Hello luv, at 60 (currently 67) I found my 'if only'....A 2005 30 ft, sleeps 9 camper to go with my 2005 F-150. Can't afford to rent anywhere, a widow twice, divorced once, living on less than 1,000 a month. I needed a place I could call home. Not allowing anyone to tell me what was and wasn't acceptable...for me and my pets. I do well on my own. Not like I have a choice, I'm the only one left of my family. So if it's to be, it's up to me. Quite likely I'm in better health now than when I was 30. This young woman living as she chooses.. I say kudos to you luv!! You only have so many heartbeats...choose them wisely and live what Your definition of 'well' is. No one's decision but your own.❤

Coming up to 4 years fulltime vanlife myself this simpler life has been the best thing for mental health and the pocket because you live in a tiny space, you don’t accumulate junk so you stop wasting money. I use to feed my depression with buying clothes, I no longer have that need. You also don’t care about keeping up with trends and maybe get a thicker skin but worry less about what others think of you. Gosh if everyone could experience this lifestyle for even just a while I think we’d have kinder more accepting communities. I’m never going back to a house, I will die traveling and until then enjoy this beautiful lifestyle.
What a lovely woman, intelligent, talented, measured with a great sense of humour and a cosy, beautiful home for her and her cute dogs. Good on you for not being forced back into the everyday house, mortgage and all the trappings that keep you under the gov’s thumb. Only reason they are against it is they can’t get loads of money from you. You are much happier than a lot of people I know who have huge homes with draining jobs taking up most of their waking hours, and huge debts to live a lifestyle they the think they should have, making them miserable, and looking forward to retirement. 😮 life is for living and you’re doing it great. Thanks for showing us your home ❤
What a fantastic woman! Independent thinking and free spirited. I live in woodland in a tarp wigwam and have never been happier. The real joy of life can only be found by those with the courage to walk a different path.
Everyone is different. I see that she is happy and feels free. For me, I’m such a homebody I need a permanent place to come back to every day. I have downsized and live simply in a very small town in the foothills of a mountain range and I love my life. I can see the appeal in her life too and wish her well.
This week on "We've made real homes *SO* fecking expensive, but REAL people are adaptable!" , I am amazed at your skill and passion(keeping it positive!), well done!
Absolutely right. Can't afford to live where I was born. London. So I worked as a long distance lorry driver. Lived on the road. Parked up at night in the country side at night. Radio and reading. Wonderful. Good luck to you.
When I watch videos like this, it just makes me feel at home. I struggle to fit in and when I watch videos like this, I realise it’s ok to not want what everyone else wants.
I loved this wonderful woman and her enviable way of life, she's got this totally right and I wish the authorities wouldn't make things so difficult for van lifers, it's a healthier way to live.
You remind me of a wise woman that lived some 300 years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you and listening to you. If I lived closer, I’d buy one of your wreaths Patty from Connecticut, USA.
If society goes down, the banks fail, the lights go out, famine or whatever,,,you will be the one who is living your life comfortably!! God bless you, because you are a blessing to others!! ❤️🙏❤️
Great life! I converted a 41 seater coach for my family back in the late 60s, early 70s. Lived in caravans on the side of the road and lived on and sailed around in an 8 metre bobcat catamaran. Later took to bricks and mortar for interesting work and to build up a reserve to leave to my family when I pass on. 77 now and looking at catamarans, who knows.
Steph is a very bright woman! I think she could be a woodsman/gardener or a CEO of a company. She has made her choice. I watch these videos because I do believe there is going to be a reset, and those forewarned are forearmed. This channel is the best for highlighting this lifestyle and community. Thanks guys 🙂
Funny you should say that. I am Royal horticulture society trained and ran my own gardening business for 5 years. And also do chainsaw stuff over winter as another hustle. Only today I was using my chainsaw to sort someone's wood store out for them
I did my thesis on nomadic living, it's not only normal but it's one the best alternatives for sustainable living in fragile ecosystems...So it couldn't be more relevant today 😊
Nice. I skirted the edges of society norms for years, always feeling like a square peg in a round hole...last year I took the plunge, stepped out, left my job and now live in my own caravan, became self-employed...and it was the best thing for my sanity, for my physical and mental health. Lots of people are surprised I'm not taking benefits. I'm living within my means, I go foraging regularly, I also have a container garden...I prefer this lifestyle tenfold.
I admire anyone that lives like this and I think it's a great blessing also. I also love the old past time style. She's precious and very wise also. Thx hon for sharing your home.
A lovely lady and great to see her dogs get pride of place in her life and her world. True love both ways. We all have the opportunity to make these choices at a point in life when we have nothing, but not all are brave enough to take the leap of faith. It's still a big step. A step that governments and people should respect as not everyone has the choice. I left home in a recession hit Ireland at 17 with a rucksack on my back and some money in my pocket, taking a one way boat ride to England. It was tough for many years, no back-up, and no family close by. Basic single room apartments for years without heating. It makes you stronger, hard and street wise. It's amazing how resilient we are when times get tough and what we actually need.
@@katherinestevens6528 I did in the past drive long distances. Today my life is very different. My family live in the UK where we have a small holding full of rescue Alpacas, Goats, Geese, Sheep, Horses, Dogs, Cats, Chickens and Peacocks, plus others. I on the other hand, have lived out of a suitcase and have worked abroad for the last twenty five years. Poland, Lithuania, Morocco, Turkey, Sri Lanka, China and Vietnam. I have for want of a better word become a global nomad. You cannot believe how good it is to live in the middle of nowhere in the UK working with the animals, who absolutely love us, keeping the place fixed up, for the brief times in the year when I am there. So whilst I don't drive long distances in the real sense of the word, I do have itchy feet and have seen and lived in many different cultures and countries. We are not rich financially, but we are richly rewarded in what we can give back to our family and rescue animals and the way they react and respond to us. We cannot take what we have put together with us when we leave this world and hope our children will continue the animal rescue we have set up after we have gone. This is as close to living off grid as we have got with our three children and extended animal rescue family and we love it. Believe me when I say we live close to nature and have life long bonds when it comes to living with the animals, hand rearing and recovering sick animals in the kitchen and any other room when required.

Weather this is England or the United States, rents are too high for the working poor, or lower middle class. No one wants the homeless in there back yard. This wonderful lady is not homeless at all. Wake-up she is showing UK government I can’t afford apartment or flat. I have my home on wheels.❤❤❤
I’m a fulltime vanlifer in Australia with my dog coming up to 4 years and this lifestyle seems more natural and fulfilling than “the cookie cutter” life we are lead to believe is the only way. Most parts of this country it’s legal to sleep in your vehicle so it’s disheartening to hear it’s mostly illegal in the UK. Thank you for sharing your story and your gorgeous home ♥️♥️♥️
But that's incorrect! Its not 'mostly illegal to sleep in your vehicle in the uk'!! It's mostly legal, with certain exceptions regarding parking restrictions, private and public land etc. Please check the internet for validation.
I'm drifting more and more this way. But I'm contemplating a camp at lightning Ridge. Off grid only $800 per year.30year lease. I'm going in a couple of weeks for the opal festival, doing a recognisance 🎉
@my_van_apartment Parts of NSW have passed the law (sleeping in vehicles illegal) the way things are going it won't take long for the rest of the country to catch up. Laws are even changing at rest stops and what kind of mobile home is allowed, certain size of black and grey water tanks is how councils are trying to keep a majority out
Articulate, intelligent and well spoken….would love to spend some time in Steph’s company and attend one of her workshops. Love my home but understand and respect Steph’s reasons and her choice. Enjoy the life you are entitled too Steph
What a lovely young woman. I am so grateful we are able to have these alternatives for living. It is horrible that the powers that be shame people who do not have allot and do not make it easy to live off the grid.
Love the Gypsy wagon simplicity and how frugal of this truck. What a Blessed Home🙏🙏Happy travels Sister , and another great vid by Liveration. Showing the truth and reality of where we are. 💙💙🤙🤙
That not a Gypsie waggon that's a hippy van!! Or new age Traveller van! Gypsy waggon gets pulled by a horse, Jelly wagon gets pulled by car! Living the dream, God bless her !
I have thought about a box truck to live in. But I don’t know how to build or how make money doing other things . She is using her talents and doing what she can do and not worrying about what she can’t do. I applaud her. Good job. God loves you.
She said that the gov has pretty much made her way of life illegal. She said that she could only buy insurance by telling lies to the insurers. She said the gov classes her as homeless (probably because they don't have any other way to label her). So it pretty much is illegal, she has just found creative ways around it.
its definitely not illegal, British people have been living on the road for decades, even centuries, I've been doing it full time for 6 years, never had a problem
Well Done! She's inspired me to get my Van "Organised" with just the things I need & even finish off the Solar, Dc-dc, batteries & wiring, then my fridge & freezer & fold up / down bed with a good sized cupboard, laying flat under the bed, when folded down. Got a decent amount of space.
Haha. If it’s stressful, stop caring. I’m with you on that one. I no longer care if my style of living isn’t the same as most others. Small is the new BIG 😊 I love everything about you and the life you are living. Brilliant!
You are a free spirit and I admire your dedication. I'm “disabled,” which means I'm missing a leg and have an electric wheelchair, so I can't live like you, but I can do whatever I put my mind to. I can identify with you in the way you are satisfied with what you have. you are truly inspiring.
People call her homeless but I find that ingenious. Some people have big dreams that right there what she's doing and how she's living that's my dream and that's a dream of a lot of people that I have come across. Not only a dream but shame on all governments not just the UK government but I live in the United States. I say shame on all these governments! They're trying to make everything illegal so that they make sure they don't skip out on stealing people's money and putting it in their own pocket kudos to her and to anyone who lives this lifestyle
I think people like Steph are genuine. I love her style. I don't understand why the UK govt. can't have several acres of land for the people living in vans etc. Park on the land and pay a small rent.
@ valbain2...that's because when some travellers stop of at certain places they leave the whole area like a dump...don't clean up or take their rubbish away .if they did im sure we would have more people in her position and loving it the freedom must be awesome ❤
Really enjoyed that. LOVE the soul and spirit of the guys prepared and brave enough to do this, must be extremely liberating. Reminds me of the late 80s to Mid 90s with the Travellers and “Crusties” we knew, far better times when we all felt FREE. She’s great.
Sums it right up....."in the eyes of the government i am homeless, I am sheltering myself but that is illegal" ..... this country has gone to shyt a long time ago.
What a lovely lady. I'm ex Army and have PTSD. Have a house in Snowdonia but spent most of my time in the woods or up a mountain. Can't do bricks. I was going to get a (the norm camper van) but now looking for a horse box. Such a fantastic way of life. At one with nature. EXCELLENT 😍
I love that she called it a TARDIS. Lol It’s almost the right color, too. Lol Maybe that’s where she will go with the paint. She seems so interesting and very happy! I hope the nomadic life continues to be kind to her!
It's all the bare necassities we really need. Not the things they tell us we would. Longing for simplicity and the raw life. Feeling where food, water and heat come from and having the right to create a healthier life for me and the planet. I plan to start a similar lifestyle in the next years. Send my love to the beautiful countryside of the UK!
So nice that she didn't just stay in sadness but chose to live her own way, instead! ❤ A tiny home is my dream - and I tend to make my dreams come true, so...
Really enjoyed seeing Steph’s beautiful home and hearing her story. Governments are going to have to start making changes to what is seen as acceptable living arrangements. The cost of living and appalling lack of affordable housing has reached unprecedented levels. Everyone deserves a roof over their heads, food on their shelves and an opportunity to live their lives as they choose. It would be good to see lots of land made available to fit a tiny home and space to grow a garden.
Anyone else noticed that folks living alternative lifestyles seem like some of the nicest people around?

I saw a video of an old woman living her retirement like this. Perhaps you still could.
No one's decision but your own.❤
@@christinanavarre8389 all the real people should be living this way instead of staionary boxes needing a 9 to 5 to maintain 😢 i dont understand people who exist in a 10, 20, 50.... mile radius from birth to death...humans were never meant to just exist... theres a whole globe to discover... delighted for you...best wishes ❤❤❤
@@christinanavarre8389 I AGREE WITH YOU LIFE IS TO BE ENJOYED NOT LIVE LIKE A SLAVE MUCH LOVE TO YOU
Coming up to 4 years fulltime vanlife myself this simpler life has been the best thing for mental health and the pocket because you live in a tiny space, you don’t accumulate junk so you stop wasting money.
It’s not for everyone.
I get bored in a can alone after a few days
40 years on the road HCV it's a great life. Radio, reading, and enjoying the world around you.
Absolutely right.40 years on the road. HCV, reading, radio and meeting wonderful people.
health insurance?
Tardis on the inside, Tardis blue on the outside!!😊😊😊
What a fantastic woman!
Independent thinking and free spirited.
I live in woodland in a tarp wigwam and have never been happier.
The real joy of life can only be found by those with the courage to walk a different path.
This sounds amazing
It is a far more low impact lifestyle than most of us have, the planners and government should do more to support this way of life well done
Everyone is different. I see that she is happy and feels free. For me, I’m such a homebody I need a permanent place to come back to every day. I have downsized and live simply in a very small town in the foothills of a mountain range and I love my life. I can see the appeal in her life too and wish her well.
I am sure your life is enjoyable too! It's good to follow the path of simplicity.
Yes, 💯 I couldn't do the nomadic life, but I need a simplistic lower cost of living that makes sense to me.
I would love to live in a small town but it's hard to find a job in towns or rural areas.
This girl is a gem and I love her build!
When I watch videos like this, it just makes me feel at home. I struggle to fit in and when I watch videos like this, I realise it’s ok to not want what everyone else wants.
76 & 75 van dwellers for past 4yrs...... What a joy to watch you Steph🙏🙏
What a cool, down to earth, lovely person.
😅9f99😊fo9 😢f😊
I loved this wonderful woman and her enviable way of life, she's got this totally right and I wish the authorities wouldn't make things so difficult for van lifers, it's a healthier way to live.
I'd love it to be easier for all nomads. The Gypsy, Roma, Traveller community. Homeless people, new age travellers. Fairground folk.
I wouldn’t describe this as an ‘alternative life’, I would describe it as “Real Life”. Wonderful lady, great dogs too! Kind regards.
You remind me of a wise woman that lived some 300 years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you and listening to you. If I lived closer, I’d buy one of your wreaths Patty from Connecticut, USA.
Basic life can be happy life, she proves it. Good interview, well done.
What a lovely woman and she's made a super cosy home. 🙂
I love that build! It's like stepping into a cabin from the frontier days.
If society goes down, the banks fail, the lights go out, famine or whatever,,,you will be the one who is living your life comfortably!!
God bless you, because you are a blessing to others!!
❤️🙏❤️
I think I would struggle unless I found land. The true winners are the food growers when society collapses
Amen!
I love her so much. Protect this woman at all costs. ❤
I saw Steph at Vanlife Festival, such a cool lady! I've been 1.5 years on my van and like others have said, would never trade it for a house now.
That's cool! Yeah she really is!
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video 🙌🏼
Steph is a very bright woman! I think she could be a woodsman/gardener or a CEO of a company. She has made her choice. I watch these videos because I do believe there is going to be a reset, and those forewarned are forearmed. This channel is the best for highlighting this lifestyle and community. Thanks guys 🙂
Funny you should say that. I am Royal horticulture society trained and ran my own gardening business for 5 years. And also do chainsaw stuff over winter as another hustle. Only today I was using my chainsaw to sort someone's wood store out for them
WOW Steph is one of the coolest clever people ever to exist...what a wonderful life you are living...so amazing ❤❤❤
I did my thesis on nomadic living, it's not only normal but it's one the best alternatives for sustainable living in fragile ecosystems...So it couldn't be more relevant today 😊
I would take this van over a £100k motor home every time 👍😎
Looks too big and heavy for me tbh
@@macaroon147that's interesting
Agree big time! Those things are so tacky, too!
Absolutely. Every item in there has so much character and has its own story too. Mesmerising
@@djkenny1202 Who the hell cares if it's tacky? in my eyes the VAST majority of stick and brick homes are little more then eye sores.
I'm so glad to hear that ❤
I admire anyone that lives like this and I think it's a great blessing also. I also love the old past time style. She's precious and very wise also. Thx hon for sharing your home.
Love everything about her and what she has done!
Two lucky pooches to have her as thier Mommy❤
This is probably my favorite conversion I've ever seen, it's so personal to her and so cozy❤
Thanks! ❤😮
Do you drive long distances?
Would 💯 be friends with her, very interesting and so down to earth. Such a breathe of fresh air listening to someone like her
i may never meet any of the people in this video or watching this video, and i dont really need the inspiration, because i am already there, but it is so nice to know we are everywhere! ❤️ from canada, keep breathing free!
She’s absolutely a ray of sunshine! ☀️ What a sweet soul… ❤ Bless her travels! 🙏🏻
@my_van_apartment
Parts of NSW have passed the law (sleeping in vehicles illegal) the way things are going it won't take long for the rest of the country to catch up. Laws are even changing at rest stops and what kind of mobile home is allowed, certain size of black and grey water tanks is how councils are trying to keep a majority out
@@Emkamo-r1c yep not surprised.
It’s not illegal
Articulate, intelligent and well spoken….would love to spend some time in Steph’s company and attend one of her workshops. Love my home but understand and respect Steph’s reasons and her choice. Enjoy the life you are entitled too Steph
So good to see a genuine smile - of fulfilment. Good on you lass, all the best.
What a lovely young woman. I am so grateful we are able to have these alternatives for living. It is horrible that the powers that be shame people who do not have allot and do not make it easy to live off the grid.
"Pretty as a picture." I loved listening to this lady. She had a lot to say. Her truck is a real home, comfortable and beautiful.
Thanks to Steph for sharing her lovely home with us. ❤
This woman is a cool warrior!!
Agreed!
Love the Gypsy wagon simplicity and how frugal of this truck. What a Blessed Home🙏🙏Happy travels Sister , and another great vid by Liveration. Showing the truth and reality of where we are. 💙💙🤙🤙
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying our videos 😊🙌🏼
That not a Gypsie waggon that's a hippy van!! Or new age Traveller van!
Gypsy waggon gets pulled by a horse,
Jelly wagon gets pulled by car!
Living the dream,
God bless her !
I have thought about a box truck to live in. But I don’t know how to build or how make money doing other things . She is using her talents and doing what she can do and not worrying about what she can’t do. I applaud her. Good job. God loves you.
This young lady has a beautiful home. She's so resourceful! Loved seeing her home and hearing about her life.❤
What a beautiful person, real and love how you're living a free life! Great van too!
The British Govt. makes this kind of living illegal??? ShameShame !! The Govt. should pay this lovely lady for being a Life Lesson Ambassador !!
Shameful. Government is the enemy to our freedom.
No, it is not illegal.
@@monkeyboy2297 but where you can park ? at tesco illegal any other car park illegal street probably not safety today nothing is legal
What a wonderful woman, total self sufficiency at its best, really wish her all the best.
Well Done! She's inspired me to get my Van "Organised" with just the things I need & even finish off the Solar, Dc-dc, batteries & wiring, then my fridge & freezer & fold up / down bed with a good sized cupboard, laying flat under the bed, when folded down. Got a decent amount of space.
I think ppl who live a simple life are the happiest least anxious people.
Haha. If it’s stressful, stop caring. I’m with you on that one. I no longer care if my style of living isn’t the same as most others.
Small is the new BIG 😊
I love everything about you and the life you are living. Brilliant!
You are a free spirit and I admire your dedication. I'm “disabled,” which means I'm missing a leg and have an electric wheelchair, so I can't live like you, but I can do whatever I put my mind to. I can identify with you in the way you are satisfied with what you have. you are truly inspiring.

What a wonderful, independent and strong woman! I loved this video!!!
@jeanettew.fenton6954 I'm sorry I didn't know that.🙂 That's a shame people would do that.
Love her! Most realistic video of tiny house living that I have seen in a long time! This is truly what it is all about and I am inspired!
I love her vibe. The van is cozy and old fashioned. Love it.

I think this beautfiul woman is doing life the right way 👍 i wish Steph all the peace and happiness she deserves 💙
Good on her finding a way around being squeezed by the system.
Really cool attitude to life. Love the van, particularly the two homes for the dogs!
