Any idiot who drives into flood water like that shouldn't get an insurance payout!
Exactly!
Insurers love this channel.
@@Humvee369 hahaha i hope its someone's job to watch these videos all day and deny peoples claims! 🤣
these vids should make sure they dont.
Most or all insurers will not cover avoidable damage like deliberately driving into deep water.
Incredible how much people don't understand how engine works
Love watching people try to start it like they didn't just completely fucked their engine lol
They don't want to know. All they want is to go.
Most drivers don’t even check oil and fluid levels never mind a daily walk around check , it’s pretty pathetic really.
No No, it's not the engine they don't know how it works, it's their brain.
Most people don’t even check their levels nor their tires! On top of that they don’t even rotate their tires or change their cabin, engine filters much less change their oil. Pretty sad if you ask me.
The fact the driving instructor thought it would be Ok to drive in 3' of water certainly explains why so many people drive like shit today ! - Not an atom of common sense !!
Truth is, they don’t teach them to drive, they teach them how to pass a test. 😩
@@hughmarcus1especially the foreign ones who can barley speak English 🤢
What a muppet that driving instructor. Absolutly clueless
I love all the high and mighty people here with the benefit of hindsight. These people obviously underestimated how deep the water is. I live in the countryside and our lanes often get flooded after heavy rainfall. Sometimes it’s easy to underestimate how deep the water coming off the fields has got. If you’re used to the lanes and fording floods, I can see how easy it would be to not realise the waters gotten deeper than usual.
Appeal to British drivers:
A car is not a submarine!
since Brexshit, we know they are not the smart ones!
Thought the same.
After a series of these footages when people destroy their cars because they think that cars are submarines - it will be soon a campaign of education short spots how to drive in deep water, and when don't. i can't imagine so much unconsiousness of drivers in my country.

Blasted Beatles for telling people different...
@@vetrieska11 There won't be any campaign - IIRC from a previous incident - what councils will do is just put up "Closed Road" signs to 'protect' the drivers.
When you see several people on the banks, waiting to film you, surely that must be an early warning you won't make it through!
It is if the driver has an IQ bigger than their shoe size.... sadly most don't even have the sense to watch someone else go through and check the depth.
I swear to God if I see bunch of people filming with their phones, I’ll turn around even if there’s no water.
Your assuming these 'drivers' have enough brain power to work that out!!
I don't think even bright flashing neon signs would have been enough for some of these plonkers.
All the signs are there for anyone paying the slightest bit of attention. But People are so used to not having to deal with any consequences of their stupidity or make any kind of risk assements for themselves that they behave like dumb sheep walking willingly and unquestioningly toward their own demise.
This is the UK - home of King Canute 😂
Tow truck and a card reader, you’d make a fortune
A note to all van drivers....most of the air intakes are under the van so are more likely to destroy your engine than a car.
facts! i own a van and the air box is just under the front bumper at low skirt level. no chance at all going through that😂
most van drivers dont know this and think we are bigger than cars so we can drive through but in reality they are much worse in the water.@@rossg9363
@@rossg9363 relocate it,,, save it!!
@@abc33944 i was shocked when i discovered the air box was that low but there is no space in vans engine compartments and you can't put it inside the van it would suck all your warm or cold air out of your van. the only thing you could possibly do is put a snorkel on the air box and maybe get it 1 foot higher to the top of the wheelwell without any heavy modification.
Commercial drivers ought to ask themselves, if my vehicle got stolen, how would that effect my ability to earn money, until the insurance paid less than I paid for it?
Then they need to ask. How would I earn money, if my vehicle is a write-off and the insurance won’t pay anything?
I do not feel sorry for these people who have no common sense and for the people who get FIRED for totaling a company vehicle.
Hot Tub Assist! Cold river water does not assist.
These are the same people who hog the middle & outside lanes on motorways, drive straight over mini roundabouts, park in disabled bays, drift across lanes on roundabouts and stop on box junctions.
Plus not stopping completely at Stop Signs, speed up when the traffic lights go amber, and follow too close 😂
Ah well, natural selection in action.
All whilst on their phone 😂
it's like watching moths burning on light bulbs

There's one customer who definitely did NOT get his damage protection deposit back!
I loved that suzuki with the fake snorkel 😂😂
Fitting a 'snorkel' to your LR Freelander does not automatically turn in into a devastatingly capable off roader.
Or Submarine.
@@starsailor49 LOL
It helps a lot with my Hilux, but mine is actually connected to the air intake....
If I cant´t see the street, I won´t drive in it because I can´t see, what is under the water. Deep holes or other road damage.
Thanks to such drivers, tow trucks and auto repair shops thrive.
You got that right!
Engage gear, leave brains at home 😂
Woow, the sheer pace of massive destruction in this video is breath taking
Never before have I seen this much money being spaffed up a wall in so short time
the red Fiesta with the old guy is the first car with a good driver!
Old enough to have some common sense. An increasingly rare quality it would seem! Looks like he took in some water even so..
Landrover had a glue on snorkel 😂
The worst driving technique is to rush into the water, which flows under pressure into the air filter and then into the engine.
You don't say. 🙄
The worst driving technique; is to drive into water period
Not always. Some cars will just submarine right through with most of the water going over the hood. I've seen it happen more than once. It's still a gamble though.
If you need to go through the water in offroad situation you want to create a wave in front of the vehicle which creates space in front of it. However most of the idiots in this video are going too fast
Don't go in there in the first place, don't break dummy
Unbelievable lack of preparation, not one person has fishing gear.
Or a swimsuit!
It deffo looks fishable Got a lovely colour !!!!
Lovely old jaguar wrecked 😮 unbelievable. Plus the water in the carpets etc will stink forever. Ps: the VW with speed and with the sun roof open , pure comedy gold 😂😂😂
Use a wet vac, wash, use baking soda on anywhere that got wet and shouldn't be an issue, if salt water I would be worried about electrics
You mean ford Mondeo xD
Guy in the jimny is a right plum, bet he thought he was the big I am flying in there 🤣🤣

Range Rover with a snorkel drowns! That's as funny as the "Faster is Better" crowd.
Freelander...
I guess that snorkel is just for looks :D
It’s an old Freelander. Chances are that snorkel is just an accessory or the air box isn’t properly sealed
@@hughmarcus1 Snorkel on my Hilux works great, but I still drive slow enough to avoid flooding my electrics...
8:07 "Setting the standard for others to follow" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When you see water pouring out of the tailpipe you know you have a problem.
Hate to admit this but I suffered this fate in a Jaguar XJ40 20 yrs back. It was at night and pouring with rain so was not aware how deep the water was with the drains blocked with leaves, although saw the road was flooded and thought it would be a hoot to drive through fast. At the time I charged through the water and I never gave it a thought or even knew that the air intake pipe for the engine was quite low down in the engine bay. Even if it was high up....creating a bow wave like on this video is still going to suck in water.
I was able to limp home a few hundred metres further up the road and the next morning took out the spark plugs and cranked the engine over and water gushed up out of the spark-plug holes like a sperm whale blowing its breather hole. "That's not good I thought". The engine was reconditioned, but what shocked me was when the mechanic showed me how the piston conrods were literally bent!.......really rammed home how incompressable water is. Needless to say won't do it again.
Happened to me, only I luckily only blocked the exhaust. I drove slowly through a big, what I thought was a puddle, turned out to be much deeper than I expected. I got lucky. All these people here judging these people probably live in cities and don’t have to deal with the regular flooding in rural areas. It’s very easy to misjudge how deep the water is, especially if your used to fording a bit of a flood, it only takes one time for it to get half a foot deeper than normal and the rest is history.
A few bent connecting rods
Is that due to water getting into the combustion chamber?
Yes..water dos not compres like air
It looks to me like the waters gone up the exhaust and blocked the exhaust rather than into the engine, judging by the steam coming out if the exhaust.
@@JasonEagles-hw4rl No, that's steam generated inside the engine. Water doesn't burn, but it also doesn't compress, so it can blow steam if you're lucky, or it can completely destroy the engine.
@@bigglyguy8429 not necessarily, I went through a deep puddle last year and the water went up the exhaust and caused a stall, it started again and a lot of steam came out of the exhaust.
It’s a miracle we ever left the Stone Age.
I’m Gunna lose my job. Don’t represent the company so badly and put the public in Danger 😊
My friend works for cadent and last month 3 of the new electric fleet vans died the exact same way with the engineers trying to get to gas main blow outs quickly and bombing it through flood water . He says it happens all the time
14:26 1. How?, 2. Don’t use his driving school.
Looks like the Iveco driver will be looking for a new job.
You know iveco is short for
Mass'iveco'ck end😂😂
Some people are so thick
9:15 Love that certified Jeremy Clarkson speed & power attempt
It’s called a making a bow wave. And if your engine stalls, DO NOT try and restart it. That’s the absolute worst thing you can do.
probably one in ten people who drive thru deep water even know where their engines air intake is located.
not sure they even know where the engine is located
I’d have thought it’s more like 9 in 10. With modern cars the fluid levels are displayed on the dash. Most won’t know where the bonnet lever is. 😩
Amazing they don't close the road
Do you get any warning before you drive into a river?
You obviously dont live in the countryside, flooding is fairly regular when there is heavy rainfall. If they closed the roads every time the roads flooded nobody would be able to leave their houses. Ridiculous comment.
The irony of the Stickle back van getting stuck in the river 😂
The spirit of the van just wanted to go home :)
It’s better than watching the muppets movie 😂
It kinda is the muppets movie though 😉
😂😂😂😂
I love the sound of them pistons trying to compress water!!
Was that the sound that black truck was making?
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity!
What astonishes me the most is how so many people, far from stopping and getting out to asses the situation properly, fail to even slow down, or in many cases, even ACCELERATE INTO the water! 😖 How thick can you get?! About half of these could have probably made it through if they'd just taken it at a sensible speed.
Seeing all these perfectly good vehicles get junked because so many people seem to lack even a grain of situational awareness is really annoying!
Don't feel sorry for these people. They've been posting these videos for years, they all live in the same neighborhood and they know what will happen
Its like they have no self preservation.
Yeah, but thats human. I mean look at climate change.
Drive slow and avoid the wave. Is it so difficult to understand?
Obviously too difficult for all of these people, especially the driving instructor.
Hmm it's even than not sure if you can continue to drive if the clutch is wet.
@@imtheeastgermanguy5431 I went through 2' of water in my renault trafic slowly and had exactly that problem. I think I have a slight oil leak from the engine, plus water = slipping clutch until it all spins out. Thankfully didn't get stuck,..just.
@@Veeger I saw this problem only from the old top gear where James may had a sailing car and tried to drive out of the water and said that the clutch doesn't work because it's wet. Maybe it could work with a automatic gearbox
@@Veeger some cars look like they got a engine failure or electrical issue. I wonder why they don't put sticks at the deepest point with 2' or more, a scale that everyone can see how deep it is and a sign where they say that no insurance companies will pay neither is the towing for free and on top the get a heavy fine when they still drive through it
If that’s the brain power of a driving instructor then it explains quite a lot 🤦🏻♂️
9:40 The little Citroën did it pretty well!!! 😎👍🏼
Put in lowest gear, rev engine hard to keep up gas pressure in tail pipe, enter the water very slowly so as not to make a bow wave over front of vehicle. Crawl through at 5 mph.
I don't understand the sheer number of foolish people there. Was physics never taught there, or at least common sense? I would open an auto repair shop right next door. It seems like it would really be profitable.
We all laugh (I suppose you might as well 🤣) but this is why your insurance is going up hundreds of pounds (well, that's what they are telling me) 🤔
The amount of claims from people driving through Fords would have zero effect on the general insurance costs. There are far more claims for people failing to give way, running into the back of other cars, stolen cars, loss of control, etc etc etc.
@Salutimondo but the same ignorance here causes a lot of the incidents you mention
It sure does it's the same ignoramuses doing all those things, then moan the loudest when the insurance premium rockets up... @@Owen-hg3cu

Incredible how many people think they can drive through high waters, especially in small cars!
And these people are allowed to 'drive' on UK roads? Oh boy!
10:10 You can say what you want about French cars, but 2 Citroën made the job!
Do people think that engines don't have a air filter system and that why they drive fast into the water 😂
This is like the Wavy Boats YT channel for cars.

Great Video 👍🏻💪🏻
We have a saying in Australia..... If it's flooded, forget it... fully endorsed by the police. The road could be washed away under all that water and people swept away, that's why we have the saying.
Why havent authorities put up barriers that say road flooded?
1:57 - I'm pretty sure there'll be a clause in his rental contract to state he MUST NOT do this.
Destroying that wagon (by choice) is probably going to be VERY costly for him/them
Rentals also have like a $5k to $10k excess.
3:00 What's the problem with that L200? He didn't go into the water quickly, there was no water splashing around and the air intake should have been clear from any water...

Black truck is having differential problems.
That, I never expected as his technique was perfect. I wonder if his transmission was running hot and the cold water cracked the case. Certainly a bit of a bummer but noticed it's an older 02 plate. Despite looking in decent cosmetic condition something was amiss prior to entering the water.
@@Biffo1262I think he’s not engaged low range for a long time. There was a lot of crunching as he tried to get it back into high range. Some of those Japanese pickups have a switch on the dash that drives a solenoid to engage low range. If not used they seize up.

Around my neck of the woods we close off a road that has deep running water over it.
They are going to hsve to introduce advice on how to and when not drive through water into the driving test. Thay will keep a few idiots off the road.
I believe that the advice to keep the revs up is taken to mean drive fast. Seriously. I believe they misunderstand that keeping the revs up to keep water out of the exhaust is to go fast. Nope. Higher revs, slow speed, no bow wave. If in doubt don't drive through. If you are confident enough to do it then reverse through but use higher revs (not speed). Contrary to what some drivers think deisels too can be hydro locked. They may not suffer damage so easily but that is simply down to the fact deisels operate under higher internal pressures so are built correspondingly stronger.
