you have any DIY videos?
A suggestion… when refilling your pipping bag, flip the tip over and pinch it with a paper clip. No more loss or mess…
Thanks for the video
When you go to refill the bag, fold the tip over and put a clip on it. This will stop it from dripping out of the bag until your ready to fill the jars.
good tip!
Aw, sorry to hear you’re no longer selling. Your product looks great. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe x
The final result looks amazing ❤
Your measurements were so on point!! Thank you!😀
Thanks so much for sharing. I really enjoyed how thorough you were.
I love adding rose hip and rose oil to my butters as well. Thank you for this recipe
2023..... just came to say thank you💕. Found a video with the comments on. Yeah.
You have the patience of a Saint because people really don't listen. Those jars are not available.... lol😅😅😅. They're still asking.
May 2023 be a blessing for you and your family
God bless you for your kindness in sharing.
One of the best body butter making videos. Concise and to the point. 😊
Thank you for this gift. I will try it this week.
I made this and it was absolutely amazing and luxurious a few years back. Plan on making it again today so I had to revisit the ingredients list😊
I’ve made this and it is absolutely lovely on your skin and I made a jar for my friends psoriasis and it’s really improved it xxx
I love how simple you make it look and i try it 👍great came out wonderful thank you..
I started a couple of years ago making this and giving to family and friends everyone loves it. I now sell it in our local Farmers Market and people love it. Thank You so much
I continue to make this excellent body butter over and over (four time so far). I make half the batch and it lasts me for many months. And I always look forward to making it when I am close to running out, as I will do again this week. Thank you for such a brilliant moisturizer!
I have watched tons of videos but your video is easy and amazing. Loved your recipe. Thanku for sharing 👍
Love, Love, Love this recipe. I made it today & it turned out wonderful! Just like you said! Thank You for the Recipe
I've been watching several people make their own lotions and body butters. This is by far the easiest for someone who has NEVER done this before or who is newly discovering they can make their own. So much more simpler than other people have made it out to be with emulsifiers and all this and that and PH strips 🤪. I just want to make me some lotion, geezzzz. You are by far the best! Thank you...
I wish you were still selling these wonderful body butters. I really loved mine and I gifted one to my daughter and she loved it.
I'm so happy you loved it. Take the leap and try to make some yourself!❤️
Whipped body Butter - Best in the Best in the World ! Brilliant ! Amazing !Fantastic !
Haven't tried it jet, working on other projects right now but, on my list. great presentation.
I am going to try your recipe it looks very simple
❤thanks for this amazing recipe ❤️🤗
For me, I mix the jojoba oil with the arrowroot powder very well, and then add it to the butter as it’s melting that has helped it not be gritty. And it’s still less greasy.
How much arrow you used? the same she used ?
Thank you for sharing this information with me I will try to make it
I will try it. Thank you for sharing!! :)
Thank you for ur formula.I am going to make me some..
Thank you so much for your generosity of sharing your recipe. I call it the fail proof recipe. It holds its consistency at any temperature in Northern California. I use your body butter base and modify it for my liking. Thank you kindly. 🙏 ❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you for sharing. Very good
This video is awesome. Easy to follow. Thanks for sharing. Can you recommend a essential oil for men to add or some natural for sensitive skin as well . Neural fragrance oils for both men and women to use. I hope you understand. ♥
Hi Kathleen, so exited to see a fellow BCer, Great instructions and thanks for the name of BC company for the jars.
Thanks! Not a BCr though lol I'm in Ontario. Love BC though! 😉
Oh my goodness!!!! why are you not in sales anymore!!!! UGH!!!!!!! You make it so pretty. :( I'll try to make this then. I hope one day you will start back up again.
amazing thank you for sharing❤
Delicious ❤
This was the recipe I tried when I started making my own body butter, scaled down from 11 to 2 jars of course. I really like how this recipe melts! It's beautiful and luxurious.
However, for people who live in countries where summer is longer and hotter than it is colder, this may melt a lot quicker.
Either way, thank you so much for sharing this! It is truly beautiful!
i was wondering about the scale-down as well. In your scaled-down version, how much arrowroot powder do you use?
@@mrscharity, when I calculated the ratio, it's about 2.125 tsp of arrowroot for one serving from her 11 :)
@@candyrainrnt Thank you so much!! I’ve been using too much and that explains why it doesn’t feel right when you first rub (the butter) on.
@@mrscharity you're welcome! I recommend putting the arrowroot during the heat phase. Otherwise, I find that it tends to clump when you put it in after it cools down. Even with the sifting. Good luck, Hun!
Awesome🥰🥰🥰
I failed but I enjoyed seeing you do it. Maybe I overwhisked it, it was just melting even when I put more arrowroot powder. I know it's a me problem so I'll try again. Thanks so much for inspiring me to even try this.
It may be a refrigeration issue. Watch again how I
Put it in and out of the freezer between whisks. Also, after I fill the jars, they do go into the fridge to set up. I have never had an issue with melting after that. Don't overdo it on the arrowroot powder.
@@kathleenj1500 Thank you very much, I'll try again.
Looks Luxurious just like you said. Thank you for the recipe Christmas in August 🎄🎅🎄🧑🎄😎🌞🌻🍉🕶
Aww!! I really wish I could buy some.😢
thankh you for sharing
My whipped shea butter turned hard after it set. Maybe i didn’t use enough oils? I will try your recipe next! Thanks for such a great video!
Enjoy!
I just finished making a lemon srub this afternoon, from a video about making sugar srubs. I ordered a container of African Shea butter and arrow power a few days ago from Amazon. Looking at this is soooo easy, other videos that make these whipping body butters drag it on and on. The one I made earlier got me smelling so good.
and silky. I just finished making some ordered on Amazon so I need is the mango butter and I'm going to see what types of jars they have. QUESTION 🙋 how long is the shelf life, and I been saving my lotion bottles with the pump. can I pour this mixture into the bottle with a funnel ?.
I wouldn't worry about shelf life as you'll use it before it turns. I have used my jarfor months. This is not pumpable, so don't put it in a pump container. 🙂
Thank you so much for your generosity of sharing this recipe, i am just starting out and havent made my first batch yet. I have been researching and yours looks awesome!!! I would like your opinion on something. Im in Florida and anticipate the heat may affect the product though most everyone has A/C these days but should i alter this for a hot climate at all or do you think its fine, i wont be putting it in the hot sun but have seen alot of videos speaking on melting. Any advice you may have would be awesome, im still in research phase but will start my trial and errors very soon 😊 Again thank you so much for your generosity !!!!!!
Good luck in making a batch! I haven't had much of an issue with melting, but it will melt in extreme heat. As you said most of us have AC so not an issue. When I made batches of this for sale, I always put them into our extra refrigerator just to be sure they didn't melt. As for altering the recipe to address this issue, I have no clue what advice to give you. So sorry. I always feel that a jar of this would be used up before melting becomes much of an issue. I also never shipped during summer months. I took pre-orders for fall. Hope this helps somewhat!❤️
@@kathleenj1500 thank you i think following your recipe ill be just fine! Your a sweetheart for helping people and its so appreciated !!!
Some people add in a hard butter like cocoa butter or less oil. I have tried my own formula as well as this one and they held up. You can also let your customers know that this is a natural body butter and it may melt in transit and if that happens, they should put it in the fridge for a few minutes and it will solidify.
@amy sadfir ...
You can substitue a portion of harder butter to the recipe...or you can incorporate beeswax to prevent melting as well...
@@tabathaspencer2127 I was wonderiing abt add beeswax as well. Other recipes I've seen had beeswax them. Not so much that it makes it stiff, but enough that it doesn't melt. I live in a very hot climate and would be afraid of it melting. Watching this video had me wanting to reach in to grab some of it. I can't handle dry hands, so I go through a lot of lotion. I love pretty smelling, creamy lotions. I am going to make some of this this week.
I also ordered mica colors from Amazon. Love to make this with different colors.
Just be careful on your usage. You don't want to color your skin 😉
Could you put polysorbate in it with mica?
Hi Kat. I loved your recipe , and would love to try your butter . Could you kindly send me the recipe since Iwas unable to write down all the ingredient . And your site to order it . Thank you . Mrs Thompson from New York .
I am no longer in sales. So sorry. You will have to rewatch the video , pad and pen in hand 😉
I’m new to your channel I love this recipe cause I love the ingredients can you add some links where to buy your oils
You should do your own research, however I bought quite a bit from Bramble Berry, as well as Voyageur Soap and Candle .
Thank you so much!
Thank you
Hi and this looks like a great recipe. I can't seem to find those jars you used in the video. I know you said the name of the site but I think they might not be carrying them anymore. Do you have a part number for the jar or the name of the jar?
They do not carry that jar type anymore. You may possibly find something similar from The Jar Store online.
Thanks for sharing the recipe! Can you please tell me how many months we can keep it out of the fridge. It won't be spoiled? Thank you in advance.
Mine lasted several months out of the fridge. Taking into account that it was never warm enough to melt either(we keep our home cool). But I feel most people will use the entire jar before it would turn.
I'd seal the tip of the bag with a bag clip while refilling.
Amazing thank you for sharing. What else can i use in case i don't get to find arrowroot powder?
I'm not too sure. Unfortunately, you'll have to do some research on that one 😉
Thank u Miss kathleen, for ur wonderful recipe, i certainly will try it,i am from TRINIDAD, n the sun at times those b really hot, hence the reason i ask if i can add a bleaching agent,in it
where did you get those glass jars? everything looks nice.
Thanks. The seller who sold those jars, no longer carries them unfortunately.
This looks great! Does it matter if the coconut oil is refined or unrefined?
Most of the time , I bought the organic coconut oil from Costco. I have no experience with unrefined 🤷♀️
Thank u ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This looks great! Where did you find your jars ?
The company I purchased them from no longer carries them unfortunately.
Hey there! Great video! Where did you get your jars exactly? And what size are they? Thanks.
The company that carried them no longer has them. Sorry 🤷♀️
what size piping bag did you use and can you add mica powder for color ?
I used a large piping bag. I would hesitate to use mica for color as it could transfer to the skin as well.
Thanks for sharing. I've been looking for round globe jars like yours. Could you please share where you found them?
The business that carried them, no longer does. So sorry. Try The Jar Store. They may have something similar.
@@kathleenj1500 thank you
Where did you get the jars?
Wonderful video thank you. May I ask what fragrance oil company you use
I used many different ones, but mainly Bramble Berry and Voyageur Soap and Candle
@@kathleenj1500 thank you
Thank you for the video! Where did you find the jars?
The company I bought these from no longer carries them unfortunately.
Hola, por favor me podrías pasar la receta en español. Gracias 😊
I want these jars🎉
I know! They're perfect! Unfortunately that company no longer has them 😕
If so can you put them in the refrigerator or would you prefer leaving I'm sitting out after you put them in the jars?
I put mine in the refrigerator to solidify a bit. When I was selling, I would keep them all in there until I was ready to ship. For personal use, once set up, I kept the jar out. They were fine. 🙂
is your mango butter unrefined?
hi just came across your video and Thank you loving the instructions! Question can you add a preservative like liquid germall plus. how long id the shelf life on your recipe
I have never used a preservative, so couldn't advise you, sorry. The shelf life is really long, especially if you refrigerate. If making a small batch, you will use it up before you have to worry about it going bad
@KathleenJ Thank you! Was just wondering on shelf life myself, some add a touch of VitE do they not? I can’t wait to try with the arrowroot!
Hi new to your channel love your recipe can you tell me if I can substitute the coconut oil for another oil like hemp seed oil, olive oil, avocado oil etc.
All I can suggest is for you to play with your recipes in small batches. Once you find one that works, stick with it. Best of luck!
Thank you for sharing this fabulous recipe! Do you not need any Perservitives in this by chance? also, what is the shelf life of this Whipped Body butter?
I never added preservatives, keeping it all natural except for the added fragrance. You can research preservatives if you wish to add them. Shelf life really isn't an issue as it will get used way before it would turn. I have had a jar of my own last for months with no issues.
@@kathleenj1500 Thank you!!
I saw a recipe that mentioned vitamin E oil for preserving so it won’t go rancid
Some other recipes mention vitamin E for prevention of going rancid
From the research I've found, The butters and jojoba oil have long shelf lives and are good preservatives, as long as any water isn't added. It's the water that makes things go bad faster.
@KathleeJ If I wanted to scale down your recipe, how would I do that with the arrowroot powder? I made some using it and I didn't get the ratio right so it's a little.....dry.
I guess it would be an experiment. For example, if you are making one jar only, maybe try one teaspoon of powder. You'll be able to adjust it from there.
@@kathleenj1500 Thank you so much!
Does this leave your hands feeling greasy at all? Like when you touch things after use do you leave greasy marks on what you touch (lol) Or does it absorb super well into the skin?
It absorbs superbly! Because the recipe uses arrowroot powder, it cuts down enormously on that greasy , oily feeling you can get from other body butters. Enjoy!
If you don't have a hand mixer can you still use a blender or a ninja?
I would say no. Probably not a good idea. So much easier to remove this from a bowl rather than some sort of blender.. and the consistency may change with a blender too of course.
Where did you get jars from they so cute.
They are no longer available at the company I purchased from unfortunately.
i'm looking to start my own side business doing this. what is your suggestion of getting started in that venture
First thing I would do is research what labeling laws are in your area and follow them precisely . Also getting the business license etc.. you can research recipes etc online. Also be careful to choose quality fragrance oils and follow their usage rates.
@@kathleenj1500 - thanks for the advice.. i have recipes my mother always used and but will look into the requirements of the state
Greetings
I am wondering do you have to add the arrow root powder?
You dont have to, but it will be more greasy. The arrowroot makes it less so.
I am new to diy skincare, just for myself, not for sales, and I am wondering about the bowls and utensils. It appears that everything you used is still safely used for food, afterwards? Are there certain ingredients that would be better used in items reserved specifically for this purpose? So far, I have not heard anyone speak to this issue in the videos that I have watched. I guess they just assume that their viewers already know, but I am not one of them.
You need dedicated utensils etc for all skin care manufacturing. Dont use it for food afterwards, especially if you are making soap products.
@@kathleenj1500 Thank you, I was seriously concerned enough that I was planning on using dedicated items, but I just wanted to see if I was being needlessly cautious. I am looking forward to trying your recipe, once I get everything I need. I appreciate your help so much!
Where did you get your cute glass jars from?
The company I bought them from no longer carries them unfortunately. Sorry!
is any way to incorporate any raw honey to make richer or it should be another recipe with honey additions
I don't usually make substitution or additional suggestions, as I haven't tried them myself. All I can say is to make a tiny batch and try for yourself. 🙂
How much did you sell the 6oz jars for & what do you think they should sell for in today's economy?
I honestly don't remember what I priced them at. And you would have to price out your containers, ingredients and time to get your sales price. All would depend on todays prices of course, so I can't be of help unfortunately.
Can this be done without arrowroot or cornstarch
Citrus is so popular in the winter because before the late 80's to early 90's citrus wasn't so popular out of season, and most types are in season in the winter. I remember even now days you can walk around most cities in the desert and just smell the oranges and lemons in the winter. It was so refreshing.
This video is awesome. Easy to follow. Thanks for sharing. Can you recommend a essential oil for men to add or some natural for sensitive skin as well . Neural fragrance oils for both men and women to use. I hope you understand. ♥
For sensitive skin, I recommend going fragrance free. As for a men's fragrance, I really can't say. Fragrance is a very personal thing and varies by each individual.
@@kathleenj1500 Thanks for the reply. I was just seeing if you knew any essential oils that are unisex. Thanks
Tiffany..... Cedarwood, pine, tobacco notes are ones that men tend to like. I suggest you smell the men's collection at bath and body works then check the fragrances listed. It'll help you find one's you like. When formulating... I buy the dollar tree travel jars the really small ones plus a makeup remover cotton. Then dip a toothpick in the oil and wipe in the cotton pad. Then the next one and so on. Put the lid on for a few minutes. Then test the scent. Adding more.... once I gave something I really like Then I create using a full drop. Not dropper full. When ready Then scale up. I like Cedarwood and lime. 20 drops Cedarwood and 7 drops of lime. But that me.... also check Ulta and Sephora. Also smell all the candles... they usually give the blends....
Join the soaping groups on FB and and reddit. Hope this helps. I don't sell, just a heavy gift giver. And fundraiser with student groups.
@@abbylynn8872 great thanks. I'll try this out. 😊
Been looking for a recipe that stays soft. Thanks for caring to share.
This is the REAL DEAL!! I love the way your very clean and very generous with your recipes, I cannot afford to make this so I will go to your shop to see if its affordable as I think everyone should have some of this for their skin! Thank you for sharing I just came across your page today and I love what I see so far.
I go to voyageur soap and candles supplies as well! I always drop a small fortune there lol. I love it so much.
Did not know about the cooling and arrowroot powder---explains why I never could get a good whip! Ima try dis---thanks!
This is one of the best video on how to make alot at once. Can you do another video please. I been waiting for months on a new video. Hope to see more like this one.
Thanks so much for sharing your recipe Kathy!
Thank you Kathleen for sharing with us, you are very kind...Hope you had a wonderful Christmas day and lots of blessings for 2019 !
Merry Christmas!
Look soooo smooth thanks for sharing! ❤
Oh my I had to try this! This stuff is amazing. I scented in a blend of three lemon fragrance oils I had on hand. I can’t stop smelling this stuff. You Were right about citrus in the winter. Thankyou for sharing🤗
Gorgeous..... I use coco butter too.
I add essential oils..
I love vanilla oil for my little girl she smell like a cup cake
That's so sweet
Yeah I'm pretty sure essential oils are safer than fragrance, haha. Plus, most people probably wouldn't put too much because the smell is really strong.
Question...You say you use Cocoa butter too...How much? So, the way it sounds, do you just add another 11 oz of the Cocoa butter or do you replace some of another oil...thanks so much for your time!
Thank You for the beautiful body butter recipe! Hope your having a Merry Christmas! I'm looking forward to another year of watching your videos!
Thanks Jill. Merry Christmas!
what wonderful presents to give for birthdays, holidays...even thank yous
if you fold the end of the piping bag and use a black and silver paper clip (the ones with the foldable silver sides) you will keep from loosing the cream in the bottom of the jar as you are filling the pipping bag. (use the small size one and it will be perfect to use.
Excellent recipe! Thank you!
Love this video. Ty for sharing. Going to try it. I always make a mess when piping. Lol
Kathy Merry Christmas to you too and a very productive New Year!
thanks sooo much for sharing this luxuries butter recipe. Hugs from Mexico..😍
