Living in South Lincolnshire, also in a fantastic Lodge on a fantastic site, "we" are more than grateful that South Holland Internal Drainage Board FULLY MAINTAIN the surrounding Dykes and Drainage systems...second to none in my opinion.
YES, all Residents within South Holland pay a nominal contribution on their Council Tax...coupled with the knowledge and security that the maintenance is continuous, AND EFFECTIVE, 'piece of mind' is more than welcome.
    STAY SAFE....G.A.R.

There are caravan parks close to the River Avon in Worcestershire where all the vans have floats fitted. They are beautiful parks in the summer but personally I could never spend good money on a van so much at risk of getting flooded.

Ivan check the security of your ground anchor chains ! The securing stakes should be tightly driven into the ground .

I am in NC US the devastation here is mind boggling, we are fortunate just a flooded basement. Keep that water away. We have to have work done to keep the water away from our house . Stay dry and warm.

That was a close call Ivan with the tree aye. Thank goodness I live where it doesn't flood.

My ( Residential ) plot floods regularly on one side. At least this current van is on a raised concrete plinth. Our old one was just on earth, set on stacks of broken flags. Over time they had sunk causing the van to be lower at the back. When the site flooded & cars drove past through the water on the road, the waves were almost lapping at the underside of the van 😬

I think all sites had a problem with flooding mine was the same north coast in Northern Ireland, I think 2 gas bottles are a must. In my old van you could feel the walls of van bow during strong winds not so bad in my newer van thankgoodness

I used to live off grid. I had calor gas for cooking and fridge freezer. Two bottles essential. Was that the tree that lost a limb a while back?

The weather can really cause a lot of issues - hopefully your site will have invested in the sort of machinery that sucks out pools under vans . Overnight frosts can cause pipes to freeze - always good when weather turns to fill the kettle before bed and fill a bucket in case your loo won’t flush . Hopefully won’t happen but have seen it change quickly when we had our caravan.

This is the result of councils not allowing regular dredging of rivers and streams.

You know that it's the same where we are. We have Muppets on a shirt n tie makeing decisions in areas where they never been to and won't listen to the local ppl we had a big house builder buy some land in my town and it would allways flood and guess what floods and the daft ppl moaning now didn't do any research. On the area. Is plenty of pics of the area flooded and the road flooded but no brains none of them tools

Wind is ur biggest problem in cold weather as it sucks the heat out of ur caravan. Did u not notice it colder during high winds. Also with all the ventilation on caravans do u find drafts at the vents.

You wait when you pee in toilet an it bounces off..Your now frozen.Water.supply.is.now frozen minimum 3 weeks. And then joy when it unfreeze all the pipe joints have blown.Im talking from living an still living in a caravan for over 15 years.Dont get me started when the electric goes down for up to 3 weeks
