This comment should probably be under another video but I just wanted to say thank you for being one of the only people on YT to show us the correct way to press powder. I had ordered a bronzer and it arrived smashed to bits. It wasn't worth sending it back and I did love the colour so didn't wanna chuck it away. After watching your videos and one other woman I've managed to be able to save that previously ruined bronzer and will never have to worry about it if something like that happens again because I now know that I can fix it. I'm absolutely chuffed to bits with how it turned out!! So once again a massive thank you from me 😁💜
I make my body butter Using the emulsify way with water sorry distil water that’s just a different way of making body butter instead of Making a Anhydrous butter
@Esoterika I agree. My customers would be unhappy if I changed the recipe and sold them hand creme when they know what butter is. Granted, some will like the creme for summer months, but wouldn't appreciate me calling it butter when in fact it is not.
@@glasshalffull4622 it IS in fact body butter. Merely different formulations. Adding liquid does NOT mean it is no longer body butter. Creams & lotions are completely different formulations and ingredients.
I’ve been making my own lotions for over fifteen years. I love knowing exactly what’s going on to my skin and being absorbed into my body. It’s an easy way to reduce your toxic load and improve luxurious self care. Thank you for sharing!
Plus with herbally infused things, skin problems actually go away. It's a little miracle every time calendula salve gets rid of psoriasis, rashes, etc.
hey👋🏻 making your own body lotion sounds so good. would you like to share your recipe I would love to read that and get some idea for my own skin (dry). I'm a huge fan of DIYs whether it's for skin, hair, bumps, acne, stretch marks everything! So I'm really excited about making my own customised body lotion. thank you ❤
Ooh this is exciting! I started making body butters 13 years ago because the Body Shop butters were so expensive. I still love my go-to anhydrous whipped butter (a generous slater before bed with cotton PJs works wonders in the winter), but it definitely doesn’t have the luxurious feel of this style. It never occurred to me that an emulsified formula would support additives. I saw some interesting ones at Lotion Crafter that I’ll have to take a second look at.
I love this. While there is nothing wrong with the more thick formula of many natural home made body butters, it's wonderful to have this information available for those of us who want a more silky, sophisticafed formula. Thank you so much for this!
I'm still okay with using 100% natural ingredients in my body butters over using any water (that can grow pathogens) or synthetics even if it means they get a bit firm in winter. and too soft in summer. Actually, I've pretty much resolved both those issues by using another ingredient which turns my body butters into a mousse like consistency, which spreads like a dream, absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving it tacky plus you only have to use a small amount to cover a large area.
@@cosmicanu Powdered rose or hibiscus flower. I've found that the hibiscus works best. Just enough to stop the stickiness and slick of the body butter. I usually put it in last. Both give the body butter a pretty pink color. I also use essential oils and absolutes for their smell and therapeutic benefits. It doesn't look like normal body butter; it's light and fluffy and nourishes the skin beautifully. I also put in vit e, which is an antioxidant, though you don't have to. As I don't use any water there's no need to add antimicrobial agents as bacteria and fugus need water to exist. So, it's 100% botanical and free of any synthetics. Give it a try.
@@nouranmohamed3823 My pleasure. I'm sorry I can't tell the ratio as I go by feel. Not very scientific I know but the proportions differ due to the season, and I don't think it matters. My balms have a mousse like texture and are very light to the touch. However, only a small amount goes a long way and it's very nourishing for the skin. So, far I have had no problems with people being sensitive to it, even people who have sensitive skin. I do make sure the essential oils I use are skin friendly and in the right amount. Actually, you can forgo the essential oils and just the oils and butter and the hibiscus or rose powder to get the right consistency. Both are safe to use internally as well as externally. I drink both as a tea with a bit of honey. My place is awash with pink. Sorry, I've been a bit vague about everything, but this is how I make my skincare products. Some people may choose to use arrowroot instead of the rose/hibiscus, but I like the look of it plus both powders have skincare benefits. So, if you see a formula that uses arrowroot just substitute it out for rose or hibiscus. I hope this has been somewhat helpful. Best of luck.
Making body butter is really pretty easy. My friend makes body butter for all her friends. I love it - it soaks in and is not greasy after application. She does not use cetyl alcohol, emulsifying wax or water. Everything in her body butter is natural and all the the ingredients are plain, easy to read and pronounce. The ONLY time her body body 'melts', is in extreme heat, but all you have to do is stir it and set in the fridge to reset it. And you can use it 'melted' if you choose to, just give it stir. It still remains absorbent and non greasy after application.
I've shared dozens of simpler anhydrous body butter formulations like that over the last decade :) All free, you can find a few here: ua-cam.com/play/PL4cZgaY9j7fO1Q2bxfrmMHZ6-4XygnEto.html + ua-cam.com/play/PL4cZgaY9j7fM6qoMxL56r41AIeDPD_F61.html + www.humblebeeandme.com/make-body-butter/
Love that but I hate this “plain easy to pronounce” ingredients rhetoric: you do realise literally everything has a chemical composition that’ll consist of words people can’t pronounce, right? Those ingredients are only “easy to pronounce” because they’ve been assigned layman terms, which are what you’re calling them by. INGREDIENTS: AQUA (88.9%), SUGARS (8.4%) (SUCROSE (48%), GLUCOSE (20%), FRUCTOSE (15%), MALTOSE (
Very nice video! If I may make a suggestion, your watchglass would do a better job if it were flipped over. The lower center of gravity would make it more stable. More importantly, the condensation will form a fat drop in the center of the glass and return to the beaker. It looks like your watch glass has a lot of water at the edges, so it's not keeping your water in the beaker as well as it should.
Have you had any melting issues in 80+ degree weather? I made this formulation and left in my car for testing purposes. 84+degrees and it became liquidy but Deff not oily like anhydrous butter.
What butters did you use and oils. Summer time is all year round in the carribean I make non oil just hard butters I use the Hydrous emulsifier, Medford
ive made this recipe , once comfortable sith it i changed up oils & fo ive never enjoyed body butters because thier just to oily for me this formula i absolutely love all thd body butter goodness without feeling greasy thank you marie ........
I’ve been making this for a while now. Best recipe ever if you follow the instructions! I actually make 2 batches - one for body with a bit of EO and one for face without. It’s lovely and it doesn’t break down as the no water recipes: when I went to South Africa, that batch just melted! But in France last year with the heat wave, formula was perfect. Maria: you are a genius!
19 g oil, 5 g butter, 6 g cetyl alcohol, 4 g emulsifying wax NF (1 part emulsifier to 7.5 parts oil); 50.3 g distilled water, 15 g veg glycerine (replace any water lost to evaporation during heating); 0.5 g liquid germall plus; 0.2 g fragrance. Makes 100 g/100ml/4 oz emulsified body butter
It emulsify like when we make mayonnaise here. In Catalonia we usually make our mayonnaise every time with egg, olive oil, salt and just a little squeeze of lemon. We get the egg out of the refrigerator to be at the same temperature of the oil and then fix our turmix like you did at the votos of the vase. Better not move it until it emulsify or else it will “cut” and will never get to be a cream/butter. Those more oil, the harder the mayonnaise get.
@Julia I don't know. You can do it without the lemon, some people put a little vinegar (very little). If I don't have lemon I don't put it. But I think it has more to do to lower ph and act as a conservative. Because egg and oil emulsify if they are at the same temperature and you dou it with care. The traditional mayonnaise uses only the yolk and puts the oil very slowly while you stir constantly at the same speed in a "mortero". To make allioli (oil and garlic) you smash the garlic with salt in the "mortero" an then stir it with just some oil. Then someone drops the oil just drop by drop while you stir. It still will emulsify. Oils do that. But not everyone would be brave enough to try to do it by hand! My sister in law used to made the best allioli. I get tired when I have just a little made.
I just made this about 30 minutes ago. I haven't made body butter in YEARS as I waant very good at it 😂. I am OBSESSED. This formulation is amazing and so easy to make! Thank you so much for sharing this!! ❤
❤️ I'm so thrilled to hear it; thanks for DIYing with me! Don't forget to check out my blog (humblebeeandme.com) as well-I've been blogging since 2011 while I’ve only been on UA-cam since about 2016, so there are a lot more formulations on the blog. I used to make body butter, the secret is the amount of emulsifier to water to oils to add. Then, you whip it all up for a few hours. I have whip shea butter that is still solid from a few years ago , still smells wonderful.
i followed another recipe calling for 1/2 cup of each - shae, cocoa butters & 1/2 each of coconut and almond oils - prettty greasy i say - so happy to found you - i ordered a small bag of cetal alcohol - Do you think I can fix my body butter by remelting and adding cetyl alcohol and how much what is the percentage
This is great information with minimal ingredients. I have been mixing my creations for years. However, this gives me the science behind it. Plan to make for self and family members. Who knows from there. Can you show a formulation the the Jose Maran bronze body butter? Do you just add mica? What ratio?
GUESS WHAT? There's a kit for this formulation! Get everything you need to make 1kg of this formulation from YellowBee at yellowbee.ca/collections/product-starter-kit/products/starter-kit-emulsified-body-butter?variant=44553306538275 ❤ You can choose your own fragrance-I recommend Baja Cactus Blossom, it's DIVINE 😍 This is not sponsored + not affiliate'd :)
What can glycerine be swapped with I find this mix super sticky I’ve given some samples out to friends and they all the same the same it’s really tacky and sticky
Thats not a body butter, thats a lotion. Both use similar ingredients, the only difference is consistency, if its not super thick and stiff, its not a body butter.
Wow!! Thank you for this. I’ve recently started my body butter journey and wondered why they weren’t the same as what I see big brands doing. I really want to make something for my sons eczema. Any tips/tricks on incorporating aloe Vera and oatmeal to products?
You are very beautiful and your spirit is good. Thank you for teaching us to make everything ourselves. But I have a small request. Please, can you make me a serum that exfoliates the skin of the face with fruit acids, a peeling similar to TCa, because I suffer from strong pigmentation, and I tried everything and it did not work. Thank you.
Before I watch the video I’m gonna comment water. They use water because it’s cheaper and they can make way more on their ROI. Pure butters are way more expensive all alone in a jar. So what they are making are just thick creams. It’s far from a body butter.
I recently found your page and I'm hooked! You have such a great way of explaining and teaching that makes learning the technical process so fun. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and techniques!

This is. a great recipe, and it came out great except that my immersion blender created SUCH a layer of bubbly foam. It was all the way submerged, too - but the second I hit the button the bubbles started piling up. Idk, maybe a taller, narrower mixing container? I was using a 1 cup measuring cup. It settled down after about 15 minutes of hand stirring, and came out great. 💗
There is so much knowledge and experience in youre Videos! I benefit a lot of it❤ Is there a possibility that you make a Video on wich Liquid Oils will make the Lotion thick or thin? Sorry if there are mistakes in my English I am a german😅🙈
The first time I made this, it turned out beautifully! I had never used cetyl alcohol before. The butter is gorgeous ad absorbs quickly … I love it. So, when I made it again, I quadrupled the recipe and make some for a friend. After the 30 second burst and then hand stirring, it didn’t thicken as it did the first time. Is it not possible to triple or quadruple the recipe? The result is not a loss but …. Help!
Hi! You can definitely scale the formulation, but everything will take longer (heating and cooling especially) because the batch is larger. I suspect things were moving along as normal, just more slowly than you expected, and that's why it seemed like it wasn't thickening :) Thanks for DIYing with me, and happy making!
Thank you for sharing this highly important information. Thanks to your video, I could finally formulate a cream with the texture that I really wanted.
What's your favourite w/o emulsifier? I've been enjoying Neocare P3R (shop.skinchakra.eu/en/Cosmetic-Lab/Emulsifiers/Neocare-P3R.html) lately. It feels like there's 10 o/w emulsifiers for every 1 w/o one!
After waiting for my ingredients to arrive, I finally made this formula. Marie, I LOVEEEE IT, so smooth and luxurious, I’m in love. You are a star, thank you so much for sharing so much with us, I’m learning so much from you. Now will try it with different emulsifiers! ❤
I am only just getting in to wanting to make natural and healthy products, and getting away from all the chemicals that are harmful for our bodies. Some of the ingredients listed I've heard other yt use. But some I haven't. Of course now I can't remember which ones, other that the some kind of alcohol. I'm sure you will know which ones I'm wondering about. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hello and welcome! To learn more about the ingredients I use I highly recommend looking them up in the 100% free Humblebee & Me Encyclopedia at www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia. Each entry contains information about why an ingredient is used in formulas, substitutions, what they do, usage rates, and more. Happy making!
I hope this doesn't offend you, but you legit sounded like a confident scientist or saleslady or maybe even combination of the two, in a good way, love the video and recipe btw
I love all your videos! Your knowledge and the way to explain things is so easy to understand. Thank you for everything I have learned throughout the years from you! (Since 2016)! I am moving soon to Italy (May) and I will. Become a Patreon then. I’m a bit busy right now! 😅
Hi Marie!! This video was so helpful, I made my first successful emulsified body butter by watching this and reading your blog posts. It looks like a few things went wrong though, and I’m doing some research to figure out why. Maybe you could offer some insight? The first thing is that I substituted e wax NF for BTMS 50, I was working on two formulations - one that uses btms at 10% and the other at 4% (I’ll be making the 4% one tomorrow). I also used Optiphen as my preservative. When I double boiled the water and oil phases, the oil phase solidified really really quickly, so I added it and I barely had to use my emulsion blender to get it to the right consistency - it was nice and smooth though. But once I added the optiphen the formulation turned a little clumpy, nothing crazy but not smooth. It had no thick chunky lumps but it’s just not smooth until you rub it in your hands. Any advice? Thanks so much!!!!💕
Thank you so much for this , it turned out extremely well and I finally gives my skin enough moisture . Can I ask you if it is possible to extract some grams from the Destilled water and add them as a plant extract in the cool down phase ? Would really appreciate your advice on that ❤
Yes you can! Keep in mind what kind of extract it is, glycerin based, alcohol, oil, etc. if you want you can swap a big percent of water for a hydrosol, it’s like a plant extract but you don’t have to worry about extra ingredients
So excited to be thinking about making my own moisturiser tonight & WOW went to bed & put UA-cam on 🎉🎉🎉there you are,OMG,is Google a mind reader now,but SO GLAD to find your channel, smile, easy helpful tutorial & information/knowledge & now I need to join Patreon & subscribe to you🙏🎉🙏🎉🙏🎉🙏🎉🙏😊exciting 😊💐

Thank you so much. I'm from Australia and wanted to make my own fragrance free for myself and family. I make so for us and will be trying your homemade tallow/lard soap method
I was wondering if pH testing is necessary in this recipe? With water and a preservative added it would probably be safer to ensure the cream is at the right pH level so the preservative works? Thank you!
Hi! I designed this formulation to be beginner friendly, which is why selected Liquid Germall™ Plus as my preservative. It has a very broad pH range, making pH testing unnecessary (from a preservative efficacy POV) if you make the formulation as-is. If you have a pH meter and can test and adjust it to 4.5-5.5 that is great for skin health, but if you don't have one you don't have to-the preservative will still work and the pH won't fall in an unsafe-for-skin range when made as written, though it may not be ideal for skin.
Hi..I am from India and wanted to make the receipts but you haven’t given links where to buy ingredients in that chart,Asian countries not present…request you to pls add those too…Grateful for ur help..❤
Yet another amazing formula, thank you so much - I learnt so much from your channel and the partner blog. Have you ever made a deodorant? I looked up in the blog and couldn’t find any. I wish you formulated one… 😊
❤️ Thank you so much! I created several deodorant formulations when I was a very new formulator, but they all used baking soda, which I have since moved away from due to its high pH. I've been working on some alternatives ever since, but haven't published anything yet. I want to make sure I share something that works!
@@HumblebeeAndMe Oh yeah, no baking soda, it really hurts me big time - I live in a city (Chennai) where it gets super hot and without deodorant it's really difficult and all store-brought ones give me rashes so I've been wanting to desperately look for natural alternative.
I have heard of people and recipes replacing the baking soda by - using zinc oxide, or magnesium carbonate, or diatomaceous earth instead. Haven’t tried any but am planning on researching. I have used bicarbonate of soda for some years using only half of the quantity of any recipe I have followed. Sometimes added Aloe Vera Gel in the mix to sooth and protect skin. You can make your own aloe gel too. And will need a preservative.
Thank you for this recipe, was wondering about the recommended PH for this. I don’t think I seen you check the PH or saying anything about it. I thought we have to check PH anytime we make emulsions. Please let me know & thank you for your knowledge
I wanted this formulation to be as beginner friendly as possible, so I chose a preservative that has a very broad effective pH range so we don't have to test. It is generally a good idea (and a must if you use a preservative with a narrower pH range), but I wanted to get newer makers started without complicating things too much :)
Nice to know the tricks to the trade. I still prefer less is more. I buy the purest Shea I can and mix in my own oils, I prefer and essential oils, to temper the smell of the Shea. I just heat in warm water bath, stir with a small whisk, and let it set back. I prefer less chemicals in all my personal care items, head to toe.

THANK YOU 😊
I love love your videos Marie.Thankyou for these! I have a small issue I need help with. I made a small test batch and fell in love with this body butter. I then included it in my shop by adding different scents and colours and it turned out impressive. I made a big batch and stored it but after 2 months, I randomly opened one jar one day and it was spoiled with growth in it. I am not sure what was the issue. The butter was in an airtight jar but was placed in a rom where there was too much light I admit and probably hot too. I use Isopropyl alcohol to sanitise my jars and take immense care while formulation to not introduce any contaminants. Please help! I'm not sure what was the exact reason of the spoilage and any help would be highly appreciated
My best guess is that because this is a 100 gram formulation, the preservative used and amount are intended to keep for a shorter amount of time. You probably need a different preservative and /or different proportions for long-term storage. Or you can always freeze it until needed.
I really like the Shea Body Butter from the Body Shop, but it is hard, not silky texture in the tub, is there a difference between how that one is made vs your formula? Also, in this video it doesn't look like a lot of shea butter is used, and a lot of other ingredients, is that normal? Are most body butters made with many ingredients? I've only just come across your channel, so I will be watching more videos and learning! Also one more unrelated question, but do you also breakdown perfumes, and their ingredient list? One of my favourite perfumes has been discontinued 😢 so would love to try and recreate that! Thank you, I've subscribed! X
Hi Laura! Welcome :) The Body Shop product uses more solid fats that I do, which will make for a harder final product. I was aiming for something softer & creamier, resulting in different formulation decisions. Some emulsified body butters will use lots of butters, some will use more liquid oils; it really depends on what they're going for. Different blends and ratios of fats will create different skin feels. An emulsified body butter will need around this many ingredients (this is a pretty simple formulation), while an anhydrous one can have far fewer (though it will have other challenges, like melting in warm weather and getting too hard if it gets too cold). Here's an exaple: ua-cam.com/video/_WaO5uG5sYU/v-deo.html. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of perfumes and the resulting labelling, it's impossible to break down perfumes from the ingredient list since the perfume ingredient will only ever be "parfum" or "fragrance" :( Happy making!
I love your videos! I have tried this recipe several times and every time it comes out thin.. it would be perfect in a pump, but I'm trying for something a little thicker for my jars... How can I thicken this one up, properly just a little bit more?
Love this formula, thank you Marie♥️ I used polawax. Am I overthinking with the slippy feel on the hands? Wondering if I should reduce the Glycerin or add Arrowroot powder? Any suggestions on plant powders for additional skin benefits?
I'm so glad you're enjoying it! I found that reducing the glycerin to 5-10% dramatically lightened the skin feel of the product, so you might try that. There is no need to add starch; that's a strategy typically reserved for anhydrous formulations because our hands are tied a bit by the anhydrous-ness. If you want to make this formulation lighter, simply make the oil phase smaller. Click the video linked on the end screen to learn how to do that 😄
Weird swap/redevelopment question: can this luxurious consistency be achieved without a butter by replacing the butter portion with more oil + fatty thickener? I know that's counterintuitive to the idea of it being a body butter, but I was curious
You definitely don't need to include a butter-I did as a 'in the spirit of' thing, but you can easily replace it with more liquid oil and I doubt you'll notice any viscosity change. You don't even need more thickener :)
@@HumblebeeAndMe wow, I've learned from you that the size of the oil phase was critical all on it's own, but I guess I didn't realize just how critical Being able to turn 2 liquid phases into something as rich & creamy as that is just straight up sorcery, or maybe its alchemy lol
Informative video as usual. I wonder if the 15% amount of humactant won't leave a sticky feeling? What is your favourite natural emulsifier to replace wax NF?
Pure oil and butter body butters just sit on your skin. Anhydrous body butters are absorbed into the skin. My Lavender + Palo Santo Body Butter is anhydrous and a huge seller. I also ad a hint of arrowroot to make it less greasy and feel silky on the skin 🫶🏻
"Anhydrous" means without water, so I think you mean to say that emulsified body butters are absorbed into the skin (in part because of the water) and anhydrous formulas tend to stay on the skin's surface. Arrowroot is often added to anhydrous formulas.
I tried this formula ! And I can't tell how much I love it 💖 Iam using it for my body and my hair it's amazing But I have a question.. Can I add a flavor and use it for lips??
love your videos, thank you so much for all the info, quick question, do any of these ingredients help with greasiness or do i have to also add anything like a starch or isopropyl myristate. many thanks xxx

I just wish big brands would stop calling it butter and call it what it is, hand cream. Great recipe.
It’s still a butter though. Depends on your water to butter ratio anyways
Yes. It would be better labeled as a cream for sure as it's always an emulsion and butters to me are fats whipped together.

❤️ Thanks for watching!
Perhaps you could first try making body oils. They are so much easier than making balm or butters. Just a suggestion.
I saw some interesting ones at Lotion Crafter that I’ll have to take a second look at.
me too. I started making my own when my daughter would react to everything.
I love this. While there is nothing wrong with the more thick formula of many natural home made body butters, it's wonderful to have this information available for those of us who want a more silky, sophisticafed formula. Thank you so much for this!
I've only ever made emulsified body butters. They're light, non greasy, dont melt and completely stable no matter the weather.
And what's that ingredient?
@@janececelia7448 thank you so much! Can I ask what ratio of hibiscus you prefer to the batch of butter? ❤
@@janececelia7448 thank you for this ♥️ can you tell me the percentage or ratio of these ingredients to add?
Cool. I'd love to hear what ingredients your friend uses or the full recipe.🙂

I used to read your blog back in the early 2010s! So cool seeing that you're still at it a decade later 🥰
The texture is so lovely Marie! Thanks for sharing! 💜💜
Thank you so much! ❤️
This is definitely the key. I've been doing this for years and sell my body butter all-year round.

❤️ I'm so glad to hear it! Thanks for DIYing with me, and happy making :)
19 g oil, 5 g butter, 6 g cetyl alcohol, 4 g emulsifying wax NF (1 part emulsifier to 7.5 parts oil);
50.3 g distilled water, 15 g veg glycerine (replace any water lost to evaporation during heating);
0.5 g liquid germall plus;
0.2 g fragrance.
The lemon doesnt emulsify, it's the egg. Un fact, lemon and acids un general tend to cut the emulsion.
I just made this about 30 minutes ago. I haven't made body butter in YEARS as I waant very good at it 😂. I am OBSESSED. This formulation is amazing and so easy to make! Thank you so much for sharing this!! ❤

Thats not a body butter, thats a lotion. Both use similar ingredients, the only difference is consistency, if its not super thick and stiff, its not a body butter.
I actually love a good smooth oily body butter ,I love the shine . If you make this use unrefined shea butter it has benefits rather than refined

Does your skin have issues with glycolic acid ?
Before I watch the video I’m gonna comment water. They use water because it’s cheaper and they can make way more on their ROI. Pure butters are way more expensive all alone in a jar. So what they are making are just thick creams. It’s far from a body butter.
By far the best emulsified whipped body butter 🎉❤ God bless you

This is. a great recipe, and it came out great except that my immersion blender created SUCH a layer of bubbly foam. It was all the way submerged, too - but the second I hit the button the bubbles started piling up. Idk, maybe a taller, narrower mixing container? I was using a 1 cup measuring cup. It settled down after about 15 minutes of hand stirring, and came out great. 💗

Is there a possibility that you make a Video on wich Liquid Oils will make the Lotion thick or thin?

Any advice? Thanks so much!!!!💕
I can’t wait to try this! Couple questions: 1. Can I use Optiphen Plus instead of Germall? 2. Can I use essential oils instead of fragrance oil?
I wouldn't use essential oils. They can give you itchy rashes or allergies at worst 🙈
Thanks for sharing this information with us. Can this same formulation be used for the hair?

@@HumblebeeAndMe Awww, thank you 🙏🏼. You are the best

Thank you very much for sharing.I made it simply awesome.
Hi Laura! Welcome :)
The Body Shop product uses more solid fats that I do, which will make for a harder final product.
Unfortunately, due to the complexity of perfumes and the resulting labelling, it's impossible to break down perfumes from the ingredient list since the perfume ingredient will only ever be "parfum" or "fragrance" :(
Happy making!
Click the video linked on the end screen to learn how to do that 😄
Can Marshmallow root powder be used?
@Humblebee & Me can we make it heavier by contrast? If we bump the oil phase to 40-50 and adjust the ewax?
Love what you do miss. All the way from Nigeria
@@HumblebeeAndMe wow, I've learned from you that the size of the oil phase was critical all on it's own, but I guess I didn't realize just how critical
Being able to turn 2 liquid phases into something as rich & creamy as that is just straight up sorcery, or maybe its alchemy lol
Informative video as usual. I wonder if the 15% amount of humactant won't leave a sticky feeling?
What is your favourite natural emulsifier to replace wax NF?
Wonderful formula. Could I add stearic acid for a harder consistency? What ratio? Thank you! I love your content.
How do you add the palo? Here is just the palo, natural, like a wood.
"Anhydrous" means without water, so I think you mean to say that emulsified body butters are absorbed into the skin (in part because of the water) and anhydrous formulas tend to stay on the skin's surface. Arrowroot is often added to anhydrous formulas.
